Cost Center not flowing in the GL view

Hi Friends,
The users have made the entries in the system and defined the Cost centers in the respective fields, while posting the documents. However, when we run the GL Report thru FAGLL03, we notice that the Cost Centers do not get displayed in the Report. On further checking the documents posted we find that the cost centers are maintained in the 'Entry View' but these do not flow to the GL view. This is resulting in the values not getting picked up in the Report Painter Form which is based on the table FAGLFLEXT.  How can we chek and waht needs to be done on the config side to enable the values to be flown in the GL view as well and get maintained in the table FAGLFLEXT.
Thanks for the Help.
Regards

Hi Nikhitha,
As advised by Guarav earlier, the cost center scenario has been maintained and in the GL Cost center field has also been included. But still the cost center is not displayed in the GL view.
Is there anything else to be checked in this case.

can any one help me to how we can resolve this issue
    Please find attached document

    Hi,
Here I am providing the necessity and importance of splitting structure, will share the configuration steps once you go through the following and get the comfort level.
Expense Analysis and Splitting in Manufacturing Cost Centers
Introduction In SAP Cost center work as a cost responsibility center, where all the expenses and cost are stored and analyzed for the purpose of management decision making.
The cost could be fixed or variable in nature. The difference between variable and fixed costs can be made in various ways in product costing in CO module.
Fixed costs represent the static costs incurred by the organization, which doesn’t change on the basis on manufacturing activities, which remain constant irrespective of production activities like rent for the premises, salaries of office staff etc.
On the other hand, variable cost varies based on the level of production activities; if production activities increase then variable cost also increased like electricity consumes raw material charges etc.
However all the variable cost doesn’t vary in direct proportion by quantity of goods produced.
In this document will try to define; how the Expenses analysis and splitting of cost done in manufacturing cost centers.
From controlling prospective, fixed cost remain constant regardless of operating activities, but if these factor changes, variable cost will fluctuate.
Basically raw material costs represent variable cost, but in this document main focused will be given to distinguish fixed and variable activity cost.
The segregation between fixed and variable cost is optional and is derived from the configuration and master data configured in cost center accounting and overhead accounting.
    Activity Price:
There are different methods that could be used in cost center accounting to determine the activity price. The simple way is the manually enter “Fixed” and “Variable” Activity cost (KP26).
However there are other methods used in Cost center Planning and Budgeting that automatically calculate the fixed and variable activity price.
Here the focused will be given on Planning and Budgeting activity and automatic calculation of plan activity rate in cost center.
This method aggregate planned costs by cost element and capacity by plan unit to calculate the activity price.
Activity independent costs are segregated among different activities based on Splitting Structure, while activity dependent cost directly used for the purpose of variable activity rate calculation.
    Fixed Activity Cost:
In product costing all those cost, which doesn’t vary based on the activities in manufacturing cost will represent fixed cost.
In a manufacturing cost centers there may be two or more activities performed.
To calculate the activities rate, the fixed costs are distributed to various activities on the basis of Splitting Structure defined for cost center.
    Variable Activity Cost:
Variable activity cost, which directly depend upon the activity type and fluctuate based on increase or decrease in manufacturing activities. In SAP variable activity cost are directly linked to the respective activity.
Activity Prices: Fixed and Variable Split
In Cost Center Accounting dividing the cost between Fixed and Variable requires appropriate split to be made in the cost entered for the activity. The process is described below:
    i.  Variable cost would be planned at activity level and expenses should be maintained at cost element in the manufacturing cost center by assigning activity and cost element combination.
In other word, the expenses should be planned on Activity type at the time of primary cost planning (KP06).
Then the variable activity rates are calculated on Total cost planned at Activity divided by Total number of activity planned at that cost center (i.e. capacity in KP26)
ii. Fixed cost would be planned at independent of activity type. These costs are maintained in KP06 at cost element level on manufacturing cost center.
Then the fixed costs are distributed on various activity types on the basis of Splitting structure defined at OKEW.
In Splitting Structure we define the rules, how the fixed cost will be distributed to Activities. For the purpose of this document, considering split of fixed cost on the basis of Capacity maintained in KP26.

  • KO88 - Error when settling for Cost Center AND Auc for the same Internal Or

    Hi Experts,
We need to configure Investment Internal Orders that could settle to both Cost Center and Auc, but each assignments with different Source Cost Elements
    We did the following:
    1. Created Auc Class
    2. Created Investment Profile "IMOBIL" and assigned to Auc Class, flagging Auc
    3. Created Allocation Structure "CV" with two assignments:
01, Source = Cost elements 7000000000 to 7999999999, receiver AUC "by cost element"
02 Source = Cost elements 4000000000 to 4999999999, receiver CTR "by cost element"
    4. Created Model Order, filling the Investment Profile IMOBIL created in step 2.
5 Created Settlement Profile ZCV0001, assigning Allocation Strucutre CV, allowing CTR and AUC for receivers, default receiver is "FXA", doc type "AA".
6 Created ORder Type CV01, assigning Settlement Profile ZCV0001.
When I post only for Asset Expenses (Source Cost element 7, Assigment 01), the settlement through KO88 correctly settles to AUC, and also creates the settlement rule for cost center (i'm using the strategy to create from Responsible Cost Center).
But when I post for Asset Expenses (cost elements 7, receiver AUC) AND General Expenses (Source Cost element 4, receiver CTR), KO88 generates an error KD506, saying that for Assigment 02 - AUC I didnt define a settlement cost element.
    1. Assignment 02 is not AUC, is CTR;
    2. I flagged "by cost element", so I don't need a settlement cost element. And also, I was able to post to AUC when the source posting was only for cost element 7.
Did you face any problem like this?
I cannot find out what is the missing configuration, or if it is a program error...
    Kind Regards
    Mayumi Blak

    Hi Ajay
I already created Source Structure and assigned to my Setllement profile (so I assigned Allocation Structure AND Source Structure).
I don't understand when you say that I need to assign the Source Sutrcture in each rule....because the Source structure is in the Settlement Parameters valid for both rules...
When I post to Asset Expenses only for the internal Order, the 2 rules (CTR and AUC) are created when I run KO88 (but only AUC rule is settled). This is OK.
The problem is when I post for both General Expenses AND Asset Expenses, the system is not recognizing that I have 2 source structures, neither is findind that for CTR AND AUC the Settlement cost elements are the original cost elements.
I'm thinking about changing message KD506 to warning, do you know if this can help?
    Kind Regards

  • Profit center not flowing in line item 2

    Hi Experts,
We have activated document splitting and kept the field Business Area (BA), Profit center (PCTR) and Segment mandatory and only business area and segment as zero balancing field.
While doing F-02 for an entry of Expense a/c..... Dr, Bank A/c ... Cr, I am giving cost center (say A) in the expense line item. From that Business area (say K) and Segment (say X) is taken in the expense line item and if I do not give anything in the bank line item the same is inherited there also.
If i give a separate profit center (B) in the bank line item (other than that in the expense line item) and keep the business area blank, automatic line item of 'inter branch clearing' is generated with 2 different PCTR (say A and B) and segment (say X and Y) but same business area
*But if I give a separate business area in the bank line item and keep the profit center blank though it is generating automatic line item of inter-branch clearing for separate business areas but it is not inheriting profit center from the expense line item and it is giving me an error that profit center in line item is not filled
    Please help
    Sourabh

@ Murli: The scenarios for OL ledger is maintained so that is not the reason.
@ Ravi: I also initially thought the same but even after making profit center zero balanced it did not work.
    The scenario is like this:
We are trying to post a JV - Dr. Expense a/c to Bank a/c.
    1. When both BA & PC are left blank in the Bank line item, both are getting  inherited from the Expense line item.
    2. When both BA & PC are manually given, system is taking the manual inputs only.
    3. When user enters PC manually but leaves BA blank, system takes that PC (user input) and inherits BA from the Expense line item.
    4. BUT, when user enters BA manually & leaves PC blank, system is taking the BA (user input) & leaving the PC field blank, i.e. not inheriting PC from the Expense line item.

  • Cost Center not updated in accounting documents generated in SAP RE-Fx

    Hi Experts,
I'm facing an issue wherein I don't see the cost centers getting updated in the accounting documents generated from RE postings.
Pl. note that the appropriate cost center (relevant to the cost center) is maintained in the rental objects.
What is the customizing settings I'm missing out due to which I don't see the cost center updated in the accounting documenmts?
    Thanks & Regards
    Shantanu

    HI Shantanu,
As far as I know, in RE-FX we can post the cost to the RE object directly. All the objects in RE-FX (i.e. BE, BU, PR, RO, RECN, SU, etc) are cost objects in themselves. However, to post the cost to Cost centers you will need to run the CO settlement. Again CO settlement rule is available in all these objects.
Please refer the SAP Library for further explanation:

  • KI222 - Inappropriate Cost Center Not Valid Error Message

Iu2019m having a problem goods issuing material to a cost center (movement type 201) via a call of the BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE BAPI (ECC 6.0).  I can post a specific material / plant / storage location / cost center combination without issue via MB1A but when attempting to call the BAPI processing the exact same data, I get the error message KI222: Cost center aaaa/ccccc does not exist on 05/14/2009.  (where aaaa = the appropriate controlling area and ccccc = the cost center).  Iu2019ve checked the validity dates on the cost center via KS03 and all looks fine (the cost center is valid until 12/31/9999).  The cost center is valid on the posting and entry date I'm passing in the BAPI header.
Any ideas what I may be doing wrong or if thereu2019s some field Iu2019m not appropriately selecting / flagging in the BAPI.  Iu2019m using the BAPI successfully for several other movement types (701, 702, 551, 552).
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hello,
Go to OKKS and set your controlling are correct.
    Then go to KS03
See the from validity. If there from date is in past then there should not be any issue.
Make sure that your entry is using current date not old dates in the data using BAPI
You can switch off the message for the time being.
Go to OBA5 and application area KI and message number 222.
Switch off the message for online and batch entries.
This is only for temporary purpose till you pass on your BAPI. But this is not suggest to do it in production system, as this is deviating from standard functionality.
If the message is not available in OBA5, first go to OBMSG transaction code add the message there to the application area (tick switch off message check box) and then come to OBA5 to switch off the message.

  • Cost center not visible in PR05

    Dear All,
I have a situation.  This employee was transferred from one company code to another with new cost center.  When he was in the previous company code, he has created an expense report and saved but NOT submitted.  Now the cost center is not visible in the PR05 screen, however in simulation it is showing the correct cost center (previous cost center).  Kindly let me know why this cost center is blank, as per the SAP standards, it should show the cost center which is active during that period of time when he creates the trip.
    Regards,
    LNB

    Hi,
In PR05 the cost center at line item will not show if the default cost center from the employee master data is taken. You can check at the table level which cost center is taken for the trip level. The table is PTRV_SCOS. It is not very clear what is the issue you are facing. Pls provide more details like screen shot OR some more description.

  • Forgot to assign Cost center for one of the GL account and positing are don

    Hi All,
I have created GL account but forgot to assign Cost center to that GL, now some 1000 documents are posted in that account,
what is the best way to resolved this problem.
    your respond is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Supriya.

    Hi Supriya
In such scenario, always keep the below 5 steps in mind
    1. The T code is OKBA (and not OBKA)
    2. Create the cost element and assign a default cost center in KA02
    3. Execute OKBA by inputting the 1000 doc nos
    4. All these vlaues will hit one single cost center
    5. Now do a KB11N if you wish, to transfer the values from This cost center in KA02 to the desired cost center....

  • Attributes not deleted int the Connector View

when an attribute is deleted in the data source, the corresponding attibute is not deleted in the connector view.
    For example :
when a mailforwardingaddress attribute is deleted in the datasource entry, it remains visible in the connector view.
    Config :
The UTC uses an attribute flow including mailforwardingaddress,
updates are made only from datasource to CV.
    no default values, no filter.
    Thanks for any help.

MEtadir is not attributes owned but entries owned: to do so, you must create a new AF where the criteria is %operation% = DeleteFromCVtoMV and in flow, you choose attributes you want to see deleted

  • Infotype Header Data - Cost center- System to read the latest data

    Dear Group Members,
I am modifying Infotype Header data and calling Cost center (Field - KOSTL) in header data via modifying header data in   table T588J. The cost center values appears on the  header data (As stored in Infotype 0001) however it appears with the oldest data. i.e. if the employee cost center had been changed after his joining system does not picked up the Latest data/ Latest cost center value.
Any one on how to resolve this issue with SAP Standard functionality.

    Hi,
The answer to your question lies in table V_582A_B. You can either access it through SM30 or by following IMG path:
    SPRO>Personnel Management>Personnel Administration>Customizing User Interfaces>Change Screen Header>Header structure per infotype
There is a u201Cchoose datau201D indicator for each infotype. If that is checked, the header displays data as per the start date of infotype displayed; otherwise, it shows data valid as of system date. Please bring up SAP help on the field by F1 for more information.
Also check table T588H (data selection field) as it has some dependencies for the above mentioned settings. The table can be brought up from:
    SPRO>Personnel Management>Personnel Administration>Customizing User Interfaces>Change Screen Header> Infotype header data selection control
    Hope this helps.

  • GL Account details at the header are not flowing to the item level in SC

    Hi All,
While creating a Shopping Cart, first I am specifying the cost assignment details (i.e., Cost Center, GL Account) in the header and then creating the line items for the shopping Cart.
While creating these line items, the cost center which is specified in the header is populated at the line item, but GL Account is blank.
I need to populate the same GL Account at each line item.
I checked the badi: <b>BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT</b> to populate the GL account for line items. But I am unable to determine this header GL Account in this badi.
Can anybody help me in this regard, <b>thanks in advance</b>.
    Regards
    Loknath

    Hi
<b>The purpose of the BADI - BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT is to deal with Shopping cart - Item level data, there it contains only two tables
    ITEM_DATA
This contains the most important item data for the shopping cart.
    ACCT_DATA
This contains the account assignment data for the shopping cart item.</b>
    <u>Here is the documentation.</u>
    <b>BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT</b>
You can use the Business Add-In BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT to specify your own criteria for determining the G/L account.
In the standard system, the G/L account is determined using the product category and the account assignment type, refer to Define G/L Account for Product Category and Account Assignment Category.
The G/L account is then placed in field ACCT_DATA-G_L_ACCT. Then, the system calls the Business Add-In BBP_DTERMINE_ACCT.
In method DETERMINE_ACCOUNT, two table parameters are available:
    ITEM_DATA
This contains the most important item data for the shopping cart.
    ACCT_DATA
This contains the account assignment data for the shopping cart item.
This means that you can now determine the G/L account irrespective of other item data (or any combination of item data) and overwrite field ACCT_DATA-G_L_ACCT.
    Example
For the product category OFFICE SUPPLIES in conjunction with account assignment type CC (cost center), the system determines G/L account 400000. However, you also want to take into account the company code (field ITEM_DATA-CO_CODE) when determining the G/L account. The system is to make postings to G/L account 410000 for company code 0002. So you overwrite field ACCT_DATA-G_L_ACCT with 410000.
<u>I recommend, In future, Please read the relevant documetation of any of the BADIs in SE18 Transaction, before implemnting the same, to get the details.</u>
    Hope this will help.
Please reward suitable points, incase it suits your requirements.
    Regards
    - Atul
