Crystal report 11 - duplex printing ???

Hi, I have a problem with duplex printing. Our printer supports duplex printing. When I print a document from Windows7, the printer prints on both sides of the sheet - that is correct, but when printing from our information system (information system used CR11 to display reports), the printer prints each page of the document on a separate sheet - so it is not duplex.
How can I solve this problem? something has to be set in the report design?
Thanks

  • Page Not Found Error when clicking on Crystal Report Viewer print icon

    Hi,
        I am working with ASP.NET 2.0 and crystla reportXI release2.
        I am getting "Page Can not be Found " error when clicking on Crystal Report Viewer print icon.
        Could you please tell me how to get rid of this error?
    Regards,
    Smitha

    This sounds like a postback issue. Does your application handle postback by putting the report in session?
    There is a [sample|http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/en/CrystalReports_dotNET_SDK/crsdk_samples_aspx/data/crsdk_net_tutorials_115_en.zip] to look at on our website. It was created with Crystal Reports XI R2 and Visual Studio .NET but the code will be the same.
    A short pseudocode would be something like this:
    Dim rptDocument As ReportDocument
    If Not Me.IsPostBack or Session("Report") = Nothing Then
    rptDocument = New ReportDocument
    rptDocument.Load(sGlobalPath & "\myreport.rpt";)

  • How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex

    Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
    How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
    I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run
    Private myReport As ReportDocument
    myReport = New ReportDocument()
    myReport.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperA4
    myReport.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait
    myReport.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex. Vertical
    myReport.PrintToPrinter(3, False, 0, 0)
    In my VB6 Project that I am converting to VB.NET when I added Report.PrinterDuplex = crPRDPVertical, this allowed me to view the report and then print with Duplex without having to set the Print Preferences manualy
    I found 1386475 - How to set printer name and print job title at runtime using Report Application Server SDK for Visual Studio .NET
    But this causes errors
    Imports CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc
    Imports CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers
    Dim boReportClientDocument As ISCDReportClientDocument
    Dim boPrintOutputController As PrintOutputController
    Dim boPrintReportOptions As New PrintReportOptions

    You can mix both engines, just declare them both with different report object names. Here's all of my references:

  • Crystal Reports Duplexing issues after upgrading to SP5

    Our Application Software Vendor uses Crystal Reports XI as their reporting tool.  Recently we upgraded our application software which included upgraded from CR XI SP3 to SP5.  Since then we've experianced problems printing some of the reports in DUPLEX mode.  All our printers are set up to print DUPLEX by default.  Since they upgrade, many of our reports have begun to print SINGLE SIDED even though EVERYTHING should print in DUPLEX.  This only occurs if the report is to print to the users DEFAULT printer.  If the user changes printers before running the report, it prints correctly in DUPLEX mode. I opened the reports in the CR designer and changed the preinter setting to select the DEFAULT printer.  This worked in a couple of instances, but not for most of the reports.  Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I create all Crystal reports using the HP III driver as the designeted printer and have for 10 + years.. It is the generic HP driver  Seems to solve alot of printer problems that i have encountered reqardless of what printer they are actually using.
    This is not used to replace the users print driver, just within the actual creation of the Reports.
    Good Luck.

  • Gray color background in PDF exported from Crystal Report not printing correctly in Digital Printer (CMYK)

    I am processing a crystal report on RAS server,and exporting it to PDF, using the RAS Dlls.
    Dim Report As ReportClientDocument
    Dim crExportData As New ByteArray
    Dim crExportType As CrReportExportFormatEnum
    crExportType = CrReportExportFormatEnum.crReportExportFormatPDF
    crExportData = Report.PrintOutputController.Export(crExportType)
    A gray background is applied to an object in crystal report, with RGB color code (216,216,216).
    On exporting this report to pdf, the color appears as required.
    However, when printing this PDF in a digital printer (uses CMYK color format), the color changes to Pinkish Gray.
    The color remains gray as required, in other printers.
    Is there any way to make the exported PDF CMYK compliant?
    Please help.

    From the info, I have no idea what version of .NET and CR you are using...
    How is the printing from the CR designer?
    How is the printing to another printer, say HP?
    Do you have the latest updates for Digital Printer (CMYK) installed?
    How does a plain pic with grey background print from a .NET app? (E.g.; is this a CR issue, or a framework issue? See:

  • Crystal Report XI Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

    Hi,
    I have designed report in Crystal XI using paper sieze Letter. Multipler sites are using this application. User in USA are using Letter size paper and User in Euorpe are using A4 size paper. All reports work fine for USA users.
    When Eurpoe users print the report on A4 size paper which set in Letter size, the report is truncated from Header or footer. They are printing report from Application and application is set on Citix server.
    If Anybody have any idea how to setup Crystal report so it can print on any paper size?
    Thanks
    Bhagvat

    Hi Don,
    Please find the below description.
    Background: Crystal Report XI is utilized to develop and view reports with data source from Oracle based LIMS application (Vendor: LabWare). The reports are printed using network printer on US Letter paper for users located in North America and on A4 paper for users located in Europe. The report format is US Letter and designed to print on both paper formats i.e. Letter and A4.
    Issue: When reports are printed by users in Europe using A4 format paper the printer defaults to US Letter paper (in printer preferences) resulting to data cut off from top and bottom on the printout.
    1)      When report layout is select to A4 during developing reports using CR, the printing preferences changes to A4 when printed and vice versa for Letter format. How can we avoid CR to enforce from changing printing preferences?
    2)     According to Citrix engineers in the company, the printer drivers installed on Citrix servers have nothing to do with printing preferences and CR defaults to paper size based on report design. What do we tell them about doing different to resolve this issue?
    3)    Even though a printer preference of default printer on local desktop is changed to A4, the report gets printed to Letter format result in data cutoff.  We have tried this option with several HP printers from few different company locations.
    Thanks
    Bhagvat

  • SAP should retrieve print preferences in a Crystal report before printing

    I would like to submit an enhancement... or a "come back" of something that was working fine before.
    Missing functionality referring to message #88318 opened at the end of January 2011
    Version: 8.8 u2013 PL18
    Description of requirements:
    Automatically select the appropriate page layout in SAP B1 when the page layout has been saved in a Crystal report.  So, the user wonu2019t have to change his u201CPrint preferencesu201D in SAP before printing a document with a different layout.
    Valid as of: N/A
    Business needs: (Please describe the impact on your business, if the functionality is not realized)
    Any people who has to print a report doesnu2019t want to always think about what should be the layout of this specific report and then have to change it in B1 before printing. This is a loss of time, more over when the layout has been saved in the u201CPrint preferencesu201D of the report itself (for example, 8½ X 14 or Landscape) so the user should not have to manually select it in addition.
    The print preview is correct in CR and in B1 but then, when sending the preview to the printer, the printing is not correct.  It is not on the same format.
    Examples: (Please describe a typical example, how the functionality should work.)
    I have a Crystal Report saved in 8½ X 14 format.
    I preview it within Crystal Report --> Ok
    I send it to the printer via Crystal Report --> Ok
    I preview it within SAP --> Ok
    I send it to the printer via SAP --> THIS SHOULD BE PRINTED THE WAY IT IS PREVIEWED
    Current Workaround: (Please describe the workarounds you are using at the moment)
    The users have to change their print preferences in B1 before printing the report !  This is a loss of time !
    Proposed solution:
    SAP should take in consideration the printing preferences saved in Crystal, so it will print the report accordingly to the print definition, using the appropriate tray. Since the print preview is okay, it should print that way.
    This was working fine in 8.8-PL11u2026

    Thank you for your reply. It works in this specific report.
    But we have both PLD and Crystal Report in the system, changing the settings means the PLD will lose their watermark...
    Also, I don't know how the Draft is displayed, but when select Print Preview for Draft, it's asking for parameter (DocEntry), which I have setup a DocKey@ in Crystal Report and set it in the Selection Manager. Does SAP provide DocEntry in Draft Invoice (ODRF) the same way as in Invoice (OINV)?
    Thanks,
    Grace

  • SAP B1 Collection Report's crystal report layout printing format

    Hi all,
    We're having an issue in Crystal Report fro SAP Business One - for the Collection (aged-debt) report.
    The report is basically doing the following when previewing it in SAP Business One.
    It prints the header information etc on the first page and then the detailed information filling up the page as expected - it then prints more lines (not filling up the page - maybe 10 lines or so) from the detailed section to the second page (without any headers etc) - then the third page contains headers again with the detailed line data and the fourth then has a couple of lines but without any header data - and so on...
    We've checked the standard page settings - all looks fine.We've checked the section expert - again can't see anything particularly bizarre. It's as though Crystal thinks the page is actually ending someway down the second page!
    Has anyone come across a similar scenario and what would be the solution to this sort of issue?
    Many thanks,
    Mohsen

    Hi Mohsen,
    You may check Selection Expert - Paging tab to see if they have been changed. What is the setting for Report header and Page header?
    Thanks,

  • Crystal report layout printing issue

    Hi Experts
    I have a bit of an urgent issue which I can't seem to solve.
    I have created a print spec using crystal reports 2008 sp3.  I am trying to print it using an epsom dot matrix printer which is brand new. When I print from crystal reports itself, I have managed to get it printing perfectly. However, as soon as I run it through SAP, the orientation either goes out or it only prints 3/4 of the width of the page and to much as far as the being goes...
    There are other print specs which have been created using pld which print fine.
    Does anyone know the solution to this issue?

    Hi,
    To print Crystal report correctly on dot matrix printer is really a challenge for B1. You have to try everything possible to make it happen. Try search the forum first. There are quite a few discussions about it. However, solution is rare.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Printing Crystal Report to Printer from Windows Service

    Hello Support,
    We are currently using 13.0.3.612 version of Crystal report. We want to print the report to the printer from the windows service. For printing the report to the printer we are using the “PrintOutputController.PrintReport” method. At our end on the Windows 8 machine this method is giving following error:
    Message: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
    StackTrace:    at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputControllerClass.PrintReport(PrintReportOptions options)
       at PMLWLibrary.CrystalReport.LoadReports()
    And on the Windows 7 machine the report is sent to the print spooler, however the report is not printed on the printer. Not sure what could be causing the issue. Can you please let us know what could be causing the issue.

    Hi Brian,
    Thank you for your response.
    We tried running the service under the domain user account as well which has access to the printer, but even this fails. Further, from the regular .net application when we try to print the report to the printer, it directly prints the report without displaying any print window. So I assume that even from the service no print window should be launched. Can you please confirm on this.
    We are attaching herewith the code snippet which we have used to print to printer through the service. Can you please review the same and let us know if we are missing something here.
    Dim printReportOptions As New CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintReportOptions
    Dim printOutputController As New CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputController
    Dim rptClientDoc As CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ISCDReportClientDocument
    rptClientDoc = ReportDocument.ReportClientDocument
    printReportOptions.PrinterName = "\\pc2\HP LaserJet 1015"
    printReportOptions.JobTitle = [Enum].GetName(GetType(ReportNames), PrinterSetting)
    printReportOptions.Collated = False
    printReportOptions.AddPrinterPageRange(1, 1)
    rptClientDoc.PrintOutputController.PrintReport(printReportOptions)

    I have crystal reports 10 report file, in which I edited the printer settings... collate and number of copies(2) and saved it.
    now i want to print it from VB6. I am using a customized print dialog form (not using the common dialog control)
    I want to get the collate and number of copies settings from the rpt file. how can I get those details. any API available?

    Hello Sankar  ,
    as you refer to the legacy technology VB6 I recommend to post this query to the [Legacy Application Development SDKs|SAP Crystal Reports - Legacy SDKs; forum.
    This forum is dedicated to topics related to legacy SDKs, including the Report Designer Component (RDC), OCX, VCL, and Crystal Reports Print Engine (CRPE).
    It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
    Also, all Legacy Application Development SDKs queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Crystal Report Viewer Print does not work for IE7

    Post Author: ssdudeveloper
    CA Forum: .NET
    When I view a report in IE7, and click the Print button in the Crystal Reports Viewer toolbar, an empty dialog window opens and no print dialog appears. The print functionality works correctly when viewing the same report using an IE6 browser.
    I have tried changing the browser security settings (as per http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/cs/forums/thread/3171.aspx) - with Automatic prompting for file downloads set to Enable, but this does not resolve my problem.
    Is this a known compatability issue with IE7? Are there any workarounds/solutions to this?

  • Sap Crystal Report Max Print Exception

    In Sap Crystal Report after 60 to 70 reports print report doesn't show. When I set registry value of PrintJobLimit from c# code then exception fire "User can't authorize or permit for edit".

    Hi Adnan,
    You have mentioned two issues here.
    1. In Sap Crystal Report after 60 to 70 reports print report doesn't show
    2. When I set registry value of PrintJobLimit from c# code then exception fire "User can't authorize or permit for edit".
    The second is issue is likely your attempt to resolve the first.
    As Don has mentioned the first issue is a resourcing issue.
    Make sure you close, dispose report object to free the memory.
    Try setting the printjoblimit registry key manually to some definite no... 200, 300 etc. see if it works,
    Also when you say the report doesnt work, is there an error / exception thrown by the app?
    Does this happen to a specific printer?
