Can't believe how unprofessional this company is!

We bought a $4000 4k tv. It broke after 2 weeks of use!  That was 2 weeks ago!! We have called customer service multiple times. Can't talk to a supervisor. Can't talk to customer relations. Can't get any phone numbers. We've been hung up on twice. They set up a repair with a vendor - took a day off work to meet the repair guy - never showed up!  When we called they said Sony had never even ordered the parts - no one called to tell us. We have been promised multiple phone calls - never happens. We are fed up and asked for a refund - we were told Customer Relations would call in 24 to 48 hours - that was 6 days ago. Called to ask what happened - our request was not even in the system. As it stands - we have no TV, no repair date, no communication of any kind on our refund request - nothing!

Get used to it, par for the course. There is no such thing as customer relations, "customer we don't care dept run by incompetent managers with highly incompetent, "reps" who do all the same annoying things" is all there is  They don't listenmake you repeat yourself over and over and over and over and then still never give a direct ans to direct questioneven though you have repeated yourself 5 times and told them what you want the next thing they say to you is,        "HOW MAY I HELP YOU?"  REALLY!!so then you tell them,, what the hey?? I just got done telling you for 20 minutes why I am calling so why would you say that?to which they will sit there and say nothing, dead air, silencehow totally annoying is that?they are so totally unprofessional they never properly idenify themselves.most won't give an id number or transaction number when asked.  if they do, it does you no good as the supervisors are worse than the front line non-reps.  Does anyone know who is in charge overall of these people?  Who is responsible for the consistently bad service across the board?   How come he' or she still has a job?

  • Can't believe how easy to problem was to solve!

I can't believe how easy it was for me to solve my really worrying dilemma. My iPod wouldn't play the videos which were put onto it and it turned out that all I had to do was change the TV output setting to off! And then it gloriously worked (followed by me running around to house in exctiement, relief and happiness!!) Thanks to everyone who tried to help. I still cant get over how easy it was to solve! All this worrying over something so small lol

    For the love of ...
Why aren't "Video Settings" listed in "iPod -> Settings" menu!!!! That's horrible design. They must have hired someone from Microsoft to write that module!
Thanks for listening. I feel better now.

Unfortunately, unless you set up an iCloud account on the iPod and turned on Find My iPod before it was stolen, no.  Even if you did do that, there are many ways it could fail (for example, the thief could wipe it clean or not try to connect to a network or the network's location might not be known).  But, you could try it by logging in to iCloud and using the Find My iPhone applet.

  • I can't believe how hard it is to cancel your account.

I’ve been a Verizon Wireless customer for as long as I can remember. It’s been close to 20 years. For several years now, I have added smart phones to my accounts as my children have gotten older. I currently have 4 smart phones and one basic phone on my account for a total of 5 phones. As you can probably calculate without looking at my account, my average bill is in the $300 range. I recently had the most horrifying experience dealing with your customer service/tech support staff over a 3 month long existing problem. I feel it definitely requires your attention and that you should be aware of how you staff handles situations (being your name signs off on the Verizon Code of Conduct)
In early December, my 12 year old son’s Iphone 5 that I purchased for him last Christmas had the screen go black. Being it was less than a year and still covered I then brought it into a Verizon store only to be re-routed to “Apple”. I finally get it over to Apple and after keeping the phone for 2 hours, they told me they couldn’t fix it. They then give me a replacement phone which I assume was refurbished. Ever since my son connected that phone, he hardly receives incoming calls. It would ring twice and go to voicemail. Maybe 1 call would get through in 15 attempts. It was quite frustrating for his mother and I. So I contacted Apple who told me it was a Verizon issue.
So I call Verizon (611) to explain that the phone Apple gave me is no good. But Verizon Tech Support insisted that it is just a simple fix. So on a day I’m with my son (I do not live with him) I call back and speak with tech support. They have him do several options:
Make sure the phone isn’t blocking any numbers
Make sure the phone isn’t on Do Not Disturb
They have him go through all kinds of settings before turning it off for a restart.
Well we finally get a call through and figure it’s fixed.
Well only a few days later, I can’t reach my son. It goes to voicemail after 2 rings. So after several attempts I texted him to call me. He immediately calls me back and says he has no missed calls nor was he aware that I attempted to call him. So I call Verizon back and of course they want me to have the phone in front of me when “trouble shooting”. So after several days go by and I’m with my son we call again. The tech support put him through basically the same steps. This time adding a few “star plus the number calls” to make sure there is no call forwarding on.  Again we get nowhere. No keep in mind my son mostly texts his friends and he can dial out so he isn’t pestering us. But nonetheless, it frustrates his mom as well as myself. So I call Verizon again (right before the Christmas Holiday) and they tell me to go into a Verizon wireless store and get a new SIM card. They said they would put all sorts of notes on my account explaining the problem. So I comply and get the new SIM card. The gentleman at Verizon wireless finally got a call to go through after several attempts. With that we left only to experience the same problem almost immediately soon thereafter.
After the holidays my sons mom kept asking me about the phone and when is it going to be corrected. I called Verizon Wireless again requesting a supervisor. I explained everything and also explained how “tech support” does nothing. I explained how every tech support representative insists “they can fix it”.
The supervisor puts me on hold and attempts to talk with tech support. The supervisor comes back and asks me to give tech support one more attempt. I said surely. With my son being with me, they had him do two different resets and actually had him back up his phone prior. A few days later we notice there was no change. The phone will not get incoming calls. So several days later I call again. I explained everything to a nice guy who said he used to be in tech support for another company and it sounded to him that it was a software issue in the device….but his protocol was to put me through to tech support. They made me write down a few more options for my son to try (obviously he wasn’t with me at that time). They told me after these attempts they would recommend getting me a replacement and they would make note of it in my account
So it’s now early February and I’m dealing with the same issue. I’m at the end of my rope. I call Verizon Wireless and of course, forced to speak with Tech Support. The girl tells me that being I’ve been having an on-going issue, they will just replace the phone ONLY AFTER I GIVE THEM ONE MORE ATTEMPT AT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM. At that point I told her to put me through Accounts Cancellation, I am done. She actually begged and pleaded with me to give her one chance but of course I had to have the phone in front of me. So when I told her I wouldn’t be with my son until the next day, she gladly PROMISED to call me the next day at precisely 4pm eastern.
The next day came and No phone call. Two days later I get a phone call/voicemail saying that She was sorry and that her sister had a baby (I saved the voicemail). Well I no longer had my son and his phone in front of me so I didn’t call her back.
Sunday February 9th, around 9pm I call Verizon Wireless to cancel my account. Two other carriers offered to pay any penalty  or cancellation fees I may incur if switching over. I explain to customer service representative Keisha that I’d just prefer to cancel my account. It was the day my billing cycle was to end. It was the perfect time. I explained to Keisha that I will NO LONGER speak with anyone from tech support. That they all want to be super heroes and that they are all too proud to admit that a phone has major problems. Keisha did respect my wishes and said she’d handle things. At first she tried to tell me that my phone is out of warranty but I had to remind her that Apple replaced that phone. Then she finally comes back and says she’s getting me a replacement. She put me on hold for over 20 minutes before disconnecting me. I immediately receive a text apologizing for the disconnecting and that she is working on things and will call me back shortly. She never called back
Monday February 10th, at 3 pm I call 611 and immediately ask for a supervisor. I explain what transpired on Sunday with Keisha supposedly ordering me a replacement device. The supervisor did not see any order placed on my account. The supervisor then said she would transfer me to tech support because if a device was ordered it would probably be through them. So I went along with it. When tech support Eric got on, I immediately asked for a tech supervisor. He transferred me to Greg. I explained to Greg everything I’ve been going through. The whole entire story up until Keisha ordering me a replacement device. He said he didn’t see any replacement device on order. He then went on to say the phone is out of warranty. I had no fight left in me. I asked Greg to put me through to Cancellations. He pleaded with me about the phone and it’s warranty and I kindly explained AGAIN that it was already replaced by Apple. He then put me on hold. He finally comes back and Suggests I go back to Apple……they will simply give me another replacement. I said “No thanks” I’d simply rather cancel my account rather take a full day to going to Apple, keeping this vicious cycle going. He then finally says he will put me through to cancellations.
A lady Barbara gets on the phone and explains that they don’t want to lose me. Explains that I am a valued customer. I explained that for all I was put through on a brand new device I purchased from Verizon, there was no staying. I was completely stressed out. I explained everything from the beginning which I swore I’d never explain again. Barbara put me on hold only to come back and insult me like I’ve never been insulted before. She comes back and said “How about this….how about I make an exception and allow you to upgrade early? I said EXCUSE ME? She said , you get a new device and pay the promotional price….I can even have you pay it with installments. I then asked Barbara what her position was…..she said “Tech Supervisor”. I said I asked Greg for Account Cancellation and he gave me you? She said I’m higher then Greg.
At that point I screamed….”YOU HAVE SOME NERVE INSULTING ME….I PAY $300 a MONTH AND THAT IS WHAT YOU THINK OF ME”. I WANT TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!
Barbara then yells back I WILL SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT NOW.
Now I ask you……Should I have had to go through all of this for the RIGHT THING to be Done?
Years ago, Verizon’s service was above the rest but I have to tell you, over the last couple of years it’s been no different. Dropped calls more than ever and still charging top dollar. Even though I just received my son’s replacement phone I am still looking into other carriers. It’s amazing what Verizon Wireless put me through.
    Thank you for your time!

PORT YOUR NUMBER OUT...T MOBILE WILL PAY YOUR ETF IF YOU GIVE THEM YOUR VERIZON PHONES.

  • MacBook pro + leopard - can't believe apple wrote this software

20 odd years banging the drum for all things apple then this.
thought I'd chuck leopard on my macbook pro (2gig Ram 2.16Ghz with rev B motherboard fix)
started from the dvd ok, so far so good, few clicks later choose the HD and off it went - briefly
"installation has failed please restart and try again"
ok, few minutes later, back to choosing my HD and lo and behold a wee yellow triangle - "you must first reformat this volume" wasn't expecting that. Why??
Mnh, ok, I'll stick to 10.4 for now... oh no you won't, restart (without the dvd in) gets 10 secs into the restart and shuts down automatically. Eh?? press the power button, it chimes happily, 10 secs later (just after the grey screen/logo has appeared) shuts down again
so I shove the dvd back in restart from it and back to the installer and reformat
its was tickety boo 10 minutes before I threatened it with leopard. Never ever had to reformat as part of an OS upgrade before, luckily, for once I had backed it all up onto an external
so back into the leopard installer, format HD, gets 3 mins in, "installation has failed because some folder or other could not be created restart and try again"
which I do - few times each time different errors, I checksummed the dvd, even sta and let the installer check the dvd prior to installation all seems ok
whats going on for fecks sake?? this is an apple OS upgrade, not some dodgy other OS
anyone else (and I think I know the answer already) having/had similar issue. is it a pandemic or just particular machines configurations

    Hi all,
    I want to repost this comment I made on another thread about Time Machine;
    Hi,
After reading through this tale of woe I must say it is so frustrating when a machine doesn't work as expected.
I really think that it was a mistake for there to be an update option on the Leopard install disk. I feel it will be a rare circumstance that a system will be in good enough shape for that update to work well. Just think of what the installer has to do. It goes through every inch of tiger and changes what it needs t to make it leopard. How many possibilities are there for something to be missed? I am sure it is thousands. I did the update and my very fast 2.4 CD Macbook pro turned to molasses. Time machine worked sort of as long as you didn't do anything else with the machine.
I realized then that the update was not the way to go.
I would suggest everyone having trouble with any part of Leopard, by trouble I mean really non functioning parts not just an occasional glitch in graphics or mail doing something weird, Should back up just your data the best way you can and do an erase and install. I know this means finding all of the install disks of .dmg files but think of the time you are spending being frustrated with a broken computer. You know that after a clean install you will be functioning at least. There will be bugs. This is a .0 release. Those of us brave enough to try it have to deal with the issues. I agree there should be a bit more info from Apple about the potential snags but i seriously doubt that they can second guess all of them. I do believe that the update method was misleading.
I have been using Leopard a lot and I find it very functional. Lots of great innovations. Just give it time.

  • I can't believe it takes this long to create a DVD...

Ok, I just bought a new Intel iMac 20" Dual Core 2.66 ghz with 2 gig of RAM and iDVD has been sitting on the Burn step with a message of "Writing..." for about 6 hours now.
I've burned data DVD's before and it took about 45 minutes on my old PB G4 867 mhz.
Is this thing hung, did I do something wrong, or does it take these insane amounts of time to burn a true DVD?
Here are some stats on what I put on the DVD:
215 photos as a slideshow with Dissolve transition
1 MP3 files for background music
5 small video clips I took with my digitial camera
Used one of the standard themes

You're not giving us enough information. Tell us more about the
5 small video clips you took with your digital camera. What format were the movies originally taken in? How did you get these movies into iMovie?
Was the original audio shot in 12 bit or 16 bit?
and why are you using mp3 as opposed to aiff for audio? iDVD works best with aiff (mp3's are also possible but often more problamatic in iDVD).
Essentially you have many potential variables as stated above that can cause iDVD to literally spin its wheels for hours on end before you ever get to a final product in terms of a completed iDVD.
The iDVD Help Menu is your friend. Direct quotes follow:
Preparing QuickTime movies to work with iDVD
If your video-editing application can export to QuickTime, you can create movies that you can add to your iDVD project. iDVD supports most video or image files supported by QuickTime.
QuickTime movies smaller than the standard DVD size of 720 x 480 (NTSC) or 720 x 576 (PAL) are scaled to fit the DVD window, which may decrease the image quality.
For best results, in the QuickTime export settings of your video-editing application, choose NTSC-DV with a frame rate of 29.97 or PAL-DV with a frame rate of 25. Choose No Compression for audio and set the sample rate to 48 kHz.
Not all QuickTime formats can be added to your iDVD project. For example, MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files, QuickTime VR movies, and movies with sprite or Flash tracks cannot be added.
The following video and image formats are not supported in iDVD:
    Copyrighted or protected videos.
Movies saved in thousands of colors using the "none" compression setting in iMovie.
48-bit color images (16 bits per color). To use source files in one of these formats in iDVD, save them in a supported format.
Aurora uncompressed files. For best results, export Aurora clips as DV-format video before importing them into iDVD.
QuickTime VR, MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, Flash, streaming or encrypted movies, or QuickTime spanned movies. You can't add MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files to an iDVD project because they don't contain standard video tracks.
    Adding sound to a slideshow
Adding a soundtrack to a slideshow can enhance the mood or tone of the slideshow, provide information, or tell a story. You can use a recorded voiceover, a song or entire playlist from your iTunes library, or music you composed in GarageBand. You can also use any audio files that QuickTime supports (including AIFF/AIFC, Audio CD, AAC, MP3, WAV, and MPEG-4).

  • Can´t believe how Applecare works!!!

I send them my ipod because it has a sad icon when it gets started.I told them that it has been for two weeks in my car without being used or charged and that after trying to charge it again this icon appeared.
Now the problem is that my ipod had the charging side bended because it accidentally falled down on Christmas but this has not given me any problem throughout all this period. It´s incredible to realise that the Applecare just in the same day they have recieved my ipod they give it back saying that it has been accidentally damaged and that is the reason why it doesnt work.Well, that can´t be the problem beacuse with the damage it worked perfectly. So, i just want to say that they should care more about the work and "exhaustive" analisis they do and really evaluate the damages not just looking at the ipod, looking for something bended or scratched and then ending their analisis by saying the customer that the warranty doesnt cover the problem why it doesnt work is because it has been accidentally damage.
Well done...I expect some kind of better support and eficient proffesionals not that kind of treatment beacuse is totally disrespectful.
    thanks

If you left it in the car for two weeks it may have suffered even more damage, but if it fell hard enough that it bent the iPod it was only a matter of time before it failed and this is not covered by the warranty. They may have indeed opened your iPod and discovered logic board damage due to the fall.
Was this a sad ipod icon you saw?

  • HT6114 Can someone indicate how long this update is supposed to take?

I started my update yesterday at 5PM and it is still going this morning at 8:45AM.  I have heard this update can take a while since it affects many applications but am not sure this is norma.  The progress bar shows 99.999% completion.  Any recommendations?

    Rabbeni,
I’d downloaded the combo update from Apple, and I think that installing that had completed within ten minutes or so. You can try holding down the power button for several seconds to force your MacBook Pro to shut down, but I would recommend it starting it up for the first time after that in Safe mode to ensure that the forced shutdown didn’t leave your filesystem in a damaged state. (You can then restart from the Apple menu to get back into normal mode.)

  • Can't believe Im asking this but,....

...how do you open the bottom DVD tray? I know about the top one opening with the upper right key but what about the other tray? Someone told me to push option and then that same key but that doesn't work.

  • The new iOS 6 is draining my battery so fast I can't believe it. Any ideas?

I can't believe how fast it's draining my battery. Seriously they have to fix this or let us downgrade. 4 s doesn't get 4 G like the i5 so we shouldn't have this bad of a battery drain. If I knew it was going to be this bad I never would of upgraded. Now I'm going to but the battery case but apple still has to do something about this. Anyone have any ideas or opinion on this?

Totally agree. My battery last 2-3 hours, even after I turned off location services, location services, auto-brightness, and a million other things. APPLE, PLEASE COME OUT WITH A FIX SOOOOON or else I'm switching phones. I need a phone to last at least a DAY for emergencies, etc. PLEASE, we're begging you! Any other ideas? My iTunes on my phone also doesn't play my songs right away...it takes like a minute to load and play a single stinkin song! So lame

I move folders from my internal hard drive twice to an external hard drive.  Now I believe Lr does not know how to find my photos.  What can I do to get this cleared up.

Jim has a very good suggestion. There are many factors at work here:
    1) How are you connecting the external drive to the computer?
    2) How big are files (329 x 1MB is not the same as 329 x 25MB)?
    3) What is your computer specification?
    4) Do you have any power saving settings on (in particular something that would send the computer/hard drives to sleep)?

    Hi,
If you have made a backup at any time of your iPod in iTunes, it should be in Preferences, under Devices tab.
    In iTunes
    Open iTunes Preferences.
From the Preferences window click on the Devices.
Once you are there you should see a list under "Device Backups:".
Hover your mouse pointer to the device and in a little while it should display the serial number of the device (with an iPhone it will also display a phone number used with it and the IMEI code and with an iPad it will display the IMEI in addition to the serial number).
