"Call Powerlink Troubleshooting"

I acquired my 8830 just before Chrstmas. Haven't had any problems till today. Starting this morning, and occurring all day, it buzzes, at various intervals (not the typical ring or vibration) and when I answer there is a highlighted message that says "Call Powerlink Troubleshooting" and has the number right there, so that I can push the button and be connected as with any other number. However, the next words I hear are, "You have reached a non-working number." Go figure. The phone seems to be working normally every other way, but the buzz is troubling and clearly something's wrong.
After lunch, I stopped at the Verison store where I bought it and was turned over to to one of their technicians. He said he never heard of such a thing, didn't know what it was and told me he "removed it and you're back in business."  The moment I got back to my office the same buzzing occurred and continues to the present moment.
Anybody got any leads? I'm clueless. Many thanks.

If you really have an ISDN, you could troubleshoot this problem using "debug isdn q931".
You should be able to change NOA using voice translation rule (like this):
ISDNtest(cfg-translation-rule)#rule 1 /.*/ /\1/ type any ?
abbreviated Abbreviated numbering type
international International numbering type
national National numbering type
network Network numbering type
reserved Reserved numbering type
subscriber Subscriber numbering type
unknown Unknown numbering type
So you could do something like this:
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /^.*/ /\1/ type any subscriber plan any national
voice translation-profile NoaChange
translate called 100

  • I can't get FaceTime to call out or receive calls on my daughters iPod touch. I have set up a gmail account and apple ID using that gmail address and it is all verifie.  When I try calling her iPod or calling out from the iPod it just rings a few times.

    I can't call out or call on FaceTime on my daughters new iPod touch.  I have set up a new gmail account and set up her apple ID using that email address. Everything is indicating as verified. When I try calling her on FaceTime or use her iPod to call out it just rings a few times then says call failed.

  • I phone 4 works part time. In order to get it to work I have to re-boot. My sleep button is broke so I have to plug it in to start it. I can get several calls and than no connection. All settings been checked. All my research leads to a software problem.

    I phone 4 , gets calls and than does not get calls. I have to re-boot to get the phone to work. I have to keep checking to see if i am getting a signal.My sleep button is broke and I am useing the accessibility mode . Also I am using Metro P.C. as my carrier. All my research leads to a software problem. How do we fix something like that. ?  I could not find this problem on line so this is my last resort. I have not talked to apple either.

  • After updating with IOS8 I cannot use iphone it is stuck in OVERSIZE PIC.  If i shut down and leave for awhile it still stays oversize cannot take calls or see apps.HELP!

    I loaded IOS8 today it worked for awhile . but not it is in OVERSIZE and and functional cannot rec calls or make calls.  Although phone does ring.

  • UC320: how to set (correct) time and date, upload own AA messages, get caller ID, telnet?

    Just trying out the UC320 I got borrowed from Cisco AT for testing with firmware 2.1.2 (1) localized for Austria.
    The device is connected to the cable modem of my ISP (Kabelsignal) utilizing two FXO ports, getting an IP address from my DHCP being connected to a WS-C2960G-24TD (LAN 1@UC320 connected to Gi0/18@C2960G port macro Cisco Switch enabled).
    Now I would like to try/see the following features:
    - a correct time and date: huh? hwo/where???
    No option to set this right??? No NTP option??? Am I just blind or too stupid to find that option/s?
    - upload own messages for the AA: ok, there are german messages but someone might have a little bit personalized ones - maybe telling callers the company name before asking them to dial the extension if they know it. Making custom messages is not the problem - but how to upload and in which sound/data format?
    - caller ID: my ISP told me that he transfers the caller ID correctly to analoge end devices if caller ID is available and not suppressed. All I can see when a call comes in is which FXO Port is being used by that call. So callback entries on the SPA phone is senseless. Any advise?
    - CLI: You can telnet the device - but which credentials to use to successfully logon? The pre-assigned credentials form Cisco AT are not accepted for logon.
    BTW @Cisco guys: I am also voting for support for the older SPAs (e.g. 942)

    Thanks for giving the UC320W a spin and glad you found the support community!  Let met see if I can help answer your questions....
    Time/Date & NTP -- The UC320W is preconfigured with Cisco's Small Business NTP server.  The preferred method for correct time you will need the UC320W WAN to be connected with Internet access.   If there is no WAN connectivity there is a feature in the 2.1.x firmware where you can set the time on a SPA phone GUI and it will then update the system time.  Alternatively, if you have a LAN side NTP server that is on the same subnet as your Data VLAN subnet, you can use the NTP.pmf file found here:  https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16301
    Upload custom Music on Hold and Auto Attendant prompt files.  We are currently in beta of a new Cloud service.  To participate in the Beta, please send an e-mail to [email protected] requesting MoH/AA Custom files Cloud Beta participation.
    Caller ID on FXO:  Make sure that you have run the impedance matching tool on each of your FXO ports.  For additional information on running the Impedance Matching tool and Caller ID troubleshooting, please see the UC320W Troubleshooting Guide.
    CLI access -- This is for Cisco Support personnel only for low level debugging.  This is not a IOS based device and there is no command line access for provisioning.

    Yes, caller ID has to be activated on each set top box, and it takes 24-48 hours to see the alerts after activation.
    First thing, though, as per walt178 has said, is to check for availability of caller ID based on your current services.
    Also, there are some standard STBs that are not compatible with the caller ID feature.

  • Who do I submit a complaint to?

    My Late 2008 MBP was having problems on the more powerful graphics card(Nvidia 9600M GT). When Using the GPU the black areas would flicker red and the whole screen would flicker. So I brought it to the West Nyack New York genius bar. I sat there for about 45 minutes waiting for the genius to spend 5 minutes looking at my computer. He said the problem was the monitor and said they had the part in stock could fix it in 3-5 days.
    After about 3 days in their possession I called them for a status update. They said they'd call back. I had to wait till the end of the day. Not a big deal really. They told me that it wasn't my monitor that was causing problems, it was the GPU so they'd have to keep it for another to swap GPUs.
    I called the day after and tried to just have a conversation with a genius to see if my computer was ready. They said they'd call back.
    This time they called back much later to tell me that they had broken the computer and the thing won't turn on. Now they will have to replace the WHOLE computer with a new one.
    Ok, I thought, I'll get a more modern unit. So I gave them the weekend to update me on anything and called them on Monday to find out when I could expect my computer. They said they'd call back.
    This time they didn't return my call. So to get some answers, like when can I expect my computer and why am I not in the loop, I physically went to the store to talk to the manager. Instead of listening to my problem, Sharon the Manager seemed more interested in getting me out of the store than listening to my problem.
    I asked her when my computer would arrive, she said she didn't know and that it was apparently being shipped cross country. So I asked her about maybe a shipping tracking number so I could track it. She said she'd email it to me. That was 7 hours ago and still no contact from them. I'd really just like to have some detailed information.
    My question is, who do I go to submit a complaint. I tried apple.com/feedback but it has nothing about the genius bar or their service. Is there a regional manager?

    Very sorry to hear of your experience at the store. A couple of options:
    1.) You can either go back to store, or call them and ask to speak with the store's general manager. The woman you spoke with, Sharon, was she the store manager or one of the assistant managers? Each store has one "store/general" manager but has several assistant managers. Your concern of getting your machine back and in your possession is a pretty valid claim, especially considering you haven't had it for a while. Give them a call... stay cool and collected (not indicated you wouldn't, just saying) and I'm sure the store will make things right for you.
    2.) You can call into Applecare technical support, as to my knowledge, the systems that the stores and the phone agents access are available to one another. I know when I've called in for support, the phone agents can see my previous case history from my retail visits. As an above posted stated, you can reach out to Customer Relations. It doesn't make sense to call into troubleshooting line, simply because you're not troubleshooting anything.
    I really hope this all ends in your satisfaction and I hope that Apple is able to make things right for you. Best of luck!

  • Windows 8.1 Pro, Type recovery and Search can't find anything

    System is installed in a classroom with the latest updates. One of the lessons had the students type
    recovery on the Tiles page and it should return 5 results (the other 10 systems in the room returned the correct results). This system couldn't find anything so I got called to troubleshoot.
    I first compared locations being searched in Indexing Options
    to the system right next to this system. They were identical. Next, I went into
    Advanced and chose the Delete and Rebuild Index option. Weirdly, while the indexing was going on, I did a search for
    recovery and it found some entries. I didn't think to compare the results to the other system, I just assumed I had resolved the problem. No luck, after the indexing was complete, I typed in
    recovery and no results were found!
    Since another option under Advanced is to choose a new location for the
    Index File. I figured it couldn't hurt although I didn't think it would help either. I decided to more the
    index file to the root directory on the C: drive. That didn't work, the system just ignored the change. Each system is this classroom has two
    BACKUP partitions on the external drive attached to each system. We use
    System Images so that's why two BACKUP partitions, allows us to always have at least one backup in case something happens. I next tried relocating the
    Index File to the second BACKUP partition (H:). Surprisingly, that fixed the problem. My question is: WHY!!!

    According to your description,it seems that the permission caused this issue.
    I suggest that you try using build-in administrator to test it.
    Also,check the Write permission on the C:drive.

    While looking into the issue you are experiencing I came across some helpful information. In an article called iCloud: Troubleshooting creating backups found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3992 there are a number of steps to help get your issue resolved.
    General troubleshooting
    General information
    iCloud Backup requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet.
    Automatic backups occur when you've plugged in your iOS device, locked the screen, and have connected it to Wi-Fi.
    You can manually start a backup by tapping Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup (requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet).
    iCloud Backup will provide helpful information and status messages related to backups at the bottom ofSettings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    If automatic backups don't work as expected, test to see what happens when you start a manual backup by tapping Back Up Now at the bottom of the Storage & Backup screen.
    Backups and restores both take time, especially if you have a lot of data or a slow connection. Depending on the size of your data and the speed of your network, you may need to give more time than you expected to a backup or restore.
    Make sure you have at least 50 MB of free space available on your iOS device before you back up. If you have no space available on your device, iCloud Backup can fail in some cases. You can verify how much free space you have available on your iOS device in Settings > General > About.

    Resolution
    Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
    Restart the iPhone.
    Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
    Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
    Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
    If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.
