Connecting T510 to LG 42PG6000

Hi
Can you please lt me know what are my options to connect my laptop to LG tv and watch movies? Appeared that T510 doesn't have either HDMi or S-Video ports...
Thanks in  advance

it has vga and displayport out, so if you want to connect using the hdmi port, you just need to get a simple displayport to hdmi cable converter, like this.
or this

  • T510 can connect to wireless but has no internet connectivity on working wifi's

    Hi,
I have a T510 with an Intel agn wireless card.  On some wifi (always G), it finds the access point. It gets the proper information from the router (proper gateway, dns, ip), but no internet connectivity.  The router is working fine (checked by using other computers)
If you run the lower level intel diagnostic it fails on the ping.
If you look at the ipconfig, everything looks fine.
The sequence is attach to the access point (wep), it say internet connectivity for about 10 seconds then it says no internet access.
No Zone Alarm, No firewall running, No virus protection enabled.

The machine is 2 weeks old.
    thanks,

I have reset my airport this was the second time i was toying with it all last night. I was able to get on the little website for our modem so I disabled that firewall and turned off it's wireless capabilities and a few other odds and ends. And then I redid all of airport. Now though I get an unresolved problem status with "Double NAT" it says and I quote that "This base station has a private IP address on it's ethernet WAN port. It is connected to a divece or network that is using Network Address Translation (NAT) to provide private IP Addresses. You should change your base station from using DHCP and NAT to bridge mode." I ignored it because it seemed to be working last night fine with all of our devices on at the same time. but then again last time I reset it, it worked fine for about 3 days and then went to it's old habits.

  • T510 not connecting to apple 30' display through mini dock

I am having some difficulties connecting my T510 (NVS 3100m) though my thinkpad mini dock plus series 3 (4338). I am using dvi cable.
So far, the only resolution i am capable of is 1280x800.... instead of 2560x1600.
    Any suggestions?
If possible, i would rather not get the display port/ DVI adapter.
    thx

    Go to Solution.

Make sure you are using a dual dvi cable and not an older single version.  You can usually tell by the amount of pins which are missing in the connector
A dual link cable will have all of the pins included, while a single link digital will be missing 2 rows, and an analog only cable will have even fewer.
I would also make sure that the dock supports dual link as well..
WHAT ARE SINGLE AND DUAL LINKS ?
The Digital formats are available in DVI-D Single-Link and Dual-Link as well as DVI-I Single-Link and Dual-Link format connectors. These DVI cables send information using a digital information format called TMDS (transition minimized differential signaling). Single link cables use one TMDS 165Mhz transmitter, while dual links use two. The dual link DVI pins effectively double the power of transmission and provide an increase of speed and signal quality; i.e. a DVI single link 60-Hz LCD can display a resolution of 1920 x 1200, while a DVI dual link can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600.

  • T510 stereo audio connection options?

OK, this may have been asked/answered already, but I am wanting to connect my T510 laptop to my stereo amp preamp out RCA jacks so I can rip my vinyl collection to my computer. The issue is how....the usual way to do this would be to use a 'line in' computer input, which the T510 does not have. I am led to believe that the combi headphone/mic jack will not allow routing a stereo signal to the sound card, IF I AM IN ERROR ABOUT THIS, please advise, as that would solve my problem (twin RCA to 3.5 mini-plug would then work). The other potential options would be using USB, or perhaps the 4 connector firewire port, but I have absolutely no idea whether that would work. If anyone has experience in doing what I need, please help.

It sounds like you have a "ground loop" hum.  This results when the ground plug for two different components in an audio system (your iMac and your stereo, in this case) are probably plugged into two different electrical outlet receptacles in the wall.  A slight voltage difference potential develops on the ground (third lug on the electrical plug) between the ground on the two devices resulting in a 60 Hz hum.  The available soutions consist of "lifting" the ground on either the iMac or the stero by using a two-prong cheater plug adapter, available at an electronics or hardware store, that either the iMac or the stereo is plugged into and then this plug plugged into the wall.  This breaks the "ground loop" and the hum.
The two-prong cheater plug costs about $1.00 US.
An additional thought:  also, more importantly , if you have a "Cable"TV connection to your stereo/TV setup and/or to your computer with the internet signal, THIS is usually another serious ground'loop culprit relative to the ground on your system.  The ground level on the Cable TV network is diiferent than the ground level on the electrical grid in the US. This really results in 60 Hz hum.  The only solution, if this is your case, is to buy a "ground loop Isolation Transformer" (I have to use one on each of my two stereo system - cable TV/computer systems.  This ground loop isolation transformer is priced at about $ $90 US, but will really solve this problem.  The incoming TV/internet Cable is screwed into the little isolation transformer and then that is attached with a length of cable to the stereo or computer.
I know this all sounds complicated, but it is an actual probelm we audio/video-philes face with our complicated electronics and have to fix.
    Hope this helps

  • T510 Wireless connection issue

I've had a T510 with the Centrino Advanced-N 6200AGN wireless for about 6 months now and it's been great. However, several days ago it started to not connect to my home network's wireless.
I've reset the router numerous times and rebooted the laptop to no avail. I've deleted the connection profile and recreated it with no change in behavior. All of my other devices both wireless and wired all work perfectly fine with no issues. I can also connect to other wireless networks with this laptop just fine.
Access connections shows that it is connecting to the router and then just sits at "Waiting for IP configuration" until it fails. Once it fails, if I go to the diagnostic tools to find the detailed error message it shows "Error code 031" with a recommended action of "The DCHP server on this network failed to respond to the request your system made for automatic IP address configuration." Clicking on Repair has no effect.
However, I check my router during these connection attempts/tests and I can watch the laptop show up in the DHCP clients with an IP address so it isn't an issue of connecting to the router. It also disappears from the DHCP clients once I manually disconnect, but at no point does the laptop actually bind an IP address to the wireless device. If I delete the DHCP client entry from the list of DHCP leases, the next connection attempt adds the laptop to the client list correctly but the laptop still does not set an IP address.
Running any of the Windows 7 Professional diagnostics has no effect either, it just says there is a problem with the IP configuration (duh!) and can't fix it.
The driver firmware version for the wireless device is 13.4.0.9 which is the most current listed. The system is also current on all other system updates, both Lenovo and Microsoft.
Does anyone have additional suggestions for troubleshooting/repair? This issue is extremely odd.

Of course as soon as I post something about the issue it starts working.
The only thing different I tried was plugging directly into the router which had the same issue as the wireless where it talked to the router but wouldn't get an IP address set to the device. I restarted the Windows "DHCP Client" service while plugged directly into the router and it magically worked once the service started again.
Looks like it was a Windows issue of some sort.

  • T510 - wired ethernet blocks Internet connection

I'm getting really frustrated with the Lenovo network management system. It seems overly complex and way too slow. In addition, on my home network, the wireless connection always seems to be favoured.
When I plug in my ethernet connection, the system sees it as an unknown connection and promptly drops Internet access (although I can still see my local network). Even if I do manage to fiddle it into working, as soon as I reboot the Internet connection fails again. Doing a network repair does not work. Often, the only way to get Internet access is to unplug the ethernet cable.
I've fiddled around with this for hours. I've played with all of the options, as well as 'include ethernet connection in location change' but to no avail. I just can't get the ethernet connection to work consistently.
This should be dead simple (and is on all my other computers). You just plug the cable in and it works. I'm open to suggestions....

There is a hardware switch on the left of your T510, the one that has green color.

  • Advanced-N 6200 in T510 will not connect 802.11n

I have just received my T510 with the 6200 wireless adaptor.  This adaptor will not connect using wireless-n, only wireless-g.  I am running Windows 7, 64 bit.  Other devices that I have are connecting using wireless-n to the same router.
The driver is the latest (13.3.0.24) and 802.11n mode is shown as "Enabled".   There does not seem to be a choice for wireless-n in the "Wireless Mode" selection list.
Is it possible to get this to work with wireless-n?  If so, any help would be appreciated.

    gws wrote:

This is a well known problem with 802.1n kit, that unfortunately many of the WiFi kit vendors are genrally reluctant to warn users about.
The Intel 6300 WiFi card is fully 802.11n compliant, so it is not the issue.  Basically that means it should (and will) only connect in 802.11n in the 5GHz band WiFi band on its default settings.
It will also generally connect in a "Super-G" like mode (about 130Mbps raw link speed) in the 2.4Ghz band to a router than offers 802.11n connectivity solely on the 2.4GHz WiFi band, but this is not a fully specified mode of operation.
From draft 2 of the 802.11n spec onwards, the use of 40Mhz bonded chanels in the 2.4GHz WiFi band has been strongly discouraged, as it is generally anti-social in areas with a lot of 2.4GHz WiFi networks operating concurrently.
Your other devices may be operating on the now long out of date initial 802.11n spec, which permitted 40Mhz bonded channel operation in the 2.4Ghz WifI band.... before wide-spread practical field use indicated how disasterous it was for many existing 802.11b and 802.11g WiFi users.
Essentially, you need to get a dual band router that supports 802.11n operation in the 5GHz Wi Fi band (which by the way is actually around 5.8GHz).

  • Help with Logitech V470 Bluetooth Mouse connecting to Thinkpad T510

    Hi, Guys
I received my T510 a few days ago. And I originally throught they did not put Bluetooth on my machine.
I called them this morning and got that you have to press FN+F5 to enable Bluetooth.
So, I did that, but stll, I can't get my V470 bluetooth mouse connected to it ?
    Things I have tried:
01 latest software from Logitech website, Windows 7 64 Bit
02 Original driver/software came with the mouse
    They both do not work.
I wonder if there is any one having the same issue, or any Lenovi staff could help you out ?
    Thanks.

  • Bad connectivity with T510 minidock

I've actually been using the dock for quite awhile now; normally it works great, and I have my external monitor attached (1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz, 2 ms response) and it all works great. There's just one problem though -- my USB connectivity seems to be poor. If I push down on the laptop keyboard (where the dock connector joins the laptop) I seem to get the "USB device not recognized" issue, and after this the only thing I can do is restart my computer to regain connectivity.
Does anyone else have issues like this, and if yes, has anyone found a solution to it?

Yes it's a known issue for us as well as a number of others:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T410-docking-station-issue-VGA-external-mon...
20 - 30 systemboard replacements later, Lenovo has still yet to come out and say: "Yes we recognize the problem"
Call Lenovo and push them for a motherboard replacement. We swapped out a number of docks before we found that replacing the motherboard does the trick.
    Good luck!

  • T510 - NVS3100M only connected via PCIe Version 1.1 instead of PCIe2.0 ?

    Hi,
    GPU-Z reports only PCIe 1.1.
Is there any way to activate PCIe 2.0?
    thx

    Hi,
As I know, recent browsets should use http 1.1, have you tried to force the http 1.1 via registry?
    Open registry editor
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click
    OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
    DWORD Value.
Type EnableHTTP1_1, and then press ENTER.
Right-click EnableHTTP1_1, and then click Modify.
Type 1, and then click OK.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
    DWORD Value.
Type ProxyHttp1.1, and then press ENTER.
Right-click ProxyHttp1.1, and then click Modify.
Type 1, and then click OK. click F5 to refresh the registry.
    Exit Registry Editor.
And the link you pasted above (answer.microsoft.com) mentioned that this issue could be related with Blue Coat proxy, as a test, I suggest you set IE to "Automatically detect settings" instead of the proxy, check if it is the culprit.

  • My iphone no longer connects to itunes

My iPhone is no longer recognized by iTunes as it has for over a year.  iTunes and all other software run correctly otherwise.  I've run through all the Apple tips, including reinstalling iTunes, although I didn't delete any files first as Apple suggests.  The iPhone driver shows correct operation in the hardware config file.  I suspect some routine security update is the problem as I do keep my software up-to-date.  I've never had a problem with the iPhone previously, or the connection to iTunes. I'm running out of ideas. The system is a Lenovo T510 Thinkpad in excellent condition, Vista 64 bit os.  Any suggestions would be appreciaed as I'm out of ideas for now.

  • Access Connections issues w L512

    I have a Lenovo L512 - 444CTO, running Windows 7, i5 processor, 4gb ram, 500gb hd
it has the adapter 11b/g/n wireless LAN mini-PCI express Adapter II
both at my home and at my office, both of which have wireless internet, it will log on initially and get good signal and work, but within ~10 minutes of being on the internet, it for no reason stops working.  The Access Connections menu says that it is still connected with strong signal.  But the small "network" icon in the bottom right shows the  yellow-triangle exclamation point, and says "no internet access," despite the fact that all other computers at both the home and office continue to work without interruption.
it is not a problem with the networks, as multiple other computers on the same network in both places work without interruption.
this laptop was purchased because i have online live synchronous classes this spring for my Graduate program, and I need to be able to get online and stay online to participate in them.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.
there is no firewall on either of the wireless providers that I use, and i have checked that the wireless radio is turned on.  the troubleshooting for the network icon tells me it finds nothing it can do.

    Hello mate,
It's possible that you need to deselect the option "Allow the wireless LAN radio to be turned off when inactive" found under Global settings.
Launch Access Connections>Tools>Global Settings. Deselect it and see if that fixes your problem.

I  have a problem with the synchronisation of my iPhone and iPad with Outlook 2007 on my 64-bit Windows 7  PC. For several years,
I have had no problems with the synchronisation by cord connection and iTunes between these programmes. However, a few months ago I decided to use Mobile Me. However, there were problems with duplication of calendars and then “rogue events” – which could not be deleted – even if deleted on Outlook and on the iPhone (or both at the same time) – they would just reappear after the next synchronisation.  All other synchronisation areas (eg Contacts, Notes etc) work fine.
I have looked for help through the Apple Support Community and tried many things.  I have repaired my Outlook. I have repaired my .pst file in Windows. I have re-installed the latest version of iTunes on my PC. I have re-installed the firmware on my iPhone. I have tried many permutations on my iPhone. I have closed down all Mobile Me functions on the iPhone. I have spent upwards of 24 hours trying to solve this problem.
What am I left with? Outlook works seamlessly on my PC. My iPhone calendar now has no events from  my calendar, but does not synchronise through iTunes. Nor does it send events initiated on the iPhone to the Outlook. I am at the point of abandoning iPhones and iPads altogether.  I need to have a properly synchronising calendar on my phone.  Do you have any suggestions?

In the control panel goto the "Lenovo - Power Manager" and click the battery tab, there is a maintenance button in there that will let you change the charging profile for your battery.   (from memory, so exact wording may be off)
The lower the numbers you use there, the longer the battery *should* last.    These batteries degrade faster at higher charge levels, however storing them at too low of levels is also not good for them... I've read that 40% is optimal, but just not realistic if you use your computer.

  • Blue screen of death twice 2 days after receiving T510

    Hi all,
I encounter the dreaded Blue Screen of Death 2 times in two days, with a brand new T510.
The first one came as such a surprise in a meeting that I couldn't catch what it was. The 2nd time happend just now and I decided to post and ask for advice. The error for this time is "bad_pool_header" - not sure what that is.
The 2nd time is not necessarily the same as the 1st time. It seems that the display driver is not very stable. There were various times that, when I open the lid while connecting to an external monitor, the whole image on the external screen flickered vigorously. Windows 7 complain the display driver had crashed and windows has recovered from the error. I suspect the first time Blue Screen may be related to this too.
Anyway, although I like this system a lot, two blue screens in two days after receiving the new machine on Wednesday is pretty frustrating to me. Would Lenovo please iron out some stable and high quality drivers with the Windows 7 "Enhanced" Experience? May be with the parts manufacturer please?
    Thanks all!
    Campion

I would start with installing the latest bios and video driver updates off of lenovo's site.  (do not use the TVSU since that tends to be slower at propigating new updates).  It is new hardware and there is the possiblity of drivers and/or bios being updated since the drive images Lenovo installs from where created.
Of course random BSOD's could also be bad ram.  I would try running MemTest86 on the system and making sure it can successfully pass the tests, and make sure you call customer service and report this so that they know of the issue moving forward.
    Best of luck!

We have HP t510 thin clients connecting to server side XenCenter and running Windows 7 virtual sessions hosted on the server. We are trying to connect a USB lablewriter printer to one of the thin clients. On the t510 device, XEN Connection General Settings Manager/Local Resources/Local Device Redirection is selected for Printers/Printer Mapping. Also on the t510 device under Peripherals/USB Manager, Protocol/All USB is set to Citrix and Devices has the USB printer selected/checked and set to Redirect.
We have also tried within the assigned Windows session, a registry key has been created under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\GenericUSB\Devices, using both a generic redirect for all usb printers as well as device specific using the VID and PID hardware information of the printer.
When we have booted into the Windows session and have installed the USB drivers/printing software and physically conencted the usb printer, it is not being recognized by Windows at all. Device Manager is not showing any unknown devices or anything.
Has anyone seen this same issue? Is there an easy workaround? Will there need to be a hardware policy written in XENCenter?
