Collaboration Iview

Hi All,
This is regarding an iview to directly access a collaboration room. Our requirement is to have a workset that takes the users directly to their collab room.
We do not want to use the 'Room Directory' and then let users click on a room for access. Is there any way to do it?
I tried creating a URL iview but it does not work properly. My link to the room is like:
http://mycompany.com:50000/irj/index.html?navigationtarget=collaborationconnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/30819b55-f08c-2710-68a2-88d53527c1cd/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
Is there anything like a navigation target iview that I can use for this?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ST

Hi Susanne,
I have solved the similar problem.Pls find the solution below:
1.First create a copy of the Default framework page and edit it.
2.Untick the visible checkbox for Portal masthead, toplevel navigation and detailed navigation and save it.
3.Create a URL for accessing this link like irj/servlet/pcd...
4.Now coming to the coll. room URL, create a URL iview with the above URL and pass the Collaboration connector as parameter to the URL iview.
It worked for me.
If u need further clarification, mail me at [email protected]
Pls. consider rewarding points if u find it helpful.
Thanks,
Vasu.

  • System Error in Collaboration iView

I received a System Error in a Collaboration iView.  This was caused by a NullPointerException.
The real question I have is there was a link at the bottom to "Report Error".  This was only a mailto link that attaches the stack trace to the email.
How do I configure that mailto email address?  It was blank in our Portal.

    Hi Neeli,
1.Update your customer master record with tax jurisdiction codes, Please check ship to & sold to customer master records for tax codes. If this does not work goto 2.
2.Add the txjcd to the accounting document to be reveresed as well as change the tax category from the previous tax calc procedure to the current one. This will then allow the document to be reversed.
The document that needs to be released, and is getting the 'can't find tax code' error in the notes.
Correct values for TXJCD, TXJDP and TXJLV need to be added to the oringal document records that is to be released, tables: BSEG BSET KNOV and VBRP. In addition look into table KNOV for the field KNTYP. We had to address the KNTYP field in KONV because it stored the code for the previous taxing procedure, which cant be found in the current one. Changing it to the equivalent code for the current taxing proceudure worked.
Change information for each of the changed records should there be a need to go back. But so far it seems to be working. Tho some of the notes indicate the need to add txjcd data to existing records to fix a similar problem, we needed to go a step further and modify records in 2 additional table.
Again. We went from non-jurisdiction method where no jurisdictional information was captured to jurisdictional sales tax. And the issue is around reversing documents that were originally created in the previous taxing procedure. If this doe not work check 3.
3.Please refer SAP note 1157690 it has given code correction for this problem in function module.
    Thank You

  • Collaboration Room iViews give error -- Database related errors -- Pls Help

    Hello Everyone,
We are on EP 6.0 SP 17 (Netweaver 2004).
KMC component was installed separately (Deployed manually).
We are trying to create simple Collaboration Rooms and we are facing some issues with the same.
I am following the documentation on SAP Help for the Room Creation:
Help  SAP Netweaver 2004  People Integration  Collaboration  Administration Guide
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1d/3d59fdaa5ebb45967ea107d3fa117a/frameset.htm
We are able to create rooms based on pre-defined templates and we are also able to add members to rooms, send/receive the invitation emails. I am able to work with Instant Messaging also.
But the problem is that some of the iViews related to Collaboration Rooms are giving errors.
1.<b> “Discussion” iView gives an error saying “You do not have access permission” (even the user has all the necessary roles assigned).</b>
Log for this error is as follows:

I tried to change the permissions of the “Discussion” iView, but it did not work either.

Are there any KM related configurations necessary other than those mentioned in the document I am referring to?
Are there any database related configurations that are required?

    Hello Lars,
First of all thank you for your reply.
    <b>do u use Collaboration first time?</b>
Yes, we just started using Collaboration and this is our first requirement.
    <b>Which roles do u have?</b>
I have all the required roles (Super Admin, Content Management, Collaboration, Collaboration Room Creation).
I know that these features are available in NW04 SP 17 without any limitations. I have reviewed SAP Notes 707730, 711093, 709354 and 946470 also.
This problem is with only a few Collaboration iViews.
I am able to create Rooms, Enter Rooms, Receive Invitation e-mails without any problem.
Any suggestions about any possible missing configurations ?
    Thanks Again,

  • Customized My Room Iview Template in Collaboration

    Hello Everybody,
I want to customize the My Room Iview in collaboration iviews where i want to remove the Template filter from the iview so that i should get Name and Category filter only. I want the user to filter his /her room on the basis of room and category only.
Kindly provide some helpful tips for achieving this.Looking forward.
    Thanks and Regards to all,
    Sarabjeet Singh.

    Hi Neil / Sarabjeet,
    Thanks for the reply.
I believe we are talking about distinct iViews. For your answer, it seems that you're talking about the My Rooms iView derived from RoomDirectory (in which it is a tab). This is the only location i found the parameter you specified, and  the only one where i can show filter boxes. Am I right?
However, i am trying to customize the other My Rooms iView, the one which is a drop-down box showing the rooms in which i participate, also called Room Quick Launch. I couldn't find the same parameter for this iView. Is there any other way?
    Thanks in advance

  • TREX search problem in collaboration room search

    Hi,
I receive this error when I try to search from collaboration rooms:
Error during search occurred: com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: multi-server search failed on some of the servers;error=2982,location=gruffi:31613;error=2982,location=gruffi:31643 (Errorcode 2975)

Any ideas how to fix that?
    Regards,
    Ladislav

    Hi
i think the trex services in os is not started.
    Please do the following:
    1. Restart the TREX Service from the OS. In Windows go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services. Look for TREX Instance XX
    2. Check if the system process TREXIndexServer(.exe) runs. In Windows just open the Taskmanager and look for the process.
    3. Go to the TREX log folder "\usr\sap\trex_61\trace". Check for errors in the file TrexIndexServer.XXXXX.XXX.trc

  • Urgent problem: customizing collaboration room annoucement page

    Hi all,
I am creating a project room template by modifying the Standard Project Room template delivered by SAP.
Here is what I want to do:
For the Announcement page that contains the Date Announcements (roomNews) iView and the Milestones iView, I want to make it such that only someone in the projectLead room role can edit them.  Regular project members can only view the Date Annoucements and the Milestones but cannot create new news or milestones.
    1) I guess the best way is to create copies of the iViews and remove the 'new' link from them.  Any hints about how to go about doing this?  I realize that the layout sets of the two iViews (called AppMilestoneExplorer and AppAnnouncementExplorer respectively) do not have any command groups in their Resource Renderers.  The 'edit' link from the option tray of these iViews will open up to a new page containing either the AppAnnouncementExplorerEdit or the AppMilestoneExplorerEdit iViews (this is by default, from SAP).  How can I see the connection between these two sets of iViews (the ones appended with 'Edit' and the ones without)?  The Annoucement page only contains the iViews with the AppMilestoneExplorer and AppAnnouncementExplorer layout sets...
    2) In order to remove the 'new' link, do I just go into the Link Command Group and remove the command from the command list itself?  What are the difference between Resource, Folder, and Link Command groups?
    3) I am to create two iViews (one with the corresponding command in the layout intact and one modified), assign each of them to different pages and then furthermore assign the projectLead role to one page and the regular member role to the other.  However, how is it possible to make the two pages in 'sync' to one and other.  For instance, if the projectLead creates a new annoucement in his own annoucement page, then the regular members should be able to see this annoucement updated on theirs.  Does this has something to do with setting up an extension in the template, relating to the two iViews together (ie. by having the two iViews pointing to the same extension)?  Anyone can elaborate on this? (I am just making an eduated guess)
Thanks, urgent problems, points will be awarded generously
    Charles

    Hi sweta,
It is known issue and recently I have the same problem ;). You must add suitable permission for end user to the iView: portal_content/com.sap.pct/Collaboration/iViews/com.sap.netweaver.coll.CMSearch. It is placed here: Portal Content->Content Provided by SAP->Collaboration->iViews->CM Search. For me it seems to be a bug, because template worksets which you are using for your room doesn't contain this iView. I've opened OSS request and they suggested changing permissions. I've also asked for some explanation why wrong search iView is used inside room worksets but I am still waiting for replay.
    Best Regards,
    Michal M.

  • Some text elements are missing

    Hi there!
From some time (I didn't noticed exactly) some text elements disappered in collaboration iviews.
For example if I try to go to some info-site collaboration room and add announcement, new window is opened with no texts, but only input fields to be filled. There's also no text on 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons. So it's hard to understand what input field is for what purpose :o)
    Why could it happen?
We're on SAP EP SP13 on WebAS 6.40, KM and Coll are also SP13.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi once again!

  • Add to Favorites on EP6 SP13

I do not see "Add to Favorites" option in the options menu of pages and views. Is the option "Add to Portal favorites" disabled for iviews and pages in SP13 release?
Can someone, please, confirm and let me know.
    Thanks,
      Mandar

    Hi Mandar
Did you find out why the add to favorites option is not visible. I am using the same version of the portal as you are and I have selected the add to favorites option for the iview and also page but it is not being shown in the options menu.
Can somebody please tell me why this is happening because I am able to see this for some iviews and pages like collaboration iviews, KM documents but not for the other iviews and pages.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

  • Guidance on KMC scenarios

    Hi All,
Im making an attempt to pick up some basic knowledge on KMC and could really use some help from all you experts out there. I've been going through the Wiki pages, blogs and how-tos but I'm unable to get an overall picture of how KM and Collaboration work together. There are n number of iView templates in the iView wizard for KMC, but no documents to explain how they work together.
From an end-user perspective, i can think of the following scenarios to implement:
    1) Create collaboration rooms for every department in a company for example.
Features that I want to incorporate in this room are:
Allow users to see a list of all members in the department, their status (online/offline etc)
Enable group members to upload documents that is visible to all team members (once approved by team lead)
Enable member to email each other
Enable members to set up meeting requests
Have a newsgroup where various departments can publish important info on a regularly basis, and enable users to subscribe to these newsgroups
Have a blogsphere where members can publish blogs and others may comment or provide feedback (similar to SDN blogs)
Once rooms are created, how do we go about assigning them to users (am not clear on this)
I would really appreciate if anybody could provide me documents or the right links that provide detailed guides on how to go about achieving the above and explain how the various KM and Collaboration iViews can be used in conjunction.
    Thanks in advance!!

  • Room Creation Translation

I must translate some texts from the Room Creation Wizard.
I can find the bundle with them in the PAR file "com.sap.netweaver.coll.appl.ui.room.par", but when I add the iview "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/Collaboration/iViews/com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomCreationWizard" to a Translation Worklist they do not appear to be translated.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks.

    Hi Denis,
The Translation-Worklist is only for the Values of the i-View, like the Description and the Name in the Navigation. The Bundle-Files are not effected by the Portal-Content-Tranlation tool.
If you have the Bundle-File you have to use the Netweaver-Developer-Studio to change the Bundle. Normatly in the Bundles there are one File (e.g. tranlation_de.properties for the German tranlation) for each language. After creating more files for other Languages you have to debploy the par-file with the new Tranlations.
