Certificate Not Verified

There seems to be a problem with Certificates.
My younger brother has played an online game called RuneScape for several years. What used to happen on our old mac was the first time he would load the game a cirtificate thing would pop up, and he would have to accept it in order for the page to load. Now when he uses Safari 3 I get a popup saying
"*Certificate Not Verified*
Code will be treated as unsigned"
This happens with any computer when you use Safari 3 to try to load the page, but when he uses firefox with the new Mac, it works fine.
It also might be helpful to know that this happens when
"Signed Applet Using Default Java (Recommended)" is selected
but it works fine if you select
"Unsigned Applet Using Default Java".
Help please?

this TOTALLY fixed the problem for me
(which started i believe when i deleted the cache, cookies and security settings stuff in camino, sometimes apparently the certificates don't like, preserve themselves or something...):

  • Running signed applet on Java 5: Certificate not verified

    Hello!
I am running my signed applet, it uses Bouncy Castle provider bcprov-jdk15-125.jar.
My applet.jar is signed by my own certificate. When running from a browser, I get error message:
Certificate Not Verified. Code will be treated as unsigned. Clicking on details button, read:
Check leaf key usage failed in certificate. Then goes the stack trace.
What is the problem? I was successfully ran it on J2SDK 1.4.2_05.
    Thanks.

I get this same error for a signed webstart app in Java 5.0.
    In 1.4.2.x it works fine.

  • Certificate Not Verified for Wifi WPA Enterprise

    Hi all
I have a MDM server to deploy profile to all enrolled devices (iPhone4s, iPad...etc) for wifi setting (WPA2 PEAP SSID: M_WEP_ENT).
But I found one issue, if users have ever connected to M_WEP_ENT and accepted Certificate.
After deploying profile to the users' devices, it shows "Not Verified" in Certificate while these users try to connect the wifi with specified SSID.
And I also install this profile with iPCU, but there is no this problem, iOS just directly to ask users for input user/password again.
The following is my profile plist setting, does any idea for this issue ?

  • New Wireless clients certificate not verified

Whenever a new clients login using SSID Green, using cisco WLC 4404, there is a prompt saying certificate is not valid. No doubt, clients can connect once they accept the certificate. Is there anyway I can remove this prompt? We have ACS doing authentication. The certificate is signed by authorized bodies? Please advice

    I have indeed.
Pushing the profile can happen a few ways. If you use ISE you can push a profile in auto enrollment. Whereby you create the wireless profile (SSID, Security, Add Cert). This is delivered to the user automatically during enrollment.
Another way to make profiles and manually push is with the Apple Configurator.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/apple-configurator/id434433123?mt=12
You can also use a tool like Jamf for MACs to make and push profiles.
    Hope this helps ..

  • Site Recovery Manager (SRM) v6.0 fails to pair sites - certificate chain not verified

I have used the default self-signed certificates throughout the vCenter and SRM setup.  When going to pair the vCenters, I get "Server certificate chain not verified".  These are 2 new VCSA 6.0 VMs (embedded PSCs for each) and 2 new Windows 2012 R2 servers to run SRM 6.0.  I can view the Site in each respective vCenter but can't pair them.  Does anyone have suggestions?  We have tried valid SSL certs before on our original 6.0 deployment and continuously run into these certificate chain not valid errors.

Yes, I always used the FQDN.  This issue was actually the result of having an incorrect vCenter topology.  The error resulted in us spending hours with support all around valid or self-signed certs.  In the end, I had to completely redeploy new VCSA 6.0 appliances and follow the 3rd recommend topology.
    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2108548
With this setup, it also links the vCenters and it seems to be much quicker than Linked Mode in previous versions.  I was able to pair the sites in SRM without issue.  FYI, I am using self-signed certs all around at the moment.  SRM is very finicky about trust with SSL certs so I won't try implementing valid SSL certs until I get some working failovers.

  • "Not Verified" WIFI connection certificate

    Hi everybody!
I am dealing with a new setup for my company to use WPA2 Enterprise using Radius.  My actual configuration works fine but I receive an alert the first time that I try to join to the network with my Iphone (client).
The certificate that I am using is not signed. I want to know if this "Not verified" message will dissapear if I send my certificate to be signed by some trusted CA (like VeriSign).
I want to do the sonnection as smooth as possible for the clients.
    Thank you for your help

I'm having the same issue, but it is only with iOS devices.  I've tried different platforms (iPod, iPhone, iPad) and also with different iOS's (iOS 5, 6 and 7).  It's a VeriSign trusted cert.  It does not happen with Android or Windows Mobile devices.  Any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
When I import the cacert.org root certificates to iphone 6.1.3 the profile shows as imported but "not verified" - anyone else had the same issue / found a solution?
I have tried direectly importing rom the cacert/org website and also installing via the apple configuration utility.

What I used command is as following
openssl smime -sign -in company.mobileconfig -out signed.mobileconfig -signer server.crt -inkey server.key -certfile cert-chain.crt -outform der -nodetach

  • "Not Verified" message in the certificate prompted while connecting to eap-tls SSID.

While connecting to a eap-tls SSID I get "Not verified" in the certificate prompt. Need to know why the "not verified" comes in. The certificate is from Geo Trust CA.

Is there anyone who find the solution for this "Not verifed" warning when using iphone for wireless authentication. I run into the same issue when using microsoft 2008 NPS server as radius server for wireless authentication. The whole certficate chain seem to be installed on iphone including intermediate CA ---GeoTrust SSL CA besides Geo Trust CA. I really appreciate if anyone can offer some advice. thanks

  • AS2 Receiver Error: MIC not verified # unexpected-processing-error

When sending out a test message using Seeburger AS2 receiver channel I get the following error:
    MIC not verified # unexpected-processing-error
So obviously this problem is related to digital signature I think? However I get the same error even if digital signature is deactivated in the communication channel.
Do you have any idea on this?

    Hi ,
I have been facing this error and tried all the refresh and reimporting of certificate.
    "MIC not verified # unexpected-processing-error"
could you be bit specific how to fix this ?

  • Could not verify signing in resource

    Hi all.
I've been banging my head against a wall for the past 2 days trying to figure this out to no avail. I'm simply trying to use Java Web Start to distribute my Swing application but always receive the same error dialog :
    com.sun.deploy.net.JARSigningException
Could not verify signing in resource : ***.jar
I'm using Netbeans 6 and have tried manually signing all the jars as well as the netbeans web start self-signed feature : both give the same behaviour.
I have used jarsigner -verify -certs which confirms the certificate for the jar and I've tried with 1.5 and 1.6 jdks.
I've searched tonnes of websites and forums but can't find the answer - hopefully someone can help.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks Joe.
The jar in question is a 3rd party library.
I have checked it with jarsigner -verify ***.jar and get the following output :
jar is unsigned. (signature missing or not parsable).
So that should confirm the original jar is not signed. Unless you can hide a signature from jarsigner -verify with obfuscation?
Also, I think they removed the single signature requirement in jdk 6.
Still completely stuck on this unfortunately.

  • Could not verify signing in resource (JAR + Pack200)

It seems I always ended up getting JWS error I never have had before these days...
    Ok, long story short:
    - this is about a JavaFX 1.3.1 app with packed JARs
    - changed computer, switched from JDK 1.6.0_22 that I used for several month for signing and pack files to JDK 1.6.0_29 and JDK 1.7.0_02. This issue did not happen with JDK 1.6.0_22.
    - it's currently deployed to an internal web server for testing purposes, files and URL are correct and can be reached from my workstation.
    - every single JNLP file validates OK with JaNeLA.
    - the certificate used to sign the libs is valid.
    - the offending JAR file report as being Ok and signed when checked with jarsigner.
The error from Java Web Start is:

Thanks for the suggestion and let's hop they put some process to prevent similar issues from hapening again in the future.False hope. Programming is hard, release management is hard, testing is hard, people make mistakes, budget restrictions cause mistakes to slip through, etc. etc.
The most important factor in all this really is us and more specifically our willingness to properly report problems.

  • MIC not verified # authentication-failed

    Hi,
We are getting this error while trying to send messages from XI through AS2:
    MIC not verified # authentication-failed
Can anybody please let us know the reason for this error.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shabarish & Prateek,
Thanks a lot for the information.
I've also checked this information in Seeburger document and I agree this can be an issue with the Certificate.
But these scenarios were working fine for a long time, the Certificates are valid till 2016.
And the most important thing is,we get this error in 1 message out of 100-200,other messages are sent successfully.
So,if this is an issue with certificate, how is it possible that it affects only 1-2 messages not all.
I had never seen this error before and suddenly we have started getting such errors for a number of scenarios for last 15 days.
I believe ,there can be a problem with Certificate for 1 customer but if it is more than one ,it is hard to believe that all of them have problems with Certificates and at the same time.
I tried to search for notes related to this problem.
Is it something related to MIME content,as mentioned in note 1287778?
    Kindly let me know.
    Thanks.

  • MAC OS X 10.6.8 (safari can not verify website)

    Hi
For past few days i am having problem when i try to visit any website it show a massage "safari can not identify the address of the website www..... then below he message is "The certficate of this website is invalid". this message is coming up on all the website
    thank you for your help

Running the combo updater should fix this for you. It should update the certificate that is out of date that is at the root cause of the problem.
You posted in the Snow Leopard forum so here is the link for Snow Leopard combo. Check under the Apple in the Menu bar > About this Mac to verify you are on 10.6
    Combo updater: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update v.1.1 - 1.09 GB
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
If you still see the error after running the combo updater, open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities.
Under Keychain Access in the Menu bar select run Keychain First Aid (see FIX for: "Safari can't verify the identity of the website" - certificate not valid for more details on running Keychain First Aid to repair certificates)

  • Deployed 2012 R2 NPS for wireless 802.1x Workstations work fine, but iPhones state that the SSL is "not verified" when connecting to the network.

NPS server is a 2012 R2 in a fresh domain. I'm using a Go Daddy standard SSL. I emailed myself all the GoDaddy Root and intermediate certs that I could find and installed them on the iPhone but I still get the "not verified" after entering the
username and password. Once I click Accept, I'm able to connect just fine to the wireless network.  Will a Go Daddy cert not work or am I missing something else here?

    Hi,
From my point of view, to figure out this issue, we need to find out how does iPhone validates the certificates chain.
Due to this issue is more related to iPhone, to get better help, please post your question on the iPhone forum below,

    Hello,
Please follow the Ed's suggestion. Try to apply a SAN certificate to check the result.
Here is an article for your reference.
