Costing in cProjects

Hi,
I have defined the project role type and asigned cost to it.Later i hav assigned the resource to that role type.
I am not able to view the cost for Proj Role type in costing tab and getting an errot that cost/revenue rate is not defined forOrg 000000 and cost/revenue not defined for resource.I have the following querries:
1.How do i set up the organization model and do i need to form a hierarchy?
2.Is it required to defined the cost in org model?
3.Where do i define the rate for resource (My resource is a Business Partner, defined as employee)?
Kindly help me out or send some documents for Org Model and Costing.
Regards,
Sarang

Hi Sarang,
Pl check the following:
1. Activate Integration as per project Type - Collaboration Projects --> Connection to External Systems --> Accounting Integration --> Activate Integration
2. Make General Settings - Collaboration Projects --> Connection to External Systems --> Accounting Integration --> Make General Settings
Object Type: Single Object for controlling internal orders; Frame 09; Use cost/revenue rates from cProjects
3. Define Cost/Revenue Rates - Collaboration Projects --> Connection to External Systems --> Accounting Integration --> Define Cost/Revenue Rates
4.Define Project Role Types - Collaboration Projects --> Resource Management --> Basic Settings for Project Roles --> Define Project Role Types
5. Define Project Types - Collaboration Projects --> Structure --> Define Project Types
For the project type that you have selected in step 1 & 2, activate accounting integraton.

Reema.

    Hi Amit,
cProjects has not field to caputure material costs.
You may however, create an additional field and use that to capture material costs in cProjects. You will need to map this additonal field to the material cost field in PS while replicating project from cProjects to PS. I am not sure of how you will do this. See if there is any BAdI that can help you.

  • Role cost from cProject to PS

    Hi,
I am able integrate cProject with PS. A PS project(WBS) is created when we change the status flag for transfer in cproject. But we not able to find any flow of role cost from cproject to WBS. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this?

    hi Sara,
You identify frames for cost collector data overview. It specifies which frame from the object type the system should display in the overview display of the accounting data.
For any object type, you identify frames in Frames per object type in customizing. And each frames will have field assigned to it.
So in Accounting integration Using cost collector in mySAP ERP customing you define one frame which will direct what data to be displayed in detail screen of that object.
In your case the fields for both the frames would be same so that you are not able to see any difference.
I hope I have cleared your doubt.

  • CProjects to IO, IO to RPM - costs not showing up

    Hi,
Having created an internal order from cProjects, I can see the costs in IO.
To start with, costs from cProjects Role-Task assignment is all I am trying with (using role rates).
Simultaneously, I have created the Finance Categories, Groups, and Views in RPM.
I have tried a few juggleries to bring this cost under a finance view in RPM. Not through yet.
I have run the programs that fetch this IO cost into RPM. But the link doesn't seem to have been estd. and therefore, though the program shows all green, it says there's no cost in the db to fetch.
What all should I have completed before I get this through?
    Thanks...

    HI Deepak
Please advise how you got the planned costs to show up in PS.
I face the same issue now.
I have exactly the same settings as you have PS06 on both sides.
However, when i look at ECP in PS, it requests a planning form and no planned data is being pulled through, its just blank.
I am not sure what i could be missing, is a costing model mandatory ?
    Please advise soonest.
    thanks

  • CProjects Planned costs display

Can you display planned costs in cprojects after doing financial integration(Calculated on Role/Task revenue rates) against each phase or task without going into each individual task separately.
Which all options of displaying planned costs are available and how are these configures ?
Is this carried out via the planning mechanism chosen Role-based resource planning or Task Based. If yes, Where do you specify which of the 2 options to choose ?whether you want to choose role based or task based planning.

    Hai Pooja
Costing is carried out in cProjects based on the project roles r tasks.
Reg tasks based cost planning u can assign the required capacity to the individual tasks during the planning of the project structure. This required capacity is multiplied by the cost/revenue rates ti determine the planned costs and planned revenues.
Task is done by a role  - means for example Project Manager specifies which positions are to be filled up - these positions are called in cProjects as Roles(resources for the project). Thye are assigned to the tasks in which the positions are involved.
Check the configuration in - SPRO - cProjects - Connection to external system - Accounting Integration - Integration using Single Object Controlling in SAP R/3 CO - Make General settings

  • CProject, task based costing, strat. 10, plan price for the role in ctr acc

    Hello all.
According to the costing logic described in R/3 library the following strategies are available for costs when using task based controlling.
    Costs for task
    4.      Different costs which you entered for the task
    5.      Costs per activity unit for the task in Customizing
    Costs for roles
    8.      Different costs which you entered for the project role
    9.      Costs per activity unit for the role in Customizing
    10.      Plan price for the role in cost center accounting
Do anyone have experience with using strategy 10?  If so, please elaborate.
Thanks for your help / Anders

    Hi Sejo,
Thanks for your reply, Standalone cProjects works, but obviuosly it has to be integrated with ECC and configuration related to accounting in ERP has to be done.
Scenario is that I have created a Project and before transferring it to ECC(creation of internal order) I should be able to calculate the cost from cProjects, as these are just rough cost based on cost/revenue rate.Later when I calculate cost using internal order from ECC it should overwite.
Additionally as per the link I have already done the required configuration.
    1.     Activate Integration
    2.     Define Object Links for Accounting Integration
            Default entry: 0FIN_INT_SOC_R3
defined RFC destination . Is webserver to be defined - required ?
    3.     Make General Settings
    4.     Define Cost/Revenue Rates
Cost revenue rates are defined here.
I havent maintained Organisation unit as it takes default 'zero'.
    5.     Replicate Cost/Revenue Rates
To replicate cost revenue rates from Cprojects to ERP.
    6.     Replicate Accounting-Relevant Characteristics
    7.     Make Settings in ERP System
Make settings in ERP system related to controlling
            Create and Change Controlling Scenario
            Define Controlling Scenario
            Settings for Easy Cost Planning
Assign Cost Elements and Activity Types > Activity type must be open for period and must have proper cost element. (can be maintained in tcode: KP26).
Then also for Task based costing is not calculating and for role based it is showing Negative.
Please guide me where it is going wrong. Is it related to Organisational Mapping?

  • CProjects and xRPM integration

    Hello Friends,
I am working on portfolio management(xRPM ABAP), i want to integrate capacity management & cost with cProjects.
Could you tell me the settings i needed to do for my reqirement.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Senthil.

    Hi,
    yes, the integration is permanent.
    For Example....
During transfer of work centers from Project System to xRPM, teams are created in xRPM for each of the work centre being transferred to xRPM. One can do this from SAP PLM PS by running the report RPM_WRKCNTR_UPLOAD,
which transfers work centers to SAP xRPM and uses them to create team master data. The team name in xRPM is generated using a combination of plant and work center, because the work center ID is only unique within a plant and can be used again in a different plant.
The resources assigned to the work center are used to create the resources assigned to teams in SAP xRPM. The employee IDs of resources in SAP PLM PS are used to search for business partners in SAP xRPM with identicalemployee IDs.
If a match is found, the business partner is added to theteam.
If the SAP PLM PS work center is created using organization units, the employees in the organization unit are derived during the transfer of the work center and used as the basis for creating teams. If new employees are added to the organization after you have run the report, these employees are not included in SAP xRPM system unless you run the program again. For
this reason, you should run the program regularly (for example, weekly) or schedule it for background.
    Hope it helps you.
    Thanks

  • Display Costs on Accounting Tab in Company Code (object / Project) curerncy

    Hello Forum Experts,
We have this major issue whereas teh costs on the Accounting Tab are shown in Controlling Area Currency.
It seems this is the standard cProjects behaviour.
What changes / enhancement do we have to implement to ensure that the costs are shown in company Code Currency.
For example: Controlling Area Currency is USD.
There is a branch of teh company operating in Gemany - it has its own company Code. So they create projects in Germany and would expect to plan and see teh costs in cProjects in Euros instead of USD's.
How can we solev this problem. It is quite amjor and most probably the foreign comapies will not use the system as it amkes no sense to them to plan / see costs in another cuurency than their own...
    Thank you,
    LT

    Hi LT,
The costing in cProjects is always carried out in Controlling Area currency.
Make modifications in the following Class to display the costing in cProjects in Company Code Currency  :
    1) Class: CL_GUI_EASY_COST_PLANNING
    Method: CONSTRUCTOR
Here set Object currency "1" as Default .
    2) Class CL_R3_OLR3_INTERNAL_ORDER
    Method GET_REPORTING_DATA

    Hi Rama,
It is difficult to say, where the problem is.
but typically, the causes of the problem are
customizing is  set incorrectly or the evaluation is not carried out.
You can run the the evaluation DPR_EVE_BATCH_DPO additionally, please untick the flag 'check the last changed date'.
    Hope, it helps.

  • Doubt in cProjects

    Dear Experts,
I am new to cProjects, I am already working as PS consultant. I have some doubts about cProjects
    1. Is cProjects is an add-on component to SAP ERP?, If so, do we need to order it to SAP or can we download it from SAP service market place? How much it costs?
    2. Does it require additional hard ware? like separate Server interfacing this server to SAP ERP server?
    3. Whats the exact use of cProjects? Why should I use cProjects in addition to the SAP ERP - PS??
Please clarify me the above doubts..
    Thanks in advance,
    With regards,
    Praveen B

    Hi Praveen,
    1. Is cProjects is an add-on component to SAP ERP?, If so, do we need to order it to SAP or can we download it from SAP service market place? How much it costs?
cProjects can be installed on top of SAP ERP or standalone. You can download it from the Service Marketplace. It does not cost an extra license on top of SAP ERP Professional Users.
    2. Does it require additional hard ware? like separate Server interfacing this server to SAP ERP server?
See above. For one of the use cases yes. Please have a look at the Master Guide.
    3. Whats the exact use of cProjects? Why should I use cProjects in addition to the SAP ERP - PS??
cProjects is for other use cases than PS, which is typically for larger infrastructure projects. Also it is very much integrated with former SAP RPM in the meantime, both from a technical as well as functional perspective. Please make yourself familiar with cProjects via the online help or the [Service Marketplace|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000668321&] or the [function in detail brochure|http://download.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/plm/brochures/download.epd?context=9DF3E1EE8444A2B2C6D818EB849B3FCB955C43A63550C9EEA4F950FB0A88B006C981CE9A0BF2B231FD8A0011A4104C3C08DEC39AE1A6BA5E].

    Hi Suresh,
maybe you find the following link also useful:
Navigation: Collaboration Projects -> Accounting Integration -> Preliminary Costing and Quotation Creation -> Ad Hoc Cost Estimate for cProjects  or Sales Pricing for cProjects
    From the page:
The cost planning function is executed by Easy Cost Planning (ECP). The cost estimate is always created at project level and is always single-level. The organizational data relevant to costing (controlling area, company code, and master cost center for the derivation of the activity type under which the allocation is reported) is derived from the HR organizational unit specified in the project definition. The costs are calculated based on the rates for the resource, project role, or task. For more information, see Costing Logic.
The revenues are calculated automatically if you have selected the option Use Cost/Revenue Rates from cProjects or Use Sales Pricing in SAP ERP as the revenue calculation type for the project type that you are using for the project. You make this selection in Customizing for Collaboration Projects, by choosing Connection to External Systems -> Accounting Integration -> Make General Settings. With the last option, the revenues are calculated with the dynamic item processor (DIP). For more information, see Sales Pricing for cProjects. Then you can also call up sales pricing from within the ad hoc cost estimate.
You can archive the ad hoc cost estimate in SAP ECC (archiving object CO_ECP) if the project has the status To Be Archived.
Technically, the ad hoc cost estimate is saved in SAP ECC with reference to the cProjects project number. When the project is transferred, it is recosted and the cost estimate stored for the account assignment object.
    Hoping this helps...
    Best regards,
    Thomas

  • Material Cost Planning in cProjects (4.0)

    Hi Gurus
I'm new to cProjects and PS.
My project has a Phase which I created as a "Material Acquisition Phase". Effectively I need to source Materials for my Project and would like to record this in cProjects.
Is it possible to record the planned cost for this Material in cProjects or is this only possible in PS.
The phase has a WBS Element attached to it.
If it is possible, what are the steps required to make it work.
    Many Thanks in advance
    Panduranga

    Hi Panduranga,
In cproject, you cannot Plan for Material Purchase. cproject is a estimation tool where in we can estimate the resource cost on role-based.
Through Cproject and PS integration, you can get the same task "Material acquistion" in both cproject as well as in PS.
In PS only, we can plan value for material acquistion where the value will take from Material master same will not happen in cproject as it doesnot have link to R/3 Marial master.
Hope you understood the concept clearly.
    Thanks and Regards
