Can only hear sound through headphones

i can only hear sounds on my ipod touch through my headphones

first try plugging and unplugging your headphones at least a dozen times really fast because somtimes the headphone jack sometimes has debris in it. i used to have the same problem.
if that doesnt work restore it back to factory defaults by going to the setting icon then go to the general bar, after that scroll al the way to the bottom and click reset, then click reset all settings after that if it still wont work do the same thing accept click on erase all content and settings

I had a problem recently where I could only use my headphones. Being the geek in nature I am I thought long and hard, and figured that it had to something to do with the iPod since that's what I was using last. I think the iPhone gets confused when you pause using the headphone buttun, and locks it in this mode. After fumbling around, reinstalling everything, it occured to me to just put the headphones back on, play the ipod, and stop it using the phone pad, not the headset button --problem solved. A friend just had s=this same problem, and I recommended this solution and it worked for him too. I hope you read this before you go through all the anxiety I did.

Its safe to assume that this phone was working prior to the update? I would do a restore through iTunes but this is my personal opinion. The update didn't effect everyone this way or Apple would have a big problem so it's pretty safe to guess something went wrong with yours. As far as Facetime goes, I don't believe they were going to allow it over 3g. The iPhone 5 supports LTE which is faster than most wifi so its allowed on there but 3g is much much slower.

I can only get sound through my ipad with the head phones. I haven't had this problem before. I upgraded about a week ago, but this is the first time the sound has been an issue. When I turn up the volume it shows that it is the volume for the headphones but I can't figure out how to adjust the volume for everything. I have rebooted.

Also try this if above doesn't work.
1. Plug and unplug my headphone jack into the iPad four times.
2. On the fourth time leave the headphone jack connected and rotate the plug clockwise, then remove and try your sound.

Can only hear sound out of one ear in iPod 30gb

My nephew can only hear sound from one ear of his headphones.
1) he's not becoming deaf and we've tried multiple pairs of headphones that give the SAME result.
2) the volume settings are correct, so its not that.
What are the options here? Is there a known fix? If its a hardware issue, can Apple do anything (free under warranty or repair with charge)?

can anyone help me i think i screwed up my computers sound and i dont know how. I can only hear sound from musicmatch jukebox when i play a song. i cannot hear sounds from any of my games or othe applications. please help me!

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.

I can only hear sound from one side of the head phone

I've plug in my bass guitar through a cord and a converter in the line in port on my PC. Then checked 'listen to this device' (head phone) which is connected properly as it worked perfectly when I play any sound in ma PC. But when I play my guitar, I can
only hear it from one side of the head phone. How to fix it!?

Is that compatible to give output from both sides (R + L) ? Can you check same thing on other system ?

Why all do videos stop when i maximize them on youtube ? i can only hear sound. It hasnt happened before. It works with other browsers. I wouldnt like to change mozilla.

I think this happened a couple of weeks ago. I sudden realized that everytime i change the quality of a clip on youtube or simply maximize it the video stops playing .. i can only hear the sound. Trying with different browsers works just fine. Please help

Can only hear phone through speaker

Can someone please help me. I updated my iPhone yesterday and now I can only hear callers via the speaker function. The regular ear portal and earphones no longer work. Anyone with experience with this?

As absurd as that was, it actually worked. None of my system sounds were working either. I had used the iPod function of my iPhone last night, so I'm guessing that's what goofed everything up. Does Apple know about this yet?

Couple of things to check here.
1. Toggle volume buttons on headset
2. Check sound settings
2. Try a different headset to rule out the phone
3. If a second headset does not work check the headphone jack for debris
4. If no debris, and the phone is still under warranty, contact Apple Support or go by an Apple Store for service

In Logic Express 7, I can see the levels indicating that the software is recieving a MIDI signal when I play keys on my keyboard, but I can't hear anything in my headphones. What's the solution?

It may be in the interface software. I use a FireBox and have to make sure the software for it is configured correctly. Also, check your System Prefs to make sure your output is being directed properly.

I am only able to hear any sounds/music from my iTouch with the headphones plugged in to it. I have the change with buttons selected to "on". Am I missing something else?

Cannot hear sound through headphones when running mainstage- Mackie 1220i interface

I am currently running Logic Studio with my MacBook Pro with a Mackie 1220i mixer/interface. I can hear the processed sound fine on the mic channel and the guitar channel when the headphones are plugged into the mixer but I get no sound when the headphones are plugged into the MacBook Pro. I am trying to set up a concert in Mainstage. Suggestions?

Windows 7 64bit, MBP Retina, Only system sounds through headphones

Like others I have been trawling through the support tickets but nothing seems to resolve the issue for me.
Running Win7 64bit, I plug in my headphones and play audio (FL Studio) and audio continues to play through my speakers and not my headphones. Interestingly when I turn the brightness or sound up and down the incremental "pip" sounds ARE played through the headphones. It's as though Windows doesn't know to route the sound from apps through the headphones. A few nights ago, Youtube started playing through the headphones, I quickly started FL Studio but this still played through the speakers.
I have installed the latest Boot Camp drivers and the latest Cirrus Logic drivers CS4206B (AB40) but to no avail.
Any one made progress on this?

Without changing a thing (to my knowledge) Prem 9 is now starting up properly.
Well 5 out of 6 start ups have been successful!!
Not sure why this is, but project editing and manipulation all seem to working fine and have even exported an end product!!
I guess I'll just have to see how things go.

I cannot hear sound through my iMac Headphone port, this is a very new computer. I can hear sound through the usb port of the device. How can this be fixed? Headphones are selected as an Output device.
Please help in any way possible, it is becoming quite a concern as it was just working a matter of hours ago.

usb does not carry audio at all it's a serial digital bus
things one connect to usb which play audio act the role of being usb audio cards only 1 audio card can be active at the time so if you connect an usb audio card the internal audio card is muted
this cause your headset to be muted
disconnect the usb audio card and you will be able to use your headset
if you wish to use a headset an an usb audio card at the same time the headset needs to be connected to the usb audio card
