Cannot connect to microsoft services.

I purchased a macbook however i cannot connect to ANYTHING Microsoft. By this i mean remote desktop connection, my hotmail email account as well as windows shares. I get invalid password for every medium i try use. I have been through several forums and the only thing that does actually work is a numeric password to connect to these services, but for security reasons this would not be a good way to go for me. It worked initially with 10.7.4 but after the updates are applied it was neer the same. I have tried all the way to 10.8 and yet nothing. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

The installation steps are understandable and I’ve followed all steps you basically described … couple of times…and I end up with the same error message: “Following error occurred during Microsoft Azure Backup SnapIn operation.
Error details: The Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent cannot connect to the OBEngine service. Verify that the OBEngine service is present in the Services Control Panel and that the port 6049 is available."
The Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent (obengine) service is up and running (Started/Manual).
When Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent SnapIn is closed and reopened the same message appears in the SnapIn window immediately after opening.
Yesterday I created new backup vault, downloaded and installed Agent, registered server with new credentials, scheduled backup, clicked backup now and …oops same error message…thus
looking for ideas.

  • Error: "Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service on SSP" SCSM 2012

I have the SSP installed on a Sharepoint 2010 server.  The web portal is installed on the SCSM 2012 management server.  When opening the SMPortal I get an error message at the bottom

I have manually modified the web.config on the portal for SSL and the Application Settings in Sharepoint IIS per the guidance of others.  I'm able to open the service in a browser.  Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Http and https is bound on both the content server and the portal. That didn't work. Same error message:

  • PowerPoint - Present Online - Error starting online presentation - Cannot connect to this service. Check your network connection and try again.

    "Present Online
    Error starting online presentation
Cannot connect to this service. Check your network connection and try again."
On March 31, we starting experiencing this issue across our entire domain. We have not made any changes to our network configuration. We are using the same ISP, routing hardware, computer hardware, software versions and group policy settings as we were on March
    30.
The issue appears to be related to network connectivity.
Here is what I have found so far:
We have three networks in our building and two ISPs.
Network-A uses ISP-A and is affected by the issue. Network-A is our corporate domain.
Network-B uses ISP-B and is affected by the issue.
Network-C uses ISP-B and is not affected by the issue.
If I take a Network-A domain member and launch PowerPoint while connected to Network-A and ISP-A I am unable to upload PowerPoint presentations.
If I connect the same computer to Network-C, the issue persists.
If I close PowerPoint, connect to Network-C, and reopen PowerPoint while connected to Network-C, I am able to upload presentations.
A non-domain computer is affected by the issue if PowerPoint is opened while connected to Network-A or Network-B, but unaffected if PowerPoint is launched while connected to Network-C. Again, in this scenario, switching connections while PowerPoint is open
    has no effect.
The issue appears to be caused during PowerPoint start-up and not while attempting to share a document.
Microsoft is either unwilling or unable to find a resolution and has finally resorted to simply ignoring my calls, voicemails, emails, and ticket requests regarding this issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a brief description of our configuration and what I have tried so far.
    Windows Installer Version    5.0.7601.18493

The problem seems to have fixed itself, the computer may just have needed to be restarted.

  • Failure - Cannot connect to Microsoft SQL Server on localhost

    Hi!
I have a sqlserver installation on localhost and I want to connect with sqldeveloper.
I fill connection name, username, password, hostname: localhost port: 1433
and then click on retrieve database.
I get the following error message: "Status: Failure - Cannot connect to Microsoft
    SQL Server on localhost"
I don't know the reason. I can use another connection to another ms sql server
and it's no problem, but can't connect to localhost.
I have special signs in my computername, for example a "-". Is this the problem?
    How can I solve it?
    Thank you
    Andreas

I am able to successfully connect to my local SQLEXPRESS instance using the following settings:
    Hostname: localhost
    Port: 1433/DBName;instance=SQLEXPRESS
Even though I use this to connect, I cannot open a tcp connection to port 1433 via telnet. I believe this goes hand in hand with specifying the instance. As I understand it, there are two ways to specify the port, one is directly, the other is through a named instance (another port is used as a service to look up the correct port). SQL Server 2005 appears to prefer named instances instead of specific ports. When "instance" is specified, the port can actually be any number, the driver apparently ignores it.
The Retrieve database (list) appears to be only for informational purposes. I have to specify the database in the Port field (DBName) regardless of what I have selected in this list.
    Hope this helps!
PS: Retrieve database will give that error until instance is specified in my case.

  • HP Color Laserjet PRO MFP M177FW Cannot connect to web services

I bought a HP Color Laserjet PRO MFP M177FW  today and I set up it. It can print and scan over wireless network. However, It cannot connect to web services correctly. I set the DNS numbers with google DNS addresses. I changed its IP address with manually. The IP address is unique. Normally It doesn't enable/remove webservices. But when I restart it, it can do for few minutes. It can take an e-mail address but It doesn't print any information sheet. When I try to print a sheet It says "Connection Problem" at first few minutes and later it says "Connecting"and it waits, there is no error message. What am I suppossed to do? Please help me.

  • Laserjet Color MFP M276nw Cannot connect to Web Services, tried every suggestion on forum

I've tried every suggestion possible on the forum. I opened up all ports suggested by HP support on my Belkin wireless N600 router. Changed DMZ to IP address on printer. We even directly wired ethernet to printer, still cannot connect to Web Services. Now I have to wait till April 4 for a engineer to call me back. Everything else is working fine. I can print wirelessly from my laptop & smartphone. Just cannot access Web Services, oh & firmware is up to date on printer & router. We changed DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4.
    This question was solved.

It sounds like you have done everything to connect the web services.  Web services will not connect if you are on a guest network but if you are connected via ethernet it should be on the right band.  What is the printer's IP address? Sometimes it can be too high. Is this for a company that has a proxy on the network?  How far away is the printer from the router?  Are there any metal shelves, wireless devices or anything else near the printer or between the printer and the router?  Check that the router is on Channel 11.
--Printer Does Not Connect To Web Services--
Have you heard back from the engineer?  I am anxious to know how it went.  I am happy to help if they don't, otherwise keep me posted on what happens.  I possibly have one more step for you.

  • BPC 7.0 Server Installation Problem - Cannot connect to reporting services

I am upgrading from 5.1 to 7.0 version for SAP BPC.  Everything went smooth on the development server (single instance installation including SQL Server 2005 developers edition 32bit, web, reporting and application services on the same server). I tried to repeat the same process on the test server, and the installation went off the rails.  I started with clean installations of SQL Server 2005 on both servers.
When I try to install the BPC server software, I get to the point of access to the report server, and everything stops. I get the following message: Cannot connect to reporting services.  I have verified the reporting server name, and I have verified that the server name is correct in the installation panel. I have also verified that the reporting server is configured, started, and that there are no errors.
    Any advice?

    Hi Sorin,
Thanks for the tip, but this was not the case.  The problem was solved by re-loading the OS. Using Windows Server 2003 gave an issue during the re-installation of the SQL Server database. The problem was in the installation itself. After a clean install of both the OS and SQL Server, then SAP BPC 7 worked. The installation does require a number of tweaks, particularly, in my case, the entire Management console must be configured, even if not being used.
    This problem is now solved.

  • Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service - Error when opening SM Portal

    Greetings,
I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this issue and I have tried all suggestions I have found on Technet.
Basically, I had the SM Portal working on a test VM.  I am ready to use it in production but it is not working.  I deleted my test VM and built a new one.  On it, I have SharePoint 2010 Foundation and the SM Portal installed.  I have
a valid self-signed cert.  the FQDN is correct (hqsrva24.dds.local) in both SharePoint and also in IIS.  I also made sure under Application Settings on the SM Portal IIS site points to the FQDN of the SCSMWebContentServer.
So what happens when I go to the SM Portal (https://hqsrva24.dds.local:444/SMPortal) is it prompts me for a logon, which i put in and the site comes up.  But at that point the Silverlight portion is not loaded and I immediately get prompted for a logon.
I have tried several different logons, all of which have full access to the site in Sharepoint.  Eventually I get the error in red at the bottom of the screen "Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service"
If I try to access the Web Content Server service on its own (https://hqsrva24.dds.local/Servicehost/services/DataAccessService.svc), I get a prompt to logon and none of my logons work.  i eventually get
an unauthorized error. However; If I log into the server which SM Portal is on and go to https://localhost/Servicehost/services/DataAccessService.svc, I get no prompt to login and I get a "Metapublishing for this service is currently disabled."
I'm out of ideas at this point, barring completely starting over (not just the SM portal but all of the Service Manager Suite).

Man I've had this problem so many times and its almost always a different solution. Are you sure that either the Domain Users group or NT Authority\Authenticated Users have permissions to the site and service. remember the the two prompts are authenticating
different things: the Sharepoint site and the application site (silverlight). Make sure users have permission in both SCSM and in Sharepoint.

  • Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Essbase Server. Error:Essbase Error(1051293): Login fails due to invalid login credentials

    Hello All,
I am getting following error, when trying to expand essbase from calculation manager, "Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Essbase Server. Error:Essbase Error(1051293): Login fails due to invalid login credentials",
    I am using EPM 11.1.2.1
    Thanks
    Yash

If you have moved the server to a new data center and an issue has started occurring then it could point to the change.
Are you able to log into essbase directly with Maxl using the same account?
If you run a registry report do you see any of the configuration with IPs instead of DNS/hostname
    Cheers

  • C310 place to set DNS address(es)? Can print wireless but cannot connect to web services.

Wireless connection setup with no problem for printing (static IPs all around with WEP). Opened port on CA firewall but not on router(?) Can print across wireless network but cannot connect to web services. Thinking that I need to enter DNS(s) but cannot find anywhere to enter them.

    Hi,
Open your browser and type in the ip adress of your printer. This will bring you to an internal page of the aio. On the networking tab you shouild be able to set your dns.

  • 6500A-710n cannot connect to web services

I was on web services and receiving printing apps.  Suddenly, my apps stopped printing.  I have tried all the other solutions, resetting to default, etc and still cannot connect to web services.  It asks for a proxy.  I have put the google proxy 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 but these don't work.  What proxy & port can I use?
    thanks for your help.

    Hi Nancy,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your print apps not printing as scheduled.
To better assist you, would you please provide some further information:
Has there been any changes to your home network (new internet provider, new router, or new network password)?
Are you able to send to print jobs to the printer's ePrint email address?
    Thank you.

  • Cannot connect to the Service Manager portal WCF service...again

I've ran into this error a few times now, but I have usually been able to fix it. This time its being more stubborn.
This is a brand new 2012 R2 portal running on a brand new SharePoint 2010 SP1 two server farm. The web content server is installed on both of the webservers just like Travis has it in this blog: http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2012/05/04/how-to-configure-the-self-service-portal-sharepoint-site-or-the-web-content-server-for-load-balancing.aspx
We have it F5 load balanced with a 3rd party cert which is working fine. We get to the site and the app loads, but instead of seeing the only catalog item I have published, I see the red error at the bottom stating that it cannot connect to the WCF service.
I've double checked all my bindings in IIS and the web.config. When I look in the web server event log I see this:
    System.ServiceModel 3.0.0.0 Event ID 3
WebHost failed to process a request. Sender Information: System.ServiceModel.Activation.HostedHttpRequestAsyncResult/37916227 Exception: System.Web.HttpException: The service '/ServiceHost/Services/DataAccessService.svc' does not exist. ---> System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: The service '/ServiceHost/Services/DataAccessService.svc' does not exist.   at System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostingEnvironment.HostingManager.EnsureServiceAvailable(String normalizedVirtualPath)   at System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostingEnvironment.EnsureServiceAvailableFast(String relativeVirtualPath)   at System.ServiceModel.Activation.HostedHttpRequestAsyncResult.HandleRequest()   at System.ServiceModel.Activation.HostedHttpRequestAsyncResult.BeginRequest()   --- End of inner exception stack trace ---   at System.ServiceModel.AsyncResult.End[TAsyncResult](IAsyncResult result)   at System.ServiceModel.Activation.HostedHttpRequestAsyncResult.End(IAsyncResult result) Process Name: w3wp Process ID: 3004

    Any ideas?
    - Get on the floor, do that dinosaur

For me I can reach it via the direct server name,
https://Server:444/ServiceHost/Services/DataAccessService.svc works and displays a page
But it fails when trying to go to the load balanced name:
    https://SelfService.blah.com:444/ServiceHost/Services/DataAccessService.svc Fails
When I use IE11 and do a network check it shows its getting a 404 error on /ContentHost/ClientBin/ServiceCatalogSilverlightModule.xap.
Network guys who configured the F5 can't see any network issues blocking the request. The F5 isn't doing SSL offloading, certificate is on the software portal server.

  • Cannot connect to Analysis Services instance

    Hi,
I'm new to analysis services and have been following through the tutorials here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms170208(v=sql.100) for SQL Server 2008.
I've tried to deploy in visual studio 2008 and it gives an error saying it cannot connect. I've got sql server 2008 installed and I attached the 2008 Adventure Works database to my local default SQL instance. I can connect via management studio Ok. Also,
when creating the data source in visual studio I hit the "Test Connection" button which was also OK.
In management studio when I hit the connect drop down button in the Object Explorer, I get the option to connect to Analysis Services. When I do this it comes up with the server name "(local)" and uses Windows Authentication (I'm logged on to Windows as
Administrator). However, this fails with the following message "Cannot connect to (local). A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running. (Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient)"
I'm really stuck on this - has anybody got any ideas what might be going on?
    Cheers

As Todd mentioned, check whether the SSAS Instance is running. Also check whether you have a default instance or named instance. In case of named instance you have to provide also the instance name, when connecting in the form (machineName\InstanceName)
or for local instance (locahost\InstanceName) or (.\instance name).
To determine instance name, launch SQL Server Cofinguration manager ans check SQL Server Services. The instance name is in the Parentheses listed.
If you have installed the instance and forgot to add yourselves as an administrator of the instance, and have UAC enabled, you have to Lanuch the SSMS as an administrator to rise the priviledges. Then connect to the instance and add your username explicitly
    as administrator of the instance.

  • Laserjet 200 color M251 cannot connect to ePrint service

The printer is installed successfully to my home network wirelessly and I am able to print from my wireless laptop. When I have tried to enable the ePrint it fails to connect. My first try was by using my browser to go to the printer's IP address. On the "Web Services Setup" page I clicked the Enable button and waited. It failed to print the Information Sheet that the instructions indicated. So I went to the printer's touch screen and tried to print it from there. That produced the error message "Connection error: 500..." indicating it could not connect to the service. I then shut off both my PC' firewall and my router's firewall and retried. No joy. All the PCs and my Iomega NAS have no issues with connecting to the Internet so I cannot think of why the printer should have a problem.
I'd appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

    @Old60sHippie
Okay something is wrong here because resetting the printer should not have required you to reinstall the software on your PC. So I am a little puzzled at that on one. What version of the software did the cd install? You can find this out by going to printer properties and the about tab. If you don't have the following version: Version 61.117.01.1530. Then I would definately consider uninstalling your current software and updating to this one.
Now to wireless direct - this is not required for web services but if you turn it on you will be able to print directly from your mobile device to your printer. If using this method you will have no access to the internet. If using this method for printing, remember to hook back into your wi-fi for other services.
Again, I would encourage you to update your software driver/installer before going any further.
    m251 Product page
Now back to the other issue of connecting to web services, I have tested this repeated this morning and have been able to successfully disable and re-enable web services with the information sheet printing out. The only difference in our set up in mine is networked. So if you don't mind and have the capibility, try networking your printer, see if you can connect to web services then set up the wireless connection. A little clunky but our goal is to get you connected...
