Cost Centre creation ....

Hi ...
I have a question ... I need to create cost centre, when I run KS01 I have Cost Centre field, do I need to enter 8 digit no, here ? If so what no is that ? Or is it when hit the button there is is a of list of cost centre ... but I can't choose anyone tht one ...
Sorry guys ... this may sound a little bit silly ... but how do I go about it
Thanks in advance
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
Yes, you can enter a sequence of 8 digits that does not exist in the system.  However, do take note of the validity period.  If the cost centre eg 10001000 exists from 01.01.1900 to 19.09.2006, you can still create the same cost centre (10001000) from 20.09.2006 to 31.12.9999.  This feature is to allow change of ownership such as person responsible.
Generally the system does not stop you from creating 1100 or 1200.  However, if there is a check placed in IMG then it might stop you or issue a warning.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

  • Rel. strategy is not triggered while creation of PR with cost centr

    Hi Gurus,
While creation of PR release strategy is not getting triggered with cost centre BCWSV870. But release strategy of PR triggered for cost centre BCWSV852 (In PR changed only cost centre as BCWSV852 instead of BCWSV870). Both cost centres are similar and the both cost centres are exist in characteristics value in CL20N for the same release strategy.
My question is why for one cost centre triggers release strategy triggers and for other cost centre release strategy is not triggered. Can you please tell how come this and rewarded for answer this.
    With regards,
    C. Sundar Rajan

    Hi,
In regard to problematic PR with cost center BCWSV870, was your PR maintained with only one line item? or multiple line items?.  In additions, when defining cost center as part of the release strategy structure, did you enter all cost centers with leading zeros?  Tak a further look into OSS Note 365604 for your further investigation.

  • Cost Centre authorization check during PR creation

    Hi all,
Just want to know whether the standard SAP do check the cost centre authorization during PR creation with account assignment.
Please note that no user exit is used.
I am looking at standard system check on the authorization object thru the user profile.
    Thanks.
    Tom

    Hi Steve,
I found the solution.  The control must be from the authorization object that assigned to the user.
For example, M_BEST_EKO authorization object.  The display activity "09" (Display Price) should not be assigned to this authorization object.
Hence, the user would not be able to see the price info in the standard report.
    Cheers.

  • Creation of 1000 Cost Centres will slow down the system performance

    Hi,
Can anyone suggest us, that if we create more than 1000 Cost Centres will there be any system/server performance issue in
    SAP Business One.
    Thanks,
    Vishwa

    Hi Vishwa,
You are 50 % correct, Application performance may get slow but it won't clash.
Because If you create 1000 of Cost Center, for each transaction system have to search and have to do the entry for corresponding cost center also. So there is a chance to get low performance. But application won't crash.
Also you check other mean also like network configuration, protocol priority, cache memory size increasing, page fault size and others.

  • Resrticting Goods receipt based on cost centre in EBP Version 2.0

    Hi,
I am working with EBP2.0 version & I need to know whether I can restrict the GR with ref. to cost centre in EBP. (ie. Receive any order functionality. We have not defaulted any cost centre & the user will enter the cost centre & GL a/c at the time of creation of shopping cart only.
Is it possible to restrict the Goods Receipt with ref. to cost centre in EBP2.0 version. If so then please let me know how to go about it.
Your immediate response is very much appreciated.
    Regards
    Raghu

    Hi  S.R.P.
There is no control  between GI and GR, you have to make a control using UDF
    for example
1.Add UDF in GR called GI Number
2.and make this field mandatory using SP
3.Ask the user to enter GI number
4.If user enter GI number in GR then choose the item code in GR means, using FMS you can also do automatically load a Warehouse, price,Account code what ever in GI.
5.using sql query report u will get control

  • Counter - Total by Cost Centre

I have a report that shows HR positions by there master cost centre. I created a KF with a replacement path variable e.g. = 1 for Position so that I can count the number of positions. I have display result set for cost centre so that I get a total for the number of psotions. However this only gives me a grand total for all the cost centres in my report. I want a total for each cost centre in my report. Anybody any idea how I might get that?

    Hi Joel,
If you want to go with creation of Counter on Total by Cost Centre  you should have Counter Key Figure in all the cubes.
Then only it will allow you to create the counter on Total by cost centre.
    Hope this may help you.

  • Cost Centre Distribution by Percentage in a Contract

    Hi,
In a PO, it is possible to split the costs of one item to multiple cost centres using distribution by percentage function in account assignment tab.
I need the same process in creation of contract, so an item can have costs split to multiple cost centres. I cannot find a way to do this, contract only seems to give one cost centre option.
Has anyone any thoughts on how to achieve this?
    Thanks.

In ME31K select the item , go to Item -- Account assignments enter the first account assignment object then choose the Change display option. Here you can enter multiple account assignments.
    Cheers

  • Activity Types and Cost Centres

Our PP is not yet live now.
While going through the system settings, it is found that many activities (approx. 15 for indirect expenses also) are planned in the Production Cost Centres.
However, these activities are not included in the master data of the Work Centre. Only one activity type is mentioned there for machining.
Then, what is the purpose of other activity types planned if they are not mentioned in the Work Centre ?
Is there any other way these activity costs will appear in the Cost report ?

    Hi,
You are almost on the right line, activity quantities will be triggered in the  cost center report based on the routing master and through  the confirmation from the production orders.
For the creation of the  work center - Activity Planning KP26 is required. Cost center/Activity
where we can plan the activity quantities.
Prior to that KP06 is required to plan the  primary cost combination of (Cost Element/Cost center/Activity Type) where we can plan the cost.
Based on the above information we can calculate the plan price - KSPI
Based on the confirmation from the production orders activity quantities will be updated in the center report. cost will be updated with actual postings in the cost center.
So that you can calculate the actual activity price.
Please look into the blog for better understanding:

  • Cost centre Restriction according to Plant in ME51N

    Dear All
My customer requirement is to restrict the cost centre during PR creation depending upon plant
If cost centre is not belongs to particular plant it will give error message
    eg
if plant is X then cost centre must be  between 310000 to 319999
else if its y then its between  410000 to 419999
    Regards
    Arun

    Dear Arun,
create a customer table by mainainting the cost center and plant combination, ask your ABAP team to control through user exit that and write an error message that at the time of saving PR if plant and cost center combination match then it will save other wise throw an error message.

  • Cost crentre creation date - norms

    Hi,
Is it mandatory to create cost centers always with effect from the first date of the month or I can create the same on any date?
Suppose I have created a cost centre on 02.12.07 and have posted to a cost element for the first time on 09.12.07 and want to run to distribution cycle on 09.12.07 itself...will it work?
Do I need to follow any norms reagading dates for creation of cost elements...mean to say...if the cost element date is prior to creation of cost centre, will that give me trouble while settling..or the vice versa.
    Regards,
    AB

    It controls two imp parameters
cost center will be active based on your from and to dates.
this will also used to control different parameters for different periods ex. different person responsible for different time frames.
no relation with cost elements. when u post document it will see wether cost element and cost are active on the perticular day.
distribution cycle for period end activity to allocate common expenses occured during the month. it will considere only the posting during the period specified.

  • Master Cost Centre - create and assign (steps required)

    Hi All,
I am currently working on a IDES system. I want to create and assign Master Cost Centre. Please help me in providing the steps to create and assign the same.
    Regards,
    Chinmay

    Hi Chinmay,
Cost Center creation is done by FI Team as that comes under FI module and lot of the other things need to be done. If you just want to create Cost Center you can go to
Financials -> Controlling (CO) -> Cost Center Accounting -> Master Data -> Cost Centers -> Create Cost Centers
Tcode for Creating Cost Center is KS01 and for changing KS02
You also need to Activate Cost Center Accounting in Controlling Area
Financials -> Controlling (CO) -> Cost Center Accounting -> Activate Cost Center Accounting in Controlling Area table V_TKA01_GD
For assigning cost center to employee, you can assign it in IT0001 whihc is the master cost center and IT0027 where you can assign overriding cost center
Hope the information will be helpful

  • PR went to HR cost centre

    Hi Expert!
    Need your help please..
I just submitted PR 10004404 for approval. For some reason, it went to the HR cost center for approval even though I didn't list the HR cost center on the PR. Is there a way to find out why it went to HR for approval?

i got the answer now. That is because she assigned the wrong cost centre during PO creation and that is why the PO went for HR for approval instead of Finance.
Neway, thanks guys! You help me getting the idea.

  • Possibility of Having GL Control while making Cost Centre PR

    Hi Experts
I have one urgent requirement..i.e. at the time of Cost Centre PR creation user should be restricted to enter only selected 2-3 GL accounts. Please suggest how can i restrict GL account at the time of PR creation.
    Regards
    Ajay Goel

    Hi,
In standard, you can default the GL based on the account assignment category - using the account modifier maintained against the account assignment category in OME9 and the OBYC config for GBB - <account modifier>.
If you want to restrict the allowed entries for the GL with few GL's then there is no option in standard in MM side as of my knowledge. You may check whether you can use different field status group for the allowed GLs' (FS02 and OBD4) and then maintain different field selection for the field status group same as the field selection for the account assignment category - I didnt test the option - you may check the same.
Else, you may go for development. If you are going for development, you may create a custom table and maintain the account assignment category and the allowed GL's - you can write logic to check the account assignment category, entered GL and the ztable and issue message accordingly.

  • Restrict GL / Cost Centre combinations for users/roles?

    Hi,
Please could someone advise if it is possible to restrict Cost Centre and GL Account combinations during PO creation for specific users/roles?
    For example:
    Valid Combinations:
    CC A1  GL 99
    CC B2  GL 88
    Scenarios:
    Create PO with A1, 99   -> Allowed
Create PO with B2, 77  -> Not Allowed
I've found a related post, but not exactly my requirement - any other thoughts?  Or has anyone done this themselves?
Authorisations - User Profile for purchasing - restrict by cost centre

Use the user exit MM06E005 to control the CC and G/L for user dependent.
to do that - ask ABAPer to create the custom table for user, CC and GL combination and let teh user exit read the combination from the table and give a error or warning based on your requirements.
