Consolidation Status

Hi,
We have an application in HFM (Ver. 9.3) which is completely consolidated. We copied the application using the copy application utility and created a new application.
When we see the consolidation status in new application, the highest level shows "OK". Where as the lower levels shows CN and some show CN ND. Isnt it that all should show only OK as it was copied from an application which was completely consolidated??
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Sathish

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But my understanding is that, when we copy a application which is completely consolidated, the new application is a replica of it including the consolidated data.
Isn't it that one of the logical reasons for copying a app to another one is to save the consolidation time for new app??
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Sathish

  • Report on Consolidated Status

    Hi Guys,
I am looking for a report which can be generated for all the NC in consolidated status for which Request are waiting in PRD buffer and not imported to PRD yet.
    scenario
Whenever we consolidate a NC all the request goes to PRD buffer and waiting for import to PRD status
A background job runs and move the request to PRD.
Request is now implemented in PRD
and even after it is moved to PRD the NC status remain the same Consolidated as earlier.
So we need to differentiate between the ticket that have changes getting moved to PRD and already moved to PRD.
I hope i clarify my requirement.
    Thanks

  • Consolidated status overview for all test plan

    Hi all,
We are performing our Integration test from SolMan. I would like to generate a consolidated report which will give me data same way as the status overview gives for individual test plan.
This will help me to track the progress at the test package level, which inturn is my IT scenario.
Any quick help will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Smita

    Thanks Prabhakar,
I am aware of this, but this gives me details for one test plan.  Even when I use STWB_2, it gives me summary of all the test plans, and for status overview I have to go in each and every test plan.
I am looking for some way out to generate the status overview of multiple test plans together in same screen, for reporting purpose.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

  • SDMJ-Consolidated Status

    Hi Team,
I have configured SDMJ in Sol MAn. I could not able to set the status "Consolidated" in my SDMJ ticket. Which action sets this status in SDMJ? Why do i need to set this status?
I could able to set the status "In-development", I could able to create multiple transport requests.
IF anyone helps me on in which order the actions to be performed for SDMJ in CRMD_ORDER  (like 1. Set-In Developmenwould be greatly appreciated.
Note: I have created the implementation project and activated ChaRM in solar_project_admin.

    Hello,
For the SDMJ, all the TRs created, TRs and also TOC needs to be imported MANUALLY from the task list of the project, there is not any action in the action list of the document for doing that.
So, go to the corresponding M* task list, to the correct system, QUA system initially and make an Execute "import transport request", this execution is triggering the command "tp import all" for qua system, this means that all the TR that are into the QUA import buffer will be imported to qua, I mean all the TR already released.
For the SDHF correction the import is done automatically as you are calling "tp import TR"
In SDN blog: Change Request Management scenario: Working examples Final Points and Appendix
/people/dolores.correa/blog/2009/07/23/change-request-management-scenario-working-examples-final-points-and-appendix  you can see in the Appendiz the avalable action in the action list of a SDMJ and SDHF correction depending on the user status value.
    Hope this helps,

  • Hyperion Enterprise API: consolidation status

    Hi, collegues.
In formulas we need to check if some entity had been already consolidated(passed calculation). Are there functions that in combination would return logical or numeric value of condition like "whether the entity had been consolidated"?
    I appreciate your help.

I found this set of instructions that could help you create your own Status Function, but you really need to know Visual Basic, anyway here it is:
    Dim selectaddrc As Long
    Dim wStatus As Integer

  • Consolidation/Calculation Status not updating

Has anyone experienced this problem: You have made either a metadata or rule change and all of your consolidation status's change to CN. You run "Consolidate All With Data" to get everything caught back up, but the consolidation status stays as CN even though the consolidation completed. Any ideas on what would cause this? Possible data corruption? The data appears to be correct it is just the status that is not updating.

I have seen this issue on my end a lot. This usually happens with us when a section (Entity or Account) is locked. The consolidation runs but the status does not change because it is not allowing for all the children to roll up to the parents. Check to see if one of your Entity is locked.

  • FDM Consolidations are Inconsistent

Oracle Support is saying this is not supported since it's related to metadata setup between FDM and HFM.
We have a staging and testing environment and there appears to be a difference in terms of when Force Calculation or Consolidation is triggered.
Example: There are two hierachies COAL_V and N001_V base parent. Both of them are set up as the validation entity for two different locations in FDM.
IN the staging environment, when exporting data for a base entity (that belongs to COAL_V) but with N001_V as the POV in FDM , the check report will give an error. The cell staus in HFM for the base entity is CH and for N001_V is CN ND.
In the test environment, when following the same steps and load the same file, no error with in the check report. The cell status for the base entity is OK and for N001_V is OK.
Any ideas why we're getting different results in consolidations status and error in check report in FDM?

You can re-register the applications with Shared Services using the FDM user Migration Utility:
    a) Choose Start > Programs > Oracel EPM System > Financial Data Quality Management > Workbench > User Migration
    b) Login to the application as "admin"
    c) At the top of the screen choose the FDM application group from the drop down and check at least one user and click "Provision"
This process should re-register the app in the FDM application Group you specify.

  • View USD Entity in local currency in Workspace

How can I view a USD entity in local currency. I have a USD parent entity, that has 3 base child entities (MXN). Data is loaded to the base entities in MXN and translates to USD. I tried setting my POV to the parent (USD) entity and my Value member to MXN, but the parent entity shows 0. Any help would be appreciated.

So you want to see the parent entity (which is USD by default) in MXN? You'll have to manually run a translate. If you change the grid you described to show consolidation status rather than data, you should see a "TR" for Translation Needed. HFM only translates to parent currency during the consolidation, and I'm guessing the parent of this parent is also USD.
If you want to translate to MXN during the consolidation, one option would be to create an alternate hierarchy with an MXN parent and consolidate it.

  • ChaRM Report of Corrections With Errors

We are having an issue when the Maint Cycle phase is Go-Live, if a tester performs successful testing on a Normal Correction, the status is changed to Consolidated; however, the Normal Correction gets the error "Action Cannot be Performed During this Maintenance Cycle".  The Transport is not released; however, since the status was set to Consolidated, the tester may not realize that there is an error.  If the Tester does not notify the Developer, the Correction appears on a report that lists all Corrections in Consolidated status that will be moved to production when the phase is Go-Live.  Is there a way to run a report  to show all Corrections with Errors?

    Hello Karen,
Currently this functionality is not possible in Solutioin Manager without customizing.
As an idea, why don't you open a Expert on Demand message with SAP, and request an expert to help you in this customizing?
    Hope this information was helpful.

  • Question on normal maintenance cycle in 4.0

    Hi
We have a maintenance cycle for normal corrections. Due to missed authorizations, when our testers changed the status of the change request after successful testing, the status is changed to 'consolidated', but the transport requests were not released. When we manually released the transports from SCMA task list, system released all the open transport requests, whose tasks are released. This has caused the issue of these transports being added to the production buffer. So now we have the released transport requests for requests that are at the consolidated status and for requests whose status in less than the consolidated status, i,e. to be tested, in development. If the status of the MC is changed to 'Go-Live' and when the production import job is scheduled, is it going to move all the transports in the production buffer or only those transports that have the corresponding change request status is 'Consolidated'? Thanks in advance.

I believe that in later Service Packs of SolMan 4.0 the "Export transport request" and "Return to development" actions described in note 910506 are not part of the standard workflows so some of these problems should not exist.  SolMan uses Transport of Copies functionality when the developer performs the Complete Development action.  These "copy" transports only get imported into the QA system and not into production.  When the tester performs "Confirm Successful Test", the transport is actually released.
Now if for some reason the tester made a mistake when "Confirming", the correct action would likely be to do an Urgent correction to repair the problem or undo the change.

  • Historical Reporting of data under multiple hierarchy changes

We currently use Hyperion Planning and we change our entity hierarchy often. It is my understanding that in order to report on what the hierarchy "used" to look like versus the current hierarchy requires alternate hierarchies that represent those different points in time. Today we just report all data based on the new hierarchy. However, we are looking at some additional requirements where this could become an issue. Due to the likely significant changes in the hierarchy, we would not want to maintain different hierarchies for all of these changes.
My question is first, is this a correct understanding for Hyperion Planning?
I did see a power point someone posted online that did show that HFM was able to handle this type of requirement, is that correct? Are we able to add an attribute or rule that combines some type of date tag to when the child was under parent A versus when they rolled under parent B. I have looked through the HFM admin guide and users guide online, but didn't see anything that addressed this specific issue. I watched a few tutorials online as well and didn't see anything that seemed to answer my question.
    Thanks.

    Hi user10086086,
It is true that in order to maintain historical rollups in Hyperion Planning you have to maintain historical heirarchies or become cleaver at storing historical heirarchies for purposes of reproting back to past methods of reporting.
HFM does have the capability to store alternate entity hierarchies from one period to the next - when Organization by Period is enabled within HFM...
The most common entity restructuring is as follows (This is not to say the only type - there are many other types):
Using the Manage Ownersip module within HFM
    • An entity is set to be inactive under it's first parent, the balances are frozen for that period (under the first parent), the entity is “recreated” with same name (under a new parent) and “new” balances will be loaded under the new parent for the next and all subsequent periods
By using the same entity with the OrgByPeriod feature within HFM and setting dates for its association with a particular parent with the 'Manage Ownership module' it becomes possible to have alternate entity heirarchies for different periods.
In order to advise on the most appropriate approach it would be necessary to confirm some key points on the requirement; such as, consolidation and translation methods used. Are the rules written to effectively handle opening, closing, movements in an OrgbyPeriod structure? Are there specialized rules/calcs in place that would affect the use of the OrgbyPeriod option? ..etc.
To get an overview of the feature please checkout Oracle Hyperion Financial Management - Administrator's Guide at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hfm_admin.pdf
The following is and excerpt from the guide:
    Chapter 4 Managing Metadata
Organization by Period - page 86
The organization by period functionality enables the most recent consolidation structure to coexist with past structures in the same application.
Organizational structures can change for many reasons, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and reorganizations. To support organizational changes, Financial Management uses a system account, Active, to reflect the active or inactive consolidation status of a child into its parent. The Active account acts as a filter of the entity hierarchy. The Active account is an intercompany account that stores data at the parent level and uses the ICP dimension to store information about children.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions regarding this post

    Hi,
It is sure some where in transferrules the mapping wasdone wrongly , like char --char of info object but in ur case some where data element is not same for field and info object.
check throughly transfer rules correctly field level and infoobject mapping  and activate.
it is some where currency and unit fields the difference is there for data elements

  • HFM Copy App vs Migrating

Can anyone tell me the difference in the copy app vs migrating.
My questions are if you do a copy app do you still have to do a consolidate after you copy? Does all meta data get copied over ?
Do you still need to sync apps ? etc..
Our current process in which we migrate from one enviornement to another, then consolidate etc.. takes days to complete. If we could just perform a copy app, this might save us days of the system being down.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

By migrating, I assume you mean exporting / importing data between applications?
The app copy utility is a data level tool that essentially copies the database tables to the new application. All metadata, data, journals, rules, forms, grids, etc., copy over. I do not believe consolidation status changes as it would when you are importing fresh data, etc.
NOTE: The newer versions of the copy app tool do give you some additional controls over how/what is copied. For instance you can copy only specific scenarios / years, etc. This is handy if you have a specific item you want to test in a new app as you don't have to copy all data to another app.
The tool is pretty simple to use; however, always double check to Database / App information before starting to make sure you specified the source / destination correctly! :-)
After the app copies, you will need to register the app, and then I generally clone the provisioning from the production app to the new app through Shared Services.

I added a new dependant entity and went into the formula module to check methods/logic. All checks were complete and now when I try to consolidate -- the consolidation is still impacted and the logic icons won't disappear and the calc status remains.
I'm not sure why it won't let me consolidate. I'm running on Hyperion Enterprise 6.3.1.
