Capital Investment Progrom - Copy of plan to budget

Hi All
I've been asked to copy the Capital investment plan to the Capital Investment Budget as well as do a Capital Investment Plan rollover to the next financial year. Having never done this before, could I please have some pointers on what to do, transactions to use and what pitfalls to lookout for? Unfortunately the person who did this last year has left!!

IMCCP1 - Transfer Plan to Investment Program Budget
Mention the IM program details and the Plan version which needs to be copied and set the indicator 'Post budget as supplement or return' as per your business case.
Use T Code-
IM64 - Plan/Budget Transfer from Old Investment Program
Ensure that you've selected the right settings.
I would suggest you try this in test system and carry them out later in production.

    Currently we are using the SAP 4.6C Version.
    Is there anyway to copy the planned version into Cost Center Budget when using the TCODE:KPZ2 (Cost Center Budget).
    SAP has provided the same option when dealing with Internal Orders. We can copy the Planned Version by Edit->Copy View and in Setting->Planned Total Version we can set the version what we want.
    Is there any way to perform the above funtionality under Cost Center Accounting.

  • Copy project cost planning to budget only per year (IMCCP3)

    Dear All!
    Iu2019m trying to find a possibility in SAP Projectsystem to copy cost planning (done for more years) for various projects in planversion 0 to the budget for only one year. It seems that the transaction IMCCP3 only supports the copy of all years and it can not be restricted to e.g. copy costs only for year 2011 into the budget.
    Any clues would be helpful to me.

    thank you for your reply. Budgetprofile is set to values per year. Your idea is good but I fear that this is not suitable for a normal end user. I'm searching for a solution / transaction with the possibility to copy the costplanning to the budget for a specific year for more projects at a time.
    Interesing: It is possible to copy planned costs from one version per year to another version per year for more projects at the time with the transaction CJ9B but it is not possible for the budget...

    Hi,
    Even though CJ35 and CJ38 are both transactions to perform budget returns, it is important to know that they are working slightly different:
    a) via txn CJ38 you return money exactly for the WBS elements you indicate an amount for. So if you indicate 1 COP for
       WBS element XX alone, the return is only being carried out for this WBS element. Since this WBS element is
       not (directly) attached to an investment program position, this is not a problem.
    b) via txn CJ35, however, as per system design you return money for the WBS element you indicate  p l u s  for all WBS elements lying on the hierarchical path above, in order to guarantee that the budget remains consistent (= check error free).
       So by indicating 1 COP for WBS element XX, the system  also  tries to return the same amount from the overlying WBS element YYY.
    Since this WBS element, however, i s  attached to investment program position of investment program, the system blocks this posting because this program position forsees budget distribution and thus budgeting is allowed via budget distribution  o n l y  (txn IM52) -  see e.g. F1 help for indicator 'Budg.dist. ovrl' in the master of the investment program position.
    So basically you can say that txns CJ35 and CJ36 are not suitable for projects attached to investment program positions that forsee budget distribution. Please check your transaction IM52.
    Please check if this fits with your scenario.

    What you suggested is the ideal approach...
    However, if they say that the budget allocated to capital purposes (70%) applies to both capital projects and expenses and they would like to control it together, but have reports separately, it is not possible with standard SAP...
    If they want to have just one IO for both cap and exp, You can suggest them a work around to capture CAPITAL or EXPENSE in a ref field (XREF1 in BSEG) and you can run KOB1 with XREF1 displayed in it....
    In standard KOB1, XREF1 is not displayed, you have to use Exit COOMEP01 to include the fields you want... Add XREF1 to the Structure CI_RKPOS and write your code in the include ZXKAEPU01 of EXIT_SAPLKAEP_001
    Without an identifier @ the time of booking the transaction in the system (Either by way of IO or a ref field), you wont be able to generate reports later on

    A fixed asset that is in the process of being completed at the time the balance sheet is being produced.
    Typically, assets under construction are shown as a separate balance sheet item for the enterprise. Assets under construction can be managed for bookkeeping purposes in the FI-AA component using asset master records in special asset classes.
    To also benefit from management accounting functions that go beyond the asset accounting level, you can use capital investment measures in the Investment Management component. Investment measures can be managed in the form of internal orders or projects.

    Internal orders can be used for the following purposes:
    Monitoring the costs of short-term jobs
    Monitoring the costs and revenues of a specific service
    Ongoing cost control
    Internal orders are divided into the following categories:
    Overhead orders - For short-term monitoring of the indirect costs arising from jobs. They can also be used for continuous monitoring of subareas of indirect costs. Overhead orders can collect plan and actual costs independently of organizational cost center structures and business processes, enabling continous cost control in the enterprise.
    Investment orders - Monitor investment costs that can be capitalized and settled to fixed assets.
    Accrual orders - Monitor period-based accrual between expenses posted in Financial Accounting and accrual costs in Controlling.
    Orders with revenues - Monitor the costs and revenues arising from activities for partners outside the organization, or from activities not belonging to the core business of the organization.

    Thanks for your answers, the solution would appear to be that the commitments have been accidentally carried forward into 2010 Fiscal instead of 2009 fiscal.  
    There are no Invoice plans set up on the PO's, thanks for that suggestion though.
    The reversal in KSCF does not work and produces an ST22 error dump on our system.
    SAP note 971411 appears to fix the error so we will implement the note and hopefully be able to reverse out the commitment.

    the little late answer to your question is the table IMZO. It links the investment program / positions to internal orders. I found this thread while searching for my own problem which is quite the same:
    In my WebDynpro for ABAP investment planning tool I'm using the FM BAPI_INTERNALORDER_CREATE to create internal orders as a result of the planning process. This BAPI is similiar to the transaction ko01 except that I can't assign an investment program / position to my internal order (this is also pointed out in the help to the BAPI/FM).
    But how can I assign an investment program / position to my internal order NOT using an ABAP insert/update statement on the table IMZO (which links the internal orders and investment programs/positions).
    Does anybody know a FM or BAPI I could use? I really don't like the idea of a self made insert/update into a sap table...

    Does Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) have Pre-build modules Workforce Planning, Capital Asset Planning and Project Finance Planning.
    According to my understanding PBCS doesn't have any pre-build modules. I am not sure whether recently it has been added or not, so I wanted to double check.

    The following is the literature from SAP on the subject. You may find it useful.
    Planning and Budgeting in Any Currency
    Use
    International groups often use one uniform company code currency (group currency) in CO. However, it may be necessary to plan and budget in the respective local currency as the majority of costs will be incurred in the local currency. The local currency is usually the corresponding company code currency.
    Previously only budgeting of jobs (orders and projects) was possible in the local currency.
    From Release 4.70, you can also budget investement programs in the local currency. In addition, it is possible to plan investment programs, appropriation requests and jobs directly in the local currency.
    As was previously the case for orders and projects, plan and budget values for investment programs and appropriation requests are also saved in both the controlling area and local currencies defined in the master record of each object. If you change or re-specify the exchanged rates used, it is now possible to recalculate the values in the local currency using the values in the controlling area currency, and vice-versa.
    In reporting for IM, it is even possible to calculate evaluations in any report currency (plan, budget and assigned values). If the values are available in the specified report currency, they are issued unchanged. If they are not available, they are converted from the controlling area currency into the report currency.
    Effects on Existing Data
    Before Release 4.70, the plan values for appropriation requirements, were only saved in the controlling area currency. This was also the case if a local object currency was specified in the master record for the appropriation requirement. From Release 4.70, the plan values for appropriation requirements are always saved in the controlling area and local currencies. Therefore, you must adjust appropriation requests that were created in an earlier release and use a local currency that varies from the local object currency. The easiest way to do this is to use the program RAIMCRC2 to recalculate the plan values in the local object currency for appropriation requests whose plan values are in the controlling area currency (transaction IMCRC2, menu path: Financial Accounting  -> Investment Management -> Appropriation Requests -> Tools -> Recalculate Currency Plan for Appropriation Requests). Before you run the program, select the relevant option in the Process Control section of the initial screen.
    Effects on Customizing
    Adjustment of Planning and Budget Profiles
    To enable the planning of investment programs, appropriation requests and jobs in a transaction currency different to the controlling area currency, you must adjust the relevant planning profiles.
    To enable the budgeting of investment programs in a transaction currency different to the controlling area currency, you must adjust the relevant budget profiles.
    In the planning currency (or budgeting currency) section of the planning (or budget) profile, you must define the transaction currency in which planning (or budgeting) is to be executed:
    Only in the controlling area currency (default),
    Only in the object currency
    (= local currency defined in object master record ) or
    In a transaction currency chosen at the start of planning/budgeting
    (this option is not possible for appropriation requests).
    In the planning or budget profiles, you must also define the exchange rate types to be used for the conversion of total values that are not dependent on the fiscal year.
    To adjust the planning profiles, use the process steps:
    Maintain Planning Profiles  (investment programs)
    Maintain Planning Profile for Cost Planning (appropiation requests)
    To adjust the budgeting profiles, use the process steps:
    Define Budget Profiles for Investment Programs   (investment programs)
    Exchange Rate Types
    In the fiscal-year-dependent data of the CO planning versions, you must also define the exchange rate types to be used for conversion of plan values that are not dependent on the fiscal year.
    For conversion of fiscal-year-dependent budget values and fiscal-year-dependent plan values of appropriation request variants not yet assigned to a plan version, each exchange rate type is taken from the fiscal-year-dependent data of the CO planning versions 0.
    As the plan or budget values are stored in the transaction, controlling area, and local currencies, the exchange rates used must enable the conversion of the transaction currency into the controlling area and local currencies. Where necessary, the exchange rates used must be extended.
    To enter the exchange rate types, use the process step:
    Define Versions  (investment programs)
    Change Planning or Budget Currency
    If you always planned or budgeted existing investment programs/measures in the controlling area currency, it is not subsequently possible to change the planning or budget currency to the object currency in the planning or budget profiles. This conversion is not prevented in Customizing, but leads to an error when you next plan or budget existing investment programs/measures. Alternatively, you can convert the planning or budget currency into the transaction currency in the planning or budget profiles, and set the object currency indicator as default.
    A similar restriction does not exist for appropriation requests. You can change the planning currency in the planning profile at any time.
    Use the process step under "Adjust the Planning and Budgeting Profiles".
    Detailed Planning
    When you call up detailed planning from structure-based cost planning or revenue planning, the standard SAP planning profiles are used, to which the standard SAP planning layouts are assigned. These planning profiles cannot be changed in the planning transactions. Import the standard SAP planning layouts 1-401-IM, 1-402-IM, 1-403-IM, 1-701-IM,  1-702-IM and 1-703-IM using the transaction OKBF from client 000 in your client.
    To execute the import, choose the process step:
    Import Standard Planning Layouts.
    Reporting Currency for IM Reporting
    In IM reporting, if you want to be able to specify a reporting currency that is different to the controlling area and object currencies used in the investment program items or subordinate appropriation requests and measures, another exchange rate type is required for the due conversion of plan, budget, or values into the reporting currency. You define this exchange rate type in Customizing for the program type for the investment program to be reported ( Group Reporting).
    To enter additional reporting currencies, use the process step:
    Define Program Types  (investment programs)

    You can follow thsi steps :
    - Use transaction "cj3b" to display all documents posted (one document by project),select user name and date and action (in text field)
    - This amounts are the difference posted by the systeme, not the atcual amounts of budget.
    Means if Budget was 1000, and you copied your plan =1500, then in the docuemnt you will only see +500.
    - if you want to go back to your budget (1000),
    then you need to extract all your actual budget (1500)  and minus ( - ) the amounts form the document  (+500).
    - then load the new values to a plan version, and the copy all to your budget.

  • Report Internal Order needed - showing Plan and Budget Values?

    Hello,
    I want to create a report (Report Writer/Painter) which shows for example in one column the planned values and in another column the budget value of an order group.
    I know the standard reports S_ALR_87012993 - Orders: Actual/Plan/Variance and the other standard report S_ALR_87013019 - List: Budget/Actual/Commitments.
    My question: Is it possible at all to have these both values plan and budget by order/order group in one report? - Or it is not possbile because these values are stored in different tables and different libraries?
    If it is possible with Report Writer, I would be very glad - if not, is there any other chance (e.g. individual programmed report)?

    both are report painter reports for libraries 6O1 and 6O2 which are based on reporting tables CCSS and RWCOOM.
    Try to find all value fields that you need in 6O2 / RWCOOM as this is the "big brother" of 6O1/ CCSS.

    Can some please tell me how to create an Asset for Capital Investment Measure.

    First you have to create master data using asset class AuC.
    You have define asset class for Capital Investment Measure (AuC class) in t-code : OAOA. And still in the same t-code (OAOA), you choose "investment Measure" in box "Status of Auc".
    If you choose "Investment Measure", the assets under construction in this asset class can be created solely in relation to capital investment measures (internal orders or WBS elements).  So you cannot create and post in Asset Accounting directly (Example post using t-code : F-90).
    If you use WBS Elements then you can post to the asset for Cap Invest Measure using t-code : CJ8G or CJ88.

  • Capital Investment order settlement

    There are some AUCs created via capital investment orders. But the problem is These AUCs were creted during the time when the Depreciation area is de-activated for the particular class. After that there s GR, IR & Payment all with reference to PO.
    One point tp note, as the AUCs were created when the dep area is in-active, the depreciation tab is in active in the AUC master record. When you are running theorder settlement (KO88), there is an error message saying "NO DEPRECIATION AREA DEFINED FOR THE AUC NO:12345".
    The solution I am able to see as of now is:
    1. Create a new investment order so the new AUC
    2.Reset the clearing (Payment document)
    3. Reverse the IR
    4. Reverse the GR
    5 Change the order reference in account assignment tab in PO
    6. Do the GR
    7. DO the IR
    8. Clear the Vendor Account
    9. Settle the new order
    But not sure how to delete the old AUC, I am able to close the old order in this fashion. But not in a position to delete the AUC. Any idea?
    Also please suggest me if there is any other easier way, because this will take a hell out of time.

    Transferring all the costs out of the CI Order into a new one with a new AUC attached should automatically zero & deactivate the old AUC.
    Depending on your setup, a journal from old --> new Order should suffice.
    You may then run settlement to the new AUC with Depreciation Areas activated.
    I don't think any of the drastic measures outlined are necessary.
