Customizing User Admin Role

I am trying to customize user admin role. I copied the role to the custom folder. I made the Import and Activity Reports invisible. I assigned it to a test user. When I login as the test user I get the error saying You are not authorized to run the application. I did assign the user permission in the Permission Editor.
It is a SAP EP 7 2004s install.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Michael,
Check whether the end user "check box" is checked in the permission editor of the role for the appropriate user or group.

Abhishek

  • Problem with using the import tool under User Admin role

    Hello,
I have created a role through the import facility under the User Admin role:
    [role]
    ridpcd:portal_content/content....
    rdesc=my role
Although I have recieved a successful message I couldn't locate this role, not when I was searching it in User Admin or under the pcd location where I asked to create it.
I then imported a transport package from another portal that contains a role in the exact same pcd location, this time an actual role has been created.
The problem is that when I try to use the import facility again to assign a group to this role I get: Error: Role found, but unique name "pcd:portal_content/..."  is not unique!
When I search User admin for this role I get only one and when I go to this pcd location I only see one role so I don't understand this message  and how can a unique pcd location cannot be not unique.
    Any ideas...?

Try performing the import again, but this time do not use the fully qualified pcd path. Just specify the rid without the pcd definition. In otherword if you did a search in the user admin for the role ID you would not use the full pcd:rid just the rid value.
The alternative is to first delete the role and then import again. The reason you are gettign the problem is that the pcd generates a unique sid entry for the role and thus the manner in which you are performing the update using the full pcd path is not allowed. For this reason drop the fully qualified pcd path.

  • User admin role

    Hi All,
I want to assign a user, the user admin role. So I copied the standard user admin role to my folder and when I assign it to the user it gives me an error "NO ACCESS" - You have no permission to perform this action.
Can snyone please explain me in detail how to enable the permission so that the user has all the features of the user admin.
    Thanks,
    Regards
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
No need to copy to any other folder...goto systm admin -> permission -> portal permission -> open the portal content  and then give the full control permission for all the objects for wich u want to give access to end user and then finally assign him content admin role....doing this end user will see only those objects in his content admin role..

  • SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 Error while customizing Standard  Admin roles.

    Hi All,
I have a business requirement of Creating Transport role which should access only Transport Navigational Tab in Enterprise Portal 7.0.
Because we can't give Standard Administrator roles to Users.
For that, I have created a role and added Standard System admin role as role to role and i hide the Navigational tabs except Tranport Tab (by changing Properties of ''Invisible in Navigational areas of System Admin role'')
I have assigned this role to a user. and i have also given read/write permission to folders and in security zones. Export is working o.k and when i click on browse tab in import it is showing-->>
"Unexpected error. Check the log files for details."
I have checked logfiles and i didn't find any thing.
    Any ideas??
Your early response would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

  • User admin role questions

Does one really have to individually give User Admin status to each user
in order for them to be able to change their own data? I was not able to
select a group to assign to the role.
Also, having assigned users to this role, can they then modifiy any
other user's info? (This seems to be implied by the docs.)

  • Read-Only Role For User Admin

Hi, I am trying to implement a role that would enable a user to have the same functionality as the out-of-the-box User Admin role, but that this user would not be able to actually create or modify users, roles assignments, etc.
The idea is to have a 'Display' role - with read-only access.
The solution we are comtemplating right now involves getting the source code from SAP, copying it, and modifying it - disabling any interaction. We would then create new iviews, pages, etc from there only for this role. This is a tedious task.
Any ideas on how else this can be done?
    Thanks

I have only managed to do this by creating a role and assigning the relevant User Admin iViews to the role and then changing the End User Permissions on the role.
I assigned the ReadAll Premission. That did the trick for me.
Groups unfortunately require the manage_groups Permission, so we do not allow the viewing of groups.

  • How to restrict Basis from User admin in Portal

    Hi,
Iam looking to delete action Manage ALL action from Administrator role and add ReadALL so that basis is not given access to User admin in Portal. we already have Manage_All in a role that is assigned to security. However iam not sure of the problems. please advise if there would be any problem in tweaking the Administrator role as these are standard UME roles.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Please try to modify User adminitrator role in the portal.
Content Administrator>>Portal Content>>Content Provided by SAP>>Admin Content>>User Administrators>>Right click on "User Admin" role >>Permission>> IN "Everyone" Group, Uncheck the 'End User' column. then SAVE your permision.
Hope this will helps you to resolve your issue.

  • Request Offerings not showing up for custom User role in SMPortal

    Hello All,
I've created a custom End User role and scoped it to the domain users group.
To this role I want to show a specific set of Request Offerings on the portal
For that Purpose I created a new Service Offering and added these Request Offerings to it.
I then went on to create a Catalog Group and added the Service Offering to it.
I then created the custom user role based on the EndUser role and allowed them to see all Forms, all Queues, All CI's and on the Catalog group I select that they could only see the Catalog Group which I just created.
I then logged in into the SMPortal and was expecting that my Service Offering would be shown to them.
However, they don't see the service offering.
    What could cause this?
    Is there something I'm missing?
    Thanks in advance!
    Filip

You have to add the Service Offerings and the Request Offerings in the Catalog Group. Nesting doesn't work because Service Offerings and Request Offerings are different types of objects.
This offers the option the manage the access to Service Offerings and Request Offerings very granular if needed. For instance you can control access to a Service Offering in one Catalog Group related to one user role (A) and use two additional Catalog Groups
with different Request Offerings related to other user roles (B) and (C). Result will lead to:
User in Role A and B -> Can see Service Offerings A containing Request Offerings B
User in Role A and C -> Can see Service Offerings A containing Request Offerings C
User in Role A, B and C -> Can see Service Offerings A containing Request Offerings B and C
User in Role A only -> Don's see anything because of the missing permission on any Request Offering. So the "empty" Service Request won't show up in the portal.
    Hope his helps.

  • Help required for linking Organization Admin Roles to User Profile in R2

    Hi,
We are using OIM 11.1.2.0 (Without any patch).
    Current Requirement:
We have requirement to provide search capability to end users to search/see users of other Organizations in OIM.
For example: I belong to Org1: UK, So OOTB OIM just support searching/viewing profile of UK Organization users. I can not search/view user info of Org2: Italy.
To overcome this issue,Oracle has suggested us to add both the following roles in order to see user information of other organization.
    • User Viewer
    • Organization Viewer
After just logged in using xelsysadm, I can able to assign Admin Roles of each organization to end users.
We want some API info/ how to automate this assignment to Admin Roles(Which are available to Organization) to end users?
We went through the APIs available for OIM 11.1.2.0, but could not find any API related to Admin Roles of OIM.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
