Convenience Fee for Online Payment?

What is this that I am hearing about a $2 convenience fee for making a payment online?  VZW, say it isn't so!

Doesn't Verizon make enough money from our bills every month? The only way to avoid this new charge is to enroll in auto bill pay, pay by VZW gift card, pay in store, or to pay by check. My question is, are they going to start paying us for the problems with the phones and with the service that we supposedly buy from them?

I am going to start sending them a check every month, back to the non-green movement. I'm thinking of also opting out of the paperless statements, and make them send me a bill every month...
We need to display our disappointment with Verizon with this new fee. This was put in place to make it convenient for customers to pay their bill online, and now they want to charge you for that.....

  • Process flow with configuration for online payment of vendors

    Dear friends,
I need the process flow with configuration for online payment to vendors through rtgs or neft.
Please help me in this regard. One of my client wants to implement online payment process instead of cheque payment.
    thanks and regards
    satya

    1) Payments are initiated at the corporate SAP System using APP and converted into IDOC
Could you please tell me the steps in converting the app into idoc.
There are standard Idoc used for the same , for APP it would be PAYEXT, You need to use this Idoc type.
You define the EDI payment method and assign the program in FBZP (RFFOEDI1)which would created payment medium.
i believe in the app we will create the proposal and run the payment run, after payment proposal created what are the config steps involved in createing the payment run. for example for checque payment we will maintian variant for cheque printing.
The payment run config is done in FBZP, which would include definf check PM and assigning house bank sub gl etc.
    2) PI at Client End receives the input through IDOC for the payments
Pl means? and how the client will recieve this idoc what is the set up has to be made?
PI(Process Integration) middleware which will send bank files from sap to bank and vice versa.
    3) Bank PI receives the payment and converts the same RTGS/NEFT format
    4) Payment Data is received at the Bank RTGS/ NEFT server for further processing
how the payment data will be recieved by bank what is the process?
This is again via PI or any thoird party tool which will send bank files to sap as Idoc, The idoc message type is FINSTA.
or this in SAP you will have to configure the following:
    *House bank with partner profile
*Outbound parameters                      what is meant by outbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
*Inbound parameters                          what is meant by inbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
The outbound and Inbounmd idoc's are the one which we send(PAYEXT) and rec from bank(FINSTA).  you create partner profile in WE20 and create partner profile once you create you assign outbound and inbound message types in there.
*EDI Compatible payment methods        how to know about the compaitable payment methods
Please goto house bank FI12 and you will see this in there, assign the PM used.
*APP config                                        i know the app config for cheque payment, for this scenairo any additional settings?
It would be pretty much same, you will have to define the PM used and Payment medium and remaining configuration in FBZP.
    *Bank details in Vendor :
You will have to maintain the bank details of the vendor in vendor master.

  • Funds Management - Online Payment Update

    Hi -
I am trying to have payments updated in FM.
"I have used update profile 101 -Pmt Bud, Pmt basis, Posting date ( earlier I have used 102 then changed to 101). I have cheked the box for "" Payment Update online"" in settings for payment transfer.
We ahve New GL activate with FAGLFLEXT with document splitting.I made VOBELNR and KOBELNR as additional charcteristics for document splitting with clearing account 'zero'.
I have read in some treads that we have to make FMGLFLEXT totals table attached to leading ledger, but I have not see in any of the SAP help or SPRO texts that we have to do this way ?.
My Bank account GL is assigned to 90/1 commitment item and the Vendor GL is assigned to 60/3.
After all this Payments are not getting updated in FM. Do i have to do something at the time of payment with respect to account assignment ...
Currently working on ECC 6.0 Sand box with EA-PS lvl 11.
    Thansk in Advance

My Problem is solved now, there were inconsistancies in my commiment item categories. My vendor GL was wrongly assigned to a commitment item with 40/3 instead of 60/3, thats why payments were not updated. Now I can see payments getting updated.
    Settings required were -
    1) Tick for Online Payment Update ( FM- Actual and commitment update - Integration - Define settings for online payment transfer)
    2) The online payment update requires the use of the new general ledger and suitable Customizing for document splitting in Financial Accounting (new) -> General Ledger Accounting (new) -> Business Transactions -> Document Splitting. Here you can use the standard splitting procedure 0000000012 as a basis. You must also define the fields KNBELNR and VOBELNR as document splitting characteristics of the general ledger.

I have one more question   - I have a PO with multiple FM account assignments (e.g two items with Fund center1 and Fund center2) and the same is invoiced. When I do the partial/Full payment Payments are only getting updated in one FM assignement i.e Fund center1. I think the payment has to be split among the FM account assignments. Can spmebody  please clarify.

  • Online payment doesn't work for me, and for many others, since 2004

Verizon, you suck, big time. I have called you tens of times, spent hours on the phone, you can't even escalate a support issue properly. Who is responsible for your online payment website? Because it has a bug that has left many very angry. If you guys know how to use a search engine (the thing you call google), and you know how to cut and paste, please search for the following:
We are currently experiencing difficulties with this payment application. Please try again later. We apologize for this inconvenience.
You will find frustrated users, talking about months trying to get someone to solve the problem. Some reports go back to 2004, some are from this year. Either you are completely incompetent or you don't care, I think it's both.

Online, or by phone, I have not made a payment any other way in maybe 7 years and have never one time had an issue with paying online.
Here is a great idea. Set up Auto-Payment. I no longer do anything. I get a text telling me the bill was paid automatically.
That's too easy. And, you can set up Auto-Payment to charge against your bank account, or credit card and use that charge towards your points and pay the credit card company instead of Verizon, avoiding interest and earning cc rewards.
Then, there is always calling and paying by phone. Did you know companies can accept ATM card numbers now, if you don't have a credit card?
Then, there's paying at the Verizon store. OR, mailing it........
Not having ever seen the Error Message you are referring to, I can't offer any suggestions. Are you sure it is on Verizon's end? There is a plethora of possibilities as to why your browser could reject the connection.
On my computer,anti-virus software, popup blockers, spyware blockers, etc., sometimes block what I have to think are secure websites (my bank, for example).
So, while empathizing with your plight, explore the other options to pay your bill instead of ranting and sounding like a child that just got grounded and had their weekly allowance taken away from them by their parents.

  • For the last 3 months only, I am unable to complete my online payments on your website.  I get as far as method of payment, check the box, and click next.  Then nothing happens.  What gives.  I have to then pay by phone.  Just frustrating.

For the last 3 months only, I am unable to complete my online payment on your website.  I get as far as Method of Payment, mark it, and then lick on NEXT and nothing happens.  What gives?  Have to pay it by phone.

Sheesh. That looks hard. I think it will fall over at this point:
"Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP" 'cos Thunderbird uses only the regular email protocols: POP, IMAP and SMTP.
Here (at work) we have in the past have had IMAP and SMTP enabled on our Exchange server so Thunderbird could then connect just like to any other regular internet-based service.
With the change here to outlook365/outlook 2010 I've had to switch to using DavMail which lets Thunderbird talk to the mail server using OWA.
I haven't (seriously) tried Exquilla. Whilst I have great respect for its author and some of his other add-ons, I saw no reason to use an add-on that required payment when DavMail works for free.

  • Changed credit card in the payment information now can't purchase anything.  The new credit card i use all the time for online purchases but can't buy anything on iTunes.

I Changed my payment information to a different credit card, now it won't work.  The new credit card has been used for online purchasing all the time but I can't buy anything on iTunes or in game app purchases.

What do you mean by 'won't work' and 'can't buy anything' ? If you are getting an error message when trying to buy things then what does it say ?

  • Dear Verizon: $2.00 "Convenience" Fee - Give Me a Break!

    Dear Verizon,
I would like to first thank you for all your services over the last 8 or so years. You have been nothing but a reliable service and in times of complete dissatisfaction your customer service has been nothing but extremely helpful.
I have stumbled across several articles bringing to my attention your $2.00 "convenience" fee. Verizon believes this will reduce their fees for chasing customers who don't pay on time. As a die-hard customer and strong supporter of Verizon for the last 8 years, I have always paid my bill online via credit card. Because of the lack of responsibility held by a minority of your customers Verizon feels the need to punish their entire customer base. Sure you say there are "free" alternatives to pay like in-store payments and snail mail, but then where is my "convenience" discount to use these payment options?
I'm filled with much sadness to watch a company that I've stood by for so long to make such a poor decision. When Verizon first screwed it's customers by removing the $100 cash advance for the "New Every 2" and only giving $50, I still stood by you. When the whole phone community went from "dumb phones" to "smart phones" and everyone forced their customers to pay more money for data plans, I still decided to stay with Verizon. When Verizon decided to remove unlimited data and charge a higher fee for their data rates than their competitors guess who still stood by your side? This guy. And when Verizon failed to bundle data packages into family plans again who stayed with Verizon? Me. With this latest move I can't even begin to justify this undeniably greedy money grab labeled as a "convenience" fee to pay my bill. As soon as the last 2-year contract expires in my family plan I will be jumping ship and taking every last soul I can possibly convince to leave Verizon. Do the CEOs of Verizon not follow current events? Take a look at Bank of Americas attempt for "convenience" fees. Wake up Verizon, the whole world is watching.
    Sincerely,
    Andrew Welsh

Weth handeled one aspect of your question, I'll address the "refurbished" section.
When your phone (software or hardware) "breaks", you have 2 choices to get your phone replaced. Speak with the manufacturer or the cellular provider. The difference is that the provider can send you out a phone and give you time to send in the old one so you dont have to be without your phone for too long. Yes, you will get a "refurbished" phone of the same make and model IF the provider has any of them in stock. There is no alternate or substitute available. (This is part of the agreement that your cellular provider has with the MANUFACTURE)
If you go through the manufacture for a warranty issue, and they replace the device, you sill still get a refurbished device of the same make and model. (you have to send your phone in first)
Remember, Verizon, AT&T, SPRINT, T-Mobile are all CELLULAR CARRIERS and do not make the phones or the operating systems that are in the phones.

  • $2 convenience fee and .99 admit. fee

Are you for real ?  Being in a rescission , people losing jobs, losing homes, fighting to stay alive !  Verizon, do you think this is a smart move, it will cost you more money to process by mail, than online or phone payments.  The taxes on our bills is bad enough to cope with !    THIS CONVENIENCE FEE MAYBE A CONVENIENCE TO YOUR COMPANY, BUT NOT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, I HOPE EVERYONE WILL GET ON BOARD AND STOP THESE TWO FEES !
MY CONTRACT WILL BE UP THIS YEAR   I WILL GO WITH METRO, FOR $53.00 A MONTH, WE CAN GET  FREE, UNLIMITED CALLS, FREE  GPS,  FREE  E NET,  AND COVER AREA AS YOUR COMPANY DOES !
NO CONTRACT  !   YOU NEED TO TAKE BANK OF AMERICA'S STEP AND DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THIS !!!!!!!!       WHAT HAPPEN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is outrageous! Pay YOU for the CONVENIENCE of PAYING MY BILL!? How stupid do you think we are? I plan to pay my bill at the Local Verizon store and make such a scene every time I have to go in there that your employees will cringe when they see me come in each month!
So you can STICK your convenience fee. When my contract expires I'm outta here. I can get an Android Phone with UNLIMITED calls, data, and messaging for $45 a MONTH from Straight Talk. And ya know what....NO IGNORANT CONVENIENCE FEE!

  • $2 convenience fee

Perfect example of the greedy corporate gouging that's angering Americans to the breaking point. Now they want to charge an extra "convenience fee" to pay a bill??? I pay my bill every month as soon as it comes and now they want to whack me for the convenience. Is this a joke?
HEY VERIZON, there are cheaper alternatives for us out there. I'm sure there are many people like me who will be checking them out. My bet is you'll lose more money over this move than you'll take in. Brilliant!!!
    Soon to be former customer

So I just found some information that Verizon is going to start to gouge us out of even more money, that is if you pay your bill on the phone or online with a Credit Card. From what I have been reading starting January 15th, if you pay your bill with a credit card through the Verizon website or on the telephone, they are going to hit you with a $2 "Convenience Fee". If you set up Auto bill Pay with a Credit Card that fee is waived. I don't understand what the difference is if I have it Auto paid or if I pay it when I want. Also the fee does not occur if you do an EFT from your bank account. If you do not think this is right, contact them and complain about it, maybe if they get enough complaints about it they will do like Bank of America on their $5 monthly fee to use debit card and re-think their decision to gouge us out of even more money.
Yea, I saw that also, I am going to start sending in a check every month, and make them process it the old fashion way. Either that, or I am going to take my $300+ phone bill to a Verizon store every month and pay them in pennies...
I was looking through my bill, and I noticed something else that is increasing. I am not sure if this was ever discussed or not, but this is what I saw:
     Notice Of Administrative Charge Increase
Effective 1/1/2012, the monthly Verizon Wireless Administrative Charge
for voice and email plans will increase from $0.83 to $0.99 per line for all
eligible customers. The charge for Mobile Broadband customers will
remain at $.06. For information regarding this charge, call
1-888-684-1888. Please consult your Customer Agreement for
    information about rate changes
    Has anyone else seen this?

  • $2 Convenience Fee? I think NOT! See you later Verizon!

I just heard about a $2 "convenience" fee that Verizon will be charging for paying my bill on line. That's just not very convenient for me, so if it's true,  I am taking my business elsewhere. I've been a Verizon customer for over 15 years. I haven't renewed my contract yet, so there's not a **** thing you can do to keep me except remove the fee. In fact, to keep me, you need to REDUCE my bill by $5 per month. How do you like that?
Please pass this along to whomever at your company cares, as if anyone really does.

    GOOD BYE VERIZON!
Thank you for making my decision to leave very easy.
Verizon gets over $400.00 from me per month for all of my cell services.  Hmmmm!  Let's see.  That is $4,800.00+ per year.  I am sure another carrier would love to have my business.
I WILL NOT PAY $2 PER MONTH JUST TO PAY MY BILL ONLINE!

  • Validation option for Vendor payments

    Hi Everybody,
We have about 150 vendors for whom we make cheque payments (manual payment processing). Now, we started implementing online payments and currently we are making online payments for about 30 vendors.  We want to create validation process for these 30 vendors in payment transaction code F-58 not to allow for cheque payment processing.  If these vendors are selected in t code F-58, an error should be thrown saying these vendors are not for cheque payments. Please advice on this option in SAP in detail.
    With best regards,
    Hemanth

    hi

  • F-28 online payment block

    Hi,
I am getting an Error while processing Customer Payments on T Code : F-28, The Error is as follows :
1 item(s) was/were not activated due to online payment block : Message no. F5528
Please help me resolve the issue
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi,
Review your settings on V_T008 for the payment block key associated to this vendor's open line item. Take special care about column "Manual Payments Block" as this flag it is the one that causes this behaviour in the system.
Aso check whether any substitution is active in your company code in OB28 which put the automatic payment block.
Also check whether the payment term assigned to the customer has the payment block key assigned in OBB8 transaction.
Also check whether this customer is captured in a incomplete/ forward dated Payment run, alternatively run an open item list FBL5N for the customer, using a display variant showing "payment block" to confirm what type of payment block exists. You may need to run this showing "all items", as the payment run may have a forward dated "Posting Date" hence why it is currently open as at "todays" "clearing date" but marked as being blocked.
    Regards,

    Hi jennys8380407,
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "unable to obtain a receipt"? Are you not able to see the invoices for your payments? Or are you unable to print them? It sounds like you have followed the steps outlined here: Print a payment receipt or invoice | Creative Cloud--can you tell me what you do see when you look at the subscriptions listed on your account?

  • Can a PDF process an online payment

    Hello all!
I am the forms coordinator for my state agency.  All of our forms are fill-in.  A co-worker has asked if a form is submitted electronically, can it also process a payment.  We do have a third party that is used to process any online payments for our agency.
Any information would be helpful.  Thanks!

It really depends on who the payment provider is, and what you mean by "process" - are you collecting card details and submitting them to a website, or
is it an interactive process where the server sends back information? There are also restrictions imposed by most banks as to exactly how and where the data is collected (for example some credit cards will run interactive verification using an iframe in the host website, and that can't be done via a PDF).
Before investing any time in the work, I'd suggest talking to your provider and checking what's allowed, and what's technically possible. Those which do allow remote submission will often have an API layer that's easier to talk to.

  • Best File Format For Online Line Art?

I thought the conventional wisdom was that all line art for the screen should be saved as GIFs, all photographic line art should be saved as JPEGs.
Then PNGs came along and offered an alternative to GIFs.
I've been exploring this because I've been having a problem when exporting line art from Illustrator 8 as a PNG and opening it in Fireworks MX, where it appears washed out.
I did a bit of research among comic strip artists -- the art I'm exporting from Illustrator is a comic strip -- and came up with conflicting results.
Dilbert seems to save black and white line art as GIFs, e.g. http://dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/archive/images/dilbert2008611230313.gif
... But its Sunday colored strips seem to be saved as JPEGs, e.g. http://dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/archive/images/dilbert2008040261966.jpg
Meanwhile Donnesbury seems to save colored comic strips as GIFs, e.g. http://images.ucomics.com/comics/db/2008/db080406.gif
    Any thoughts, suggestions?
    Thanks.

I assume your line art is drawn as vector art in Illustrator, correct?
As far as I'm concened, the "best file format for online line art" would be .swf, because it would retain its scaleable vector nature, and the Flash Player is most likely embedded in any reasonably recent computer's browser.
But a little simple experimentation would be in order regarding file size. SWF (as exported from Flash, not necessarily AI) is very efficient. But the complexity of the line art could still make a given image require more bandwidth as .swf than as a rasterized version.
The former conventional-wisdom regarding PNG is the old "not supported in older browsers" saw. I see even Firworks's online help still says:
    > However, not all web browsers can view PNG graphics.
Personally, I think its way past time to stop cow-towing to outdated browsers and use PNGs anyway. So if it were me, and the nature of my line art required rasterization for online use, I would use PNG for its obvious advantages. But then, my livlihood is not affected by some minority of outdated web viewers not being able to view my PNGs.
I would think that whatever color problems you are having in getting your AI files exported to PNG can be worked out with a little investigation/experimentation. (PNG supports color management profiles, so that alone may be your problem, and may be easily fixed in your workflow.) GIF is by definition limited to a subset of colors. JPEG is by definition a lossy compression format. So there are certainly precise color-accuracy issues with those overused formats, too.
But again, that's just me. What little I do in web graphics that would involve this issue doesn't really affect my livelihood. Lowest-common-denominator compatibility may be more important to you.
    > Gilbert seems to...
    > Doonsbury seems to...
The two images are very close to the same size (132K & 125K). They both include contone grads. Between JPEG and GIF, I would expect JPEG to more consistently yield acceptable results. Since GIF is limited to an 8-bit lookup table, I would expect aberations such as unwanted banding to be more likely in GIF if the artwork contains many colors and alot of highly-rendered shading.
    Since you specify
line art, though, that would rule out contone fills, and you could use GIF with a very small color table.
On the other hand, you do not specify whether you want to use transparency in your line art images. If you do, PNG would be far superior, because it supports true alpha transparency. In a GIF, if you can only make one particular color transparent. So even with line art, if the line art is antialiased at all, you'll have the ugly halos so commonly seen in GIFs when displayed on a wrong-colored background.
The only functional "advantage" that I see in GIF over PNG is its multi-image capability, for quick & dirty frame-by-frame animation. My personal animation efforts focus entirely on Flash/SWF, and use scripted animation whenever possible to avoid frame-by-frame. But I recognize the simplicity convenience of animated GIFs for web banners and those (often-annoying) moving icons and such.
