Change settings of an active collaboration room

hello everybody
we have an active collaboration room. when this room was built, some iview-settings were given. now i have to change some settings, that the users of the collaboration room have more functions visible in the menu. now my question is: how can i change (iview-)settings of an active collaboration room without building the room again and that no data is lost? can you list the necessary steps, please?
thank you for your help!
greetings
flo

Hi Flo,
I hope you have already updated on SPS17, because unfortunately your request is only possible from this release on.
The steps how to transfer changed collaboration room workset properties are described in detailed here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/168eb1c3641a75e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
If you still have open questions, let me/us know.
Hope this helps,
Robert

  • Activity Report for Collaboration Rooms

    Hi,
Is there some kind of Activity Report only for Collaboration Rooms ? Like we have Portal Activity Report for entire portal.
Please give me your suggestion. Helpful answer are appriciated.
    Regards
    Prakash T

    Hi Prakash,
You can run the room usage analysis to check how often particular rooms have been used in a specific period. Please check out the following page on help.sap.com:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/44/512abdba4b1193e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
You might also have a look at the Room Inventory List which is linked on the page mentioned above.
    kind regards,

  • Help: Collaboration Room Bugs/Issues

    Hi,
I have created my own collaboration room template by duplicating the standard Information Site template.
However, i am facing a few issues related to collaboration room creation, which might be standard features/bugs in collaboration room.
    1. When i create a new Room, all the users of that room (members as well as administrators) get full access to room documents, headers, news, Faqs etc.
The permissions started working fine when i changed permissions in KM Content --> Room_Extensions.
All the existing rooms showed the correct permissions.
However, whenever i create a new room, every user gets full permissions to all the parts of the room.
This is despite the fact that i have removed all the users from full permissions to the room_extensions folder in KM and reset the child permissions.
    2. I have attached the iView com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer/iViews/ com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomMemberList (Team Members iView)to my room template.
When i create a new room based on my template, i do not get the users specific to a particular room.
What i get in the Team members list is all the users listed in the Contacts list in Collaboration Launch Pad.
    3. When i try to preview some of the iViews stored in com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer, i get an exception. On attaching these iViews to the Collaboration Rooms, i get a message stating "Invalid Item ID" index.xml.
I get the same message even after attaching these iViews to a collaboration room template and creating a room based on the template.
Any help regarding these issues would be highly appreciated. Full points for helping me with these issues.
    Regards,
    Vibhu

    Hi Vibhu,
    here my comments:
    1) These are the standard settings (every room member gets full access) for the permissions of KM content created during a Room creation. Since KM can't distinguish between the room roles, we can't set 'better/stronger' permissions. You can only set manually permissions on concrete users.
    2) It seems that you have not set the mappings for this iView. For the RoomMemberList you need the following settings:
    StartURI        room_rootrolegroup_rid
    path            room_rootrolegroup_rid
    roomrid         roomid
in the documentation you find more mappings for iViews delivered by SAP, which You have to set in the templates.
Please see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3f/fcfe06fd7f1321e10000000a114cbd/content.htm for more information.
    3) That's possible since some of the iViews needs certain iView-Parameters set to work properly. Please check if this iView needs some mappings under the link in the documentation under 2)
    4) Up to now we are treating groups as you described. We are working on a solution where we work with groups as room members and we don't resolve the members of the invited/added group.
    Regards, Erwin

  • Runtime Error when Entering Collaboration Room (Authorization)

    Hello everybody
I just upgraded NW2004s Portal from SPS05 to 13 and if I try to enter a collaboration room I get now a runtime error. I attache the defaulttrace at the end of this post.
When I access the room with the user "administrator" everything works fine. So it is clearly a authorization issue but I can not find the place to change the settings accordingly.
I guess it is a newbie question - sorry.
But nevertheless: I hope somebody can halp and thanks for that already in advance!
    Cheers
    Beat

    Hi everybody
Really was a newbie question then. Thanks very much.
Just in another newbie reads this thread and scratches his head. There is also a document with the standartpermissions for the portal from SAP:

  • Oracle Tables used by Collaboration Rooms

I want to create MS Access reports that show the member lists for collaboration rooms.
We have converted to Active Directory so that data is no longer in the ume_strings table.
What Oracle database tables can I find information for the collaboration rooms.
I have looked at the  .kmc  tables, but I do not see any of this information

    Hi Al,
To answer the first question: This would have to be done in Java - that's the supported way within the portal.
I understand your restrictions, but there is another reason against using the portal databases tables directly: Their structure is not documented and may change between SPs without further notice (and, in reality, also does). Therefore the approach - just for not being able to develop something - to access the DB directly is all but clean.
If a company is running a portal, it should be able to have access to Java developers creating stuff like this; whether employed developers or freelancers.
    Best regards

  • Accessing Collaboration Room with Room Link (URL) doesn't work

    hi all
i'm trying to access a collaboration room by room link (url) but it doesn't work. the room url is: https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/b0ce78ec-3f30-2910-2184-b171271d4d95/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
i have checked the roombackend-properties => they are ok
i have checked the roles and permissions => they are ok
what me surprises: when i open a new browser window and type in the mentioned url, our portal-start-page is displayed but in the content area there is no content displaied. i expected, that when i type in the url, then the authentification-dialogue would appear, but it does not.... (does this url only work if i am already logged in the portal??)
if you have any ideas, how the problem could be solved, please let me know!
    thank you for your help.
    greetings
    flo

    hi ingo
thank you for the input. i have now solved the problem, perhaps my solution fits for you too. here it is:
when i use the function "send room-link" the url looks like this:
    https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/9020275c-8348-2810-28a6-a8c1ae60e192/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
with this url i can not access the collaboration room.
but when i change the url like this:
    https://www.sportal.ch/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/9020275c-8348-2810-28a6-a8c1ae60e192/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
now i can access the room (with authentification).
OK, for me the main problem is solved, but can someone perhaps tell me whats the difference between:
    NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector
    and
    NavigationTarget=ROLES
    thank you for your help!
    greetings

  • Collaboration Room iViews give error -- Database related errors -- Pls Help

    Hello Everyone,
We are on EP 6.0 SP 17 (Netweaver 2004).
KMC component was installed separately (Deployed manually).
We are trying to create simple Collaboration Rooms and we are facing some issues with the same.
I am following the documentation on SAP Help for the Room Creation:
Help  SAP Netweaver 2004  People Integration  Collaboration  Administration Guide
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1d/3d59fdaa5ebb45967ea107d3fa117a/frameset.htm
We are able to create rooms based on pre-defined templates and we are also able to add members to rooms, send/receive the invitation emails. I am able to work with Instant Messaging also.
But the problem is that some of the iViews related to Collaboration Rooms are giving errors.
1.<b> “Discussion” iView gives an error saying “You do not have access permission” (even the user has all the necessary roles assigned).</b>
Log for this error is as follows:

Are there any database related configurations required for making the Collaboration Room Discussion functionality work properly?
Are there any KM related configurations necessary other than those mentioned in the document I am referring to?
Are there any database related configurations that are required?
I would really appreciate any help in this matter. Please advise me about any ideas you may have?
    Thanks,
    Raj Seelam

    Hello Lars,
First of all thank you for your reply.
    <b>do u use Collaboration first time?</b>
Yes, we just started using Collaboration and this is our first requirement.
    <b>Which roles do u have?</b>
I have all the required roles (Super Admin, Content Management, Collaboration, Collaboration Room Creation).
I know that these features are available in NW04 SP 17 without any limitations. I have reviewed SAP Notes 707730, 711093, 709354 and 946470 also.
This problem is with only a few Collaboration iViews.
I am able to create Rooms, Enter Rooms, Receive Invitation e-mails without any problem.
Any suggestions about any possible missing configurations ?
    Thanks Again,
    Raj

  • Collaboration rooms not showing up in the rooms tab after patch 34 upgrade

    Hi,
We recently upgrade our EP6 SP2 Patch 5 CM Patch 5 Hotfix 4 to Patch 34.
After the patch 34, we do not see our collaboration rooms in the rooms tab. We can access the rooms from the email generated when we created the room, but when we go to rooms tab we do not see any rooms in the list.
Any help would be a great help
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
this <i>sounds</i> like the behaviour when TREX is used for the room overview (and the index isn't complete when calling the iView). From SAP notes (877937), this on SP2 should be the case from P3<b>5</b> on. I had P33 and moved directly to P35, so I cannot say if the note may be wrong and this was eventually introduced with P34. At least, check the settings. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6b/4e9442c22d1131e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm for details.
    Hope it helps

  • 0CML_DELTA : Change pointers are not active

    Hi All,
I have successfully did the delta init without data transfer for datasource 0CML_DELTA and 0CML_DELTA_CAP. Now, While trying to load delta, I am getting an error "Change pointers are not active" for both the datasource 0CML_DELTA and 0CML_DELTA_CAP.
The position datasources are fecthing 0 records.
I have activated the change pointers in BD61, even though I am getting the same error.
Anyone faced the similar issue or have any clue about the problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pravender
Edited by: Pravender on Sep 30, 2010 11:09 AM

I resolved it. I was activating change pointers in BD61. But fot CML we need to activate in SPRO--> SAP Banking --> Loans Management --> Basic settings --> Installation parameters ---> Define general installation parameters.
    Then it will work.

  • Sort order of documents in a collaboration  room

    hi everybody
i have a collaboration room where documents are stored in it. the sort order of my folders in the collaboration room is determined by the names of the folders.
now there are many folders in folders and at the bottom-level-folder there are the documents stored. these documents are sorted by the names of the documents too.
    now my problem:
the sorting of the folders by name is OK, but at the bottom-level in the bottom-level-folder i need the documents sorted by "modified"-date (for all users). How can i easy made this change? (hope not to make a new layout set...:-() can you please post a guidance?
    thank you for your help!
    flo

    thank you for your feedbacks...
the suggested solutions are not bad but i have this problem:
in the collaboration room we use two layout sets, one for the users with write-permission (layout set FileExplorer) and one for the users with read-permissions (layout set AnonymExplorer).
in the collaboration room the folder-structure for documents should be sorted by folder-name but in the bottom-level-folders, the documents should be sortet by modified-date.
now the problem is, that i can assign only one layout set to a folder, that would mean, that the users with the read- and write-permissions both would have the same view...
    do you see another solution?
    please help!
    thank you

  • Collaboration Rooms in System Copy

    Hi
We created a copy of a production SAP NetWeaver 7.01 Portal and we are using this copy as the QA environment.
In the original Portal (PRD), some users are assigned to some Collaboration Rooms and they can assign the rooms.
In the copy (QA), same users seem to be assigned to the same Collaboration Rooms, but when they click on the link to access the room they get an error message.
After doing a copy of a portal, should users still be able to access the Collaboration Rooms in the copy system?
    Thanks,

  • Accessing KM Content from Collaboration room & Storing rooms in KM

    Hi all
We have a scenario. We want to access KM Content from collaboration rooms. Is it possible?
When we create a Room Template can we change the 'Path to Initially Displayed Folder'  to anything other than  ' /room ' ?
Our problem is we want all the room parts to be stored inside our KM.
If anybody knows the answer please help us
    Regards
    Aparnna

    Hi Aparna,
Your requirement is definitely possible and that's the reason for me to provide the earlier link for configuration.
Also see this link on  <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/4fd9ac6c5c3c40e10000000a422035/frameset.htm">Providing Target Folders for Room Documents</a>
Here you find information about "Configure Entry Point Providers" and "Prepare the Entry Point with a KM Folder of Your Choice " which would point your rooms to the repository of your choice.
    Hope this helps.

    Venkat.

  • Dying Collaboration Rooms - extremly weird

    Hello everyone out there,
with our new test- and development-installation of netweaver we have since the beginning problems with the collaboration rooms, they are "dying away" and react very strange.
to document the behavior I deleted all rooms and make screenshots of nearly every action in the portal.
The fact is that somme rooms vanishes, only the context-menu-item is still visible in the room directory.
    Our enviroment is:
    J2EE 6.40 PatchLevel 92160.313
    Portal 6.0.12.0.0
    KnowledgeManagementCollaboration 6.0.12.1.0 (NW04 SPS12 Patch 2)
Please have a look at http://gss-konstanz.de/gallerie/dying_rooms with all the steps from alright to a not-working system, I believe the basic installation and setup is correct, I was the only working user on the system.
The odd thing begins with http://gss-konstanz.de/gallerie/dying_rooms/20050805_0840_1st_room_dead
    Addition:
For some minutes all looked great, see from http://gss-konstanz.de/gallerie/dying_rooms/20050805_1358_in_room_administration_able_to_manage_last_dead_room
after some 'clicking' in the portal the first room is vanished again

  • "Show Photo Settings" not always active window in "Media"

I am trying to change the viewing time of photo clips in my movie. When I click on Media, sometimes the "show Photo settings" tab is active, but sometimes not! very frustrating...any iaeas? I have saved the project, closed imovie, reopened...it's very skittish!

Hello, and welcome to the discussions.
First, close iMovie and reopen it and see if it now works. If not, delete iMovie's preference file. Close iMovie, go to your Home folder (YourUserName)/ Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist Be sure to select the correct one; if you have another version of iMovie the plist file for it might have a number such as iMovie7.
Drag the plist file to the trash. iMovie will create a new fresh one for you when you relaunch it.
Reopen iMovie and see if it works now.
Be sure you have a photo selected when you try to click on 'Show Photo Settings.'
Post back if none of the above resolves the problem.
