  • Capitalization of Assets after MIRO ( Invoice Reciept)

    Hi Gurus
Our system allows for capitalization of Assets after MIGO ( Goods Receicpt) Client wants to capitalize assets only after MIRO ( Invoice Receipt). System should not be able to do capitalization after MIGO.
Do we need to make any changes to configurations??
    Thanks
    Regards
    Satish Kumar

    Dear Satish,
When u r procuring assets thru PO, at the time of MIGO ur asset account will get hit & will be capitalised. Also, at the time of invoicing ur GR/IR account will get a corresponding effect.
Now if your client want NOT to capitalise asset during MIGO then try with the below option:
Any asset that has to be procured will not be directly procured as asset. Every new asset to be purchased from outside will have its AUC account created. Now amount lying in AUC acount is not termed as capitalised. Now say u r procuring 10 chairs. Create a AUC for these 10 chairs. Make PO with this AUC. So whenever u will do MIGO ur asset will not get any effect but the amount will get posted in AUC. So this will solve ur purpose of not capitalising at time of GR. Later after invoicing, user can capitalise complete AUC or partial AUC using AIAB & AIBU.
Hope this will help solve ur query.

    Ajay

  • Capitalization of Asset Under Conustruction(Investement Measure)

    Hi Gurus.
I have created a Internal Order for AUC and  posted expenses to that order. At the end of the period, i have settled the order using T.Code KO88.
How to capitalize part of the amount from that AUC to main asset. When i am trying to transfer to the amount using T.Code ABUMN, system is not allowing.
Please suggest me in this regard.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ganesh

    Hi,
Have you checked in the AUC asset class as Investment measures?
If it is Investment measures, you need to give second settlement rule for the same Internal order for transfering the value from AUC asset to main asset. Then do settlement again.

    hi friends,
i am tryind to do the ABNAN(Asset transaction -post capitalization), when i entering the current date as original value date it throwing the error "The date entered is not in a closed fiscal year" and if i am trying to enter the 2006 date i.e. last fiscal year it throws the error as below
SYST: Error when caclulating fiscal period --> F1
    Message no. AA655
    Diagnosis
An error occurred while determining the fiscal period 00000000 in period version Z1.
    Procedure
There are three things which could lead to this error:
    1. The period version Z1 allocated to the company code has not been created. In this case, you should create the period version.
    2. The period version has been created, however the allocation of calendar dates to the fiscal periods has not been correctly performed or in particular with calendar-dependent period versions has not been completely performed. Check whether the date entered 00000000 for period version Z1 has been maintained and enter the missing period.
    3. The calendar date 00000000 is invalid. This is a system error. Contact your Systems Specialist.
can you please help me out and this is very urgent for me.
    Thanks nd Regards

    Hi
Pls run the depreciation run AFAB again. The system should post the depreciation on remaining assets. Even after this you are not able to post depreciation, then use manual depreciation to post the depreciation using t code ABMA
Pls assign points if the information is useful to you

  • Regarding the Reguralization of  Asset capitalization.

    Dear Team,
On regularization of Provisional Capitalization Entries in  System especially in the case of provisional capitalization considered in previous Fiscal Year and regularization of the same is done in the Current Fiscal Year we are encountering following issues.
u2022     Creation Asset Master Record with capitalization date of Previous Fiscal Year
u2022     Posting of correct depreciation in  System
The scenario is explained with an example below.
    Provisional Capitalization Value Rs.120000/=
    Date of Capitalization u2013 01.11.2008
    Rate of Depreciation 10%
    Depreciation on Provisional Capitalization Rs.2000/=
On regularization of provisional capitalization in Fiscal Year 2009 on 31.01.2009 in  System we are encountering the following issues.
System is not permitting us to create Asset Master Record with Capitalization Date as 01.11.2008.
If we create Asset Master Record with the First Date of the Current Fiscal Year ie., 01.01.2009 then the depreciation of Rs.2000/= provided in the last fiscal year is not updated in the System.
Please note that while regularizing the provisional capitalization we used to reverse the provisional entries considered in the Financials of the previous fiscal year.
Manual Adjustment of Depreciation will be a audit point.
Hence please provide us a suitable solution to over come this peculiar issue.
    Regards,
    Suma.

    Dear sir,
I am having one moreissue related to decapitalization.I am giving you theclear senario o the below.
Initially we used to capitalize an asset on a particular date and after say a month or two we were forced to de capitalize the asset when we avail duty credit on those assets.  In other words Capitalization takes place on gross value in the first instance and de capitalization takes place when we avail duty credit in the second instance.  The de capitalization entry is posted in  System through F-02 Transaction Code.  In this scenario the system is calculating depreciation as per example given below.
    Example:
    Asset Value   -   Rs.2,00,000/=
    Date of Capitalization - 1.12.2007
    Rate of Depreciation u2013 10%
Duty Credit availed/De cap on u2013 1.02.2008 say value Rs.20000/=
System Calculates Depreciation on Rs.2,00,000/= from 1.12.2007 to 31.01.2008  and on Rs.180000/= from 1.02.2008 onwards.
If we look at this case in a practical way then there is an excess charge of depreciation on Rs.20000/= for 2 months i.e.,(from 1.12.2007 to 31.01.2008).
Kindly guide us how to post the de capitalization entry in  System so that system itself automatically reverse the depreciation already posted in System on Rs.20000/= for 2 months earlier.
    Regards,
    Suma.

  • Asset Post capitalization.....

    HI Experts,
Please clarify me on the below issue...
    1. Asset post capitalization means, if we forgot to capitalized asset for the closed fiscal year, then we have procedure to capitalize those assets... that will be calling as post capitalization of Asset..
    Am i right?
2.Is it possible to create a sub asset (post capitalization asset) with the same capitalization date of main asset?
If it possible, is the system will calculate depreciation from the beginning?
    Thanks in advance
    satya

    Dear,
    Post Capitalization is for.....
Post-capitalization represents subsequent corrections to the acquisition and production costs of a fixed asset. An example of when you need this type of correction is if you neglected to add expenditures and costs linked with the acquisition or assembly of an asset to its APC in a fiscal year that is now closed.
2.Is it possible to create a sub asset (post capitalization asset) with the same capitalization date of main asset?
    Yes.
And it must calculate depreciation from that date.

  • Capitalize asset without posting to accounts

    Dear all,
We have a scenario, where we like to capitlaze asset in Tax depreciation area (which is not relevent for Posting to accounts) and in the book depreciation area, we need to expense it out.
Please provide your valuable inputs to deal this scenario.
i have tried creating Transaction type limiting to Tax Depreciation area, but finally not able to find a way to capitalize a asset without positing to accounts and capiltalizing only in Tax Derpeciation area.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinu
Thats not the right way of doing it...
Still if you want to achieve that -
    1. Un-tick the "Identical values" button in Dep Area Definition.. You might have currently set up Dep Area 15 to adopt values from Area 01
    2. Create a new tr type (Copy of 100) and restrict it to Tax dep area, as you did
    3. Now, execute T code ABSO with this trans type....
But, I repeat again, the solution I gave earlier is the std way of doing it...

  • Is it possible to lock the Asset after capitalization - GR Posting done

    Hi,
The Fund Reservation configuration containing with Fund, Fund Centre & Commitment Item is linked with Asset at the time of creation of PR.
If we change the asset in PR, the new Commitment Item is showing after GR posting.
At the same time old commitment item is showing through Invoice Posting.
Is it possible GR reversal after capitalization of Asset ?
Invoice raised through FB60 not MIRO.  Hence, Invoice No. details are not shown in PO History.  Payment made and the capitalization impact shown in the Asset Master also.
    Please confirm the following:
If the open GR (capitalized) in PO - Is it possible to lock the relevant Asset?
If the open GR (capitalized) in PO - Is it possible to block the PO?
Expecting few valuable guidelines from MM forum.

  • Not able to capitalize asset

    Dear all,
My user is not able to capitalize an asset and getting the error AW605.
Through my understanding I got to understand that I need to clear the down payments first.  So I asked the user to use T code AB01 and clear the down payment. The user did so. But still he is getting the same error when he is trying to capitalise the asset.
Now, I would like to know whether clearing the down payment using transaction AB01 with transaction type 0181 was correct.
Secondly, how to resolve this issue and come over the error AW605.
looking forward to your earliest response.
    Regards,
    Sudish

    Hi Sudish,
You can give the Vendor account along with the documentdate/postingdate/companycode/currency and then select the option process down payments. It will list the down payments for the vendor, from that choose the document belonging to this asset and execute it.
I guess you can get the vendor account number either from your PO.

  • Change in Cost Center of Asset Master after capitalization of an asset

I  would like to know Can we edit Asset Master Cost center data field after capitalization of asset.
I want to change Asset Cost center after acquisition of an asset during asset transfer location.

  • Link Maintenance Orders to Capitalize Asset

    Hi friends
I'm implementing the SAP PM Module. We are doing maintenance to a diferent kind of equipments. The most important one, are trucks. These trucks are very expensive, so they are linked with asset.
Now imagine this: We open a Maintenance order, and we replace the engine, the tyres and oil. So all of this costs are going to the Maintenance Order. The problem is that, the change of engine, should capitalize the asset, and maybe, change the value of the equipment life, but the cost of the tires and oil, shouldn't capitalize the asset.
How can I solve this question?
I don´t know if the question is clear enougth....
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You can certainly define different receiver in the settlement rules for these orders. For the orders which take care of engine, define a receiver the asset and for oil, etc. - define some cost centre. When you will settle the orders, the engine costs will go to asset and the oil to cost centre expenses.

  • Vendor Credit Memo posting to Asset when invoice did not

    Hi Experts,
We are on SAP 604 and have the following scenario.
PO to purchase an asset at $10,000.  (not an inventory item).
Goods receipt has NOT been done.
1st invoice comes in but is only for half of the asset.  (.5 qty at $5,000)  does not post to asset since there is no GR done.
    Postings:
    Debit 201010 $5000
    Credit 201015 $5000
2nd invoice is data entered wrong.  It is for the remaing half but Acts Pyble enters quanty of 1 instead of .5.
    Debit 201010 $5000
    Credit 201015 $5000
When reversing the second invoice (or even just entering a credit memo), instead of the posting doing a simple reversal of hte invoice like this :
    Debit 201010 $5000
    Credit 201015 $5000
SAP posts to the asset even though there has yet to be any other postings done to the asset (no GRs and no invoices have posted to the asset).  Credit Memo posts like this:
    Credit 201010 $5000
    Debit 201015 $6666.67
    Credit Asset: $1666.67
Please confirm whether you see this posting as an issue for the asset.  I have posted an OSS message to SAP and they are saying the system is working as designed unless I gather enough business requirements to do a development request.  I'm trying to see if this posting is just an issue for my organization.  Typically we would not expect a Credit Memo to capitalize the Asset.  - Or if you know of a fix, please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Cindy

If you do not want negative posting/ balances in your asset, you can configure the depreciation areas to allow positive values only. That way if balance is negative (as in your example), posting is not allowed.

  • Impairment in new asset fixed (FI-AA)

We are implementing SAP ECC 6.0  and IFRS scenario. We want posting impairment in a new asset, ABZU Transaction (write-up), in IFRS 60 valuation area. This posting doesnu2019t work because ABZU transaction required accumulate amortization.
How can we posting impairment in new asset.
Which transaction type we must be used?
Net book value positive in area 60 at fiscal year start
    Message no. AA647
    Asset affected: 000600300021-0001

    Dear Sider,
Transaction ABZU is used normally when you forgot to capitalize an asset in a fiscal year that is now closed. Also, there can be a case where depreciation you calculated in the past were too high. You must now correct this error using a write-up in the current fiscal year.
In your case, an impairment has to result in reduction in the book value of the asset and not a write-up.
The impairment can be done using Unplanned depreciation or Manual depreciation.
Once you enter the Unplanned depreciation, it will get posted after you do a regular AFAB depreciation run.
    Hope it solves your issue.
