CHARM Normal Change Project Cycle empty

Hi Gurus,
We are facing an issue in Normal Change in CHARM. The Project cycle and current phase is empty (not auto populated) when we select Normal Change in Scope assignment block. It is working fine for Urgent changes. We have only one project active for both urgent and normal changes. Normal change works fine in CHARM development system. Can anyone please help me getting this fixed ?
Current "phase is Development with Release". We are using Normal Change for the first time in production.

Hi,
Please see the screenshots of task list and project cycle (in web ui). We never closed our project cycle till now. We use Urgent changes regularly but our plan is to roll out normal changes now. Also, I noticed we have different number range mapped for normal change in production but not in development. Does that causes this issue ?

  • ChaRM: Normal Change - Not possible to set "Successfully Tested" unless the Maint. Cycle is set to "In Development with Release"

    Hello,
I'm doing some tests with ChaRM, Normal Change scenario.
As far as I know, the following steps would be the correct sequence (concerning development and test phases only):
    1) Developers perform the correction in DEV and release their TASKS of the transport request
    2) Developer Lead set the Normal Change document status to "to be tested"
    3) In background, a Transport of Copies is created with all data previously stored in the original transport request. Then this ToC is transported into QAS
    4) Change Manager set the Maintenance Cycle status to "Test"
    5) Tester performs the test into QAS
    6) Tester provides a valuable feedback and set Normal Change document status to "tested successfully"
According to the following SAP Portal article, it seems to be correct:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm71_sp10/helpdata/en/48/db938dceba518de10000000a42189c/frameset.htm
During my tests, however, I have noticed that it is just possible to go from step 5 to 6 if the Maintenance Cycle status is set to "In Development with Release" (go a step back in the Cycle). Otherwise, I get the following error messages:
Warning Message Details Status was reset by system
Warning Message Details Action RELEASE_ALL cannot be performed during this maintenance phase
Warning Message Next status cannot be set because some actions cannot be executed.
Once I have done the Cycle status change, then it is possible to move from 5 to 6 without errors and then the original transport request is transported into QAS too.
Question: Is this the correct behavior or am I missing customizing?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Daniel

    Hello Vivek,
    Thanks for your reply.
It is kinda weird the steps sequence, since the Tester needs to tell the Change Manager to move the cycle's status before approving the correction done in QAS (successfully tested).
Perhaps a new action between "to be tested" and "successfully tested" could exist, in order to request the CM to perform the cycle update.
But OK, that's how it is.

    Daniel

  • Urgent plz...CHanging project/maintenance cycle phase

i have implementation project and activated ChaRM for it.
the task list and project cycle has been created scuccessfully.
i created change request and assigned to that task list. when i set status "Development Complete" i need to import the TRs manually (SDMJ), but for that the phase of the cycle should be "DEVELOPMENT WITH RELEASE"
i can change the task list phase by executing report /TMWFLOW/PHCNTRL_DB_UTILITY and the TR is imported to QAS successfully as well but the project cycle (SDDV) is still in :DEVELOPMENT W/O RELEASE" ???
and when i try to change the phase (CRM_DNO_MONITOR -> SDDV -> Next phase) it gives error

yes ..task list and project cycle must be in sync

there is no service desk project...but a service desk transaction wihch in turn automatically updates the status of task list..this transaction and task list both are attached to corr changes of ur project
generally the process is to change the status using service desk transaction not using that report that report is used in case of problem occured....therefore used for force closing the cycle.
    Hope it clarifies

  • Pass normal change to test - CHARM

    Dear All,
We are in process of implementing Charm system but we are facing a issue in it.
We are able to create the request for change and after being released, change document is getting generated.
First issue is change document directly moves to "in development" status instead of "created".
Second issue, we create transport request--> do our activity --> release the task. Then when we change the status from "in development" to "Pass change to test" it gives a error. There should be creation of transport of copies but that doesn't occur and changes are not moved to test environment.
    Attached screen shot.
    TIA
    Regards
    Sushant

    Hello Sushant,
For your first issue, please check the following SPRO Activities:
    1) Define Status Profile for User Status
Path: Change Request Management > Transactions > Status Management > Define Status Profile for User Status
    a) look for Status Profile SMMJHEAD (or, its Z-version in case you have created it) and double-click on it
    b) the following screen shows the available transaction type statuses. Check if the flag "Init. Status" is checked for "Created" status (follow printscreen below)
In case 1) is OK, verify:
    2) Define Action Profiles and Actions
Path: Change Request Management > Transactions > Actions > Change Actions and Conditions > Define Action Profiles and Actions
    a) mark the correct action profile (default is SMMJ_ACTIONS)
    b) double-click on "Action Definition"
    c) look for Action Definition SMMJ_ON_CREATE_MJ; mark it and double-click on "Processing Types"
    d) on the Action Definition screen, in the "Settings Method Call" screen section, there must be assigned the HF_SET_STATUS method.
Click on the Glasses Icon (display definition)
    e) check if the "initial value" column has "E0001" (it is the "Created" status for Normal Changes)

  • Not able to release normal change document for development

    Hello All
We have Implemented ChaRM in SolMan 7.1 SP10
Have created the Project and activated Charm with required DEV/QA/PRD logical component and before creating the Maintenance cycle, we did a check in the project which showed all green..
We are able to create a request for Change and go till the approval, when we try to change the status to release for development, it is throwing the below error and not letting us go further.
We have checked the MC phase, and it is in phase Dev with release.
Project is in IN PROCESS state.
IBASE and Component details are correct.
Tried to put back to Validation and re tried for Development and this did not work.
Until unless change document created successfully, we cannot go ahead even though MC phase is in DEV with release.
I have seen few blogs and I have checked below steps
    system roles in SMSY
    Landscape system info
Changed MC phase to DEV with release
Strange why it is not allowing to create change document ???
    Please assist
    Thanks
    Sateesh.

    Hello,
Three consistency checks are performed when you choose action "release for development" (resulting in the SMCR's status "being implemented"):
    PROJECT_ASSIGNED: Project is Assigned
SYSTEM_EXIST: System assigned to collective change request
FOLLOW_ON_GEN_OK: Change Documents Can be Created
In case any of these checks fails, the SMCR's status returns to "approved".
These same consistency check are also checked when the SMCR status is set to "approved". The behavior for a failed check, however, is different in this case. Just a warning message is shown on the top of the screen and the "approved" status can be set.
Question 1: When you set the SMCR to "approved", those warnings are shown too?
Perhaps there is something wrong with the assigned project.
Check if the assigned logical component has the correct systems/clients.
Check if the transport tracks between the systems listed in the logical component are working.
Question 2: When you assign the scope (change type, in your case, Normal Change), some system data from the production system defined in the logical component are automatically filled (System, Client, Configuration Item, etc). Is this happening?

  • Project Cycle Tab

    Hi Friends
I couldn't find the Project cycle Tab under the system landscape in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN T.code. Please guide me.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hello Somya,
In spro->Activate Integration with Change Request Management point
ensure that in Integration Solution Manager activity you have entered the entry:
    Appl.   RFC Destination
    S Change Request Management NONE
I activity Integration Change Request Management you have to haver this entries:
    OSS_MSG     W     NONE     CUST620     1.0
    CHARM                    W     NONE     CUST620     1.0
This settings will do that you see the Change Request tab.
    Hope this helps,

  • 'Project Cycle' tab is missing ...

    Hi,
In t_code solar_project_admin I go to the 'System Landscape' tab, and then the 'Project Cycle' tab is missing ... exist only : Systems , Central Objects and IMG Projects tab.
Can any one of you help me in this regard.
    Thanks
    Venu Madhav

I had the same problem. Actually Jason is right, it's called "Change Requests" now. If you don't see that tab as well, go to SPRO --> SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide --> SAP Solution Manager --> Configuration --> Scenario-Specific Settings --> Change Request Management --> Standard Configuration --> General Activities --> Activate Integration with Change Request Management:
1.) "Activate Change Request Management and Set-Up Client" --> set your CHARM client
2.) "Integration Solution Manager" --> Enter application S (Change Request Management) and destination NONE
--> IMG documentation says something it's not required nevertheless this entry must be maintained
3.) "Integration Change Request Management" --> enter
    Appl                         +              Dest          +              +
    CHARM                     W     NONE     CUST620     1.0
    CHARM_DEST     W     NONE     CUST620     1.0
--> not documentated properly in the IMG documentation as well
For me, is was especially 2.). After I made that entry, I had the tab "Change Requests" ... and new problems ...
    Cheers,
    Andy

  • ChaRM on implementation Projects

    Hello
I have a conceptual question regarding the use of ChaRM on Implementation projects.
We are using ChaRM and have ensured that CTS is driven from Solution Manager i.e transport requests can only be created from corrections (SDMI). To date all SDMI's have been created as follow on documents to Change Transactions (SDCR). Going forward we would like to differentiate genuine changes (Changes to scope after blueprint sign off)  from implementation activities driven from blueprinted requirements.
Whilst we see benefit from approval workflows for genuine changes, it is quite a chore to create SDCR's for all regular implementation work which is implicitly approved by signed off blueprint.
It is also difficult for us to then differentiate Changes from Implementation SDCR's.
Can anyone see a problem with all implementation tasks being generated directly as SDMI's with no preceding SDCR whilst leaving genuine changes as SDCR generated corrections?
The only one I can think of so far is that there is workflow that sets the status on an SDCR when the SDMI has been through it's lifecycle although I'm not sure how the system would behave if there is no SDCR.
    Thanks
    Mark

    Hello,
for the first please use SDMJ. SDMI is old.
You can create SDMJ directly without SDCR and his approval workflow. There is no problem.
It is not really clear how to work with Implementation projects and "changes".
    There are two known scenarios:
Implementation project (phase of the application management life cycle is "Implementation"):
If you have an really Implementation project for an Implementation of for example an new SAP product you should use an "Implementation project". It is not a change request!
Here you work with the known IMG-projects, blueprint, project phases.....
The transport process is realized via bc-sets. It means you create all you "changes" in bc-sets.
Implementation project (phase of the application management life cycle is "Optimization"):
Here you can use also the "Implementation project"
You can create SDMJ directly without SDCR and his approval workflow. There is no problem.
The transport process is realized via transport requests.
I guess the different between this two scenarios is the transport process.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Best regards
    Thomas

  • Charm in implementation project

    Hi All,
Iam currently configuring charm in implementation project. We do not have QA and PRD systems build yet.
I have created transport routes DEV>VQA>VPR ie with QA and PRD as virtual systems.
Now how do I add this as virtual systems in logical component. If I create entry in SMSY manually, tomorrow when my QA and PRD systems are available, how do I change it?
    Regards,
    S

    Hi,
For demo system you can create three additional clients say 100>dev, 100> QA, 300> PRD and 500> solution manager ( that will be your original client).
you can create logical component for the same in SMSY and also you need to set up the transport route accordingly.
you can test the entire charm functionality this way.
When you would be having your actual systems you can create another logical component and project for the real scenario in solution manager and adjust the transport routes and you can still keep the demo system active alongwith real system scenario in case you want that.

    Sarita

  • Error when performing action Pass Normal Change to Test

When we perform the action "Pass Normal Change to Test" we receive an error message. Reviewing the short dump in ST22 of our development ERP system provides additional information such as DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND, Screen output without connection to user, SAPLTMSU_ALT. Using this information we have identified two notes (49730 and 1497281, which is not applicable). We tried changing the user type for our RFC communication user (as per 49730), but that has not worked.
Interestingly the Transport of Copies (which occurs when this action is performed in ChaRM) has been created in development. But it has not been released and ChaRM is not aware that the Transport of Copies has been created. If we move it outside of ChaRM we will lose this history.
Has anyone experienced this issue? How did you resolve it?

    Hi Mathias,
After checking each TMW RFC connection (in our TMS) and making updates as required; the main solution (as I see it) was in the TMSADM@ RFC connections. A couple had incorrect passwords and a couple had incorrect authorizations. Once I made the required changes and confirmed the RFC
were working from an authorization perspective, I was able to successfully complete the action “Pass Normal Change to Test”.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can not Create a Maintanence Project Cycle

    Hi,
We are using ChaRM 4.0 , in project cycle tab in solar_project_admin transaction . when i click on the refresh button, it gives some warning error . see the following
    Warning: Problems occurred during synchronizati
    of the system landscape
when we see the log in SLG1 transaction it is having the following log .
    @5C\QError@     /TMWFLOW/CHECK_PRJ_CONSISTENCY : PRODUCTIVE CTS PROJECT DEFINED ZCHARM4
what will be the problem ? can any one guide ?

    Thanks,
There was one more question I had: "Did you verify the drive with Disk Utility and did it get the "all clear"?"
Edit: here an Apple article (although archived):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2414
Launch DiskUtility (in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder) and select the whole disk (not the volume  Macintosh HD, but the one above with the disk identifier as name).  Then click on "verify disk".
Then do the same with "Macintosh HD" selected.
If both verifications are passed, i.e. they "appear to be ok", also check the SMART status of your disk.  The trial version of Smart Utility will do that (better than Disk Utility).
If all these checks are passed and if you have an external drive to clone your Macintosh HD to, I'd do that, re-partition the internal drive to 1 Partition, re-install Mavericks with the full installer and run Bootcamp Assistant to partition for Bootcamp.  Then clone back "Macintosh HD".
Oh, one more question: how big are you trying to make the bootcamp partition?

  • Changing a cycle in an active maintenance plan

    Hello All,
I received a request from an end user to make a change to an active maintenance plan. The plan has a 3mo cycle. The users would like to first, generate a call for March 2011 and second, to change this to a an annual cycle. I am able to use the 'Restart in Cycle' to generate a call in March, unfortunately, I am not able to figure out how to change the cycle from 3mo to 12mo. Is it possible for to change the plan cycle from 3mo to 12mo once the plan is started? The header section in IP10 is grayed out.
At the moment, it looks as though I need to create a new maintenance plan to accommodate the request.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anna

    Mahee,
Appreciate your quick response. This was a strategy plan and I was able to make the changes as you had suggested, through the task list.
Thank you so much for your help!

  • Filter Resolution Group in Normal Change on a specific organization

    Hello,
We have a big business organisation in our company.
We are using SAP Normal Change in IT Service Management.
We have a field "Resolution Group" where you can search all the organisation,
in the search criteria window, we would to like to show only CH.ROOT organization (transaction ppoma_crm)
    and hide the other organization.
    How can do that ?
    UI Component : BP_HEAD_SEARCH
    View : BP_HEAD_SEARCH/SearchHelp

The thing is, the block module and the filesystem module are both loaded in my regular initramfs, and the presence of ext4 errors while mounting my USB key (it uses ext4) signifies that the system is actually using the right tool to do what it's supposed to.
The system has been installed via VirtualBox so the autodetect module may have messed things up. Going to recreate an initramfs image without it.
EDIT : It worked, sorry for bothering you guys, I could've found it sooner.
Anyway, as a note for others, if you plan on installing on a USB key to use it on other computers, remove the autodetect module from the initramfs, otherwise the required modules won't always be there.
