  • Use of Planning Table (MF50) in Capacity Levelling with Production Order

    Hello Experts
I wish to know that is it possible to perform Capacity Levelling in planning table (tcode MF50) with respect to a Production Order ? It is known that MF50 is used in Repetitive manufacuring to do the capacity levelling with respect to Planned orders. But in our discrete manufacturing scenario we want to use planning table to the capacity levelling with respect toa Production order.
Any clue or help pertaining to this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jayanta

    Dear ,
MF50 is does the cacapcity leveling based on mateail -run schedule order (planned order ) where as in discrete manufacturing , when you run the MRP ,  MRP system assume Infinite Capacity  and schedule the order as per your selection in MD02(2,1,3,3,2)  and then you convert those planned order to Production order .Here you checkied the Capacity in Production Order level .
In stanadrd SAP  , it is not possible to use MF50 for discrete production order.
In discrete order or process order ,  do the caapcity leveling , there are seperate planning table available based on Over all Capacity Profile and Schedule type .This can be done  in following way :
    1.CM31-Production Order Wise -Tabular
    2.CM23-PO wise -Graphical
    3.MC88: Ruf Cut Planning
    Work Centre Wise : CM21 -Graphical , CM22-Tabular Planning Table .
Make sure the below set up before  you carry on the Capacity leveling :
    .Define time profile in OPD2.
Define the strategy profile in OPDB
Define the Overall profiles in OPD0.
In OPJK  maintained check capacity with SAPSFCG013 profile for your production order type
In OPU3 , scheduleing parametre s: Generate Capacity , Scheduling Type , Automatic Log ,Start date in Past as per your req.
In OPJU , chekc the contol tab of the scheduleing as per OPU3
In OPKP- Production scheduling paranmeters assing the overall capacity profile -SAPSFCG013  with finte scheduling tick.
    Master Data :
1.Materials Master define the Production scheduler and production scheduling profile
2.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
3.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling.
Hope this will help you .

  • Routing update in capacity leveling CM21

    Hi Collogues,
We have simple production type. Production order with production versions.
16 production lines (work centers) with different rates.  1 operation per routing.
I want to use in capacity leveling CM21 to dispatch planned/production orders on these 16 lines.
The problem is that when I dispatch a pln/prd order in CM21 on a work center nether routing nor production version gets updated.
    Your suggestion are welcome.

    Solution found.
Set for each production version "Production line".
Then go Mf50 switch to graphical planning table. It updates routing when I move planned order over work centers.

  • Display the PO in the capacity leveling

    Hi,
in the capacity leveling CM21 there is a table section.
In the table section I get Production order and planned order.
I just want to display the production order in this sections or in the oders pools.
How can I customize the system.
    Thanks
    Dede

    Hi
Use CM25 and the selection profile you can select order.
    Thanks

  • WORK FLOW & PROCEDURE FOR FOR SNP CAPACITY LEVELLING HEURISTICS RUN

    Dear Sir / Madam,
Currently, we are  taking  only SNP Heuristics Run  and the output viz. planned stock transfer requisitions are being passed to PPDS as such. But now we feel, SNP capacity leveling can play a vital role in getting more fine tuned results from PPDS. So, We wants to start using the SNP Capacity leveling run. We shall like to know the work flow / procedure for taking the SNP capacity level run i.e. what inputs should be properly reviewed before taking the SNP capacity level run and what shall  be its output..? Kindly let us know the procedure / work flow for taking the SNP Capacity Levelling Run.
Your early reply in this regard shall be really appreciable.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Hi Sanjeev,
as in any other module, correct master will play a key role in getting effective results in capacity levelling. you will need to check the following master data while setting the system for capacity levelling :
Consistency in BOM in R/3 and PPM/PDS
Consistency in Routing in R/3 and PPM/PDS - the actual through put on the shop floor should be the same as that in the routing and in the PPM/PDS. unless this is in sync, no amount of levelling can return good results.
Maintenance of shift - again as present in the shop floor.
you can provide the dump of the above master data and ask the shop floor engineers to validate the data as it exists in the ssytem. you can do the consistency check between R/3 and APO yourself using queries. Once they have validated this master data and the the actual master data reflects in your system, i think, the job is more than 50 % complete.
also you need to check the lot sizes, rounding profiles, and period factor, becasue all three combined play a major role in giving good or better results after levelling.
you may also check at what level you want to run the levelling. whther the bottleneck is at the finished component level, or 2nd level, etc. you may check whther you have discrete manufacuring or REM and if you really want to levelling on REM order.
then you need to analyse, what is the lengh of horizon you want to run the capacity leveling on. sometimes it makes no sense to run on the entire horizon because if capcities are already overlaoded, you will not achieve the desired results.
hence depending upon the level of your understanding and comfort of the planner (who will be using this result), the horizon can be increased grdually.
if you are starting to implemement capcity levelling, you can sumulate runs and show the results to the planner and check if the standard capacity heursitics satisfies their requirement. else you can go for custom requirement.
you will also have to decide on the stratagies, priorities, etc based on the business requirement.
i think the above should give some starting direction to implement capcaity levelling in your system.
award points if you find this useful.

  • After capacity leveling  dependent requirement s to be adjusted

    hi
iam planning a fert product on 30 th agust for 100nos
created md61 -pir for 100 nos
done mrp run at mdo2 and got scheduled dates for 100nos which has gone beyond the requirement date as i was chhosed leed time scheduling  and made dependent reqirement proposal for the order operation date.
here the important thing is the work center which i nedd to produce was fully engaged inthe period (schedule period which system proposed)  .hence i made capacity leveling and planned order dates were changed again
    which are actual producion dates
after capacity leveling my planned order was firmed
my problem here is  the dependent requirement proposal date also
need to be changed with respect to firmed planed order.
    how to achive this
    i tried with opu5
but no changes in dependent reuirement proposal (planned order)
    plz suggest
    sasikanth
    vst-it projects

    hi
i tried it but unfortunatly it is creating a new planned order and giving exemption messge to the firmed planned oder as cancel the proposal
which is not at all acceptable
      means for a single PIR
i made mrp run AND got planned order , after leveling the planned order was firmed
means my pir was satisfied with this
i made mrp run without changing PIR dates and quantity by expecting that it should propose a new dependent reqirement
but system created a new planed order to  pir date which sholud not happen.
    plz elobrate your view

what r the Prerequisites for Capacity leveling ?
What setting we can do to run the capacity leveling?

    Hi,
Assign the correct capacity formula at workcenter .
Actiavte the Finite scheduling tick at Capacity header view & maintain the all relvant capacity data at capcity header.
Activate the "Generate cap req' check box at

  • Capacity Planning & capacity leveling

    Dear All,
If we have two Sales Orders in the same date for two different materials which will use the same work center for processing, and if we run the MRP then two planned orders will be generated. Here according to the capacity planning the system will calculate the number of days required to process in the work center and the job will be assigned to the work center for planned order 1. Then when the system tries to allocate jobs from the planned order 2 to the same work order then the system will show the over load. Then we have to do capacity leveling to remove the over load.
But the clientu2019s requirement is that when the system calculates the available capacity of a work center in the planning horizon, the system should not consider the time for which the job is already assigned from the planned order 1. And the system should assign the job from the planned order 2 to the work centeru2019s available (capacity) time excluding the (capacity) time for which the job is already assigned from the planned order 1 in that planning horizon. If there is no Available capacity in that planning horizon then the system shall show the over load and then the client shall go for the capacity leveling.
How to go about Please help.

    Hello Satish,
    Let me understand you issue:
You would like system to give overload only when there is no capacity available in planning horizon.
Did you try using tabular planning board ? Tabular planning board uses bucket principle. It will give overload only when the whole bucket is full. It will not check the date and time of planned order # 1. While allocating capacity to plannined order # 2, the bucket's full capacity will be checked.  In your case try allocation bucket size equal to your planning horizon period.

  • Capacity Leveling of Work Center

    Hi all,
I have a problem with Capacity of Work center (WC).
I have a Internal Activity, and i assigned a WC for this Internal Activity. WC's capacity is 100H/day for 1 number of element.
Work of this WC is 250H, duration 5 days, number of element 1. Default capacity of this WC is distributed by Distribution Key define in Activity. . And they are divided equally between factory days in 5 day. That is capacity requirement is 50H/Day
So, i want to edit this WC's capacity following value:
    Day 1: 100H/day
    Day 2: 50H/day
    day 3: 0H/day
    day 4: 0H/day
    day 5: 100H/day
How can i do it?? I try to use Dispatch Manually but i cant solve this problem.
Please help me for this case.
    Thank all.

    Dear
Capacity leveling depends on some of the basic set up of Capacity Requirement Planning .You need to have proper CRP set up frist .
Couple of check points : -
Did you work centre is relevent for finitie scheduling in CR02-Capacity Header and wht is the over laod percentage for work centre ?
Did you have Capacity Requirement Related Set up like Over all profile , time profile , Startegy Profile -OPD0?
Did your Capacity Check -OPJK -Order Control at order level are active for availibilty Check 1 and 2 and assinged Over all Profile ?
    Set up :
1.Please assing a operation control key like PP01 where Details Capacity Check and scheduling is active .
2.In CR02-Work centre -Capacity Header -You should have Follow check box marked
    1.Releven for Finitie Scheduleing
2.Can be used for multiple Operation
    3.
3.OPU3/OPU5 -Define Scheduling paramter -Mark Scheduling and Capcity Check for planned order or production Order
4.In SPRO -Shop Floor Control-Define Production Scheduling Profile -You need to matian the relevent Parameters like
1.Schedueling Automatically 2.Scheduling Log 3.Adjust Scheduling -Basic date , Depedent Requirement date 4.Scheduling Type -Backward etc .
These are all basic level set up beside CRP overall profile and other profile like strategy /time etc which may in place as you are analysing in CM01.
Please find below some of the useful CRP details : Refer this threads which are self explaintory :

How to dispatch operation to do Capacity Leveling at Work Centre Level :
1.Frist Check the  over load at work centre . Goto -CM07/CM05-give plant only -then hit the Stnadard view -You will find weekly or daily baiss load ( Requirement , Avaliable Capcity , Overlaod etc )
2.Check the week in which days you are tring to dipatch -if you selet the week check box and double clik it will show u all the dataiul load .Basde on the available capacity in other week-days u need to dipatch in CM22/CM31  or CM25/CM21
While dipatching in CM22/CM31-Select the Stragegy button on the top header -Mark Date entry when dispatching  so that when you select the operation of any production order or planned order for certain work centre , it will pop with window having information of Date , Work Centre , Time .Onec you did this you will receive Scheduling log with certain information .
    Hope this helps

  • Capacity leveling. Aim is to have oders scheduled within 1 day if possible

    Hi All,
    I have a list of 10 prod. orders with same basic/scheduled start/finished date= today
In capacity leveling, if i select a whole list of these orders and dispatch them, i get all orders with start day= today, finish date= today+ x days.
I would like to have orders scheduled with start/finish date within 1 day.
I have available capacity of 4 hours per day. Each order takes around 1,5 hours, thus i can have 2 orders scheduled for today, and so on. This is exactly what i need.
My kind question to you is how to setup SAP in a such way.
NB: If i do leveling for each order one by one, then i get what i want: e.g. order is scheduled within 1 day.
    Best Regards,
    Andrey

    Dear Andrey
Your requirement is, Automatic capacity levelling based on the available capacity.
In SAP R/3 PP module, only manual capacity levelling is available. Automatic is possible in APO.
If the requirement dates are same for multiple orders, system will through all the orders in the same date and it will display overloaded. So manually we need to dispatch the overload to the required date.
Please check the below thread also.

  • Capacity leveling - Priority logic

Can anyone explain the logic of SNP Capacity leveling order prioritization when set with ‘No priority’?
I have tested this with ‘No priority’, but the system is applying priority by ‘order size’ on the net demand in a bucket (considering demands not fulfilled in backward propagation).

My question is about the capacity leveling profile that you define in SPRO / main menu / during leveling in planning book. In the profile, we can define one of the following for priority
    - No priority
    - By order size
    - By product priority (from product master field in SNP2 tab)
My question is related to the first option of 'No priority'. When using that option 1, system behaves as if option 2 (Order size) is chosen. I want to know the standard logic that should be applied by the system.

  • Capacity Leveling Problem

If I have an order that requires 85 hours of production, and the work center responsible only has available capacity of 14 hours per day, how can I divide up the order in a Capacity Leveling Planning Table (CM22)? When I dispatch the order, it automatically overloads the work center instead of spreading itself out over several days. When I created the production order I gave it a start date 2 weeks away from the finish date. Yet in capacity leveling, when I dispatch the order, it only goes to one day and overloads the work center by several hundred percent?
Basically, how can I take this single order and divide it up over 7 days in Capacity Planning?

In both the "strategy" box of CM22 and the "capacity" tab of CR02, I have made sure that the relevant boxes for finite scheduling were checked.  However, the system still overloads the work centers.  This would mean that there is a 'finite' capacity in each work center and that each center cannot be overloaded, but my work centers still load themselves to nearly 1000% capacity!  Why is this?  How can I make sure that when a work center reaches capacity, it's quantities flow into the next available slot?
How can I spread the requirements over a period of several dates and not just one?

  • Capacity Leveling in SNP SCM 5.0

    Hi,
I want to use the SNP heuristic followed by capacity leveling in order to enable my customer to check capacity requirements in terms of machine and people resources. The particular requirements are:
    1. no backward/forward capacity leveling
    2. level the capacity across alternate resources
I don't see how I can do 2 without doing 1. I haven't seen a parameter about the number of days allowed in backward/forward leveling (which I would set to zero or to a low number e.g. 2 days)
    Best Regards,
    JL

I dont think you should be using the standard capacity levelling functionality at all if you are not going to level it forward or backward
What you need to think of is planning using Aggregated resources.
In a nutshell you creatae new header resources that are of capacity equivalent to your resources plus alternate resources
Do SNP plannign on the aggregated ( header )resource
Level or trim any excess capacity requirements (levelling wouldve done this for you but you got to specify the direction)
Disaggregate to the member resources based on some disaggregation rules (or you can customize this)

  • How to run mrp and capacity leveling through heuritics.

    Hi,
How to run mrp and capacity leveling through heuritics.
What are the setps required for production planning run this thing in the heuritics in pp/ds?
    Regards,
    Sunil

    Sunil,
APO PP/DS doesn't have a 1-to-1 match for MRP/Cap levelling per se.  There are, though, a limitless number of ways to achieve the results you want.
Start with a basic PP planning MRP - SAP_PP_002, which will should create all necessary planned orders
Then try a DS heuristic to schedule your orders according to capacity.  Schedule Sequence SAP001 is a good starting point.  This can be used to schedule your cap relevant work centers such that they fully load the capacity available, similar to cap levelling.
