Cisco 892 Config

Hey guys i dont know if am posting on the right place if not apologies or move the post,
i have a working Cisco 892 somewhere in different contry,
i need to copy the running configuration to upload it to different one,
can someone please explain to me the best way to do it and also to upload it to the next one using USB
thank you so mucgh

i have already the config file now, i just need to upload this conf to the startup of my new router so how can i do this using external USB,
Ok.  Let me spell out the "riot act".
1.  This method is NOT supported by Cisco TAC.  So if your config file was copied from the USB flash and the appliance fails ...
2.  Not all USB flash drives are supported (because those drives are not up-to-standard);
3.  Format the drives using FAT 16;
4.  Maximum size I've used is 2Gb but others swear that 8Gb is still usable.
Copy the file to the USB flash like you do with any other.
When you plug it into your appliance, you normally will see in the logs if the USB flash got inserted and whether or not the appliance will accept it.
To copy the config from the USB to yoru startup is as simple as "copy usbflash0: start".
That's all folks!

  • AP Restriction on Cisco 892

    Hi All,
I have a very weird issue in a network, I have a router cisco 892 working in my site as a gateway, and have 3 different AP (diferent vendor) that was working until the last week, there was a blackout energy in all the site and when all come up just the AP present a strange behavior, when a laptop is connected trough the wireless the dhcp (from my cisco 892) assign a IP address and everything works on it, but all the tablets, and smartphones simply not work, there is some restriction or something else need to configure in the cisco 892, in one of these APs I change the configuration from only AP function to router I mean that I configure a WAN (that is connected to my LAN and took an ip from my DHCP pool) and configure a dhcp pool from the lan of that AP, in this mode the IPADs, smartphones (android, ios, etc) work without problem.
Is there any restriction, i have 3 days on this and simply not find any logical problem.
    Tks.

  • What's wrong? Verify and compare Cisco 2901 config after loading old config from Cisco 2801

    Hi Cisco Community / Friends,
I am new to this site though I have cisco account for many years. I am a CCNA ,I  passed my certification on January 2013 I seldom use and utilized my skills on networking becuase of my type of work. I am Project Eng'r working in a System integrator company . Anyway, I would like to ask assistance on the configurations of my Cisco router for this gov't projects.. Here's the situation.
We have a new project for the VSAT Comm'n of  Coast Watch Station ,  The VSAT was installed 7 years ago. The VSAT was only used for a year by this Gov't agency because of  subscription issue. Now, they wants to revive and use their VSAT facilities for the Coast watch monitoring. Now, some of this routers are working up to now and for some site  are already defective so I need to replace the old 2801 router with a new equivalent model which is Cisco 2901. My plan was just to load the old config into the new Cisco 2901 router. However, after loading it to the new router, I am a little worried because I've got some errors received. I load the old config by copying the old files, edit it in notepad, and load the config using Secure CRT (terminal emulator). When I copy the old config of cisco 2801 to new router cisco 2901 , below are the command not recognized on Cisco 2901. What's wrong ? What are these commands for?
Appreciate your comments and help on this matter.. Thank You very much
Note: I Attached the original config from Cisco 2801 and the other file is the config after I load the config file to Cisco 2901.

    Hi
    From Cisco's website:
The Modem Management Interface (MMI) is software that enables auto-provisioning for the Cisco 827 routers. The MMI uses a fixed PVC to communicate with the Proxy Element (PE) residing on the digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM). Using MMI, the Cisco 827 router updates the running image and downloads the prescribed configuration using a configuration file or configuration values in a provisioning information database.
The customer premise equipment (CPE) can be automatically configured using the Cisco DSL CPE download, but it can be configured only with the image provisioning feature.
So because this is your device, you don't want to use MMI anyways.
And "priority-list" is QoS. Probably that QoS-command is old and removed, because now QoS is configured using class-maps and policy-maps.

  • Cisco ISE configs for switch

I suppose Cisco ISE sends a URL redirect to the switch and the switch presents it to the client in case of guest Access getting a URL redirect with User Acceptance Page (Wired Guests and not wireless).
My question here is, Do we need to configure http and https server on the switches (both supplicant and authenticator)?
I am sure it will need but just wanted a confirmation..
I have checked the configuration for supplicant and Authenticator switches for ISE and it has no where mentioned that part of the config.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.0/user_guide/ise10_troubleshooting.html (a problem of URL redirection and possible cause is mentioned) ------- makes me sure that the config is needed.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960x/software/15-0_2_EX/security/configuration_guide/b_sec_152ex_2960-x_cg/b_sec_152ex_2960-x_cg_chapter_010000.html
(config of supplicant and authenticator switch)---- nowhere mentioned of the http/https config for both switches.

Yes, its needed.  The http/s server within the swtich is used to grab the http user traffic and redirect the traffic to the CWA portal, or a device registration portal, or even to the Mobile Device Management (MDM) onboarding portal.  .
    ip http server
    ip http secure-server
The info below I grabbed from Cisco ISE for BYOD and secure unified access book.
"Many organization want to ensure that this redirection process using the switch's internal HTTP server is decoupled from the management of the switch itself, in order to limit the chances of an end user interacting with the management intervace and control plane of a switch.  this may be accomplished by running the following two commands from global configuration mode:
    ip http active-session-modules none
    ip http secure-active-session-modules none"

  • Cisco VG248 config archive fails

I beleive in the past these devices could not be managed bij RME config management, but now it says in the supported device table:
    The following features are supported:
    Network Topology Layer 2 Services
    Fault Management
    Inventory Collection
Configuration Deploy Protocols: TELNET, SSH, TFTP, RCP
Configuration Fetch Protocols: TELNET, SSH, TFTP, RCP
The password and enable pasword are correct and simply work when I try a telnet from the server.
The gui is not CLI but menu driven.
    RME just says:
TELNET: Failed to establish TELNET connection to 10.1.1.7 - Cause: Authentication failed on device 3 times. PRIMARY-RUNNING config Fetch Operation failed for TFTP. Could not detect SSH protocols running on the device.
    What can be wrong?
    Cheers,

  • Cisco 1300 configs; ROOT - NON ROOT

    I'm using a AIR-BR1310-E-K9-R as ROOT and 5 NON ROOTS type (AIR-BR1310-E-K9).
Im looking for a default config to setup a wireless PTMP link between the ROOT and the NON ROOTS. To make this wireless connection i'm using an AIR-ANT2506

In a point-to-multipoint configuration, two or more non-root bridges associate to a root bridge. Up to 17 non-root bridges can associate to a root bridge, but the non-root bridges must share the available bandwidth See "Configuring the Access Point/Bridge for the First Time," for instructions on initial bridge setup.

  • Can someone share their Cisco PIX config?

Running a Cisco PIX 515 with a front-end/back-end Exchange server set up. Problem I am having is that the calendar will sync once and then never again. I delete the account, recreate it and sometimes it will show up but for the most part it will not.
I have no issue with OWA, BlackBerrys or Windows Mobile devices. They all do everything perfect. Just the iPhone giving me grief. And that has only been really bad since the upgrade to 2.0.1!
I have checked everything except comparing my PIX config with someone elses. Can someone post their "timeout" lines from a PIX 5XX running 6.X.X?
    Thanks so much!

Oh trust me, I am in the same exact boat as most people. One man's configuration might work for him, but doesn't work for me. It's really, really bizarre that there does not seem to be any consistency.
Anyway, here's our timeout - good thing I checked!

  • Cisco lms - config collection

Hi, i'm looking for a way to collect config's from specific devices periodically, is this possible?
for example, collect configs from firewalls everyday at midnight , and collect routers config once a week.
firewalls: (about 3 devices, config changes every day)
routers: (about 800 devices, rarely change the config)
the only config collection schedule i have found so far is too simple:
admin > collection settings > config > config collecion settings > periodic collection
second question, is it possible for cisco lms to send via e-mail the diff of the config pulled from devices? i mean the specific commands that have appeared in the new configuration file.
    regards, ignacio

Unfortunately, LMS syslog mechanism is very minimalistic and doesn't have a lot of options to it.
However, the feature you're requesting is not very much LMS dependent. As, Ciscoworks depends on the kind of syslog message it receives from device, based on it, it captures some characters to send a notification as automated actions.
So usually it is the device which won't send a lot of information on what changes was done by which user in normal IOS syslog messages.
But, to certain extent, you can try to configure you device for Configuration-Change logger to receive details on what changes were made by users and check it on the syslog report, or configure AA on it for all or important devices.
You can enable a configuration logger to keep track of configuration changes made with the command-line interface (CLI). When you enter the logging enable configuration-change logger configuration command, the log records the session, the user, and the command that was entered to change the configuration. You can configure the size of the configuration log from 1 to 1000 entries (the default is 100). You can clear the log at any time by entering the no logging enable command followed by the logging enable command to disable and reenable logging.
    Use the:
show archive log config {all | number [end-number] | user username [session number] number [end-number] | statistics} [provisioning] privileged EXEC command to display the complete configuration log or the log for specified parameters.
This example shows how to enable the configuration-change logger and to set the number of entries in the log to 500:
     Switch(config)# archive
     Switch(config-archive)# log config
     Switch(config-archive-log-cfg)# logging enable
     Switch(config-archive-log-cfg)# logging size 500
     Switch(config-archive-log-cfg)# end
So, in all, it depends on the device and the kind of syslogs it send for LMS to react on it.
    -Thanks

  • Cisco ACS config file

    Hi all,
I have a cisco ACS V.4.0 server and want to get the config file. How can I get the CLI command prompt ? Or, Any where I can get the config file ?
    Thanks

You can always take ACS backup from the GUI by going to System Configuration >>  Click ACS Backup >> enter the FTP information >> Backup now.
    Performing a Manual ACS Backup
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.0/user/guide/sba.html#wp222516
Once you connected to ACS via CLI the default username and password if not changed would be

  • CISCO ASA config issue (Remote management ASDM/SSH/etc)

I cant ping the device from 10.23.1.x either, I can ping it on 10.23.2.x though.

I have a couple ASA devices than I want to be able to manage across our network. I have two devices, Device A-10.23.1.10 the other is on 10.23.2.10, if I remote into a machine on the 10.23.2.x network I can connect through SSH and ASDM, but on the 10.23.1.x network I can not connect.. I have the ASDM configured to accept connection from both netowkrs. any idea why it does not work, the remote ASA is on the local/inside netwkr just on a diff subnet.

  • Cisco works changes ignored when someone leaves config mode

Hi When a user leaves cisco router config mode, a syslog message is triggered pointing to my Cisco works device.
but the changes ignored when someone leaves config mode (i.e., not picked up until the next scheduled archive)
is it possible in cisco works to immediately archive the configuration of router, when someone leaves Config mode?
if yes , can someone guide how to accomplish this?
    thank you in advance

    Hi!
I think you want to use the automatic action for config fetch which comes with ciscoworks, right?
Did you check that the syslog message from the router came to the server?
