Customizing Xellerate User Form

Hi.
There is pre-existing OIM form for Xellerate User resource object. The Name of the form is Users.
I know that modifying the Users form is all done through the FormMetaData.xml file. Through this I can, for example, make some requiered fields optional and so on.
But now I want to add something like prepopulate adapter to some fields of this form (or, at least, assign a default value). Is it possible to do?
I've tried to export the tcUSR data object, but I couldn't find where the default values for Organization and User Type fileds are stored...

On any of the fields that are not User Defined fields, you cannot set default values or pre-populate adapters. You can set default values on the User Defined fields.
If you want a value to be populated after saving the form, or "pre-insert" you can create an entity adapter to generate that field and attach it to the Data Object for Users.

How to run process tasks in Xellerate User form sequentially

I have 2 tasks in the process definition of Xellerate User. One triggers on change in department and the other triggers on manager change. I want the manager task to trigger first and then the department task to run after the values have been updated in the former task. It so happens that always department task is getting triggered first.
I cannot have task dependency in Xellerate User form. I tried setting the response code in the manager task and have it generate department task. In this case the department task is triggered twice. First time it runs before the manager task. The second time since it is a task to run in the response code of manager task.
How to make each task run once and have it done sequentially?

Yes that was my first instinct but I need the old and new values of department and manager. That is possible when I make it a process task.
Heres what I want to do-
If there is a change in department of a user, send mail to manager with old and new department values.
If there is a change in manager when department changes, send mail to old and new manager with old and new department values.

OIM 9.1 Xellerate User Provision form

Hi,
I want to add a process task to Xellerate user form and form that is cretaed while configuring Generic connector. But it seems that those are disabled. Does it mean that no modification can be done on thses forms?

Why doesn't default CREATE USER form show a "Check" Page before submitting

When I create a User (using my Customized Create User Form), and I press SAVE, the Form is submitted immediately. There is no "stop-and-check" page, which allows one to review the entries made BEFORE submitting the form itself.
For example : when EDITING or UPDATING a User, and you press "Save", the form is not submitted right away. Instead, a new page opens, where you can review the changes you made, to ensure that they are correct. In fact, at the bottom of this new page, there are 4 standard buttons : SAVE...........RETURN TO EDIT............CANCEL
This is a very good system, because it allows you to check your entries, and make sure they are correct, before pressing SAVE again to submit.
However, the "Create User" form does not have this same arrangement.
Is there any way to customize the Form, so that, when creating a User, and you press SAVE, a "check-page" first shows up (just like when updating/editing a user) ?

Customized Bulk Action Form

I saw that there are multiple unanswered questions about this, so I am assuming the answer is no but wanted to give it a shot. Is there any way to customize the Bulk Action form besides building an entirely different workflow? For example, I want to remove certain fields and add a checkbox which would save a variable into the workflow. I see bulkop.jsp, which instantiates BulkOpForm, so I gather it's not a form that can be modified. Is there maybe a point where I could merge into the standard bulk process after giving my own frontend? I'd rather not resort to reimplementing the file parsing and all that.

Custom Attribute in OIM user Form is not populated.

Hi Friends,
I am new to this Identity Manager Technology. I really all ur support.
I am using oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 version with JBoss server. The Target System is Sun One directory.
1. I added the custom field street in Resource Object--Object Reconciliation Tab for Xellerate User and also for Iplanet Users objects.
2. In Process definition, for iplanet user provisioning Process and Xellerate Users provisioning process, in Reconciliation Field Mappings. I mapped the street field to the UDF(street) and also for UD_iplanet_Street .
3. When I run the task schedular for Iplanet User Recon, the string associated with the field in Iplanet is reflecting in resource profile of the user view/Edit. However, it is not populated in OIM User Form Field.
Can you please help me in resolving the issue. I will provide any further needed information.

Yes. I tested it.. I can see the street field in the process form is populated with the string. However, I cannot see the same in the OIM User Profile Form. That Means, When I go to User folder in Admin and User Console, Manage Users and then select the user associated with the street field, the street field for the user is not populating and is empty without any string.

OIM 11gR2 - custom attribute with illegal binding on Create User form in published sandbox

I think I have managed to paint myself into a corner!
In OIM 11gR2 I have added a number of custom attributes to the "User Form" - some Text-, some Lookup-type attributes.
While customizing the "Create User" page within a sandbox and adding a SelectOneChoice item and fiddling around with its binding, I was distracted by a phone call and the browser timed out.
The binding property on the new item is now not correct and the sandbox has unfortunately been published, and I am now unable to enter the "Create User" page - when I try, I get the following:

Adding custom action to Tabbed User Form

I am trying to view and delete user tasks (such as deferred task) from a user view (tabbed user form). I am able to list the tasks in a separate tab, however, I would like to be able to delete the task using a manual action. I added a button, however, the clicking on the button refreshes the page, and does not get into the Update User workflow.
Wanted to check with the forum members if anyone has added any custom action via the TabbedUserForm where the button (or something) will submit the form for change of user view to the Update User workflow.
Or, if someone has a simpler way - manual action to cancel/delete a deferred task for a user.

It seems I was initially too focused on the VCS API itself, as I was under the impression that the context menu would be exposed through a manager (similar to the Editor API). But it turns out that the view API provides very nice access to the relevant bits and I was able to achieve the desired result by simple listening to view activation and access the context menu from there. It's not ideal as I have to deal with view ids directly, but it works - good enough.

IDM : Customizing User Forms and/or Interfaces

Good morning.
Ok, I do not know if this is the right place to post this Issue. But, I can't seem to find any other forum which deals directly with IDM issues (believe it or not, Sun's Website is absolutely USELESS).
Here's the thing :
I am currently developing an IDM System.
The version I am developing is the latest one : IDM 8.1
I have created the Resources (LDAP and Active Directory), and done the reconciliation. I've performed all the usual and necessary user-operations (create user, edit user, create role, edit role, etc , etc).
In short, the IDM is working perfectly...............
....except for one thing : "Customizing (User) Forms"
The IDM I've created is intended for various users; some have administrator rights and access, some don't; some are mere users, some are Human Resources, some are IT, etc, etc
The point is : I want to create different "Forms" and/or "Interfaces" for some of these different users.
I know the theory behind this : I need to CUSTOMIZE a specific User Form.
I also know that it is not advisable to modify the Standard XML Forms which come with the IDM package. The advice is to copy the ones you need to modify, and then make the changes to the copies.
Here's the million-dollar question : HOW CAN I DO THIS?
I have checked, and re-checked, and browsed every site imaginable --- from Sun, to Google, to Facebook. I have not found a single helpful answer to this question. Everywhere, everyone talks about WHAT needs to be done to create Custom Forms or Interfaces; but nobody cares to say HOW it should be done.
Including our wonderful Sun Microsystems!
Could anyone please tell me, in straightforward terms, how to customize Forms, and how to implement these customized forms into the IDM instance ?

How to call Process Task in AD User proccess definition from Xellerate user

I need a help from you guys.
I have one customized process task in "Xellerate User" Process definition. When my this task executes completely, I would like to call one of the customized process task in "AD User" process definition from xellearte user. Is there any way we can do that?

There are lots of ways to accomplish this. I haven't read through the other posts, but here are a few options.
Option 1 - Create a second task that also triggers at the same time, but set the task you already have as preceding. Then on your second task, write whatever code is needed to update a field, insert a new task, whatever the function is that's needed.
Option 2 - On the completion response of your original task, just use the response code to trigger the second task from running. Then again, write whatever code is needed.
Option 3 - Create a UDF on your user form. Add this field to the Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGERS. When your first task completes, use the APIs to update this field with a new value, perhaps the current date. On your AD Process Definition, create a task with the name you used in the lookup. This task will get triggered whenever the field is updated. Now if the user does not have an AD Instance, you don't have to worry about it ever running.
I'm sure you could create other event handlers as well to do this, it just depends on how creative you want to be.

From design console I try to add my custom attributes to this RO, but when I try to save I get error that it is not permmited.Is this a kinda bug or in Release 2 something has changed and I must define new trusted RO? There is a checkbox "Trusted Source" on the Resource profile. You can select this check box if you want to use the resource object for trusted user reconciliation. By default, this check box is not selected. It is selected by default only for the Xellerate User resource object. Since Xellerate User resource object is OOTB and very critical, it is recommended to use a different dedicated resource for simply used as Trusted Resource Object....

How to add a new tab on modify user form

Hi,
In OIM11g, we can assign roles to a user using a tab named Roles in the modify user form. I want to add a new custom tab alongside all the already present tabs.
The new custom attribute functions the same as 'Roles' in OIM.
Does OIM11g provide any functionlity to do so?

How to rearrange field positions in the user form

Hi all,
I have added some fields to user creation form, i want to rearrange these fields (like i want to keep some fields which i created in the begining and some in the end ) .is it possible to rearrange the fields.If, can anybody help me by giving detailed steps.

To rearrange your User Defined Fields you just have to edit the "order" column in the UDF Form in Design Console.
If you want to put an User Defined Field between the Default Fields, the process is a bit more complex:
1) Set the field property VISIBLE to false.
2) Open the FormMetadata.xml file (oim_server_home\xellerate\config\FormMetadata.xml).
3) Declare your UDF there, just before the line <Form name="3"> (this is the create user form):
(e.g.)
<Attribute name="-1003" label="Country" displayComponentType="ComboBox" variantType="String" dataLength="1" map="USR_UDF_COUNTRY">
<ValidValues lookupCode="Lookup.Country" selectionColumn="lkv_encoded"/>
</Attribute>
4) Finally add the reference to this field to the <Form name="3"> section, in the desired position:
(e.g.)
<AttributeReference editable="true" optional="true">-1003</AttributeReference>
An important note is that (in my experience) this procedure only works for optional fields. I don't know why it fails when I do it with mandatory fields.
