Ck11n, ck24

can anyone explain me how to use transactions ck11n & ck24 in detail because when i am using transaction ck24 i get message of 0 materials 0 cost estimates were sucessfully updated

Hi Amit
Follow the below steps
First make sure your master data of the material is correct in all the views
Both Costing View & accounting view are maintained correctly
Proper cost center & activity types are assigned in the material master & work center
Change activity Type/ Price Planning: KP26
Enter the controlling area: 1000
Version : 0
From Period : 1
To Period : 12
Fiscal Year : 2011
Cost center : xxxx( Ex:4230)
Activity Type: xxxx(Ex:1420)
To : xxxx(Ex:1422)
Select: Form Based
Execute
Here you have to get Fixed Price & Variable Price
Then go to
Create Material Cost Estimates with Quantity Structure: CK11N
Material : xxxxx(Ex: Matrem)
Plant : xxx(Ex: 1000)
In the costing data Tab
Costing Variant : xxxx(Ex: PPC1)
Costing Version:xxx ( Ex: 1)
Costing Lot size : xxx(Ex: 1)
Transfer Control :xxxx(Ex: PC01)
In the dates Tab :
Click on Default values
Then change the dates , if req.
In the QTY. Struct Tab
Select the Production version: xxx ( Ex : 0002)
Then enter
System will ask for update parameters
Select all Enter
Then you have to get the display with Standard cost estimate ( with Values, update)
Once it is OK, then go for the next step
Updating the material master with Standard Cost: CK24
Here you have to do the marking first
Run in the test run mode, if find ok, then remove the test run & execute again
Then Release
Save
Hope this will help

  • Effects of Split Valuation on CK11N / CK24 / ML

    Hi Gurus,
    We are using material ledger.
Now we plan to use split valuation as well.
Is there any kind of effect of split valuation on CO-PC, especially on calculation (CK11N), price update (CK24), material-ledger?
    Thank you!
    Tad

If you use split valuation, then for releasing the cost at valuation type level, you will need to activate mixed costing configuration. You will also need to maintain procurement alternatives (t code KK91N), specifying the sourec for each valuation type and also the mixing ratio i.e. weightage for each alternative (t code CK94).
There is no change in CK11 or CK40N)

  • Difference between sale order costing doing in SO & Doing in CK11N and CK24

Is there any difference between , costing carried out in Sale Order level by cliking on line item and then thru caluculater Icon in Sale Order    &    running CK11N > CK24.
    PLS HELP ME OUT

Plan Cost means this is the cost of Product or Material or Activity or any others statistical price which we estimate and Plan prices for organizations future activities.
Actual cost is the original/Actual cost we incurred for Product or Material or Activity or any other.
Target cost are the costs that are expected for a certain operating rate.  It is the dynamic value which will be calculated on the basis Operating rate (Operating rate = (Actual activity / Plan activity) X 100), and It is a consistent basis useful for comparisons of the plan and actual costs of a period.
    Ex:
we plan $110 per hour of Labor activity.
but we incurred $125 as actual cost.
for this Target cost is (125/110)*100=113
We use Costing variant for plan to calculate plan price of Order.
when order is created system posts planned costs to the order according to standard cost estimate of product, which uses the planned cost variant.
when the production is carried out Actual costs are posted to the order using Costing variant for actual.  when order is completed system uses this two values to calculate the variance of production order. which can be settled to FI.
    Hope U got...

  • Price update CK24

    Hi freinds,
After ck11n (material cost estimate) i run the price update(ck24) but the after entering all the details marking is done.
Upon release the system is giving "No plants able to be selected"
Pl tell me what is the issue?
    regards
    Ramesh

    Hi ramesh
If u mark & release using CK11n & CK24 the marking is done as of the beginning of the month if costing is being done on 1st of the month or if u ar doing in the middle of the month it  costing run can be saved only for the next month and marking and release is also done for the next month, check the fiscal period of the costing run saved by CK11N. to avoid this u shoud use t-code CK40n for both costing run and marking and releasing this would save costing run as on date . If a costing run already exists delete using CKR1 and again cost using CK40N.
    This whould solve ur problem.

  • Equivalent to KKPAN+CK24 for without quantity structure costing

    Hi,
In costing we can use CK40N instead of CK11n+CK24 (with quantity structure) as far as I know. Is there any single tcode like CK40N for us to do both cost estimate creation and marking and release instead of using both KKPAN+CK24 for without quantity structure costing?
    Thanks
    M.K

    Dear MK,
CK40N  = CK11N only for exploding BOM and saving cost Estimate.   +  CK24 (open perid and mark the pice and update the price)
All in one place, see below screenshot.

  • Error while accessing transaction codes through URL's in IFrame UI element

    Hi Experts,
I have created Transaction iviews ck91N, ck11N, ck24 in SAP NW CE7.2. I am accessing these Transaction iviews through URL's in webdynpro java application. I am using IFrame UI element in a Roadmap UI for each transaction code.
when i access step1 i.e ck91N in a IFrame it is working fine then i click button for step2, it displays the following error.

Then next step3 it is working fine. If i change Road Map steps Ck11N,ck91N,ck24 in this order then first one is working fine second one gives error and third one is working fine again. It is working alternatively. I don't understand why this is happening? when i use LinkToURL for these 3 URL's then they are working fine. LinkTOURL opens in new browser(window) and in Roadmap i am accessing 3 URL's in same browser(window).

  • Accounting doc not generated at the time of billing

    Hi
Scenario is that we are going to import some products from thailand for onward local sales. New product is opened with price control v and price determination 2-(transaction based). With this setting, and without running cost estimae, we have completed PR, PO, MIGO, MIRO PGI and sales document and then stucked at SD invoice with error messge. Following questions are in my mind:
    1.  We will be using this product both for purchase and sale. For purchase purpose, price control v is ok, but what for sale ? all fert material is on s.
    2.  For all Fert material, we execute cost estimate being FIRST step before doing any goods movement. What for this ?
    3.  For all other fert, cost estimates CK11N, CK24, MF30 and KF6n. MF30 and KF6n ask for Production version etc., so we should not at all execute any cost estimate or only ck11n and ck24 ? If we dont run any cost estimate, we stuck at invoice stage as per attached messages.
    Error is :
    Message No.KE350
The system looked for the material cost estimate using costing key Z01 as defined in the cutomizing settings for COPA

    Hi Imdad
The Key to your situation is a separate mat type
It is advisable that you create a separate mat type for traded materials.. SAP Standard Mat Type is HAWA
In KE4J or KEPC - You can exclude this Mat Type i.e. dont assign costing keys for it
No need to run Std cost estimate for such materials
Ensure you have VPRS condition type in SD Pricing Procedure... That will ensure COGS flow to COPA (Cosgting based)

  • Steps for Period end closing

    Hi All,
Can any one please provide me with the actual steps towards Period end Closing and year end closing for Financial Closing.By step I mean steps in order i.e which step will be followed by which one.
    This is urgent
    Pinee

    Hi
    http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/fico/sap-fi-month-end-and-year-end-activities.htm
First you will have to close the Posting period in the Materials Management side. To do this use the T.Code MMPV and give the period that needs to be Opened. Once this is done you will not be able to Post any Material Documents in the previous period.
Now at the Financial side you need to open the next period and at the same time you need to close the Previous period. This can be done in T.Code OB52
here is the list for FI/CO year end closing check list:
now i am sending one document with T.codes

  • Product costing related querry

What are the settings and configurations that are required to be done for production order costing by PP and FICO modules so that the order gets costing. I am told there are settings for activity type in workcenter. Also terms like cost carriers that bind the workcenter and the cost center and finally this data flowing after the confirmation is done.
Kindly explain the process and how to do the same in SAP system also.

    Dear Varun Kapoor,
    Check this,
Product Cost = Materials Cost(ROH + HALB Materials Cost)Activity Cost (Operation Cost)Overhead Cost.
1.Raw materials cost are generally entered as Planned price along with the valid from date in Costing 2 view, and price
control indicator is "V".Origin group has to be given to all the Raw materials in costing 1 view.
2.For HALB Materials Price control indcator will be S for Inhouse manufactured & V for externally processed materials (Sub-
Contracted Items) respectively. Also assign Overhead group for all Inhouse manufactured items if a costing sheet is maintained for
    overheads..
3.No need to enter any value(price) for the materials having S as the price indicator and for Sub-contracted itesm that's F30 also no
need to enter any cost in the material master.
4.Activity cost is the cost incurred in performing individual operation. This cost is captured via the work center which we mention in
each operation in the routing of that product.A Cost centre and an appropriate activity type is assigned in the work centre.
5.Proper Rates should be assigned for the combination of Activity type and Cost centre.
6.Overhead cost is the indirect cost that we capture according to the customer's requirement.
7.If certain items for certain products alone should not be considered for costing means, then we can achieve this using
costing relevancy indicator in the BOM and for the activity(operation's mentioned in routing) which should not be considered for costing
also can be mapped by removing the costing relevancy indicator in routing.
Overhead group is aasigned in Costing1 view.
    8.Creating Cost center - KS01
    9.Create Activity Type - KL01.
    10.Assiging Rates for a cost center/activity type combination in T code KP26.
    11.Cost estimate Related T codes are CK40N,CK11N,CK24.
12.UseCK40N always,so that you can do the costing ,mark the price and release the same.Generally Cost Rollup will be taken for
Finished product so that the sytem automatically calculates for the Semi-Finsihed products standard cost.
13.IF you use CK11N,then only costing will be done, but for marking and release you have to use CK24.
14.For each Production order type in T code OPL8 Order Type Dependent Parameters - Under controlling tab - Costing variant Planned
and actual has to be assigned.
15.In REM scenario - Product Cost Collector has to be created using T code KKF6N for all Inhouse Manufactured assemblies.

  • Delete cost run & reset release for current month

For our client we have created a new plant while testing this plant user created a material and they have done a cost run in ck11n  with costing varient zv01 but in they released the cost with costing varient ppc1 with this system got inconsistency and not not allowing to release cost for any other material in the current month if we try to mark it for next month it is working fine.
we deleted the cost run through ck44 & ckr1 then also we are faceing the same problem. Kindly give me the solution how can i reset the release and later i want to run the ck11n & ck24 for material in the current month  to do  the production cycle.  please consider this is as a urgent.
    Regards

    Hi
Whether you should do MR21 or not ??
    a. If the cost estimate you reversed belongs to Last month and you are going to post the GR in last month then you should do MR21
    b. if the cost estimate you reversed belongs to may and GR will also be posted in May - No need for Mr21... Because, even though you release cost on say, may 2nd, the cost always gets released from the Start of the Month

  • Material Price updation through Material Ledger

    Hi,
I implemented the ML and after executing the ML Costing run & on 1st movement of material( Dynamic price release) the The Per Unit price* which is calculated in ML costing run is not updating in the current std price area in Costing View 2 Tab.
I think the previous periods( for which I did ML Costing Run)  Per unit price has to update in the Current planned price in Costing View 2. Instead of this , the std planned price of previous period only updating in the "future Planned price".
Please explain how to get the Previous period Moving price in Current Planned price in Costing View 2.
    T & R,
    C.Balaji

    Hi,
I did CK11N & CK24 in Feb for example, and the price updated in current std cost estimate.
after month end closing I did CKMLCP,  I heard that after completing all the sequence of oparations, The actual cost incurred for the material will update in Perunit price and Price controle will become from S to V, and we can get the Moving avarage price of Feb will become the Std price for the March month.
This is not happening , How we can get this Moving Avarage price of Feb month as a Std current price in March month.
Pls inform wether it is possible or not, if possible what is the method to get.
    T & R,
    C.Balaji

  • Price cannot be updated in MM03

    Dear All,
we have updated the price in MR21 i got this message "current or future price std price exist".

    Hi Mastan,
If the material ledger is active, a price change for a material with price determination 3 (single- and multilevel material price determination) is only possible if there have been no goods movements relevant to valuation and no incoming invoices for the material in the period.
If the ML is active, the 1st activity in the new period should be Standard cost price release. You should do this task before any goods/invoice movements for the material in the new period. You have to release Standard cost price before the Actual Costing run closing entry.
e.g.For Sep 11, 1st activity in Sept 11 should be Standard cost release. After this release you can have Goods/invoice movements in Sep 11. You can start for Actual Costing Run for Aug 11. (generally in 1st week of Sep.).
As a standard procedure, if ML is active, if the above conditions are not fulfilled, you will not be able to release the price in the same period.
    There are workarounds:
*If you are using a Split Valuation & Mixed costing: CKR1, create a New Valuation type (MM01), CK11N & CK24.
*Change period status of the material (what is the current period status for the material, you can find in CKM3N).
These workarounds have other consequences. Unless there is no other way for you have to think of the workarounds.
    BR,
    ADI
