Creative Cloud Desktop network connectivity

This post is more a suggestion for future versions of this product.
I've been using Creative Cloud Desktop on my Mac laptop running the most recent version of OS X. I've noticed that whenever my laptop goes into sleep mode, network connectivity is lost. THis is normal. But when I resume from the sleep mode, CC Desktop is not smart enough to detect this; so it remains disconnected until I manually click on the application icon on the menu bar, see the message telling me that network connectivity lost, and click retry.
I think this is a minor problem, but getting the app to automatically reconnect to the network would be a nice improvement.

Tried it, but no luck.
I'm on a total fresh installed system (OS-X 10.8), only Photoshop CC is installed but the Creative cloud installer belive that Edge Reflow and Inspect also are there.
I'm runing the system on a external harddrive, and on the internal both Photoshop CC and the Edge programs are installed.
I would realy like to install both programs on this new fress system install, so I can get to work with them.

  • Creative Cloud losing network connection/deleting files

My team has been using Creative Cloud since June 2014.  We work off of macs running OS Mavericks and use an internal server.  For months now we have experienced errors mostly in InDesign where we lose our network connection, InDesign crashes, and our files either delete or revert back to the original version despite multiple saves.  We have had network and server specialists in and have ruled out any internal connection issues.  Could this be a Creative Cloud issue and are there any recommended fixes?

Force your NIC to run at 100Mbps full duplex and see how it goes.
Check your router / switch ports as well as cables.
I will try 100 Mbps if it happens again. So far, it hasn't occurred after installing the driver supplied by MSI's Web site and not RealTek's Web site. The room temperatures even got warmer like 83F degrees.
As for router and switch, what am I checking for? Other computers didn't have any problems. As for cat5 cables, I already tried another one like I said in my original post.

  • Adobe creative cloud desktop is not detecting my internet connection?

adobe creative cloud desktop is not detecting my internet connection?

i connected with the adobe people through 'contact an agent'.
very helpful, they remote managed my desktop to fix the issue.
apparently something to do with permissions not activated for adobe, not sure how and why this happens though, or why it was fine earlier and suddenly stoppped.
they insisted it was to do with being on a wifi connection but that's not possible because i have my laptop right next to my desktop and that was working fine.
it took about four hours to fix though, so be patient!

    Hello,
Adobe has brought these new links in this matter:
Troubleshoot Creative Cloud download and install issues and
App doesn’t open; progress wheel spins continually
Please have a look there. If necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and if "open" please use chat, I had the best experiences. I quote from Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.

    Any other suggestions anyone???
    BTW Mountain Lion 10.8.4

Thanks Beverley, I will try the steps there.
Though I would also point out that you shouldn't need to ask users to do this kind of stuff - if there are known issues with cached user data then this should have been cleaned up automatically by the software update (especially since it seems to have forgotten my previous login settings anyway?).
This is a similar point to the manual Adobe application cleaner tools that staff often ask users to run - these really shoudn't be needed if software is written correctly.
In reference to the article you linked to, this seems to have been fairly hastily cobbled together. Solution 1 has "Delete the opm.db file." as it's sub-heading (?) but the steps involve renaming the file, not deleting it. This may sound like a minor gripe but I started searching the whole of my C: drive before realising the steps showed the filepath, and that renaming was required rather than deletion. In Solution 2, point 1b states "Choose an Adobe Creative Cloud and click Uninstall/Change." - I'm sure I don't need to point out the glaring grammatical error here.

  • Error Code 201 and 213 when trying to install any Adobe application / Update my Creative Cloud Desktop App. Have tried troubleshooting with Online Chat Agents, no luck.

I have been trying for 2 days now to get this resolved.
Computer hashard wired internet connection, running Windows 7 Home Premium. No other issues with downloading or uploading from any other sites or programs. No other network issues reported on other computers.
It started when I went to install Lightroom through my Creative Cloud. It prompted me to update my Creative Cloud Desktop App, which I went to do and then promptly got Error Code 201. I restarted my Creative Cloud and then skipped the update, hoping it was just an issue with that specific download. I clicked to install Lightroom and the same thing happened, Error code 201.
I restarted my machine, and tried again. Same issue.
I contacted Support. They had me go in and change a bunch of folder names to and add "old" to the end of them and then had me try using the Adobe Cleaner tool, which did not work. He had me go in and change some internet settings, still nothing. Same issues as before, only now with all the renaming of things I cannot even open programs I had previously been able to open like Photoshop.
He instructed me to reinstall the CC Desktop App because the Cleaner tool was not recognizing that it existed anymore (probably something to do with renaming files.. just saying) and now I get the 201 Error when I try to reinstall the CC Desktop App.
I ran out of time and had to stop after being on with them for over an hour.
Today I contact back and was instructed to create a new user account on my computer and try downloading and installing the application in the new user. Same errors. 213 at first, restarted my computer and then got Error Code 201 again.
I am getting really frustrated and really behind on my work. Any information someone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Currently waiting for a chat person to be available again.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Meowia for Error 201 please see Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html.  Error 213 indicates there was problem locating the update or an incorrect URL.  The troubleshooting steps are still the same as both errors are related to failure of the current network connection.

  • I installed creative cloud desktop app and my apps wont download

  • Is there a way to temporarily ignore the Creative Cloud Desktop update? i.e. Mobile data use

I am a mobile tablet user (Windows 8).  I am connected via mobile data wifi sometimes, and I need to grab a font or make a quick update to an Illustrator or InDesign project with a new font etc.  The problem is that when a Creative Cloud Desktop update is available, it forces you to update.  This can be slow and expensive over a mobile network.  Is it possible to ignore an update temporarily so that you can function without the update?  Quite frankly the Creative Cloud Desktop application seems to have an update every three to four days --- Makes it bothersome.

    Hi WarithNiallah,
Please follow the below mentioned steps:
    Windows: C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPref.dat and rename it.
Mac: Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterinventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPref.dat and rename it.
Now there should be no update prompt.

  • When I start Creative Cloud Desktop it can take up to 15 or 20 minutes for the screen to populate~

I'm not sure what to do -

    Pete,
When you click on Apps tab, the Creative Cloud desktop application does bi-direction process.
It will have to scan through your system to update the status of installed applications whether they are up to date or not ? ........etc
.Delay due to this case  is very rare because of  System related issues .
On the other hand mainly it will be due to Network connectivity issue , it has to retrieve information from Adobe Cloud server.
if you are using Wireless / Wifi connection , connect the Computer with Wired Ethernet connection and try to load Apps list.
Creative Cloud access requires steady Internet connection, even though wireless netwoek has good speed , the signal reception will be non-linear. pretty common in Wireless/ Wifi connections.
If you are already using Ethernet connection.
Just for confirmation purpose , disable Anti -Virus and Firewall temporarily and check whether there is any change in load time for Apps menu in Creative Cloud application ?

  • Creative Cloud Desktop on Mavericks logs out and has a red exclamation point.

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro with OS Mavericks on it. Since then, I can log into Creative Cloud desktop with no issues and use the app. But once my laptop goes to sleep and I wake it up, I will have a red exclamation point on the icon in the menu bar. If I click on the icon in the menu bar it will tell me the problem is with apps and if I click on apps it will eventually update and the red exclamation point will go away. But sometimes, when I click on the creative cloud icon in the menu bar it will say there is a problem with the connection and allows me to retry which will eventually get me back in or sometimes it will have just logged me out and I have to log back in.
It never did this before, I was able to just log in once and it would always be logged in and no network problems.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

I had similiar problem and i just stopped using Creative Cloud desktop. There's lot of other issues with that application that cannot be fixed since July.
I doubt that this application was created by some who ever worked on Mac. That's why i would recommend patience and disabling launching at start.

  • Unable to download using the Creative Cloud desktop

When I try and download applications I get the following message: "Installation Failed.  Unable to reach Adobe servers. Please check your internet connectivity, firewall setting, and then try again."
I am definitely connected to the internet and have disabled the firewall but still have them same issue.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the creative cloud desktop.
    Operating System: OS X 10.8.4
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Penny,
    Welcome to the Community!
Please check the hosts file in your Mac and delete all the Adobe entries from the hosts file. Location is as follows:
    Finder>> Go>> Go to folder>> /etc>> Hosts
Open the hosts file with Textedit and delete the Adobe entries (If available)
Once you have deleted the Adobe entries from the hosts file launch Adobe Creative cloud.
If the issue is still not resolved then please check http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html for further troubleshooting.
    Thanks!

  • Anyone have constant freezes when the Creative Cloud Desktop App is running?

Having a rather odd issue.  I'm on CC 2014 latest versions. Mac OSX 10.9.5.  Mac Pro 5,1 (12 core x 2.93, 32GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 680).
Having total system freezes (no error messages or kernel panic) when the Creative Cloud Desktop App Manager is running on a wired Ethernet Internet connection.  Strangely, I get  no freezes if I use wifi for my internet connection.  If quit the desktop app, the freezing stops, as well.  It's definitely locking up due to contacting Adobes servers in the background,
I did notice lots of errors by the Creative Cloud Application manager in the console, but apparently they are benign when using wifi.  I'm guessing there is some kind of network conflict at play here, but I have no idea what Creative Cloud is doing in the background when contacting Adobes servers repeatedly.
Anyone else seeing anything like this?
Using wifi is an okay workaround, but I'd rather be on gigabit Ethernet.

Hi Elba, Thank you for your time and effort in researching this. Unfortunately, the above method you describe is more than a little awkward. When one shows the Downloaded window, as you illustrate, that greys out all the individual categories. So, if I were looking for brushes, I'd have to check if I already had it by going to the downloaded window, then navigate back to brushes by first going to Featured or Recent, and then to Brushes, (even All Categories is not clickable, though it looks active). I'd also need to have a very, very good memory, or be going back and forth very often, with how close some brushes appear, and how similar their names are.
Instead, in a browser window, I go to my library from my adobe.com page, so I can see what brushes I have while the window where I can download brushes is open:
However, this still seems awkward to me. Adobe could grey out the icons to indicate they had already been downloaded, while still allowing them to be clickable and downloadable. I guess more code would be needed. I see examples of this every day in both Apple's app store, and Google's play store. For that matter, even the Adobe CC desktop app itself informs me of what Desktop Apps I have installed on each computer, and even whether they need to be updated. I guess, though, the situation for all of those is a bit different, not being quite so cloud-based.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud App Cannot Connect to Server

After updating the Adobe Creative Cloud update manager, I can no longer log on to the server.  I assume that since the App Manager disappeared after the update, the new Adobe Creative Cloud app replaces it.

    Hi Blaylockimagery,
What is the exact error message you are getting? If I understand correctly you were able to update Adobe Application Manager to the Creative Cloud desktop app but the desktop is not working because of a server error. That right?
