Customer Loyalty Call

So, I finally answered a call from an 866 number I didn't recognize and found that it was from the "Verizon Wireless Customer Loyalty" department where they were trying to get me to agree to leave my unlimited data plan and go to another plan.  She said it would save me $16 / month, but the reality of it was that it would cost me a lot more for data and that I would be forever off the unlimited data plan.  (Her plan would only give me 500MB/month.)
So, instead of just hanging up on her, I decided to ask her why VZW wasn't as loyal to its customers as we have been to them.  (I've been with them for over 16 years now.)  I pointed out three main areas of concern for me:
Coverage in my area is a serious problem.  Even though the map says we have full coverage, when talking to the network people, they acknowledge the area is full of people that have been forced to buy femtocells (aka Network Extender.)  I asked why we were required to pay an additional fee to get coverage that is already promised and paid for.  (Especially since I'm less then 3 miles from one of their stores and Verizon has a huge complex in the city.)
I pointed out the serious lack of Windows Phones and explained that a lot of people want more variety.  We go into the store and see tons of other devices, but only a couple of Windows Phones (and they dumped their flagship device after only a few months.)  I pointed out how badly I am often treated when I go into stores to help other people (friends & family) buy devices because I want to show them all the possibilities, not just Android & Apple.  Later in the conversation, she pointed out that I could get "free" upgrades right now, but I once again pointed out that there were no Windows Phones at Verizon that I wanted.  (But did point out the 1520 device over at AT&T that would be acceptable.)
I had another point, but I can't remember what it is right this second.
During the conversation, she kept trying to deflect the problems by telling me that she was with the loyalty department, to which I kept asking why Verizon Wireless was not as loyal to the customers as we've been to VZW.  She would tell me to contact customer service, but explain I've tried that many times.  I've even tried contacting executives within the company, but nobody seems to really care about the customer needs or desires.
At that point, I think she was completely exasperated with me - I don't think she expected me to explain to her the problems we've been having.  Finally, she just said if I had any questions to call some number and hung up.  She wasn't rude, but I would have preferred for her to actually listen to what I said and try to escalate the problems.  (She also asked for permission to go into my account, which I told her "No!", but she did anyways.)
Now I'm wondering if they'll go ahead and make the changes..... even though I specifically told them not to.  (I wouldn't be the first time.)

I feel your frustration but why do so many only hear the word SUE?    I am amazed of the level of issues that you have had with the device and CS, I have been with them for about 4 years and everytime I had a issue they have resolved my issues rather easily and the device has been working incredible for me.
Have you tried to hard reset the device?

    I bought a 4G SIM activation kit on the advice of a CS rep, who said I could change out the SIM card on my Verizon Droid X (currently in use with a customer loyalty plan) and switch it to a prepaid plan. But now it appears there is no SIM card to switch out. Google search finds several others have asked that question and the Droid X doesn't have a SIM card, apparently. But, the 4G SIM activation kit "Compatibility" tab claims that it is compatible with the Droid X, so what is the real story here? Do I have to send this kit back to you?

    No. Call Apple Care and give them the serial number. They may be able to tell you who it is locked to.

  • Customer Loyalty

    Customer loyalty is non-existent. VZW cares more about new customers than loyal customers. I would like to see a customer retention program since it is actually cheaper to keep a current customer than it is to recruit a new customer. And please do not say the great service is what you get for being a loyal customer. I pay for that great service every month. If you shop at the same store for years then they give you coupons and other special offers. Why doesn't VZW? Customer retention plans are standard for any large business that wants to keep its current customers. I want price matching for other websites. I want to pay the same price for my upgrade as new customers pay. Right now a new customer can get the Galaxy Note 3 for $139 on Amazon. I want VZW to match that price for me since I have been paying for their service for over 8 years. I don't think that is asking to much for any customer that has successfully completed more than 1 2year contract with VZW. Their great service does not in any way make up for this lack of customer retention effort. I pay more per month than any other wireless carrier for that service. Now what is VZW going to so for me so that I want to keep paying them every month for the next 8 years? AT&T is gaining ground fast. I can switch to them and get a new phone cheap/free and still get great service. Why shouldn't I do this if VZW doesn't care to keep my business?

    Lin71 wrote:
    Yes, I said that. I also said that there is no reason to keep paying for that service since AT&T now offers competitive service levels. I believe you missed the point entirely. Customer retention should be a priority for all large corporations. It is more cost effective to keep existing customers that to obtain new customers. Customer retention was the whole point of this post. Focus on the issue not on a single comment out of an entire paragraph, please.
    AT&T doesn't price match either. Their upgrade fees are higher and their throttle their existing customers who still have their retired unlimited data plan. It doesn't look like AT&T doesn't have customer retention as a higher priority then Verizon Wireless.

  • Does customer loyalty mean anything?

    How about taking some action on some customer loyalty. Never saw a company who does just not care about their customers. I am finishing
    up on my second 2 year contract you would think that Verizon would give a ****.

    Surely you can understand why people do not want to pay £200 for nothing?
    I have a similar proplem where I beleive BT have no empathy what so ever for their customers. I leave my current address in one weeks time but my future home will not be vacated for 1-2 months. Both old and new houses will need phonelines for their current occupants to I need to stop the phone to this house. The only way BT will do this is to end my contract early -cost £60 and then I start a new one with them when I move. I do not want to move away from BT I want to keep all my current packages/bundles but BT can't do it. I've been with BT for 50 odd years (yes I am old) but does that matter to them? The future home currently has Sky so if BT can not help me who do you think I will be signing up with?

  • Customer loyalty program?

    I have been challenging Verizon WIreless lately for (in my view) their lack of a decent customer loyalty program. I have been with Verizon since 1999, and my bill/equipment has went from 2 voice-only phones for about $50 a month to my current 5 smartphones (two 4G/LTE, three 3G) for about $332/month. Every time I see a promotion, and I look into it, it is always for new customers only, or it is something I cannot use (like buy one get one free).
    I feel taken for granted, and I would like Verizon to "show some love" for long term loyal customers, and offer loyalty program awards that are not available to brand new customers. Potential examples include service discounts based on years of service, reduced fees for minutes/data overages, periodic bill credits for longevity on your contract, and reduced price upgrades after one year. (It is my experience, with three teenagers, that smartphones only last about 10-14 months, and the Assurion insurance plans add up when you have them on 5 lines...). I would also REALLY like my employee discount applied to my ENTIRE bill, not just the primary line:-)
    (I had a similar complaint with DirecTV, and they gave me a credit for 3 free PPV movies for sharing my thoughts with them.)

    this is often negotiated between verizon and your employer.  please contact them and ask them to trya nd get this for you

    It seems that the most obvious answer is to pay the bill on time.

  • Customer Service called me at 5am!!!

    Why would customer service call me at 5am???? To remind me of my appointment of my unreliable internet service! This has been the most unreliable internet service I've ever had with technicians coming out so often, I'm getting sick of it. I recorded and saved all my call logs and times with verizon calling me at weird hours.

        Hi getyourmammogram,
    I apologize for any frustration with getting a higher bill after getting your plan adjusted. Did you plan adjustment take effect on the start of your current bill cycle? Or was your plan adjusted during your last bill cycle? If you had the plan changed during your last bill cycle, there would be prorated charges moving from one plan to another. To confirm this and view your billing details, login to My VZW http://bit.ly/xB4iTc.

  • Why doesn't customer service call back with answers?

    I called to inquire about changing my plan.  i decided to simply keep the plan I had, but customer service had already taken me off my current plan.  I didn't know this.  They put me back on the plan but unknown to me without the 5 friends and family.  This was in March.   In April, of course I was going over my 700 min.  I called and  was put on a tempory plan to cover the overages but was told all would be back in May.  Well I still did not have my 5 friends and family!
    So as of May 9th I have spoken to 10 people, including 2 managers, an Associate director and a resolution specialist, all were going to  do all they could.  It seemed the plan I had was a promotion, 5 friends and family with 700 min., and no longer available.  A form was sent to the off line"people".  This was not my doing.  I did not request to be taken off my plan.  I spoke to an associate director who scheduled a call back with me and gave me a number to call her back.  No call and the number had nothing to do with Verizon. Today I spoke to a Resolution Specialist,  "A man of his word." he said. He explained that my original plan was given to my by the loyalty "people" and there shouldn't be a problem getting back on it.  I will call you back before the end of the day.  The man of his word hasn't called back.  Have been a Verizon customer for at least 40 years! What is wrong with Verizon? I was angry before but now I am very, very angry.
    Anyone know where to go from here?

        Having your promotion removed is very upsetting crowhollow. I'm sorry you are still dealing with this issue and I would like to find out the status so we can get this resolved and  you can continue enjoying your service with us. Please send us a private message with your name and phone number. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  • Is there a customer loyalty department who will listen to a problem and not just try to stall by suggesting another factory reset?

    I've had an issue with my HTC one since I received it almost a year ago.  Both verizon and HTC have had me troubleshoot the device extensively, even though all indications are that it's not specifically my device, as my wife and a co worker have the same issue.  It has to do with conference calls, and not being able to hear one or more people on the call...other attendees sound fine, but there's always one or two who's voice fades out and trails off to the point of being unintelligible.  This, unfortunately, is a large part of my job, and I have to resort to a non-verizon phone to dial into conference calls.
    I would like to stay with verizon, but you guys really are making it difficult.  Everything's great, as long as we don't complain, but after being a customer for over a decade, you can't even give me an early upgrade?  I think I'm due in October, but this issue has been going on for almost a year...
    This same issue has been reported with HTC One's on Sprint as well.
    HTC refuses to do anything about it, and pointed me to Verizon.
    Verizon refuses to do anything about it, other than swap out the phone for the same model (which won't help)...or sell me a new phone at full price, because I am not eligible for an upgrade yet!  How is this good customer service?
    Is there anyone there who cares about customers, and has the ability to think outside the box, or is empowered to help avoid a very negative c-sat issue?

    What do you want Verizon to do? They did not screw up your device HTC did. And the issues are cross carriers, and across many makes of devices. So shall we blame Verizon wireless for every single operating system update? I hardly think so.
    If consumers, you will note I did not say customers beat the phone maker up over the device failures, they will deflect to Google for the updated software. Hardware with software are supposed to work together. However sometimes it does not.
    Also Verizon has opted not to grant early upgrades. Its their policy and it is their business. We as customers have the option of leaving for another carrier if we feel service is bad.
    Then should I look for the same complaint on T-Mobiles forum? Sprints? Or even AT&T? They are all seeing the issues but are in the same pickle as Verizon customers.
    Good Luck

  • Adobe Customer Service Call - Over an hour on hold. How do I complain?

    I can't use my Adobe Creative Cloud license because there was a "payment error" - I suspect caused by a change of address.  Online support tell me they can't do anything and told me to ring 0207 365 0735.  I have now been on the phone to London for over an hour listening to music with no clue as to when somebody might get around to picking up the phone and it's not even across a lunch break.
    Who can I write/complain to?
    Adobe Customer Support is seriously broken.
    I click on the "Edit my billing details" link on CreativeCloud and all I've ever got is "Error. Please call xxxxx".
    Over an hour on hold at the customer's cost (phone calls to London are not cheap) is completely unacceptable, especially when there is no clue given as to where in any queue you are.
    In the meantime I can't do any work.
    Does anybody have an address I can complain to?

    I've tried that and many other things, which is WHY I want to find a "higher up" to complain to.
    The link you sent was what I originally used (whilst waiting over an hour on the phone to customer support permanently on hold) to chat to a rep who told me he didn't have the authority to tell Adobe to "re-select payment" now that my address change has been implemented.  He spent about 10 minutes changing my address.
    My phone support call was eventually answered after 1 hour 47 seconds and my initial problem was finally solved.  I spent the first 10 minutes with a non-native English speaker spelling out each word of my new address.  This is something I'd already done via the online chat facility, and had been assured was now actioned.  More poor customer support.
    After an hour of music with no clue as to how long I'd have to wait I was greeted with an apology along the lines of "unexpectedly high number of calls". In the 15 years I've used Adobe products I've NEVER had a call answered in less than half an hour (admittedly I've only rung them about 4 times in total over the 15 years) so I fail to see how this can in any way be seen as "unexpected". Because of prior experience I made a point of avoiding the Monday after the weekend and lunchtime. Still took over an hour of a long distance call I was paying for to get a human being to speak to.  This is totally unnecessary. It's not rocket science to build a web page that lets you edit your address or say "Re-attempt payment" instead of insisting customers clog up your phone lines at their cost waiting over an hour for someone to answer.
    After leaving this web site I was asked to fill in a survey. I spent some time doing it and clicked "Submit" to be met with "Our website survey is temporarily unavailable" and a suggestion that I should remember everything I'd answered and send it in an email.  More poor customer support.
    Honestly, after years of this I want to write to their MD and explain to him that this is completely unacceptable in this day and age. Of course staff refuse to give you any contact details to complain to other than a bland generic [email protected]
    Even the forums do their best to obfuscate any entry or requests for help, driving the casual user mad insisting you "ask a question" before redirecting you off to somewhere else.
    The whole mess is just appalling and will never change because there's no way of officially complaining to anybody other than a hired non-English speaker who has no power or access to do anything.

  • Dynamic include in a custom tag, called from a jsp

    Hello, I would like to be able to dynamically include other jsp's from within a custom tag that I create. is this possible?
    in a jsp page i would just write <%@ include file="file.jsp" %> and all would be ok... but if i do an out.println( "<%@ include file=\"file.jsp\" %>" ); inside a custom tag bean then it doesn't work. it just prints out the command to the page as plain text.
    I do understand why this is happening, but can anyone offer me a way around this problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Randy

    That's actually the same result as you get with a normal include - The method I suggested is a dynamic include similar to the <jsp:include> tag, not the <%@ include %> tag.
    When you use a dynamic include, the included page is compiled and 'invoked' as serarately, and the result is what gets included, not the actual source. To get the behaviour you want would require an include directive (the <%@ include %> tag) which I don't think has an equivalence you can use inside a custom tag.
    What you can do is pass attributes from the tag class like this:
    pageContext.setAttribute(<name>, <object>, pageContext.REQUEST_SCOPE);
    and then remove them after the include using pageContext.removeAttribute.
    I'm not certain, but this implies that if you declare your variables with a <jsp:usebean> tag with request scope, instead of normal Java variable declarations, you should be able to use them in the page included by the custom tag.
    *** in the jsp ***
    <jsp:useBean id="myVar" scope="request" class="java.lang.String" />
    <% myVar = "Something"; %>
    // Now call the tag which uses the pageContext.include() mehtod.
    *** end ***
    *** in the include ***
    <jsp:useBean id="myVar" scope="request" class="java.lang.String" />
    <%= myVar + " something else" %>
    *** end ***
    Let me know if it works.

  • Custom Tag Calling

    Can someone describe the process that JSF Servers use to call a tag. I'm writing a custom tag (actually a library of them) and I need one to call another tag.
    in other words:
    instead of:
    <my:tag1> <my:tag2>
    i'm creating a class called my:tag3, that will call both my:tag1 and my:tag2.
    That's the short of it, my:tag3 is actually going to do some nifty stuff on the back end, but thats not required for this question. So, how do I get my:tag3's encodeEnd(...) function to create my:tag1 and my:tag2 in the javacode?
    Thanks for any help.

    I'm writing a custom tag [...] and I need one to call another tag.
    in other words:
    instead of:
    <my:tag1> <my:tag2>
    i'm creating a class called my:tag3, that will call both my:tag1 and my:tag2.Do you really need JSP tags for <my:tag1> and <my:tag2>? A tag is just one way of creating a JSF component.
    Another way is to associate (in faces-config.xml) a JSF component (of type UITag3) with the tag <my:tag3>. This UITag3 will have 2 sub-components, of type UITag1 and UITag2 and these components are created (and added to the UITag3 component) in the setProperties() method in UITag3Tag.
    For example:
    public class MyTag3Tag extends UIComponentTag {
        public String getComponentType() { return "my.tag3"; }
        public String getRendererType() { return null; }
        protected void setProperties(UIComponent component) {
            super.setProperties(component);
            List children = component.getChildren();
            UITag1 child1 = new UITag1();
            child1.setValue("XXX");
            children.add(child1);
            UITag2 child2 = new UITag2();
            child2.setValue("YYY");
            children.add(child2);
    }Geoff Rimmer

  • Why a transfer to "Customer Loyalty"?

    I have been a customer for close to 10 years and I'd guess $30-35K (never a late payment), had a question about an early upgrade due to a phone issue (first request in 10 years) so they transferred me to the "loyalty" department where they essentially told me to pound sand. My question would be two-fold why transfer me and have me wait on hold for a "loyalty" department that does absolutely nothing for you?

    I have no idea why they would transfer you to "loyalty" for a phone problem.  Maybe i don't have enough information...
    What phone, and what issue?  And how much of an "early" upgrade?  Is the phone in question still under warranty?  There are no  more annual upgrades - no more primary/secondary lines.
