Data mismatch between BI & BW system

Hi,
Recently, we have migrated from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0. All the Objects, Infocubes & Queries are also migrated. Some of the Reports are maintained in both BI & BW.
Let me come to the problem. We have a same Query in both BI & BW system. Same Data is loaded through Flat file to both BI & BW system on a weekly basis i.e every monday. In BI, the query is created from Infocube & in BW it is from ODS. When we execute the query the data in BI system differs from that of BW. I checked in the Manage tab of the Infoproviders in both the system, the number of Records transferred is the same. But when i go in and see the contents, the total value of Records differs, it is more in BI & less in BW. I couldnt check the data with the Flat file.
I donno where the problem is & why the data in both the system differs when the same data is loaded in both the systems. Help me in fixing this issue.
Thanks,
Murali

Check the following.
DSO stores detailed data and Cube stores agreegated data, so never compare No.of records... But the totals should match.
When u said, we have migrated from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0. All the Objects, Infocubes & Queries are also   migrated.
If u have any routines, and migrated from 3.5 to 7.0, u never get right values until and unless u manipulate those routines manually.
If query totals are NOT matching with infoprovider totals, and if u have any hierarchies, due to some reasons data will go under unassigned nodes of hierarchy..so when u filter data based on hierarchy, u have take the unassigned nodes into consideration.

  • Data mismatch between two clients

    Hi,
I have a query on data mismatch between two clients.
For eg assume a functional consultant would have configured intially some 5 custom document types and captured that in a transport request (TR1234) and promoted from one system/client (in my case QG1/821) to another system/client (say QG4/821). Again he would have configured another 3 custom document types and put in a transport request (TR4567) and promoted it. The transport request TR4567 some how did not reach QG4/821. Hence it shows only 5 records in T003 table (document types table) in QG4/821 and 8 records in QG1/821. How do we identify which is the correct transport (in this case TR4567), so that this transport can be promoted to QG4/821, so that both QG1/821 and QG4/821 are in sync.
Similary such a discrepancy exists for custom tables also. I am not able to catch hold of any basis people for inputs on this. Hence pls advise.
    Regards
    Vimal Kumar

development objects can be compared using, Compare the active versions in both the system. (Use remote comparision)
But this you have to maually check.

  • Data mismatch between 10g and 11g.

    Hi
We recently upgraded OBIEE to 11.1.1.6.0 from 10.1.3.4.0. While testing we found data mismatch between 10g and 11g in-case of few reports which are including a front end calculated column with division included in it, say for example ("- Paycheck"."Earnings" / COUNT(DISTINCT "- Pay"."Check Date")) / 25.
The data is matching for the below scenarios.
    1) When the column is removed from both 10g and 11g.
    2) When the aggregation rule is set to either "Sum or Count" in both 10g and 11g.
It would be very helpful and greatly appreciated if any workaround/pointers to solve this issue is provided.
    Thanks

In Updaterules of ODS, Company Code was assigned to Company Code. But in Infocube should  I assign CompCode to Comp Code or any other Characteristic as Master Data Attr of. Plz suggest us.

  • Data mismatch between TABLE and Std. Extract str. (AFPO & 2LIS_04_P_MATNR)

    Hi,
I am getting data mismatch in ECC standard table and ECC standard extract structure. Please help me.
I am using 2LIS_04_P_P_MATNR data source (standard extract structure).
<b>I have following data in ECC Table (AFPO - Order Item).</b>
    AUFNR (Order Number) --> 4000460
PGMNG (Total planned quantity)  --> 0
    PSMNG (ORDER QTY) --> 2000
<b>Extract Structure is showing following data.</b>
    AUFNR (Order Number) --> 4000460
PGMNG (Total planned quantity)  --> 2000 (It should be zero)
    PSMNG (ORDER QTY) --> 2000
I have checked with many other order numbers. <b>The extract structure in RSA3 is showing correct values only if PGMNG is non-zero values. If PGMNG is zero, then it is automatically assigning PSMNG value.</b>
Is this common? I want to display correct values for PGMNG from AFPO Table. Why this mismatch between table data and extract data. I have done  all required steps refreshing data (deleting setup tables, filling set up tables etc.).
pls suggest. Poinsts will be assigned to every useful answer.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Avneet,
I have a similar problem where in AFPO shows value 1000 in PSMNG field and 1200 in RSA3 for extractor 2LIS_04_P_MATNR.
I have found that the standard feature of the extractor extracts the data at the time of release of process order. If the process order is changed after the release then the extractor will not picup the chagne.
Ex: AFPO value 1000 ---BI Value 1000
    Now released in ECC
AFPO value 1000 ---BI Value 1000
In ECC value changed to 1500 after the release. BI will not pickup the change.
Extractor is pulling the data from MCAFPOV table. You can check the values, there it matches with RSA3 values.
I was just going thru forums for the solution. After i found the solution. I am just updating it.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Data Mismatch problem in Production system

    Dear Experts,
We have been encountering serious data mismatch problems with our source system since 29th Dec 2010.
We have realized this mismatch only on 11th Jan 2011. So, we have deleted entire data from 29th Dec 2010 onwards to 11th Jan 2011. Then we tried to load delta again as per our Process Chain sequence. Since then, our production system has become very inconsistent. We found that the entire data from 29th Dec 2010 to till date is started giving mismatch.
Our system got damaged in terms of data drastically. If I delete any bad requests from our Cubes & Data Store Objects, the next time when we try to load data, cube & Data Store Objects is showing the deleted request no. is not updated properly. Because of this, our Process chain is daily failing to complete and giving so many technical errors. We are totally confused to restore our data from 29th Dec 2010 to till date.
Can any one please help us to restore our data fully and Process Chain to run successfully...............?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Suman

    Hi Suman,
I understood that you are using 3.x version of BW
such kind of issues occurs if you distrub the delta sequence by deleting the requests without making them red.
you can resolve this two ways......
    1) Go to reconstruction tab of the DSO and CUBE, select all the req from 29th Dec 2010 thru 11th Jan 2011 and reconstruct them. once they appear in the request tab. make all the requests to red (set the QM status to RED) one by one and delete them from the CUBE and DSO.
This should set the delta status  back to 29th and you will be able to run a repeat delta from then in your next delta.
    2) Go to RSRQ and give the SID or the Request ID one by one that it is giving you ( request no. which is not updated properly)
Mke the QM status as RED for all of them.
Since you have already deleted them from the targets, just changing the QM status to RED will be sufficinet.
You have make the QM status to RED inorder to inform the system that the requset is incorrect one and has been deleted.
Once it is set to RED, system will not prompt any req and say "request no.# not updated properly".
i suggest you the second option.
Once you resume the delta load, it should run successfully.....and if you feel some data is still missing from 29th Dec 2010 thru 11th Jan 2011, just run a full repair load the get the data back.
If your Datasource is of LO extraction u may need to fill the setup tables to perform full repair.
Please let me know if the Datasource is of LO extraction. Also let me know once the issue is resolved.

    Sudheer.

  • PPDS production order dates mismatch between APO and R3

    Hi Friends,
We are facing one problem regarding production order date mish match between R3 and APO systems specific to a product.
The product is planned in PPDS and the order automatically transfer to R3 through online CIF.
PPM has got two operations 0010 and 0020 and activity relationships are like this:
    P(0010) - P(0020) Start - Start relation ship
    S(0010) - P(0010) End - Start relationship.
In PPDS dates are shown as :
on operation 0010 the start/end  dates are shown as  08.15.09 to 08.22.09
on operation 0020 the start/end  dates are shown as 08.15.09 to 08.22.09
Overall order start date is  08.15.09
Overall order finish date is 08.22.09
and in R3 dates are shown as:
on operation 0010 the start/end  date are shown as  08.15.09 to 08.22.09
on operation 0020 the start/end dates are shown as 08.22.09 to 08.29.09
Overall order start date is  08.15.09
Overall order finish date is 08.29.09
The order is off one week (APO vs R3) with start and finish dates.
if we change DS Board settings to ignore internal relationships manually then the dates are matching exactly in APO and R3.
We want the production order dates to be matched without manual intervention.
Could some one please provide some hints on what is happening here and how to correct it.
    Thanks.
    Krish

    Hi Friends,
Thanks a lot for your valuable replies in this regard.
Actually this problem is in production environment and it took some time to test the problem with the master data modifications
    you suggested.
As DB and Siddhrath mentioned, the problem was with routing definition. There is no parallel sequence maintained in the routing but there is start-start relation maintained in APO PPM.
We corrected the routing definition and checked the order dates. Now the dates  are matching in R3 and APO.
I am awarding DB and Siddharth each five points in this regard.
Once again thank you all for your time and valuable replies.
    -Regards
    Krish.

  • Data mismatch between Cube & Report

    Gurus,
I am running a 'Sales -forecast & Commitment Analysis' report. For some reason, when I drill down to the Profit center, Major category & material level, my individual line items do not sum to the ‘Result’ row i.e. there is a mismatch betwen the line iten numbers & the result.
However I checked with the listcube functionality of the cube. I see no fault with the data in the cube.
I also sat with the Basis/DBA guys, but i got to know there isn't any fault with the DB side or with indexing either. I have checked the report, the aggregates aswell. I am not able to make out anything.
    Guru Plz suggest a solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shree

    Hi,
In your query click on the particular key figure and select calculations tab from the properties.
check what you have in calculate result as over there. make it total and see if it solves the problem.
Also check in the aggregation tab for any exception aggregation. in display tab see if any scaling factor is used. no scaling factor should be used genrally.

  • Data mismatching between BW and R/3

    Hi BW Experts,
We uploaded Profit Center Accounting Data (It is a Part of CONTROLLING) on 10-04-2008.
And we run the delta daily, it is running fine....
Yesterday we checked the data for one GL Account in both R/3 and BW Systems, but data is not matching.
There are 4 line items (4 Different Amounts) in R/3 side, but we got only 3 line items (3 Amounts) in BW side.
One amount (line item) was missed.
How can i get the missing value in BW side.
    We are not using ODS...
    It is very urgent.
PLease can anyone tell me the solution.
    Regards
    Anjali

You should do the following checks:-
    1. RSA3 - Extractor Checker
    2. RSA7 - Delta Queue Monitoring - to check what is entering the delta queue
(hopefully these would be ok, if there are not much customisations etc..)
    3. PSA - Check if there are any selection conditions stopping data from coming to PSA, If you find all data here perfect, then there has to be some issue with the staging etc.
    4. If you are on Bi7.0, switch on the temp. storage and then execute your DTP, so that you can check the processing by record.. also check the DTP filters - which might be stopping some data to be processed.
    5. Transformation (transfer rules/update rules) - Check for some routines - start routines, end routines which may stop some data to be processed.
    6. Last but not the least, you should also check if there is some aggregation that happens in the cube which stops you from seeing the data distinctly.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Sumit

    Hi
I am usig GDS based on view.
When I am checking data in RSA3 it is showing me correct data against campaign ID
But when I had replicated the same to BW side campaign ID is showing GUID (GUID is that field from which compaign ID is derived).
Howcome it is doing back calculations on its own.
Moreover data with PSA and View is same
    PLease help

check the contents of the psa by actually going to the /BIC/B* table in se16, not via de workbench... is there still a difference in the data...
does the infoobject you use have a conversion routine?

  • Data Mismatch between R/3 & BI

    Hello,
I am working  in BI 7.0. I am using the generic extractor using Functional Module.
In BI I am doing a full update daily till PSA and using DTP i am doing a delta load to my datatarget DSO. The PSA is deleted on daily basis.
My problem is the Data In R/3 - RSA3  and BI PSA data is changeing.
The netsales value differ in R/3 and BI for particular billing doc no 834268.
The Netsales value in RSA3 and PSA differs for billing doc 834268. How this can happen in Full load ?
Generally rsa3 and PSA value should be same ..is it ? Please advise where the problem lies ?
    Thanks,
    Ranga

    Hi Ranga,
My advice is to compare the source fields in the billing document . goto Tcode VF03 and give input of the billing document 834268 and check what is the net sales value.
If the value matches with the PSA then should be goods to go , otherwise you need to check the function module from the  data is fecthed.
By the way check wheather the delta is enabled on your generic extractor or not. if not enable delta by using changed date field.
    Hope this helps.

    Reddy.
