Configuring error message in BEx link in SPM 2.1

Hi,
Currently working on Spend Performance Management(SPM) 2.1 application. I am trying to configure error message which pops up along with BEx link whenever we run reports with large amount of data.
I would like to configure error message so that it displays "Large data in report", hence user find it easier to understand why he is being given BEx link.
Please guide me on this.

Hi ,
As suggested above , you'd have to remove content creator role if your user profile has it .
When you go to
- application properties > General > Warning mesg for large reports(field) and
- change the default message ,
- hit save logout of the application ,
- log back in
- go back to application properties > General > Warning mesg for large reports(field) and

By default, ADF validation usually displays an alert with an error message and a link to the error field.
I have some custom validations where I finally display the error message with this:

"Configuration Error" message on launching Admin tool

Hi
I installed OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.6 client on windows 7 machine and created a DSN also. When I launch the admin tool. I get "configuration error" message.
Can someone help in identifying what it is and how to resolve it.

For future readers, I was able to resolve this problem. Here's how:
For the "Configuration Error" dialog when doing a stand-alone 64-bit Windows client install, you need to go to the "C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\bin" directory, change the permissions to the "bi_init.cmd" file so you can edit it, and comment out the line that starts "set ORACLE_INSTANCE". You'll get a new error dialog when you try to open the tool complaining that the ORACLE_INSTANCE variable is not set, but you can click through it and the tool will work fine.
For the issue of RPD version 318 vs 320, you need to download the 11.1.1.6.2 version of the client, which has been released as a patch (it's really just a full install). It's patch 13794002.

Error Message in BEx Report Designer 7.0

I am getting the following error message when I try to add a data provider (Query) to BEx Report Designer:
RSBOLAP 017 Java Communication Error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist
Would anyone be able to provide feedback on what to do?

Error message in BEx Report Designer

Hello,
I get an error message when I try to add a data provider in Report Designer
It says:
"Error when loading query metadata
Check the query and portal settings"
I can see no reason why my query should not appear in my report.
Has anyone seen a similar thing before?

Hi,
There is a reason for that. RD uses Java BICS service for getting the query meta data. This means that the request has to be processed in Java.
This error appears when Java server is not properly configured. The note 937697 will help you to check and correct the configuration of ABAP - Java connection.
With the note 989525 you can simply check the connection (it will be broken in your system). Points 4 - 7 are describing the check directly in ABAP.

Error Message: EventType : BEX P1 : iTunes.exe --- iTunes Crashes!!

Please help with this seemingly unfixable issue:
When I go to synch my iPod (30 GB/Video), iTunes crashes and shutsdown and I get an error message with this this string:
EventType : BEX P1 : iTunes.exe P2 : 9.2.0.61 P3 : 4c18061b
P4 : iTunes.dll P5 : 9.2.0.61 P6 : 4c1805f8 P7 : 0004be7e
P8 : c0000409 P9 : 00000000
My attempts to fix have been, and none of these worked:
1. Run FULL Virus Scan
2. Run FULL Adaware Scan
3. Run FULL Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Scan
4. Apple Tech Suppor Recommended I uninstall (in this order) iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Service, Bonjour, Application to Apple Support. After this I went in to my Registery and deleted any iTunes/iPod/Apple files. I did the same in Windows Explorer (Application Data and Program Files). I also did a Registery scan (Uniblue Reg. Cleaner Software).
5. Shutting down all programs running.
6. "Restoring" my iPod
When I start to synch my iPod after about 100 songs an (Windows) iTunes Error message pops up and crashes.
Please help if you can and if you actually know how to fix this!

I thought I would hijack the thread since the OP seems to have gone missing, and I'm having the same issue, and have taken the same steps to correct it - to no avail.
Itunes does NOT appear to be crashing at the same song/album. Rather, when I connect my ipod Video, it crashes before it can even begin syncing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Audio configuration error message

after upgrading to 7.3.1, i get an error message that reads "itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration". and, consequently, itunes does not open. i have reset my computer to previous settings and have attempted to remove the update. anyone else having similar problem? everything was fine yesterday...

Since iTunes uses QuickTime to play audio/video content in iTunes, that error message most likely indicates that there's a problem with your Quicktime installation.

Weird Audio Configuration Error Message

When I turn on the computer and start up iTunes, everything works fine. The first time. If I close it and then reopen later, I get an error message that says: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback my not operate properly." Program proceeds to open, but I'm unable to play songs. On the Apple site, it said that an answer to a similar (but not identical) error message was to reinstall QuickTime, which I've done. To no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Error message when clicking link in Email

Hi, for the past day or two I have had a problem with clicking links in emails sent to me - mainly, I think, when confirming that I have signed up to a newsletter or forum, and needing to confirm my email address. This happens in Windows Mail, though I am sure I have been able to do it ok in the past. (I also use Internet Explorer 8 and can activate the links ok if I open the email in BT Yahoo Mail). So guess it is something to do with Windows Mail. The error message just says 'Application Not Found'..... can anyone help me get this sorted please? Thanks in advance!
NOTE: Have found the answer to this elsewhere. For anyone who needs to know, it is: Go to START button, select DEFAULT Programmes > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults. Make sure Microsoft (Windows Mail) is selected.

I randomly started getting this problem and fixed it by doing the following:
# Close both the Firefox and Outlook (2010) programs. Make sure the processes have exited.
# In Control Panel, go to "Default Programs".
# Go to "Set default programs" and set Firefox as default.
# Go back and then to "Set program access and computer defaults" and set Firefox and Outlook as your default browser and email program respectively.
# Restart Firefox and Outlook at the problem should hopefully be fixed.
If this doesn't do the job, then you may want to attempt the registry hack described [http://www.pcworld.com/article/200103/fix_outlook_general_failure_error_for_email_links.html here] here.

Configuration error message....

Greetings!
Recently purchased a refurbished 17" MacBook Pro - complete with 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo. Got all settled in, loaded up Final Cut Pro 4.0, clicked it and got the following message: "Configuration error: This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing".
There is a bullet point with the words "AGP graphics card."
I was under the impression that this computer was good to go out of the box for heavy graphics programs -- Final Cut, Photoshop CS, After Effects, etc.
Did I go wrong? Do I need to put a graphics card in this computer, or is this an error message about which I should be concerned?

As per my opinion, you cant configure messages in PS, similar to other modules like MM where can control whether a message has to be error or info etc.
You may need development to address ur requirmment, may be u can share ur exact req with forum.

Error message in Bex after I make display attribute navigational

Hello,
Regarding 0FIAR_C03. There's a display attribute called "Customer Classification". I made it navigational and re-activated the cube. Thereafter, the existing queries on this cube display the following error message when I try to edit them:
1) Variable 0P_KEYD2 for characteristic Posting Date has been converted to a required entry.
2) Variable 0P_KEYD3 for characteristic Clearing has been converted to a required entry.
Does anyone understand what this means and how I can resolve it?

Yes, I can edit the query after seeing these messages.
I also received an error message within the RSA1 after I turned on the Navigational Attribute, but it seemed like more of a warning than an error message, so I was not concerned....until I ran into this error immediately upon going into Bex.
In my past experiences, I never had an issues after making something navigational, but this seems to be related to that change....
