Contract Up in 5 Days. Good-bye, Good Riddance

So tired of Verizon. Is it any wonder these forums are filled with unhappy customers? I've been dredging along for two long years with a defective phone that barely works. The display doesn't work, the buttons are mislabeled, the Bluetooth doesn't work, the voice dialing is awful.. And I take good care of my things, they aren't abused. The phone is just crap and it's supposed to be military spec?
But this would not be so bad if Verizon were willing to just sell me a replacement for a reasonable price. After numerous calls in the two years I've been a customer, they would sometimes tell me I'm eligible for an upgrade, but they want me to add another two-year contract just to get a new phone. And then, on top of that, they want to charge me $300 for a new one. That's crap. They charge way too much for service as it is. I pay $50 a month, have no data, no texting, and only 400 minutes. I can get a phone with no-contract carriers and pay half that a month, or for $50, get unlimited text, data, and minutes. And that's exactly what I plan to do in five days.
I can go to my local supermarket and buy basic phones with NO CONTRACT for $8. I get buy SmartPhones for $20. Why do I want to pay $300 and have a 2-year contract from Verizon for a basic phone? And to top it off, the online chat representative was very rude. When I asked a question and would have to wait untold minutes for a response, at which time I might tab over to another website, I'd come back and they would close the chat, just because I didn't respond quickly to them. Sure, your time is WAY more valuable than your customer's.
Go to T-Mobile. You can get a $450 SmartPhone and pay nothing up front, have no contracts, and pay $17 a month for the phone.
Verizon, you just lost ANOTHER customer, but I'm sure you don't care. Keep up that attitude. See how long you last.

Nothing wrong with "performance" of the phone. It actually gets good signal. The display not working is a quality issue, so is the mislabeling of the buttons. Verizon never offered me another plan other than signing up for another two years, something they said would be necessary in order to get a new phone.
And I do use my phone, but unlike some people, I actually use it for a phone, not a video game, music player, GPS, remote control, or Internet browser, all of which there's better dedicated devices for. I just want to talk to people on my phone. Crazy me.

  • Good bye and good riddance Verizon

    Dear Verizon Wireless,
I have been having a MAJOR issue with your billing dept. No one seems to be able to help me. I have had at least 6 contacts with them and each time, I have been given a different answer, and quite frankly, I am fed up.
On March 30th I paid my Verizon bill online through my bank. The bill was $131.50, but unfortunately, I hit an extra 1 and mistakenly paid $1,131.50. I caught this mistake the next day, when I saw it pending. I immediately called Verizon, apologized, and told them what I had done. I was told it would take approx 24 hours and they would deposit the money back into my checking acct, and the rep even took my routing and acct. number.. I realize this was my mistake, and apologized profusely to each and every person I spoke with. I cannot believe that this is the first time a customer has made this mistake however.
After 2 days went by, I called again, and was told, 48-72 hours. After that went by, I called and was told 5-7 days. After the eighth day, I called again. I was told that Verizon would have to review it, and if it was approved, I would be sent a check after 2 billing cycles. By this time, I was frustrated, and I said, "This is ********". I regret saying that, because I was immediately disconnected. The next day, after I had calmed down, I called back and was told it was denied.
I made 2 more calls, the first of which, I was told they would resubmit it for another review. Yesterday, I called and was told that the money had indeed been deposited back into my acct. but now, my bill was in danger of being late, so I would need to pay it immediately. No problem, I paid it right then over the phone. Today, I have checked my acct. and there is no deposit from Verizon, however the money for the bill, (that I do not owe because I have a huge credit due to the extra $1000 you have) is pending to be paid.
Now, you tell me, what am I to make of this? I have been a long time customer with Verizon. It is the only service I have ever used, since cellphones first became a staple. It is becoming apparent that Verizon does not care about helping me solve this problem, and is only concerned with shuffling me around from rep to rep, instead of giving me a straight answer.
I realize that Verizon holds all the power and cards, but the one thing I can do, and which I WILL do, is to switch to AT+T when my credit is used up. And, I will contact PUCO, and the FTC about the fraud that was perpetrated against me, regarding the extra payment the rep told me I needed to make. I am furious about this, and will tell everyone who will listen about how Verizon treats their customers. The extra $1000, and the $131.50 that your rep scammed out of me yesterday is THE LAST MONEY you will ever get from me,  any member of my family, and anyone I can convince through social media and word of mouth to drop your service.
This has been a sorry state of affairs. And I repeat... This is ********.

Wow....I sympathize with you. If I paid $1000 extra one month there would be a bunch of other bills left unpaid and slim pickings in the pantry! Did you ask if your bank could reverse the payment? Depending on when this happened,  it may be too late to do it that way, but it's worth a try. Aside from that, there is no way I would wait for the credit to be used up, I would become the most annoying customer on the planet until I had a check in my hand.
This isn't fraud, but Verizon is holding funds for services not yet rendered. Regardless of the reason for the mistake (because we all make mistakes), you alerted Verizon and they haven't acted to correct it. The fact that you did have to pay this month's bill suggests a refund may be forthcoming, since it seems that balance is being held for some reason and not being applied to the bill. I hope you are successful in getting your money refunded! Although you will eventually get it back by not having a Verizon bill for a while, a refund would probably go a long way in repairing your opinion of Verizon. ☺

  • Awful, terrible, good riddance Verizon

Goodbye Verizon Wireless, I'll NEVER come back.   Last month, I bought a new phone, activated it on a new carrier, which canceled my service with Verizon Wireless. My contract was up in less than a month. So what does Verizon do? They charged me $140 early termination fee, for cancelling 3 weeks before my contract was up. I expected an early termination fee, but $140 for less than a month? Bad call, corporate postpaid greed. Like I told the customer service guy when I called "This is exactly why I left Verizon, the reason you regularly have the lowest customer service rating in the country year in and year out, and why a lot of people I know intend to leave you after their contract is up. Your practices are awful, your customer service is awful, and I'll use two tin cans connected with a string before I ever come back to your awful company."  I had already decided to leave Verizon due to its blundering of timely updates (I had a Galaxy Nexus, Nexus devices are supposed to get updates first, and fast.  My CDMA Nexus was routinely the LAST variant of the phone to receive updates), blocking of Google Wallet (simply to cut out competition for ISIS), and increasing rates.  I also wasn't happy that in order to upgrade my phone, I would lose my unlimited data, or I could buy a phone for full retail, activate it on Verizon network, and retain my unlimited data.  BUT, if I bought my own phone for full retail, I would have still had to pay for the hidden subsidized charges in my bill, and not receive a reduced bill even though I didn't get a subsidized phone through Verizon.  So I bought a Nexus 5.  There is a reason Google didn't release a CDMA variant Nexus 5.  It had nothing to do with the CDMA technology, but because of Verizon's continuous update blunders, blocking of Google apps, and insistence of installing their junk bloatware on phones.  For the past year, I have advised friends and co-workers to stay away from Verizon when shopping for a carrier, and I will definitely do my best to shy people towards ANY other company when I can.

Wholeheartedly agree with all you've posted. Unfortunately I'm stuck with them for another year, then I'm going to jailbreak my iPhone and take it to another carrier. I have awful coverage here at my new home in Florida and literally the only place I can make a call and not have it drop or the voice drop out is in the Master bedroom - and even that's not too good. Can you hear me now, VZW? I live 4 blocks from US 19 here in west Florida and cannot make a phone call with any degree of confidence that I'll be able to hold an intelligible conversation
The final straw is this new "Family Plan" that I'm forced to use when I only have my phone on the account. The same plan can be had from T-Mobile for $20 less per month. It was only $10 more until I opened my bill this month and discovered the data rate hike that we weren't notified about. Oh, yeah, and the usual fees, taxes, etc. that are never fully explained, and can't be.
There is another experience I had with VZW that I could write about, but it's too long to bother. Customer service is a total joke, and VZW doesn't care a whit.
Worst company I've ever dealt with, and that's the truth.

  • Goodbye and good riddance

Hi all i was going to post this as a reply but thought it might be worth discussion (or is alcohol and sleep depravation clouding my judgement)
    <Rant>
pmarriott (a few posts down), GOODBYE, be sure to delete your account and stop posting here as you are going away for good. I agree the handset is faulty and nokia should be doing more to fix the problem, (the release of the n900 is a smack in the face for n97 users) But to declare that you are leaving (as is many are) is getting a little tiring.
All of you, GO and leave us to complain here (or constructively ask for help) This is a user to user HELP forum, if you are leaving, by all means go, but dont start new threads telling us all about it. Of course in your post you raised some valid points about faulty handsets and that other manufacturers "have what YOU need". Just don't waste our time,
So thanks for all your input from your 36 or so posts i am sure some of it was useful, as you are leaving us you shouldn't need to post anymore.
Oh and if by happenstance the n98 or n1000 is an awesome phone which beats all others, (we live in hope) we here will be sure to not see you buying one as you will NEVER buy another nokia handset.
Have fun with your fruitphone or blackberry (wait another fruit) or HTC and be sure to post the same vehement response if they ever release a (gasp) less than acceptable handset.
    </rant>
Sorry to all other users but i am tired AND i am fed up with all the people on here vowing to never buy another nokia. I am all for freedom of speech and all that, but once they have vented, they should remove their accounts and go as they will never be returning. Unfortunately they poison the forums with their unhelpful drivel about how life is so much better with handset x from brand Y. I agree that the n97 isn't the best flagship nokia could have released and hopefully they actually never release a phone like the n97 again BUT the feel of the forums is lost when all we hear is whining!
Isn't the whole point of the "contact us" button, to inform nokia of problems (and yest after getting millions of emails nokia might not reply in 5 minutes....) not people creating threads venting on the very people who here do an awesome job of helping people out,
So to sum up, if you are leaving GO! and never come back as you have promised and leave us to get on with helping each other out on a "user to user" forum.
To everyone helpful here, THANKYOU! you do a great job!
P.S. I agree I am a hypocrite by starting a useless thread with rants in it, but i think it does need to be discussed.

Solution to this, BUY AN IPHONE
As i posted in the nokia obituary thread, i want it everywhere so everyone knows how much of a piece of **bleep** the phone is
I sadly was one of the foolish Who purchased an N97 at great expense, struggled with it for months on end, problem after problem. This was far from my first nokia I've had nokias ONLY since the mid to late 90's as they were the leaders. Key word WERE.
As I simply couldn't deal with the problems with the phone preventing me from doing simple tasks like making or receiving calls etc + the various other failings the N97 had + the time (days, weeks? Who knows) spent formatting, reloading, resetting and just trying to get the thing to work just crushed me.
Some say the N97 was released to early? Well to you I say it was far to late, if it was released "later" when it was more "ready" it would have been scrapped as there is no way it could even be thought it could compete with other handsets that will be on the market in say the next 6 months. Nokia were just not ready, the phone was not ready, they were behind the 8 ball and knew it, but instead decided to release a substandard product to burn all those loyal customers out there.
My solution ? Ebay, I sold the N97 at a great loss after the great expense of purchasing a "Flagship" phone 6 months prior.
What did I get you ask? Well I got an iphone of course.
Well that's a rubbish phone I hear you all say?! And the N97 "technically" with all its apparent and "advertised" features (never seen in the flesh & working) run rings around the N97 .. Sure you are right in theory. But you want to hear the crazy part?
IT WORKS, I bought it, activated it, imported my address book & contacts, made a few settings changes, got a few apps (I even paid for them, something id never do with the OVI store) I have EVERYTHING I want working fine without problem.
I then JB'd the phone to get it a little more "custom" to the way I want it.
That's it, its been a few weeks now with this thing and I haven't had to format it, restore it, hard reset, spend hours of my days trying to get it to work, wondering why I haven't got calls or sms's that are expected to find that its locked up (N97)
None of these things, like most people these days I don't have the time nor care for a product that wont be fixed to be all that it was promised it was, I don't have the time to waste trying to get it to work.
In short I no longer have time for nokia as they haven't got time for me.
As a "turning point" as such I also got rid of the Mrs. nokia phone (N95) and got her an iphone as I wish to not support nokia in any way.
And even more amusing when I "terminated" my OVI account a couple of weeks back I thought that would be the end of it, it said this will close all your nokia accounts Inc your discussions profile, but no even the OVI TERMINATE FUNCTION DOESNT WORK!!!! I STILL GET EMAIL UPDATES FROM NOKIA WITH NO WAY TO UNSUBSCRIBE !!!!! - Can't log in as my user details don't work to change subscription settings, and there is no OFF setting for subscriptions either.

  • Good Riddance Verizon

When my wife got us involved with Verizon through a bundle with Direct TV, I told her how Verizon was the worst company that I have ever had to deal with professionally, but she had already locked us into a contract.  Years of terrible service, internet speeds that are unusable for large chunks of every day, throttling and God knows what else have led me to finally being rid of this company.  The final straw was having a "technician" come out a month ago to tell me the problem was "Internal wiring", claim to fix it, charge me and then having the service go back to unusable within a few weeks.
Verizon has never delivered the speeds that I am paying for.

    1: Verizon doesn't throttle
2: What speeds DO you pay for?
3: What do you actually receive according to http://testmy.net/ ? I recommend testing in both the morning and the evening hours
4: What modem do you have?
If the Internet has anything to say about it, Comcast and Time Warner are rated lower than Verizon is. Unless you're in a Cablevision, Charter, Brighthouse/TW South, or Armstrong area then that I wouldn't know off hand how they stack.

  • Need help: Cancelling Wirefly contract within first 14 days

    Ok so here's the story:
My Family plan 2 yr contract with Verizon was going to end on May, 28 2011.  However, I was eligible for a NE2 upgrade.  I decided to get the HTC Thunderbolt, and WIREFLY.com had a special price.  So, I decided to enter into a new 2 year agreement with them in order to qualify for the HTC Thunderbolt pricing.  It's been 7 days since I activated my contract with wirefly.  I've decided not to keep the Thunderbolt and get the iPhone instead.
My question is, can I cancel my contract with wirefly without incurring an ETF with Verizon?  And by cancelling with wirefly, will my numbers be ported back to Verizon?
Basically, to keep it simple, I want to undo everything I did with wirefly...biggest mistake I've ever made with purchasing mobile phones.
I would totally stick with them IF they offered the iPhone, but unfortunately they do not.  The Android phone isn't what I had expected it to be.  So I hope I can undo what I did.
Please help, any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

My question is, can I cancel my contract with wirefly without incurring an ETF with Verizon? When you made your purchase through Wirefly, you signed TWO contracts, one with Verizon for two years of service, and one with Wirefly, agreeing to maintain your service at the level you purchased for 6 months.  If you are within your 14 day return period, you will not owe an ETF to Verizon, but you MAY owe an ETF to Wirefly.  You will need to carefully read the paperwork you signed with Wirefly to determine what their return policies are.  And by cancelling with wirefly, will my numbers be ported back to Verizon? Your number was never ported away from Verizon.  Wirefly is a third party vendor that sells Verizon phones and service.
Basically, to keep it simple, I want to undo everything I did with wirefly...biggest mistake I've ever made with purchasing mobile phones. Call them and ask for the return period and procedure for making the return.  I would call immediately, since you have to mail the phone back to them, and they may need to recieve it by a certain day.

  • Good Riddance Jefferson Capital SYS!

Yesterday I disputed it being on my husband's Experian report and today it's been deleted!! YAY!!
I told them that I filed a BBB complaint on 7/1 and on 7/7 I received a response from them stating that they would delete from my CR's.  They never did.  I also told them that I have a copy of the complaint and their reply agreeing to delete.  Now it's gone!  I am SO HAPPY!!!  Hopefully this will let his score go above 496!
Now to dispute on the other 2!  YAY!!   Sorry, just so excited to have something going right so far in starting this process lol

Thanks, readyfreddy. You brought me some hope. I guess the first I need to do is sending DV to the CA, but I wonder if need to wait another month since the SOL will expire in a month (= 3 years after the DOFD, Aug 2012). Also while I deal with the CA, what should I do with OC, Verizon Wireless? Or should I deal with them later? Thanks,Peter

  • PO Creation of free goods for intrastat reporting

    All,
Due to intrastat reporting restrictions, when we are creating a PO with a free good we need to mark the item as "Free Good" on the item overview, and set the "Business Transaction type" to 41 on the "Origin / Destination / Business" tab of the "Import" tab.
However, we also need to set the "Statistical value" on the "Decleration Values" tab but this field is greyed out.
    The help message says:
The system determines statistical values on the basis of condition records with condition types GRWR and GWLB (subcontracting).
However it does not say where I can set this value. Does anyone know where I can set this value per material?
    Many Thanks,
    Colm

Can you explain why subcontracting is free of charge, I have never seen somebody doing some work without charging for it.
are you talking about the delivery of the materials sent to your subcontractor or the finished materials that you get back?
Usually the statistical value field can be maintained in VEFU. But I guess it interacts with the free of charge indicator in your case.
I just like to give you some explanation from the statistical office:
u201CProcessing under contractu201D covers operations (treatment/processing, mounting, assembly, enhancement,
renovation, etc.) resulting in the production of new or really improved goods on the basis of intermediate
materials provided free of charge by the commissioning party. Depending on whether processing under
contract is done within the country or abroad, the relevant terms used are u201Cinwardu201D and u201Coutwardu201D
    processing under contract.
u201CProcessing under contractu201C in the context of intra-Community trade statistics covers intra-Community
cross-border movements of goods, provided the finished products produced on the basis of the
intermediate products provided through cross-border transactions will later leave the country of
manufacture (dispatch), being either returned to the original country of consignment (arrival; nature of
transaction u201C41u201C or u201C51u201C) or moved to another country (nature of transaction u201C42u201D or u201C52u201C).
What must be declared is both the cross-border movement of the (free) intermediate materials and the
subsequent (cross-border) return of the finished products.
(Note: Processing performed by the processor on own account is not processing under contract but is
generally covered as purchase/sale (nature of transaction u201C11u201D.)
For the declaration of the intermediate products provided free of charge (nature of transaction u201C41u201D), a
statistical value has to be indicated that corresponds to a selling price customary in the market (free
German border); in case of doubt a careful estimate should be used. When declaring the finished products
(nature of transaction u201C51u201D), the invoiced amount to be indicated is the costs of wage, material, transport
and insurance as invoiced by the contractor; for the statistical value, the statistical value of the
intermediate materials (provided free of charge) must be included, too.
(Note: Intermediate products returned to the commissioning party without treatment should be declared
under nature of transaction u201C51u201D, entering the value originally indicated.)
If, however, the commissioning party provides only parts that are insignificant in terms of function or value
(e.g. labels, screws, etc.), then there is no processing under contract. In those cases, such provision of
materials that is negligible in statistical terms is exempted from declaration for intra-Community trade
statistics. For the finished product supplied on a cross-border basis, a sale or purchase (nature of
transaction u201C11u201D) is regularly assumed, with the value of the materials provided free of charge by the
commissioning party exceptionally not being included when determining the value of the finished
    products.
Also, there is no processing under contract if the contract work performed at the goods provided consists
of just simple activities (e.g. simple packaging, ironing, etc.). In such cases the goods exported or
imported temporarily within that scope are not covered statistically.
    Examples:
    1. A sports car is moved temporarily from Italy to Germany for tuning activities (e.g. power increase,
car body modifications). What is invoiced in addition to the labour costs is some car parts
    purchased by the domestic contractor.
As the sports car is u201Creally improvedu201D by the work performed, this is u201Cprocessing under contractu201D,
which has to be declared under nature of transaction u201C41u201D for arrival and u201C51u201D for (re)dispatch.
    2. For the production of a car in the Czech Republic, the engine gearbox unit and some other parts are
provided free of charge by the commissioning party located in Germany. For the import of the
complete car to Germany, the foreign producer invoices the car without the value of the engine
    gearbox unit.
This is u201Cprocessingu201D of important components (both in terms of value and function) in connection
with the production of a u201Cnew goodu201D (car), i.e. the transaction u2013 by definition u2013 must be declared as
u201Cprocessing under contractu201D both for dispatch and for re-arrival.
    3. For the production of an off-road vehicle produced in Austria, the German commissioning party
provides the company emblem free of charge. When the complete vehicle is imported to Germany,
the foreign producer of the off-road vehicle invoices the vehicle without the value of the company
    emblem mounted on the vehicle.
Although the components provided are u201Cprocessedu201D, they are insignificant parts (company
emblem) both in terms of function and value, so that this is not u201Cprocessing under contractu201D but a
purchase (nature of transaction u201C11u201D) of a vehicle.
    4. An older car is temporarily moved to Poland to restore the paint (washing, polishing and
    conserving).
This is not u201Cprocessing under contractu201D in the context of intra-Community trade statistics because
the work performed consists of just simple activities. As this is u201Ctemporary useu201D, the cross-border
movement of the vehicle is exempted from declaration.

  • What's good about droid X

I come to this forum and all I see is bad this, broken that, and not working whatever. I would like to here all the good things about the X.
I'll start off with the bad because no one has a perfect phone. I had my droid for about a month and I did have some issues with it,  gps, dropped calls, screen would freeze at the most inconvenient times, sluggish when switching screens, and the battery life was usually less than 8 hours. I called CS and they were more than happy to send me another phone and I received it just a few days ago.
Now the good. since I got the new phone battery life is now over 15 hours on single charge. The phone is much more responsive and switching screens is now a joy to see. No problems with screen freezing up. I still get dropped call but I'm seeing that it might be the other carrier with the problem (maybe verizon does not play nice with the network from another carrier lol). And the GPS seems to be working better.I have to say when I got my first droid I loaded it with apps without a second thought and most of my problems could of been just that. Now I didn't install any apps and testing the phone with just the stock apps it came with. So far working great with little bugs and loving the phone. With update could get even better.
Those of your that are just about to get your X take your time and get to know your phone. As others have mentioned download the manual and read up on it. Know what it can do before you add anything to it that way you will have a baseline to compare it to after you load it up with your favorite apps. No phone is perfect, if you dont believe me just take a peek at the forums from users on phones from different carriers like Vibrant (tmobile), EVO (sprint) and so on. Take  the good and weigh it against the bad. if good is more, that your are a happy custumer with minor issues about the phone you can live with. If the bad out weighs the good than return your phone and go with another phone and maybe another carrier that will work for you. I was with tmobile and it was a nightmare since May until I went to Verizon mid August. So if you have good things to say about the X and Verizon please let me know because My 30 day trial is up beginning of October and I need to hear all that could be good with VZ. Oh and when I got my new phone they extended my  30 days, good service so far.

Its not all bad...... I have my issues with mine but I don't know if it is my phone, software or me just having higher expectations. But I love the camera, in a little over a month I have more pictures then all of my previous phones combined, I love listening to Pandora, and having FM radio, weather, and news at my fingertips, and the new found joy of being able to prove someone wrong in the midst of a bar argument in a matter of seconds..Priceless.   But I have my issues youtube/streaming video freezes, the wifi which I thought I could ignore is like a constant itch in a place you can't reach. I have found that the issues with freezing screens etc.... tend to come with crappy apps, or running to much at once, but Froyo will supposedly solve the screen issue.  I have had since day 1 a single stuck pixel but 98% of time I don't see it. The video camera works great but then you can't upload the video b/c of video size but if wifi worked that probably wouldn't be a problem...In any case this fabled release of Froyo should be any day now and I hope it will resolve the issues I am having if not I will see about getting a new phone.  I am past my 30 days so I am stuck with the droid now but if it is defective at the very least I can get a new one. It is by far the best phone I have ever had/used better than the iphones I have seen but not by much especially if these few things don't get fixed.  But enough of the bad, Google sky awesome, Google maps/navigation got me home from a concert when my gaps in the truck told us to go through a closed road and a flooded bridge lol, gmail works great and swype is a cool feature I hope I will eventually get good at.  facebook, is facebook but if its your thing then you'll like it. I have downloaded a bunch of tools, a flashlight that uses the flash and  I use frequently, a level, alarm, stopwatch, police scanner. Voice to text works sometimes but only short phrases and not all words.  FX camera is an awesome free camera app, it doesn't zoom but it does give some really cool effects .  I like the phone, but I am also frustrated by the phone fix my issues and I'd love the phone.
And just for a laugh when I spell checked this, words Verizon's spell check doesnt know :
    droid <----- yeah really
    swype
    froyo
    youtube
    facebook
    app
I dont know arent these fairly standard terms? just chuckled when I saw that : )

  • AT&T contract reset on Activation (of existing iPhone)

The other day I got back from Apple Repair Services my wifes iPhone that we shipped to them to fix a dead strip on her touch screen. Process was good as they sent us a loaner and we shipped back phone. Well anyhow, when we got the phone back, I went and plugged it into iTunes (with her SIM card) expecting to just have it reactivate and then restore from backup. Well instead it went through the initial setup account process (pick a plan, etc). There wasn't an option to get around so I went through with it, finished, and then got her phone all loaded up again. No issues there.
Then I called AT&T to verify that this re-picking of a plan didn't hose up what we already had and I specifically asked about the 2yr contract not getting reset to day 1. Low and behold they said yes it did change it to a new 2yr and they dated it back. I asked to what date. They said Feb9th. "What", I said. Sorry, but that is the day I got the "loaner" which had to be activated (though it didn't make me pick a plan like my wifes returned one did, it just went to activate and then was ready to go). So I told them that was the date I got the loaner, and that I got our iPhones on Jun 29th of 2007 (day 1 of sales). She reviewed the records and saw that fact so dated back the contract to my real day 1. So I am good and fine now there.
However it got me thinking. If the loaner (which had her SIM in it) when it had to Activate caused my contract to reset. Do each re-activation do that? If so, does that mean contracts are getting reset all over the place with Firmware updates that cause reactivation?
So I post this here to see if others wish to take the time to call AT&T (US customers that is) and ask about where their contract stands. Are dates changing for others? I would like to think it isn't doing it for firmware updates, but what about those here that have had to send a phone back and used a loaner. Did their dates change due to loaner activation like mine did?

Got this reply in the AT&T forums
I think there is a current known issue with all activations resetting contracts, even in cases (like yours) where a reset contract is not valid. Should be resolved soon, if it hasn't been already
    http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=apple&thread.id=18120
While that is just from a person there, it is a semi active user so they may of seen reports of it already there. But this is handy to know that there is an issue with re-activations of some sort or another. At least I know when my contract is supposed to end, though I have had AT&T forever and don't really plan on changing anytime soon.

  • Buying New Phone but Contract  can't yet what are my options???

Okay I dropped my phone in some water and had to find a replacement it is a razor but being it was given to me there are issues with it... The phone changes settings on its own and I can't access VM called Verizon and they can't help with changing it and the one that is in the phone is unknown. Talke with Verizon and then Tech Support and they did nothing and said they have no way to know what it is did a master reset and so on.
So here is my question being the contract the phone is under does not allow new phones till December and I can't extend the contract being it is a business phone what are my options? From what I learned buying just a phone from Verizon is a costly one, and if you buy one from an online source the two I got where prepay only and not able to be used on an existing contract.
If I take my replacement used phone to a Verizon Store can they get the Pin number out of? I know they are there to sell you a new phone and want you to extend your contract . The cost of a "NEW" Phone is in the hundereds of dollars when you get it for next to nothing when you sign a contract.
Is there any good place I can get a "New Phone and reactivate it as a replacement and know what the pins are being the one I have now though used Verizon can't not hop[ena dn since it turns off the ringer now and then I miss calls and get vms I can get.
Any suggestions or just go and buy a new phone whatever the best cost is and be done with this???
ANy information on what I can do seems that Verzion can only help so far via the phone and going to a store from what I have experienced and heard is requiring an contract extension and then you get a new phone for a better price. Which again I can not do.
Just looking for some good information on wat the options are???
    MikeMich

Thanks, Looks like I am stuck with the current phone even though no one at Verizon can assist me in getting the pin for the vm feature. As for ebay I contacted 2 sellers that stated their phones were good to be used on Contract the first one I got I called attempted to activate it and they told me it could only be used as a "PrePaid" Phone. I had to return it and the seller want me to end the transaction as if his listing was valid even though it stated could be used on a existing contract. Being he was also in Michigan I got it within a few days but then had to return it. Seems many list their phones like this but when you contact them and ask they kind of side step it and the auction ends. This seller had good feedback maybe because some don't leave any because of the same issue. I looked at whast the phones are listed at an 300 + unless you sign an additional  2 years which I can't do being it is a company phone and paying twice is also not worth it using it as a prepaid phone for 6 months...
Looks like they got you anyway so I will just have to continue getting vms and no access and hope the phone lasts until they can get new ones...
Sad fact is there should be a better way to get a replacement phone. Since I don't know any Verizon Dealers when I had another carrier the guy was great he would do anything including rebuild a doa phone with parts he collected as people upgrade but at Verizon they just want you to "upgrade" and "extend" the contract Which I am not the admin person to make that decision
Guess you have to know someone and I don't...
Such is life these days...At least for me....

    Also from the BT website.

    Your Cancellation Rights
You can cancel a service and any equipment we supply that is needed to use that service, anytime up to 14 calendar days starting from the day after the day we accepted your order. If you do cancel you must return any equipment already supplied, within 14 days of telling us that you have cancelled your order. If you cancel after we start to provide the service, you must pay the service subscription charge for any period that the service was made available to you and for any use of that service not covered by the subscription charge, up to the date that you told us you wanted to cancel. You will also need to pay any connection or activation charges associated with that service – including the full cost of charges that were discounted or advertised as free as a condition of taking the service on the terms that you agreed when we accepted your order.

Does this make your statement incorrect?
If not please could you explain further?
I think that refers to new customer contracts not contract renewals as your service is already activated

  • OA vendor changes in ECC COntract from GOA

I have created a GOA 35000003 with one vendor 11111 (VN) and released and reached ECC as Purchase Contract.
    and
now i could view in me33k contract header -> partner details as OA 11112 and VN as 11111 o.k
now next day vendor master team changed OA 11113 FROM OA 11112  for VN 11111.
Now i create a SC11000012  and PO 70000003 created  for VN 11111 with OA 11112  rather than OA 11113 SINCE MY CONTRACT HAS STILL OA AS 11112.
    Any one faced this problem?
As per business PO must created with OA 11113 rather than OA 11112 since they have changed in vendor master data.
i could change in purchase contract but that is not good practice. ..
as you all aware as a Business process, we are not supposed to change the purchasing contract at any cost. our changes always must be done in SRM GOA. WHAT  TO DO?
Has any one faced this issue?
SG :- plz try this. You can suggest any backend method (no 2 method .no problem) but without touching me32k i want to achiece .already autobos (one of our sdner )advised me do via idoc . but give more insights.take your time.hope you understand my problem. you can ask questions if you need any query on this.
classic:- OA as well as VN both are available in SRM pulled from ECC.(both are same number range)
    now
MY VN 11111 vendor told us that no more OA 11112 . so we set deletion flag this OA vendor 11112. (OA - 11112 ORDERING ADDRESS NO MORE LIKE ABONDONED)
vendor may instruct us to set up OA 11113 for VN 11111 and go on.
    NOW i touch xk02 VN 11111 as OA 11113
now i may need to touch in contract right?

    Hi SG
there are two vendors in two different states so i do have OA and VN relationship.( really names are same but different address vendors). in one state the vendor may get tax exemption.
so maintain VN 11111 ABC LIMITED lnc , FLORIDA and OA 11112 ABC Limited ,DALAS.
NOW i scraped the operation in DALAS , i started new address vendor company in NEWYORK 11113 OA.
so now VN 11111 ABC LIMITED lnc , FLORIDA  and OA as 11113 ABC Limited , NEWYORK.
I set deletion flag for 11112 and removed form VN 11111 and new data is IN XK03.
    VN 11111 and OA 11113 .
SO i need to change the same in contract to other wise my contract always pointing to OA 11112 ABC Limited .DALAS into OA 11113 ABC Limited NEWYORK.
yes. i do have a OA in SRM side too.
i dont have separate number range for OA and VN.
rule:- The contract still pointing to old OA only.contract has VN as well as OA too.
in SRM , while creating a GOA , i use only VN as my vendor.
since i am in classic, GOA is not my source of supply. purchasing contract only my sos.
I need to know the trick to change the OA without touching ME32K.
PS:- i leanrt and confirmed  from SAP MM experts if i change OA vendor for VN vendor in Vendor master , we need to manualy change the contract  partner details too...
IN THE MEAN TIME I HAVE SET DELETION TO TO MY OA VENDOR 11112 DALAS TOO
I also tried to change some piece of data in GOA like some text added and approved and the same contract. no changes on partner data VIA WEB.
You can ask if you have any questins
