Close application NW 7.3

Hi all,
I have an application that executes from UWL and I want to close it when the user executes some actions. I have this working in NW 04s with the following code:

The close.html is an HTML with JAVASCRIPT code to close the browser.
When migrating this application to NW 7.3 the TaskBinder class is not available.
I already try with
WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getResponseObject().encodeRedirectURL(url);
And with the exit plug of the interface wiew and does not work.
Any suggestions?

Technically, yes.
All apps once activated remain techincally open but suspend themselves when navigated away from.
The email app however, lets say you go in, and it starts the manual checking of mail. If you leave it, it will continue with that check until done. Then stop (but check again if you set your mail settings to check on an interval).
Other apps, suspend themselves.

How do I close applications.

I'm new to Apple, have an iPad and want to know how to close applications to save power. It seems like when I do a four finger sweep of the screen, I go through all of the applications I've had open that day. Thanks for any help.

Apps in the mutitasking bar are not a power using concern. IF you want to conserve battery power here are a few tips:
cycle power on your device daily to reset background processes (different from mulitasking bar)
turn off wi-fi ask to join networks - so not always looking for networks
turn off bluetooth if not using it
turn off notifications for things you dont need
set mail to check manually
Other than that there are other apps that help you manage battery life and such.

Fsmailserver: memory full. Close applications and ...

Hi,
I am using 4 e-mail accounts:
Three imap accounts for which i am syncing e-mail every 15 minutes
One Mail for Exchange account i am syncing google calendar with
After a while (sometimes already after a few hours, sometimes after a few days) i get the error message “fsmailserver: memory full. Close applications and try again”. This happens whenever new mail gets in and whenever i am sending a new e-mail.
This N8, however, has plenty of memory left! When i close all running applications via the task menu and i also close the e-mail application, then restart the e-mail application, the error message is still issued. It also doesn’t ring the normal new-email sound anymore, but gives two short error clicks.
Very annoying because now i am not even notified of new e-mail any more when this happens. So that makes the N8 very unreliable for e-mail, which is one of the main aspects of a smart phone anyway!
I can only fix the error by switching the N8 off and on again.... But after a while it will happen again!

Sorry for the delay in telling you all about how to make ur nokia phone work extremely fast.Here it goes:-
1)Uninstall any Email App which you have installed its a load on the processor
2)Messaging,Options,settings,other,memory in use E:mass memory
3)Install Cleaner...App available on mobile9.com.Try googleing it up.
4)Install Swiss Manager Pro...Availabe on mobile 9.com n when ever you r free go to the files option on top right hand side...open C Drive,System,Dmgr n temp n del all the files in this folder your C drive memory ll improve drastically.
5)Deleate your browser history frm time to time.
TC all the tricks r well tested on my n97 mini.

How do you fully close applications?

How do you fully close application that have been opened? My battery life does not seem to be very long, so I am thinking that applications must still be running that I am unaware of.

Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, tap & hold the app icon until they all start to wiggle, tap the red minus sign, tap the home button when finished.

Make sure your browser is closed and check to see if there are any processes related to Acrobat still running. If you are using Windows, Control-Alt-Delete > Processes tab. Look for AcroRd32.exe or Acrobat.exe or Acrotray.exe and stop these processes from running before you try your update again. A good ol' computer reboot might do the trick for you too.

Start with the third box in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
If that doesn't work, use the steps in the second box to repair your iTunes installation. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup advice elsewhere in the user tip.

What do you do if the application (Azureus) does not appear to be scriptable?
No AppleScript library for it appears in AppleScript Editor. It is a Java App. When I attempted to run the script it just times out for ever waiting for a reply from Azureus. Azureus itself sets up the spinning beachball of death.
I was hoping to simply be able to record closing the application/s by going to its menu and selecting "Close". Unfortunately, according to Macscripter, OSX applications do not support this.
Which makes me wonder why it is such an obvious part of AppleScript Editor's GUI. A cruel joke by Apple perhaps?

ActiveX to open and close application

I am new to LV (have 6.1). What I want to do is open up an external application when a certain LV action is performed (like a boolean button, or something similar), minimize the LV application (will use Application Builder here), and close it when a different LV action is taken (a different boolean button, or something similar). I need to keep the LV app running while this other app runs so I can perform other minor tasks simultaneously. The external app needs to close so the LV app can regain control of the serial ports, among other things.
From what I've gathered so far on LV and ActiveX, there's a set of things one can do. Lots of stuff with dialog boxes, and other things like that built into Microsoft, and MS programs (Excel being quite popular). This external program is a custom program.
Any ideas?

Well, it all really depends on the custom program and how it was written. Does it have an ActiveX interface? If it does, than that's the easiest way to go. If you put an automation refnum on the fron panel, you can right click and it and choose Select ActiveX Class>Browse. The browser will list all of the ActiveX type libraries that are registered on your system. If you can find one that refers to your custom program, then you should be able to use it's methods and properties to control. If it does not have an ActiveX interface, then things get much more difficult.

That's not how Mac OS X works (at least by default), and isn't what most people want anyway, it's just what they are used to in Windows and stems from a time past where users typically did one thing (or at least only ran one application) at a time. It made sense for that application to use all the screen.
That is no longer the case in modern operating systems where users may have many applications running at once, and benefit from being able to overlay applications.
It's even more true when you look at modern applications with their myriad of toolbars, palettes, etc. - you need to be able to position the document windows independent of the user interface elements.
And it's yet more true when you look at modern hardware options like a 30" display. There is no way it is practical to zoom a web page, for example, to fill a 30" screen.
Instead Apple's model leaves it to the developer to determine what the optimal size is for their windows. For a page-creation application (e.g. word processing, desktop publishing, etc.) it makes sense for the document window to size relative to the page being created. For a graphics application such as Photoshop it makes sense for the window to size based on the image being edited, and for a web application such as Safari it makes sense for the document window to size based on the web page you're viewing. In most cases, none of these make sense to fill the screen.
Now there are cases where it is valid to fill the screen such as presentations and kiosks, but for these you typically need applications designed for such purposes (e.g. Keynote or PowerPoint for presentations) but it is still the responsibility of the application to set its view accordingly.

When we shutdown the pc,it showing force to close application and how to avoid this.

Whenever i am shutting down the computer,every time it is showing " force to close the application" YES or NO.If we click on YES,it is closing the application and shutting down.
Even i have checked, none of the applications are running but it is showing force to close the applications.If we click on Yes,it is shutting down.
Please let me know how what are the checklist to be checked in the computer before shutting down the computer.

Method one:
You could use the command to force shutdown:
1. Open the command prompt with administrator.
2. Type shutdown /f /s /t 00
3. Press Enter.
It would shutdown the Windows immediately.
Method two:
Create a shortcut of shotdown that would work immediately
1. Right click desktop， select New-> Shortcut
2. Type as below:
3. Click Next and then create the shortcut name to finish it.
4. You also could pin it to taskbar as other application(optional).
Every time you need to shutdown the computer, run this shortcut.
Method three:
