Creation of release order possible during release strategy

Hi folks,
we have currently contract and purchase order release strategy parallel in place. Both are working fine.
We are using quantity and value contracts.
Quantity contracts are changed frequentely by the business; with every change (adding new items, changing prices of existing items), the release strategy is pulled again.
Our release indicator is set to 6 and has value change 0,00%.
The business requirement is now to release a contract with status X (e.g. 10 items and a total item value of 10.000EUR). After release, call offs can be created for all the released line items.
If a new line item 11 is added, it should still be possible to create call offs for item 1-10 but not for item 11.
Item 11 should undergo a new release.
Has anyone ever come across such requirement?
I have tried version management. However, version management will only force a new release whenever the version is completed.
Even then, the complete contract is subject to release strategy and it is not possible to create call offs.
We dont want to set error message ME347 "Release orders against contract xxxx not possible (contract not released)" to warning, as this will allow to always create call offs regardless of the contract  being released or not.
Any ideas greately appreciated.
Thanks!!

I suppose program checks in EKKO whether contract is released,, irrespective of version exist it or not. IF you are able to direct it to EREV, then may be version 0  or ( current  - 1 ) released can be returned.
Isn't it a special case that your version 0 data is intact in version 1; Even if someone change lines 1 to 10 , with or without adding line 11, it still triggers version 1. How do you ensure that lines up to 10 are not changed. you may have to look in CDPOS CDHDR with object Revision..
This is  just an idea which you may discuss with your developer to see whether a copy of the program can be modified..

  • Work Order DFF during Release

    Hi All,
We are evaluating if we can populate Work Order DFF while creating work orders from ASCP.
User will select planned orders in ASCP for release. Then the user can enter some field in ASCP.
When the planned orders are released, this field entered should be populated in Work Order DFF.
Request any pointers how can we achieve this.

  • Release order., reg.,

Hi guru's can anybody explain what is a release order? is release order possible for scheduling aggrements?
    Thanx in adv
    tulja singh

    HI Singh
Release orders are POs created refering a Contract. Whenever you have a requirment for material or service you release a PO for the same, when you refer a contract then its a " release order",
For scheduling agreements you can use Delivery schedules , but not release orders. The main difference between Contract and SA is that Contract involves Generation & Maintainance of Huge voulme of documents, while for SA there is only one further document apart from SA,. this is delivery schedule. When you release a schedule refering a SA no new document will be created but the Schedule will be continully extended as new requirment.
    Cheers!

  • Is it possible to release Process Order  with Material Shortage

    Hi All,
We are using PP-PI & still wants to have behavior of the PP prod order
i.e. Release Process Order with Material shortage.
    Is it Possible.
    Regards,
    Jatin

    Hi Jatin,
Go to Transaction OPJK. Select your Plant, order type and Business function as 2-Check availability during order release.
Under Material Availability tab, maintain '1- User decides on release if parts are missing' if user wants to decide for release of Process order or '2-Release permitted despite missing parts' if you want directly the Process order should be released despite of shortage in Release material field.
These settings are similar to PP.
    Please check and revert.

  • Proces order release not possible/Release rejected

    Hi PP Guru,
While process order release the system shows error that the order release not possible / release rjected.
pl tell me what r the possibilities to be check to resolve above problem.
    Bye
    subhash

The Possible reasons could be one of the following -
Missing Parts - Some of the components required for the order may not be available
Missing Capacity - Capacity required for the order is not available
    Error in Cost calculation
Error in Batch allocation to the component materials
When a process order is release some of the functions are carried out in background like Creating a reservation, material availability check, capacity check, precosting......
If something goes wrong in one of the step the order may not release.
Please check the logs during release it will have the clear message.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Creation of Release order with reference to Contract

    Dear experts,
We are doing upgradation from 4.6B to ECC6. During testing ,while creating release order with reference to contract,(Contract was created with Account assignment category-K and item category-D),cost center is copied from contract in purchase order in account assignment tab of item details,
but when i save it window is poping up(account assignment service line item 10-small window) asking to enter cost center again. Even if i enter the same cost center in that window, cost center field, again it is asking same window is poping up for entering cost center.
Can any body please tell me inspite of cost center is copied, why this window is coming ,please suggest. This problem is not there in 4.6B version

  • Release Strategies in Purchase Order - possible values of caracteristics

    Hello,
I have the following situation at hand.
We use in a company code a release strategy for POs. One of the caracteristics is the "plant" (CEKKO-WERKS, multiple values). Strategy is working fine.
Now I have to implement in another company code- in the same Client - the PO release strategy but this company code has about 800 Plants asociated! moreover, the release strategies in this new company are not dependent on the "plant"!
I can not change the caracteristics in the Release strateg because this would affect the already working strategies  and SAP does not allow to asign another Class to the PO release groups.
Is there any way I can prevent that I have to create release strategies with each of them 800 Plants in the caracteristics "Plant" ?
Can I use something generic in the caracteristics field of the strategy?
Thanks for any help. It would save me a lot of time!

Note 493900 - FAQ: Release Strategy
    1. Question :
Why is the release strategy not determined?
    Answer :
Please check the following points :
You can not use Release without classification and Release with classification.
If there is an entry present in Release Group table (T16FG-FRGOT) only release with classification can be used.
If you use version management, the determination of the release strategy starts when the version is completed.
You complete a version by setting the "version completed" indicator in the version tab.
Cost Center values (CEBAN-KOSTL) and Vendor values (CEBAN-LIFNR) in the release strategy characteristics should be entered with leading zeros.
This is true for the other structures as well (CEKKO and CESSR). See note 52225.
For OVERALL RELEASE (purchase order and purchase requisition) the item fields such as Plant and Material Group will be aggregated to header level.
For example you use Plant as one of your characteristics. If all items do not belong to the same plant then the relase strategy will not be found unless you have maintained a blank value as one of your allowed values for the characteristic Plant. If all items belong to the same plant then that plant is aggregated to the header; if one or more is different then a blank is aggregated to the header. See note 47089.

  • Vendor block code for release order creation but no purchase order creation

The client has a vendor block code which when applied to a vendor through vendor block screen should allow release order creations against existing contracts and ARC but it should not allow purchase order creation. However, it is allowing purchase order creation also. Can anyone tell how to achieve this selective treatment that allows RO creation against existing contracts and ARCs' but no PO creation.
Are there any settings or configurations that have to be made in SPRO and other areas to achieve this.I would appreiate if anyone could give in a detailed and step wise solution.

    Hi
Take out all the blocks on company code and purchasing organization in XK05.
Only put block function as 01 (purchase order). It will not allow you to create purchase order but you can create contracts and release orders against contracts.
    Thanks

  • MM:Release Strategy for Release Order again Approved Contract

    Hi,
Release strategy for Release Order is required or not against approved contrat??
As fas as I know once the contract is approved, release order is not required to approve again.
This is the standard setting from SAP or We need to do some setting for this??
In my support project I have studied the release procedure and found that, same release strategy and release Group has been used for Purchase Order and Contract.
Please let me know if anyone have faced this rquirement  or I have to go for Z development for this requirement.
    Thanks you.

    Hi Lalita,
Thank you for your quick suggestion.
yes definitely the release stratergy and release group should be set up separately but here both are same
that is the reason this is  picking of the same release procedure again evenif the contract is approved.
we have following release characterstic for the release procedure.
    1) Purchasing Group
    2)Total Net Order Value
    3)Order Type
    4)Purchase Organisation
    5)Material Group.
I think for the above characterstic we must a separater value for PO and Contract but Currently all are merge
    in this only
But Can you tell me "Release Order should be subjected to release procedure" this is correct or not .
If yes then what is the base for this, I mean is it working on the concept that " If do relevent
release characterstic value is found then no release procedure and this is treated as autorelease in sap"
    Thanks you.

  • Control availability check during release of production order

    friends,
Can you guys help me find the user exit/BADI which will allow me to control the release of production order after the availability check is complete.
In detail, the scenario is that : based on a flag on material master, I should be able to ignore this product's availability during release. I cannot change the availability check to "KP" ( No check) as this product can be sold seperately. So what I thought was that if I get to control the availability check during production order release I would be able to ignore this product before check or may be after check and before the status change.
I found PPCO0021 exit and function module EXIT_SAPLCOZR_003 which is actually intended for release control for automatic batch determination. I am not sure if I can use this.
Please let me know if you guys have any idea.
    Thanks
    Prod_Planner

Let me rephrase the scenario :
I have a production order for a product P1 which consumes raw materials R1 and R2. R1 is supplied by a nearby vendor every 1 hour to my plant so I do not need to worry about the availability of it when releasing the order but R2 availability should be taken into consideration. So, function 1 or 2 in OPJK will not work (as release need to be stopped if R2 not available) hence I will be using 3. If I use 3, R1 availability is also considered hence the whole order is not released. I will maintain a flag on material master so if R1 has flag, I need to ignore R1's availability but still considering R2.
As mentioned, I found PPCO---21 which could help me but need your help to understand if there is any other way.
    Thanks

  • Error during release of production order - AFS Specific

    Hi SAP gurus,
Iam getting error during release of production order in AFS specific system during COHV transaction. Error is ''Error calling ATP server'' and message no is AG022. But when we read the PP master data then this error is cleared and production order is released.
    Thanks & Regards,
    N. Laxman

    hi
    1. When mass conversion of AFS planned order to production order is performed via COHV, the resulting production order does not contain the SKU details of the component.
    2. When a planned order is converted to a production order & an ATP is carried out on the production order, Message no.AG022 - 'An error occurred during Remote Function call on the ATP Server' is issued by the system.
so you need to use the note 1087613.
read the note and apply with the help of technical team ABAP and BASIS

  • Release Strategy for Release Order

    Hi,
We want to give release order (PO in reference to contract) authorization to dept managers.  How do we set up release?  Characteristic Cost center? If yes, do we need to create seperate strategy for each dept or what?  Thanks.

    Hi,
With reference to option 1 (authorisation), please remember that there's an option to grant auth. for creating contract releases, but not PO's without ontract in ME21(N).
For this, the functional auth. for buyers is provided in IMG (Purchasing > Authorization Management > Define Function Authorizations for Buyers.
Select all the flags as required and assign the code (e.g. 01 as in standard) to the involved users using the parameter ID EFB. In this case it is also approriate to disallow the users to change their own parameters.
