Change name of Activity type

Hi Gurus,
My PP consultant wants to Change name of "labour" instead of "Labor"in activity type.
Pl advise whether he can chnage and if so how he can change.

I have change text through KL02,but when i enter again in KL02,the system shows:
Act type COAr Short Text Language Valid from to
LABOR 9000 Labour EN 1.4.07 31.3.99
Hence it is still showing LOBOR but in short text it is coming as "LABOUR"
Pl advise,how i can change "Act Type Col" and put Labour in said column.

Update of project planning after change in activity type

Hello Experts,
we are doing manual activity input planning ( CJ40 ) via customer report per year equal to project dates.
This means if we change activity plan price ( KP26 ) in future years, we need to recalculate the planned values in project system.
If we manually change values in CJ40 after changes in KP26 the system calculates the new monetary value in background
Example: Planned on project 10 Hrs a 20€ = 200€ // change price of activity type to 30€ // Plan 1 additional hour in CJ40: Monetary value changes to 11 Hrs a30€ = 330€ and posts +1 Hr with +130€ price difference.
Is there a opinion to adjust/update the monetary value after changes in KP26 without changing plan values?

Hi Frank,
I am not sure what kind of project cost planning you are using. Usually it is either direct WBS cost planning with CJR2 or cost roll up from Network Activities and Orders or ECP.
The system will take AType price relevant for the period. If you have 100 hours with price 20 for Year N and 50 hours with price 30 for Year N+1, the planned cost will be 2000 + 1500 = 3500.
CJ40 is the Overall Planning, but you still can select a year (as a period). In the Overall view you have no button for Activity Input, it will show up only when you select a year.

Mass Updation of PM Activity Type

HI Experts,
we have copied IW72 program to ZIW72. Now our requirement is to mass change of PM Activity Type of the selected Service Orders from the list. Is there any Function Module or any solution, how to update PM Activity Type of a Service Order.

Using the Function Module IWO_MASS_CHANGE or IWO_MASS_CHANGE_EXEC Maintenance Activity Type can be changed in mass. Appart from Maintenance Activity Type many other fields in the FM paramters can also be changed in Mass.

Using the Function Module IWO_MASS_CHANGE or IWO_MASS_CHANGE_EXEC Maintenance Activity Type can be changed in mass. Appart from Maintenance Activity Type many other fields in the FM paramters can also be changed in Mass.

I want to chang date for activity type in master data of activity but i m not enable to do this ,plz tell how can i chen the date for activity type ,my current date is 2008 but i want to change this 2007.

You cannot change the validaity date, but what you may do is copy the activity type with a new validaty date. All the setting should be the same.

IW41: automatic update of activity type when changing the work center?

Hello colleagues,
when doing a time confirmation with IW41, we have following problem:
In the PM order the operations are assigned to a neutral executing work center, as it not known which individual technician is completing the operation later on.
Now when the individual technician is entering the time confirmation with IW41, system is proposing the work center indicated in the operation from the PM order, then technician is overwriting the work center proposal with his own individual work center ID (and pressing Enter), but the activity type is not getting updated automatically. So the technician must jump to field "activity type" and choose the correct activity type.
Is there any solution (hopefully with user exits!) to have the field "activity type" automatically updated with the one indicated in the work center, which was entered manually?

yes, as usual all PM work centers have only 1 activity type assigned in the costing tab.
We also checked the settings of the activity type (KL03), but we just found one difference: the price indicator was set on 3 "Determined manually" - we've changed to 1 "Plan price, automatically based on activity" (..same setting as for the act. type of the work center with working update of act.type).
We tested already all possible constellations and scenarios, but we have not found any good reason for the behaviour.

How to change validity period for an Activity type or Cost centre?
Can we change the validity period once created?

Please note this can be done.
Go to Edit Cost Center
Goto Edit, Analysis Period.
Create a new validity period say today until 3112999
Change the data you want and save.
When you go into the CC again it will show two validity periods.

Activity Type Changes in Work Center

Hi Experts,
We now want to change the activity type in a work center, and hope all the routings that have the work center being changed automatically. Currently, the existing routings can not be changed automatically. Is there a way to have all the routings changed as well?

Hi,
In Costing tab next to the activity you should find a check box for Reference Indicator. If this is ticked, then the changes done in work center will be automatically read into routings.
If it is not, then you will have to manually change in routings. For individual, you can use CA02, for mass work with CEWB, working area as SAP_OPERATION

Change validity end date on activity type

Is there a way to change the validity end date of an activity typre. Currently it is 9999 we would like to change it to 2011.
We would like to use a particular activity to cost current standards but dont want to use it for planned estimates that we will create for 2011. I am assuming if the validity ends in 2011 it will resolve the problem. I know we could create alternate routings and different production version but I am trying to avoid that and see if we can find a short cut.

I executed the report but it says ,"The deletion could not be carried out, plan records still exict on cost center for activity type." I have deleted every thing from kp26 for that particular combination of activity type and Cost center.
Any ideas as to what is happening!!

Activity type change issue in CAT2

Hi Experts,
In CAT2 timesheet we are using two fields, Activity type and Operation/Activity. The problem is, when we change the Operation/Activity field to another value the Activity type field does not change automatically. How can we set the fields that relate to Operation/Activity to change automatically when we change just Operation/Activity field value?

Its very good question.
Once after making some BOM changes or rate routing changes if you are not updating or doing the
preliminary cost estimate once again in KKF6N,then while doing backflush in KKF6N,the system books
the old values or it picks the old BOM or rate routing only.
The made changes will not get refelected in MFBF.
You can check this in MFBF,say after making some BOM changes without updating the same in
KKF6N ,do the production booking in MFBF and you will be seeing the system picking the previous
BOM only.
Check and revert back.

Want to change the cost element for a activity type (KP26)

Hi,
I want to change the Allocation cost element for an activity type in KP26. I have already changed the cost element in the activity master data in KL02. Now i want to change it in KP26. I am trying to delete the existing line item in KP26 to create the new line item with the new cost element, but system not allowing to delete the existing one. It throws the error message ""Allocations with XXXXXXX/XXXX (Cost center/Activity type) exist ; deletion not possible". Can someone please help me to change the cost element?

Thanx for you people for helping me. i havin gone doubt here. If i am deleting the existing line in KP26 and create new line with appropriage cost element will it be cause the existing datas? I don't want to go for another activity type, because our process is a complex process exist all over the world in more than 300 company codes. So i want to use the existing activity type but want to change the allocation cost element alone. Is there any possibility to change the cost element alone?

Change of Allocation Cost element in Activity type during Fiscal year

Hi,
An activity type was planned on a cost center in KP26 with a wrong cost element. Then actual activity allocations were posted with this acitivity type. Now I have reversed all actual allocations on this cost center with this activity type and keep trying to delete the plan line item in KP26 to be able to change the cost element.
Unfortunatelly the deletion is not succesful. I get the Message no. K8098:
"Costs already posted under cost element 12345. No deletion possible
Procedure
First reverse the posted record under cost element 12345."
I have reversed the allocations. The Balance on the cost center is 0. However the reversal seems not to be sufficient.
Do you have any idea what needs to be done to be able to delete the plan line item in KP26?

Follow this note it may be helpful. I guess you need to delete the records from table before doing anything else.

Change of activity type of operation overview through object dependency

Hi,
I am working on variant configuration project and I am using the global object dependencies (procedures) to change the BOM item quantities, Operation standatd values and activity types in super bom and super routings. When I use these dependencies BOM quantities and routing standard values are changed but activity types are not updated.
If anybody have any idea about this, how to use the dependency to update the activity type? or any prgram error / any OSS note for this?
We are working on ECC6.0.

Hi Venkat,
As you may be having idea of usage of reference characteristics usage in changing the fields because you are already told that you are able to change the Qty field, same like this you need to have the reference char relevant to this field and table .
Now the activity type comes from the work center. so you need to change actvity type in work center or you have to change the workcenter ( expected workcenter should have your required activity type) by the object dependency. It's looking a bit thoghtful one. Just think in your functionality it will work.

Cost element/activity type planning upload

Hi,
When doing the cost element/activity type planning upload via KP06, can I assign only one characteristic in the element definition level? Because I want to put in the excel upload layout the cost elements, cost centers and activity types. But ECC 6.0 is allowing only one characteristic in the element definition level. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Hello,
This is controlled by planning are in your planning profile. You need to use "Cost ctrs: Cost element/activity inputs" planning area for this purpose.
Hope you are conversant with Integrated excel upload.
To do integrated excel upload of cost center plan data.
IMG ==> Controlling ==> Cost Center Accounting ==> Planning ==> Manual Planning User Defined Layouts - Create your own layout or copy from standard layout and change it.
IMG ==> Controlling ==> Cost Center Accounting ==> Planning ==> Define User Defined Planner Profiles
Copy the SAPALL to ZSAPALL. You cannot change SAPALL as it is standard.
In ZSAPALL planner profile, select proper planning area and enter your layout.
Tick Integrate Excel.
Once the popup for KP06 comes, you need enter the data and save it. It would generate the file name.
With the same file name you need upload the plan data by using KP06.
In KP06
Extras ==> Excel Planning ==> Upload
Select the file as prepared in accordance with format at the time of generating the file name.

      Implementing Business Add-Ins (BADI)
The use of object orientated code within SAP has lead to new method of enhancing standard SAP code called
Business Add-Ins or BADI's for short. Although the implementation concept is based on classes, methods and
inheritance you do not really have to understand this fully to implement a BADI. Simply think of methods
as a function module with the same import and export parameters and follow the simple instructions below.
Steps:
1.     Execute Business Add-In(BADI) transaction SE18
2.     Enter BADI name i.e. MB_MIGO_BADI and press the display
        button
3.     Select menu option Implementation->Create
4.     Give implementation a name such as Z_MB_MIGO_BADI
5.      You can now make any changes you require to the BADI within this
        implementation, for example choose the Interface tab MODE_SET
6.     Double click on the method you want to change, you can now enter
        any code you require.
7.      Please note to find out what import and export parameters a
        method has got return the original BADI definition
        (i.e. MB_MIGO_BADI) and double click on the method name
        for example within MB_MIGO_BADI contract is a method
8.      When changes have been made activate the implementation
