Changing Permission when sudo cmd doesnt work

This is what the permission says:
" d-wx-wx--- 3 Spitfir3x admin 102 15 Feb 16:13 /Library/Folder"
This is what happens when I use the sudo command in terminal:
"unknown-00-23-12-27-ef-32:~ Spitfir3x$ sudo chmod 775 /Library/Folder
Password:
chmod: Unable to change file mode on /Library/Folder: Operation not permitted"
I tried it the regular way to, and used disk utility to try to fix permissions, but nothing worked and I can't gain access to the file.

If you change the email address associated with your Apple ID there are a number of places that have settings that need to be changed. One is in the Messages application. This article explains how to make those changes -

Look for the section titled Messages and under it Mac with OS X Mountain Lion or later.
Open the Messages app, select Messages > Preferences, then click the Accounts icon.
If you're signed out, click Accounts and sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.
If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, click Accounts, then select your Apple ID from the list of accounts. Click Sign Out, then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm. Sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.

ACFS Mounts change permission when Oracle Installer is run

I'm sorry for the confusion. I mistated the permissions and since corrected. We have the FS's set to 775 and when Oracle Installer is run they change to 770.
We are using ACFS filesystems for a viariety of things, one being user home directories between a two node 11G RAC cluster.
The problem that we are having is whenever we run the Oracle Installer, the permissions on certain directories change from 775 to 770. Our current ACFS mounts are located under the /oraclegrid/products directory, like this...

The directories that change permission sometimes varies, for some reason. Most of the times the following change to 770 and we have to change then to 775 after Oracle Installer is run...

/oraclegrid/product/acfsmounts/OPT*
This may have something to do with the location of the ACFS mountpoint, but really unsure.

Yeah - I wasn't sure if I should have changed my original post... I hope that did not confuse the issue.
I appreciate your response, but I have not noticed the permissions changing on reboot. They seem to change only when we run the Oracle Installer. I'm think we may want to either change the owners to something other than root:oinstall or possibly move them out from under the /oraclegrid/product directory. We are on a change freeze now and I can't test this for a couple of weeks, but if you know of any reason why Oracle Installer would change these perms, please let me know.

Marking words with cmd doesnt work

I wanted to highlight certain words in a line and make them big , therefore i tried to use the cmd button and stayed on it to mark more words ! but it doesnt work ? Any ideas ?

What does it say just under the word Pages?
That is your version.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder if you still want non-contiguous text selection along with the 90+ features Apple removed in Pages 5.
Rate/review Pages 5 in the App Store.

My sudo command doesnt work.

hello everyone i am new to terminal and when i write sudo /sbin/service ssh start at first it looks as if working by asking my password but after it tells me that command not found so if you could help me throught it would be perfect.

If it asks for your password, sudo is working. The problem is it cannot find the /sbin/service command because it doesn't exist.
ssh is in /usr/bin and it normally doesn't need sudo.
My guess would be you are trying to start sshd, which can easily be done by enabling Remote Login in Sharing System Preferences.

RS480M2-IL wont boot after change in BIOS, CMOS reset doesnt work!

I bought the RS480M2 to use with a E6 stepping Venice 3000+ CPU using the onboard graphics card. I ran into problems right from the start, CPU temps were high (PC health in BIOS says 51-58 over a few minutes). Looking at the BIOS updates available i noticed that i had BIOS v.3.2, and i needed a higher version to support the E6 stepping, so i thought maybe the motherboard was using a wrong voltage for the CPU. In order to ensure that i could do a BIOS flash update i thought id better UNDERclock the CPU so it wouldnt overheat while flashing. I changed the LDT setting to 200Mhz(from 800 i think), subsequently on booting nothing happened(note that i never got around to do any BIOS flashing). My drives powers up, but i do not get a boot display. I checked the manual on how to reset the CMOS/BIOS and it says i should change the JCMOS1 jumper from 1-2 to 2-3. I was confused about whether or not to restart before or after putting it back to 1-2, so in the begining i just moved the jumper to 2-3 waited a few seconds and moved it back before powering up. This didnt help. A newer online version on the manual gave the order as 2-3 , power on, wait for CMOS error, power off, 1-2, power on. Unfortunately when i start up with the jumper on 2-3, i still get nothing. No boot, no error message. Ive tried clearing the CMOS multiple times(by following the sequence above), and nothing seems to work.
The only thing strange about my setup is that im using a fanless heatsink(the Sonic Tower from ThermalTake) running open case. Can this problem be related to a CPU fan speed protection?
Im totally at a loss as what to do about this, any help would be incredibly appreciated!

When i bought this board i didnt realize it might only support some A64's since it just listed A64's as supported. Also, when i look at the BIOS updates i can see that BIOS 3.4 lists "Support AMD K8 reversion E stepping CPU." (my Venice is E6) as being the change, so i thought it would be okay, after all when someone says they support E stepping, one would assume that it is all E stepping CPUs. When people buy CPU's its not always they know what stepping they will receive. I actually thought i was getting the E3 until i checked the model number and found it to be an E6.
My memory is Kingston Value Ram(2x256MB, im just building a HTPC, so i really didnt go after the expensive stuff). I got the newest venice because of its extremely low power use.
Btw, when reinserting the battery and restarting should i have JCMOS1 jumper at Clear data or keep data?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. When bouncing, the jump section ( i 've made a ruler bacwards ) is included in the bounce.

I remember "my" Cubase 5 VST for Mac (OS 8.6-9.2.2) could bounce in the manner the OP is looking for. It is a very handy feature to 'test' if a something 'works' in a song. And though sonically identical, listening to a bounce in iTunes is different from listening to the Logic project playing. So I understand the wish for it.
What I would do if I wanted to achieve this, is simply first do a Save and then *Save as...* (don't include assets). I'ld call it something obvious, like "Mysongsoriginaltitle"-short version. My main project will stay safe, saved and unaffected, this newly saved version will be edited, as you recommended! So I'ld cut away the skipped section, Save +"Mysongsoriginaltitle"-short version,+ bounce +"Mysongsoriginaltitle"-short version,+ listen to +"Mysongsoriginaltitle"-short version+ in iTunes, say "Nēh, doesn't work" and trash the bounced file and the new project file. Or I'ld say "That's it!" and also cut the skipped section out of the main project and continue finishing my very serious piece!

How do i back up my iphone when the screen doesnt work?

i dropped my iphone today and it landed screen down but did not smash, then the colours started to turn strange on the screen and now all there is are blue and black lines going down the screen, i took it into apple and asked if it was fixable and they told me i need to back it up. but thats where the problem is i cannot back up my iphone as itunes is asking me to insert my passcode but i cannot see the numbers on the screen, ive tried guessing a few times where the numbers are but it does not work, is there any way of backing up my iphone without having to put my passcode in my phone?

If you perform the backup using the computer you normally sync with, it shouldn't ask this. If that computer is not available or you have never done so, you're out of luck. You can't.

HT4367 and what do you do when the above doesnt work?

i tried the beta 4 instructions from the dev site....they didn't work.
i had to restore, which downloadd an image from Apple. The restore worked, i reconfigured the device, tried again with beta 4, instructions in the PDF are wrong (again) as i was not able to choose the .ipsw file to use.
Now i have a door stop that wont restore - the only reason i tried to put on beta4 was for a review, and now i have an iTV3 that no longer works.
Yes i've tried everything under the Sun. I even copied in the beta into /Users/peter/Library/iTunes/Apple TV Software Updates

Using the "touch" command on the original file in the (seen above renamed to .orig) caused iTunes to at least try and download a new restore image....without success.
Why it would recognise the new beta 4 file in there is beyond me, but that also triggered a new download. And failure.
Right now the iTV3 is now workng. Restores dont work.
I'mm gnna try the Windows approach and reboot - after i move these .ipsw files somewhere else first.

Using scanner on an HP C7280 all in one when printer component doesnt work

I have an HP C7280 that has been having problems not printing for a lot of reasons that are not fixable. However, I would like to use the scanner portion of the printer. Is there a way to get the printer to scan/copy only and eliminate the printer side of the "all in one"?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you would like to retire your printer and only use it as a copier/scanner.
To better assist you, would you please give me some information on the reasons why the printing side is being retired? I’m asking because there are some errors that can occur that will stop you from using the scanner/copying features, in particular copying as it will use the printer side of things. In addition would you please let me know how the printer is connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?

Since it is trying to use the BEQ adapter, it indicates you did not specify a tns alias. In other words, you did something like this:

The mic is the little hole on the back side of the iPod by the camera lens. It is clear and unobstructed?

EAX doesnt work on SB0570

I have a problem with my sound card model SB0570.
I am using windows 7 build 7600 Ultimate.
I used the windows update driver and tried from creative site but i have same problem with both of these drivers.
When i set speaker settings to 5. all 5 speakers work perfect. But when i start my Aimp2 player i can get only sound from? 2 speakers and not 5. as i should.
I tried to make EAX CMSS but it changes nothing same like it doesnt work at all ( probably isnt ).
When i try to use your SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.5 it says product cannot be found. I tried to delete the windows update driver and install SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.5 fresly but same error applies.
I am a long time creative user and a IT hardware specialist i can asure you this card is working propely -_- god knows i used it on XP all the time but nothing on good on windows 7.
I am using it on this PC:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M52L-S3
Processor: AMD Athlon 5200+
Graphics: Gigabyte HD4650
DDRII: OCZ dual 800mhz 2GB
And my sound card i have problems with: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE? SB0570.
Plz tell me what can i do to make it be 5. when i play my music >.<
