How to run the mrp run for various materials which belong diiferent stroage locations with the plant.Pl five me transaction.
Eg.
If i have 100items which kept in various storage locations with the plant.But i have to run for mrp for that 100items.

Easy solution is define the same MRP controller for all those 100 items in material master.
Than activate the user exit M61X0001 using CMOD and SMOD (take help of developer if you need)
in this user exit enter the code in function module EXIT_SAPMM61X_001
select materials for one MRP controller (specified in user_par)
WHEN '005'.
UXPAR = USER_PAR.
CONDENSE UXPAR.
WRITE UXPAR+0(3) TO DISPO.
IF DISPO IS INITIAL.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
IF MT61D-DISPO <> DISPO.
NO_PLANNING = 'X'.
ENDIF.
Than activate the user exit
now in the tcode OMIX enter the 005 in user exit field and description is MRP controller
now run the MD01 with plant and in the user exit key enter 005 and in parameter field enter your MRP controller now execute the transaciton adn it will only run for those material which has mrpp controller you defined here.
This is the best solution for this kind of requirements

Hi,
We are running consumption based MRP using MRP Type as VB. We run consumption based MRP daily. In this, when ever there is change in stock level due to consumption, the system reschedules the old schedules also. We don't want to disturb the old schedules generated by MRP as we confirm the vendors as a Firm Schedule.
Can you please guide me on how i can run consumption based MRP daily and not tamper old schedules.

SAP recommends working with scheduling agreements with release documentation.
Use a document type for scheduling agreements with release documentation. In the standard system, document type LPA is supplied for this purpose. (In the standard system, the Release docu. indicator is selected for document type LPA in Customizing for Purchasing under Scheduling Agreement à Define Document Types.)
It is sensible to carry out the planning run daily and generate releases (delivery schedules) automatically once a week, for example. You can set up the system in such a way that releases are generated for changed scheduling agreement items (materials) only.

Scheduling agreement releases provide information to vendors regarding the quantities of a material that are to be delivered and the desired delivery dates. A scheduling agreement release enables you to record the current status of the lines of a delivery schedule stored in the system for a scheduling agreement item and then transmit this status to the vendor.
Are you using release SA release?
It seems this is the solution for your problem

Hi Friends,
There is one issue reg. Project Based MRP Run as below :
We are running MRP through MD51 (Project based MRP run). For this we are assigning FG material code under respective WBS Element which generates Network reservation with movement type 281Q which is base of MRP run in MD51. After MRP run we get planned order generation and then convert it to Production order and execute Production Order to receive Project Stock after GR.
After receiving Project stock and then selling it through Post Goods Issue through SD cycle, project stock is consumed but network reservation is not getting closed which results in again generation of planned order if MRP is run again.
I need your valuable inputs if we are missing any configuration setting which can set Final issue indicator in reservation while Posting Goods Issue (PGI) in SD because FI indicator checking will only ensure reservation doesnu2019t take part in planning again.

dear sap gurus,
my user want to activate mrp run to only 1 plant (let's say plant A).
But he also want that all reservation in the other plant (plant B which not activate for MRP run) also being calculate for consumption in mrp run for plant A.
These reservation is a request for a material from plant B to plant A
Please, suggest me how to solve this problem.

Usage of MRP Procedures in Consumption Based Planning during Implementation
We have following procedures in CBP:
1. Reorder Point Planning- Manual and Automatic
2. Forecast based Planning
3. Time phased Planning.
In SAP implementations, which of these procedure is mostly used in companies in real time.
Though the CBP planning node is in MM SPRO and MM study material also contains CBP. During implementations, for CBP the responsibility rests with MM consultant or PP Consultant or both.

Let me share my views on this as we are runing CBP-Forcast base planning in our trading business .
Decision on CBP-Forecast base planning method are based on the following criteria
1.Stockable and low value material
2.Fast Moving with good sales pattern ( Trend Analysis , Historical Trend analysis on Product Group , Statistical Sales analysis )
3.Inventory turn around based on the monthly physical inventory and sales
4.Good service level percentage over an period .
5.Consumption pattern .
Decision on CBP-Re-order point planning method are based on the following criteria
1. Material which are higher valu and Non Stockable
2. Customer oriented traded goods
3. Strategic vendor with good Sales pattern .
4.Re-order Level based on Sales Forecast (Manual or Automatic )
In SAP implementations, which of these procedure is mostly used in companies in real time : It is based on the business requirement (Trading /Manufacturing ) .Mostly Trading business goes for CBP-Forecast Base planning method (MRP Type -VV) IF THE MATERIALS HAS GOOD CONSUMPTION PATTERN OVER A PERIOD OF TIME .
MRP is both the part of Supply Chain Planning and Manufactruing . Material master parameters are maintained by MM .CBP is one kind of MRP where Demand Management comes into PP whereas after MRP run , procurement proposal handeled by MM.So there is no hard and fast rule that it is only part of PP.It is the combination of MM and PP.

Dear all,
I know there is a two way to run Consumption-Based Planning in standard SAP:
1 - Forecast-based Planning, and
2 - Re-order point Planning.
My question is what is the configuration setup and material master value maintenance require for the above two procedures?

Dear Experts
My client is a battery manufacturing company, its Semi Finished product is Make-to-Stock and Finished Product is Make-to-Order. Initially the MRP was configured as reorder based and in Material master it was set as VM (Automatic reorder point plng ). But now we need to change the MRP form reorder point to Forecast Based. The rolling forecast of the coming 3 three months is given in Planned Independent requirement (MD61) as version u201800u2019 - REQUIREMENTS PLAN.
We have changed the MRP procedure in Material Master form VM to VV Forecast-based planning of the finished product but unable to get any result means no Automatic PR is getting generated, the we have changed all the materialsu2019 MRP procedure of that Particular BOM to have the required MRP and Automatic PR raise but still no expected result is coming.
I would request you to provide your expert opinion to execute the Forecast Based MRP, what else should I do achieve the Linking between the Rolling Forecast and MRP instead of Reorder point. Should I have to make changes in Material Master (Only on finished product, In house developed/manufactured Product, Raw material etc), any configuration change in MPR and PR . Looking forward for your specialist advice.

SonyI have provided the demand in MD61 and make stock level of the material in such a way that it should raise the PR for MRP run but it is not generating any PR. have checked that if I put value in the forecast tab of the material master manually then it is raising the PR but I need the system to pick the value form the demand that I provided in MD61. Is there any configuration related issue to get the values form the demand and generate PR accordingly. Please guide

AFS MRP Run based on Category (Quality Grade-A, Quality Grade-B Etc.)

We have a requirement in AFS MRP Run.
MRP should suggest the replinsment quantities for the higher quality material when there is a deviation in quality.
E.g:
The Customer requirement is 100PC of Quality Grade-A.
But after quality chack, produced quanities are of Quality Grade-A : 90PC and Quality Grade-B : 10 PC.
How to replenish the shortage quanity of Quality Grade-A:10PC.
As the Customer will not accept the Quality Grade-B Product.
Our GR is for 90+10 PC against the Order, there is no scrap also.
How to map this requirement in AFS.
MRP should suggest the replinishment quantities as per the category.
This is a critical issue for us now. Suggestions will be rewarded.

First of all don't show your reward gimmick to get a solutions. As you are aware, we are not here to get a reward / bonus points. We are here to support and help SAP Community.
This scenario can't be mapped directly in Std. SAP R/3 System with best of my knowledge.
Please note that Quality scoring / Grading will come after Goods Receipt in SAP System.
If you want to take care at the time of MRP run, then you have to create separate material / article master codes with your desired characteristics.
Based on your MRP type, system will create demand, I mean Purchase Requisition. This demand you can convert into PO for both Quality Grades.
Based on your usage decision, you can accept desired material Grade and other Grade you can Reject and sent to Vendor.
If you have accepted in first place then if you want to Return back (inferior grade material) then you can use Return PO.

Can you use MRP Controller instead MRP Group. Because you have option to view MRP result by MRP Controller in MD05.
And you can execute MRP based on MRP Contoller by using user exit M61X0001 in MD01.

Issue with Consumption based Planning( MRP )
Hello Experts,
I have a requirement in my client to run CBP for Spares.
There is no issue till MRP run.
Background
MRP runs every night for Plant and new proposals in the form of PR are generated as per requirements.
After MRP run user wants to puts in Cost centre through MD06 in respective PRs generated .
The requirement is as follows
1) In MD06 the user wants to list only those items for which freshly created PRs last night are there.He will put in Cost centre one by one and mark the processing indicator.
2) Next day again MRP runs for the same materials and new PRs might not have generated but the material line item still appears on MD06 list for processing . This is unnecessary and should be avoided .
or
3) If we get a indicator suggesting for these PR costcentre has been put and for these Costcentre has to be put.
Please let me know if we can use the input parameters or exception msgs/lights or find function to my advantage.

AnupJust make sure that you firm all those that you add CC (it should be automatic). Then system will not change them next run, and you can ask to see only not firmed (firmed already have CC).

How to make MRP run based on Target Safety stock
Dear Experts,
For our MRP-planned materials with safety stock we would like MRP run to take into account target stock level defined for each month.
for example: we know the target stock level values will be for M1 = 1000, M2 = 0, M+3 = 5000 etc.
MRP should then propose orders to replenish up to the target stock level at the end of each month:
needs for current month = (target stock level defined for current month minus safety stock)
needs for M1 = (target stock level defined M1 minus safety stock)
needs for M2 = (target stock level defined for M2 minus safety stock)
etc
Do you know if there is any simple way to achieve this?

in my company, we are facing exactly the same issue, we would like the MRP to consider a target stock exaclty as described by Elynn. To be more clear, if we could reproduce the TDSS like in SNP in MRP, we'll be happy !.
We imagine already to manage the target stock level in APO DP and released into ECC6 as a different MRP element than Forecast. this target stock should not be considered as forecast neither consumed by any sales order. Only to force the MRP to generate planned orders to increase the final stock when needed. This is only an idea, we have nothing tested yet.
someone have an idea if there's a standard solution for make this ? I mean, why this fonctionality exist in SNP but not in MRP?

I Have a Scenario,
I need to Bulit a Laptop which is a Finished Material, and the Components like Hardisk, Processor, Ram, Casing, Monitor are my Rawmaterials. By using these rawmaterials we are building the parent material.
My Client requirement is 1) Plan and schedule the requirement
2) Replenish the stock based on consumption based planning.
My query is
1) How should i proceed for mm based procurement ?
2) Does i need to create scheduling agreement for rawmaterials and and maintain schedule lines ?
3) For which materials i need to run the MRP ? weather its parent material or Component material ?
4) What are the sequence of process need to be carried out ?

Consumption based planning and Scheduling agreement are two different functions.
Consumption-based planning is based on past consumption values and uses the forecast or other statistical procedures to determine future requirements. The procedures in consumption-based planning do not refer to the master production schedule. That is, the net requirements calculation is not triggered either by planned independent requirements or dependent requirement. Instead, it is triggered when stock levels fall below a predefined reorder point or by forecast requirements calculated using past consumption values.
A form of outline purchase agreement under which materials are procured on predetermined dates within a certain time period.
With release documentation (in the standard system, document type LPA)
The schedule lines in the system have internal character. This means that you can change them in any way you wish. The schedule lines stored in the system are not transmitted to the vendor until you explicitly create a scheduling agreement release (which may take one of two forms: a forecast delivery schedule or a JIT delivery schedule).
The release documentation allows you to display the releases transmitted to a vendor over a certain period in order to establish exactly when you transmitted which information to the vendor.
Without release documentation (in the standard system, document type LP)
The schedule lines immediately have official character, i.e. they are immediately transmitted to the vendor the moment you save them (transmission time-spot 4 for messages). There is no release documentation in this case.

Help required -for MRP Run at storage location level
Hi ,
we need to have separate MRP fro two storage locations with direct procurement from Storage locations. Right now we have MRP run at Plant level for all the storage locations. we donot want the materials in these two storage locations to be planned at Plant level only with Separate storage locations. Plant level MRP will run for the other storage locations .
I have created separate MRP areas for the storage locations & activated MRP for MRP Areas client level. material masters for the two storage locations have been asigned the MRP areas & maintained the MRP area data in material master .
When we run the MD01, the Planned orders are getting created at both MRP areas plus at the Plant level.we donot want the planned orders creation at Plant MRP area level-only at the storage location level for those two storage locations MRP areas.
Can anybody guide me -how to achieve that ? Did we miss any configuration?
I tried to maintain scope of planning & getting error for parallel processing .
Do i need to maintain parallel procesing with servers ?
Pls need your input on this. Any help will be highly appreciated .

Go to IMG settings 'Materials Management + Consumption-Based Planning + Planning + Define Storage Location MRP per Plant' Enter your Plant, It will show list of storage location in that Plant, then select 2 in 'MRP Indicator' field for storage location for which u want to plan seperately.
