Current year Previous Year in Query

Hi,
I have to get the results of current year 12 months( 12 columns) previous year 12 month( 12 columns) in one report.
Once the user gives the current year , how to automatically populate the previous year. The PY varaint can be used for all months of previous year.
Any thoughts on this, please let me know.

As venkat said , using offset is the best option, rather than jumping directly to custom exit variable.
for e.g.
you report display is
net qty.............net qty
current year......  previous year........
bil1
bil2
so u intend to see the net quantity for current year and previous year.
Bring net qty... in Columns in query designer.
Now right click and hit Edit
Now bring in time chara. that u wish to use and want to create variable for.................
for e.g. say fiscal period....
Now hit fiscal period with right click andhit  Restrict.
Go for Interval variable if already exist or else create a new one.
hit okey..
now in query designer in columns copy ur net quantity
now paste there again.
in Second net quantity u can hit edit.
now where fiscal period is there hit restrict
in dialog box hit Select offset.
As ur intention is for previous year, keep the offset value as -12
also restrict fiscal year variant in selection.....
hit okey
test it...
if this doesnot work
then go for custom exit....

  • Get Current year in Query Designer

    Dear all
I don't know how to determine current year in Query Designer.
I have a report, i want to see some indexs in bance sheet and income statement in current year and previous year. but, I can only assign with the fixed year (ex, 2010), this is not flexible. I want to get current year on system and calculate previous year.
Please help me solve this problem
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can use the SAP Exit variable 0CALYEAR for current year. For Previous year you can offset this by -1.
You can refer this link for more Information,

  • Parameter for current year and previous year

    Hi all,
I currently have 2 reports where the query is the same except in the where clause I have it filtered to current year and previous year based on the List_Date. I would like to make this one report with a parameter of Current or Previous year.
Would I create 2 more datasets one for current and another for previous? I would think there is a easier way. Any help or direction would be great.

If you define a parameter in SSRS, you can use it's value in your query. Just make sure the parameter name, and CASE (SSRS is case sensitive when it comes to parameters) are the same in SSRS and your query. There's a parameter tab on the dataset properties.
It SHOULD auto fill, but it never hurts to check, just in case.
Don't forget to mark helpful posts, and answers. It helps others to find relevant posts to the same question.
Yes it did auto fill the parameter tab in the dataset and I get a parameter to enter the year when I preview the report. Still a little confused on how I do current or previous year. Are the next steps what I need to do?
    @yearParam parameter:
    1) Create  Available or Default values
    2) Current and Previous year as label
    3) For Value do I need to use a expression for current year =Year(now()) and previous Year?
    4) Add a filter on the tablix for list_date?

  • MDX calculation based on date logic for the Jan 1 of current year through the 15th of the previous month

    Hello,
    We need some help with an SSAS MDX query based on date logic. One of the problems is that I don't have access to the Cube but have been given a query example with the logic needed for the calculation. Here's the scenario;
The ETL process will run on the first Tuesday after the 15th of a given month. The Analysis Cube data queried should include the current year up to the end of the previous month. For example, on May 19th
(the first Tuesday on or after the 15th) the query should include data from January 1st through April 30th.
The 15th of the month is not part of the query, it is a factor in when the query is run. The query will always be in terms of complete months.

  • 12 month but devided into current and previous year

    hi guys
i have this requirement to disaply amount for current period and previous period for 12 month.
Current period is the period of  user entered year and previous period is previous year
So if user enter feb 2007 u2026Then current year is  feb, jan ,dec 2006
And previous period is   Nov 2006  to March 2006
user is entering the value 0CALMONTH ...and report to need to display 12 month internval betwen years. my problem is how to check the year  and interval
please help me without any custom exit? can it be possible thru varibale?

    Hi,
I think i misunderstood your question previously.
You can create offsets on CALMONTH and achieve this easily.
1)In the columns are of query disigner, create selections for 12 months by using CALMONTH and offset each field by -1 or -2,-3,-4 ..... -12.
    2) Create a Text Variable to show the month Value in column header
    3) Create a structure in columns area and place it below all the CALMONTH selections
    4) Include all your Key Figures inside the structure.

  • MI31, Include Previous Inventoried batches Flag, WHY only for current year

    Hello All,
We are using MI31 to generate Physical Inventory documents and our need is to always generate PI for batches having Stock but Not to Generate PI for Batches which have Stock 0 and are already counted(posted) atleast Once.
Means if a batch has 0 stock today, we did an inventory count now and post successfully, Now for future we DON'T WANT TO COUNT THIS BATCH ANYMORE.
We though of achieving this by running MI31 two times, once for batches with non-zero stock and second time for batches with zero stock.
So, first time, with Flags "Only Mat without zero stock" and "Incl Batches subj to PhyInv", so that everytime PI is created.
Second time, with Flag "Only Mat with zero stock" and WITHOUT marking flag "Incl Batches subj to PhyInv", so that a new PI doc is created only if there is no doc created earlier for this batch. This is working well but only wrt to CURRENT YEAR. If there is a PI doc for this batch which is processed last year, then again a new doc is created if I run this year which is NOT NEEDED.
Is there any other customisation/setting/way to avoid these extra documents ?? We don't want to print PI this year for batches with zero stock which are already processed in 2010 (or earlier) and want to ignore them permanently.
I hope I am clear in my query.
    Regards,
    Diwakar

    Thanks for the reply Jurgen.
Yes, Archiving is one option but not sure would be agreed, I will discuss the pros n cons for it.
if you dont want to count zero stock batches, then click the button "Acc.to Stock " in the middle of the selection screen and activate the box for only material without zero stock
This will NOT ensure that 0 stock batches are counted at least ONCE which is the requirement. Therefore I am thinking for running them separately.
Anyhow, it means there is NO solution to IGNORE 0 qty batches which are already counted atleast Once (in previous years)  :(
Can you think of any other workaround to achieve the same (other than archiving) ?
I guess we can mark them deleted and then play with the deletion flag indicator in this program.

  • Displaying current year and previous year's data.

    hi all,
we have fields like doc.no, company code, costcenter, posting date, year etc... in a query.
we are using this query to display data in VC,
how can i display the current year and previous year's data in two different tables using the available fields.
any help will be highly appreciated.
    thanks,
    Rk

    Hi Rk,
You can achieve your requirement using 'Filter' operator. Drag one 'Filter' operator into visual composer story board and drag the output into filter and add condition(Check year=2008) and drag one table from filter. For another table use another filter and change the condition.
    Hope it helps...

  • BEx - Display current year and previous year by day on the same row

Hello experts, need some help/suggestions on how I can accomplish the following please.
We have a requirement to show MTD revenue by day for the current year and previous year.  The desired result will have the following columns
Calendar Day   |     Current MTD Revenue     |     Prev MTD Revenue
    11/01/2009       |      15,131,005                    |        15,138,668
    11/02/2009         |    15,055,345    |                        15,523,762
However, the result is showing up as follows:
Calendar Day   |     Current MTD Revenue     |     Prev MTD Revenue
    11/01/2008       | |                                                   15,138,668
    11/02/2008       | |                                                   15,523,762
    11/01/2009       |      15,131,005 |
    11/02/2009       |      15,055,345 |
The number of rows for Calendar Day varies depending on the date the user selects.  We only want to display the days for the current year with the Previous Year Column on the same row.
Can someone please let me know how I can get the results to display on one line for each day?
    Thanks,
    David

Re: a simple query to show sales versus last year on daily basis/
Posted: Sep 21, 2009 9:53 AM    in response to: Shlomi Weiss           Reply
    HI Shlomi
Create a virtual characteristic in your infoprovider that can calculate the day from calendar Day. In ZXRSRZZZ while adding code for this virtual characteristic use the function module DATE_COMPUTE_DAY to compute the day for every calendar day.
For calculating Sales Current year, create a restricted ky figure with Sales as the key figure. Add 0CalDay to this RKF and create a variable for this infoobject(Eg: ZCURYEAR) that will receive input from the user for the range of dates eg: 08/16/2009 - 08/22/2009.
For Sales Prior year, create another restricted key figure with Sales. Add 0CalDay to this RKF and add a customer exit variable. In the Customer exit code use the ZCURYEAR variable and offset it to prior year in both the upper and lower limits. This should work.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Current Year and YTD in Report/Query

Hi to all the experts here,
I have a report requirements to show the cost in the report for the current fiscal year and last fiscal year filtering by YTD month in the report as below when the user enter the month: 12.2010, the month: 07.2010 is the first posting period of the fiscal year.
                          07.2010    08.2010     09.2010      10.2010     11.2010     12.2010     Last Fiscal Year     Last 2 Fiscal Year
    Current Year           10,000    20,000       20,000       20,000       20,000    20,000       100,000                  90,000
    Last Year              15,000    15,000       15,000       15,000       15,000    15,000       120,000                 100,000
I know that I need to create customer exit to archieve this, but I not sure what to do to get this, I have problems on getting the figures for the Last Fiscal Year and Last 2 Fiscal Year here.
Please help. Appreciated alot. Thanks alot!

    Hi
The Fiscal year/period (0FISCPER) in your BW system must be maintained as starting from 07.2010 onwards then you can try the below:
In the report Filters you can use the manual entry variable for 0FISCPER where the user can input the month restrictions.
Then for the Current year and Previous year amount KFs you can create 2 customer exits for Current year and Previous year on 0FISCPER characteristic where you can set the interval using the values input by the user in the selection screen. (eg. If user enters 7.2010 to 12.2010 you can use these values in the exit code to set the interval for the customer exit variable.)
This way you can have the amounts restricted by the period entered by the user in the report.
For the structure you have mentioned in your post you can have the 0FISCPER in columns and then the KFs current/previous year in the rows so that once you have the Current/Previous YTD as created above, you will see the individual month period values also in the drilldown.
    Hope this helps.

  • Reporting with Time Variance (previous year vs current year)

    Good day all.
I would like to ask for advice and help in terms of best way to make this report work:
Let's say I need to show the % variance between the Total Operating Costs per Gross sqft over different times periods (Previous year to Current Year). The trick is that data must be compared to the same data in the previous year, i.e. if we are in June of current fiscal year, the comparison must be between Oct-June of current fiscal year to Oct-June of previous fiscal year, not the full previous year. The report formula itself would be:
    ([TCO Exp/GSF PY] - [TCO Exp/GSF CY]) / [TCO Exp/GSF PY] * 100
My guess, I could define a static variable Current Year which developers would have to be changed every year. And then create logical columns: TCO Exp PY (where year=Current Year-1)...while writing this, I realized I'm wrong and there must be a more efficient way to do this. UPD: I've also thought about time-series function AGO, but I'm currently testing it, and I'm not happy with its performance...
    Thank you in advance...

    Hi Wildmight,
The current value will be the value you will select from the table like you normally would do. These would be values per month if I am correct. Next to the column with the current value, you create an additional column with the AGO function in it.
Now you will have the current value and next to it the value of the required period ago. You won't need any static variables.
Let me give you an example for the last three months.
    Period CY PY
    jan-08 50 30
    dec-07 40 20
    nov-07 45 25
In this case the value 20 corresponds to the period dec-06.
I hope I made myself clear.
    Good Luck,

  • Standard Cost Estimate Report Comparing Current vs Previous Year

    Hi Everyone,
Is there a standard SAP report that would provide materials with previous and current year standard cost estimates as found within the Costing 2 view of the material master?
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi,
You need to look into periodic reports. Here is the best one to provide the copmarision between two period -
    S_ALR_87099932.
Go into the report & select the costing runs taken in two diffrent periods. You will get all the required results of prices for two periods/costing runs.

  • Previous Year Closing and current year opening Bal not matching in FS10N

Hi for some GLs Previous year's Cumulative balance and current year's opening balance is not same. What could be the reason?
For example The closing Balance for FY 2008 is Rs.125398 where as in the current year opening balance it is displayed as some 65123 in the cumulative balance column what could be the reason. Is there any option for layout change at FS10N

    Hi Srini,
Run F.16 and F.07 again and check.
Or tally your figures with normal transactions only in FBL3N.
And do checking GL balances for all the GL accounts except your vendor recon account and customer recon accounts.
Hope this might help a little.
    Thanks,

  • Key figure comparision between current year and previous year

    Hello collegues,
I have created a WEB Intelligence report with key figure ROI (return on investment which is calculated out of three other key figures (capital, revenue and costs). I would now like to calculate the percentage period (year) differences between key figure ROI - between current year (month) and previous year (month).
Do I have to add coding within a key figure formula within WEBI Rich Tech client or within universe builder.
The key figures were extracted from SAP BW and added to a universe which is basis for WEBI rich tech client report.
    thanks and regards,
    Christian

    Hi Stratos,
so I see - i have to use the variable Editor and then define a measure and add coding in the formula field. Do you have an e-mail address ín order to send you the report and explain in more detail what I would like to see - here it is not possible to upload a report...
    thanks and regards,
