Dear Murugesan
In Material Master MRP3 view, you would be maintaining some value for "Availability Check".  For this availability check, in OVZ9, the checking rule is defined.
Based on the combination of this, when you create a sale order for that  material, the checking rule will be carried out.

  • Something interesting with check rule for VAT registration no.

    Hi Guys,
I found something weird in sap with check rule for VAT registration no.
If I set any of check rules for US and save(tcode oy17), then change the country of a customer from DE to US and save(not change the VAT registration no), the system post error messages "ISO code DE is not correct in the VAT registration number". But if I set rule for AU(australia) with same rule as US, and change the customer's country from DE to AU(not change the VAT no), no error happens and customer can be saved successfully. So anybody can give any explanation on this problem?
Thanks in advance, point will be rewared. Waiting for the comments.

  • Checking Rule for Process Order

    Hi Guys
I am using the standard checking rule for Process Order while releasing. This rule considers the quality blocked stock also as available stock and thus release the Process Order.
However the client does not want to include the quality block stock for process order. My question is:
    1. If I create a checking rule which does not consider quality stock as available, and attach it to release of Process Order, will it make any change in MRP run?
    2. Is there a means to show a warning message while release of process order to show the stock is in quality block state?
    3. Is there any other means to alarm or warn the user before release of Process order about the material quality block state?
Appreciate you help / suggestion on this
    Thanks in advance
    Rahul

    Hi,
Regards the stocks during MRP run, you can do it in tow areas
    1. In OPPI, you can define whether Stockin transfer/blocked/restricted stocks can be taken into account for MRP run.
    2. You can exclude storage locations in MRP run and assign the MRP storage location indicator as 1 in MRP 4 view.
Apart from this the MRP will consider all stocks and requirements.
If you don't want to consider QI stock (for ex) then you can convert them as blocked stocks or you can move to a storage location which is not assigned to the MRP.
    Thanks,
    JK

  • Which Checking rule for BackOrder

    Hi
I am not sure which Checking rule to use for Back Order Processing CO06. SAP has given it as BO, however I can also do it with Checking rule A.
Is this neceaasry to do it by BO , or it can be done A.
    Regards,
    Neeraj Srivastava

    Dear Neeraj
For Backorder processing, the checking rule should be BO only.  Checking Rule A applies only for sale order creation.

  • Checking rule for sales document types

    Hi,
Can I change the cheking rule for a sales document type? Where could I change it? or should I build Z table?
    Thanks!

    7,
Checking rule is hard-coded into standard SAP sales doc maintenance programs.  For SOs, it is A or A* (depending on the stock type).  For Deliveries, it is B or B*.  There is no way to use standard configuration to alter the rule within SD.

  • Availability checking rule for sales orders

    Hi experts,
To meet our useru2019s requirement I have switched off the availability check at the schedule line category level. But when I created a sales order the AVC is still happening. Upon checking I have noticed the availability checking group as u201C02u201D and checking rule as u201CBu201D in sales order. To my understanding the checking rule should be u201CAu201D for all sales orders. Could you please advise as to why it is happening so?

    Hi,
I have done as what suggested and I created a new sales order. Upon checking (Sales screen --} environment --} availability) the availability checking group is 02 and checking rule is B. Please note that for the other sales document types we have, the checking group is 02 and checking rule is A

  • ATP - One Checking group for several checking rules (Trans. OPJJ)

    Hello,
In my system, each control group is associated to several checking rules. So, I don't understand how the system choose the right rule to use.
IIs it normal use ? SAP Documentation and forum threads seems to speak always about one checking rule for one checking group.
    Thanks for your help,

Edited by: Kholargol on Oct 2, 2009 11:19 AM

    Emmanuel,
Just to add to what Prasobh explained on how to use different check rule 01/02 at production order level there are other checking rules that apply to SD module which is more important for defining ATP stratgey for various finished products.
So a simple sales oder for made to stock product may have checking rule A that considers existing unrestricted stock, purchase orders, production orders  dates to promise against.
However a MTO sale order for made to order(MTO) product may have a check rule AE that  should consider only the relevant production order and /or replenshipment lead time to promise against.
So while checking group set at material master needs many check rules specific to various Sale orders, production orders, plant mainteneance orders, or project orders.
Hope this helps in your understanding of this concept.
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • Check the settings for checking group 02 and checking rule BO

    Hi,
I am doing Backorder processing for order , I am getting the error as follows,
I have checked Checking Rule For Updating Backorders. Everything ok.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Pramod

One Probable reason for you error.
Check the TC: OVZ2 whether you have ticked the Block qty req. for the Checking group 02 or you have selected No checks.
The standard setting for 02 should not have any tick..
or _Check in the TC : se38 program : SAPLOPP3.
Check whether you have defined the plants with the checking rule BO.
    This must be your error._

  • Determination of checking Rule in sales order

    Dear all,
how the checking rule is determined in sales order av.check, In the t code OPJJ we are maintained so many checking rule for one checking group, In the sales order how the system determines the checking rule,
I am expecting positive feedback from your end .
    Best Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
You will have to maintain the checking group default for Material Type & Plant in Customization.
You can assign the plant & the checking rule for processing Back order Processing.
You can set default values for the relevant sales area & the availability checking rule.
You will have to assign the requirement class to reqirement type.
Maintain the avbl. check & TOR for the relevant schedule line.
These settings need to be done for the avbl. check to be performed at the sales order level.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Check rule in invoice plan

    Hi,
please revert back , how i should create the "Check rules" for invoice plan. and cutomizing "Terms of Payment key" (tcodes).
    Thanks&Regards,
    Benge

    Hi there,
Please look at the documentation on how to set up the duplicate invoice
    check -
    SPRO ->
       MM ->
        LIV ->
         Incoming invoice ->
          Set check for duplicate invoices
    Please also see note 394316.
Please understand that the standard 'duplicate invoice check' looks at
    the following fields.
    1) Company code....Configurable     4) Currency.....Always checked
    2) Document date...Configurable     5) Vendor.......Always checked
    3) Reference.......Configurable     6) Amount.......Depending on
                                                        Reference field
Only the Company code, Document date, and Reference fields are
configurable in transaction OMRDC as to whether or not the system looks
at these three fields along with the Currency, Vendor, and Amount.
If they are checked, the duplicate invoice check considers them.  If
none are checked, then the system only looks at the Currency, Vendor,
    and Amount.
If you activate the reference document number in IMG,
Depending on the reference document number entry, the system checks
    as follows:
    1. If you have entered a reference document number, the system checks
whether the invoice matches in the following attributes:
       Company code
       Vendor
       Currency
       Invoice date
       Reference document number
    2. If you have not entered a reference document number, the system
checks whether the invoice matches in the following attributes:
       Company code
       Vendor
       Currency
       Invoice date
       Amount in document currency
Depending on the system settings, a warning message or an error
message appears if the system finds an invoice that matches all
    attributes.
Please also keep in mind:The field Chk double inv. (Check for duplicate
invoice) must be flagged on the Accounting view in the vendor master
    record.
The check is done in FM MRM_DUPLICATE_INVOICE_CHECK so you may be
able to look at it closer through the code
From release 4.7 or higher, BADI MRM_HEADER_CHECK is available to
make such check ( note 1156325).

  • ATP Rule for Planned Orders

    Hi Experts,
I have configured the ATP rule for Planned Orders. So I only want to check the component stock and Production Orders when running ATP check for the Parent Material.
In OPJJ, I only selected the following options.
    Include Safety Stock : Ticked
    Check without RLT : Ticked
Incl.production orders : X (Take all production Orders into account)
No other options or boxes have been selected
Also I have included the relevant Checking group in MRP 3 for the Parent Material (Checking Rule has been assigned to that Checking Group in Config) and also maintain the Plant Parameters for MRP (assign the checking rule to the plant)
    So, For an example :
    Parent : A
    Components : B and C
Parent Material A has only 5 Planned Orders starting on same day 20.05.2014 each qty 5
    Components B got stock 300
    Components C got stock 1
When I ran ATP Check for the Parent material A using COHV, qty 1 has been allocated to all the planned orders as committed. Why is this happening ?
I also checked in CO09 for the Component Material C, and it says ATP Qty is only 1. I expected the system would allocate that stock 1 to one of the Orders but it seems to be not working as I expect.
Any explanations will be much appreciated and will not hesitate to avoid the points.
    Kind regards,
    Ishara

    Hi DB49,
Appreciate your reply. Please see the following comments.
Right now I have been assuming that you have performed an availability check manually for one of the planned orders, and you got the same results (overconfirmation).  Please confirm.
Yeah I have performed for one order and it gave me the same result.  Also, when I perform for the 2nd Order, it allocates the quantity.
OK, basic things you should already have checked:
You have maintained the checking rule for planned orders (OPPQ or OPPR)
You have maintained the ATP group for the materials (OVZ2)
You have assigned the ATP group to the Material Master of the components (MM02)
You have maintained the scope of check according to the rules you mentioned earlier (OPPJ).
You have no planning strategy in the component material that would have invoked a special ATP.
I checked everything apart from point 2 (OVZ2). I have maintained that via MRP Group and that MRP Group has been linked to Master Data (MRP 3)
Really appreciate your support in this.
    Kind regards,
    Ishara

  • How to change checking rule in SD

    Hello Experts,
I am new to SD. i want to change checking rule for sales order from A to B in customizing. Please let me know how to change checking rule for sales order.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Sai

    Hi
As per my knowledge you cant change the checking rule in the sales order  please find the belwo
1.In Sales and Distribution, the checking rule is specified within the system and cannot be changed. To check the availability of a  material, you must enter a checking groupin the material master record (in the field Availability check)..
2.Along with the checking group, the checking rule specifies the final procedure for checking.
    3. Check the setting in the below path

  • Checking Rule to Order Types

    Hai,
Can somebody let me know how the system automatically derives the Checking rule 'A' for Sales Orders. I would like to create new Availability Check Control based on the Checking Group / Checking Rule combination.
Mine is not an APO system, simple ECC 6.0, so I can't use the 'Business Transaction' field in the Document Type's Avail Check.
I don't want to choose 'A' as checking Rule for my Sales Order doc type.
    Regards,
    Maheshwaran. I

    Hi Maheshwaran,
Availability check is carried out in different transactions like Sales order creation, delivery creation, Purchase order creation, goods issue and also in production order. The point to be noted here is everywhere the availability check is carried out using two basic elements.
    1. Checking rule
    2. Checking group
    Explanation
    Checking Rule
Checking rule is transaction based, i.e. In STD SAP system, if you are creating the sales order, then it is A, if delivery then it is B, if you are creating/releasing production order, then it is PP. This is almost fixed. What is the use of this as a single element it does not have any meaning, but with checking group.
    Checking group
Checking group is the one what you assign in material master at plant level, i.e. for different plant and for the same material or for same plant different material there can be a different checking group. This is assigned in material master in MRP3 view, as a signal element it may not have much meaning except that it may be used for checking at which level - group level or individual level and quantities confirmed in the availability check are to be locked or not.
Combination of Checking rule and checking group will define the scope of check
In scope of check you will be defining all control parameters in t-code OVZ9
Checking group you have defined in MMR as 01 and system is checking with checking rule A as it is a sales order you have created
Hence the system takes the said combination
Checking rules are predefined in SAP.
Checking Rule A for Sale Order and B for Delivery is pre defined in SAP and based on the availability check what you maintain in material master, checking rule will react in sale order.
'A' refers to Sales Order and Availability check Rule determined in '01'.

  • Config to select Checking Rule "A" during Sales order availability check

    Hi All,
Please can you tell me the config that tells system to select the checking rule "A" during sales order availability check. The problem at my client side is that the system was using the checking rule "A" initially but suddenly it has started using checking rule "B" (delivery) for sales order. The item category being used in YAN and Scheduline Line category is YC (ATP and Allocation allowed).
The checking group is getting picked up correctly from the Material Master value.
I have tried to find all the possible config that might be causing this issue, but I am unable to find one. Based on my understanding of the SAP SD process, there is no place where we can define in system to use the "checking rule" for SD availability check. This is the default (hard-coded) in the system.
Please can you help me to find how the checking rule "B" might be getting called instead of "A".
    Regards,
    Swapnil

    Hi
Checking rule is transaction based like A for SD sales order and B for SD delivery like that it is defined
So in a sales order the system checks with the combination of AChecking rule and the Checking group defined in MMR and for that combination we give controls in OVZ9 and based on that system makes availability check
Every one  and all SAP materials including myself say Checking Rule is transaction based and picked up by the system thro hard coded controls
But In t code OPJL it is possible to define new checking rules that means customization is possible
But where is the link or assignment
For this nobody has given correct answers including the PP friends
For you the system is shifting the Checking Rule from A to B in the sales order itself means we can find out get where the said assignment is done
In OVZ9 remove the combination Checking rule B and your Checking group and save
You said the system has shifted its  Checking rule to B from A
Now test it after removing this control in OVZ9 and see the system is shifting once again to A or throwing error as the control is removed in OVZ9
make sure that you do this in a sales order and post back
    Regards
    Raja
