Data retention limit for infoproviders??

Hello experts
Can any budy tell me how to find out data retention limit for all infoproviders??
Thanks
Sudeep

when you mean data retention - there can be multiple data retentions possible :
1. PSA information - this would be the typical PSA data retention that you follow in the process chains
2. Request Information - this would depend if you are using request information archiving which is avaiilable from 7.0 onwards
3. Information in the infoprovider : This would depend if you have used archiving etc ...
typically the data retentions would be
same as in R/3 for ODS which stored detailed information
for cubes - it would typically be about 5 years or so - this would depend on the amount of data available in the infoprovider and how frequently the data is being used...

I just wondered (especially for UK posters) if there are any data retention issues for supplier (Payables) and customers (Receivables) that must be adhered to for compliance with data protection act?
I am not sure if theres any personal data on a general ledger as I am not an accountant, but with clients and suppliers in Oracle EBS you have names addresses and more which falls into the remit of data protection.
What are the rules around your data retention policies for personal client and supplier data? When do you have to dispose of it? I.e. a one time supplier/customer -- do you need their personal data forever more?

In the uk there are specific legislation around keeping data that stores pii (personally identifiable information) only as long as is required for business purposes (data protection act). I just wonder how challenging that is to a DBA. Take for example an oracle database that houses personal information about HR/Payroll? Do you have to set procedures to delete data of ex employees after x amount of months? Is it practical? Do you have to go through your backups and delete any trace of such information there as well? It seems a bit of a nightmare to my I just wondered how you go about dealing with this issue for any databases you support that process/store PII?While the DBA certainly needs to be involved in these discussions, ultimately it is up to the apps guys to develop an app that properly maintains the app data. There is no parameter "pii_retention="
The dba can advise on how to structure the schema such that the PII is easily isolated, identified, and maintained without conflicting with other requirements, like fiscal's requirement to retain data for several years for auditing purposes.

Your mainly DBA's so I assumed some would know?

An example is VAT related accounting which may require you to keep your Payables and Receivables for up to 6 Years.Thanks. Is that documented in legislation anywhere online? And also what level of data is required, does it included the personal names addresses bank data etc for customers and suppliers?

  • ITunes U: how do I turn off the 50 MB download limit for mobile data connections?

Since I rarely have access to Wi-Fi networks I do actually want to download iTunes U content using mobile data. Videos (and even some slide decks) exceed the 50 MB limit that iTunes U will allow you to download over mobile data connections. How do I turn off the 50 MB download limit for mobile data connections?

You can't unless the phone is jailbroken (which in turn voids your warranty)

  • How to limit ALL data transmission except for WhatsApp in Z10?

Hello, My prepaid carrier allows me to use WhatsApp with no data limits, so I want to use data packs for WhatsApp and WhatsApp ONLY, is there a way to block ALL data transmission except for that used by Whats App?
To clarify more: my carrier debits my balance if I use voice OR data, it is not a matter of buying data packs, or limiting them, the actual limit is my balance.
The reason I am asking this is because my balance reduces little by little EVEN if I am not using WhatsApp (turned off or better said terminated from the apps manager), it is like some other applications (or even the OS) are checkin for updates or sending/receiving data in the background.
Thanks for any help you can provide me with.

    Thank you for your advise,
I have done all you mentioned, but there is something missing in the options I am presented with: After checking App Manager, Device Monitor, I can't find Mobile Data Usage, I only have Battery, CPU, Memory and Storage.
'Data Usage' is available with latest OS update.
You can limit data for email accounts - Edit account - Roaming data control, Mobile data control and wifi data control - limits can be set from 5k up or to 'headers only'.
As long as you aren't syncing files, I wouldn't worry about other settings, apps will only use data when opened.

YES.  YOU GOING TO DO A PLAN CHANGE.  WHEN IT GIES YOU DATE OPTIONS YOUR GOING TO BACK DATE IT TO BEGINING OF CYCLE.    ONCE THAT GOES THROUGH DO ANOTHER PLAN CHANGE BACK TO IRIGINAL PLAN AND FUTURE DATE TO BEGINIGN OF NEXT BILL CYCLE.  THIS ALL CAN BE DONE ON MY VERIZON OR IF YOU FEEL SAFER CALL CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY CAN DO THSI FOR YOU

  • Temporarily Increase Customer credit limit for va01

    Hi,
My requirement is we want increase credit limit for customers for 1 or 2 days in temporarily basic or va01 order release purpose .
I maintained customer wise temporary credit & valid from and to dates in a z-table. How to solve this problem without using credit management FD32.
    regards,
    moon.

Your requirement to increase Credit LImit of Customer for 1 - 2 days based on a Z-Table is not possible in SAP Standard. Also you dont want to use FD32.
Now in OVA8, Under Checks you have three Boxes for User 1, 2, & 3. There are the Enchancement Points give by SAP for you to implement your Z-Requirment in Credit Management.
You Requirement will have to be mapped in a Z-Development, speak to your ABAPer & he can write a code in User Exit which will refer your Z-Table & do the needful.
    Hope this helps,

  • I want to set dynamic customer credit limit for a customer

    Hi,
I want to set a dynamic credit limit for a customer which should trigger during the time of Sales Order Creation.
Can anyone please let me know the settings one has to do to implement this process in the system ?

Hi Below is the whole process for confign.
    1. Transaction OB38
Check which credit control area is assigned to the company code.
       Company code:
       Credit control area:
    2. Transaction OVFL
Check which credit control area is assigned to the sales area.
       Sales area:

    5. Transaction OBZK
For the settings under items 2 - 4, field "All company codes" must be marked in Transaction
OB45, or the credit control area must be entered under the relevant company code in table
T001CM of the credit control areas allowed.

    9. Transaction OB01
       Credit management/Change risk category
Definition of the risk category for each credit control area. This risk category can be
assigned to a credit account by using Transaction FD32.
    10. Transaction OVA8
Here, the individual credit checks for key fields
        o credit control area
        o risk category
o credit group are set. Take these key fields from the above settings and go to the detail
screen. In particular, check whether fields "Reaction" and "Status/block" are set
correctly. To carry out follow-up actions in case of a credit block, the credit check
status must be set (field "Status/block").
    11. Transaction FD32
Credit master data for the payer of the relevant document.

check (static or dynamic credit limit check).
    13. Transaction OVA7
Update of the credit value is active for the corresponding item type if the check box is marked. This field corresponds to

In the pricing procedure used for pricing, subtotal "A" must be entered in a line for
determining the credit value (mark the pricing procedure and doubleclick on "Control").
Usually, the net value plus taxes is used. This way the system is determined to use this
subtotal for credit pricing. The credit price is stored in field VBAP-CMPRE and used for
        update and credit check.
You can find the used pricing procedure of the order under "Item -> Condition -> Analysis".
        Pricing procedure:
        Line with subtotal = 'A':
    15. Transaction OB45
Which update group (field "Update") do you use in the relevant credit control area? The
default setting is "12". If you use another update group, check whether this is fine with
you. If you open an OSS message, please tell us the alternative update group.
        Credit control area:
        Update:
    16. Transaction OMO1
Which kind of update did you choose for structure S066?
In any case, "Synchronous update (1)" has to be chosen as the kind of update.
All other settings will lead to errors.

  • OBIEE filter/criteria limit for AND/OR operations for a report

    Hi
We have a report that has around twenty "OR" criterias and ten "AND" criterias. All the filters are logically correct but report is returning invalid data. However if we reduce some filters then report works fine.
Any ideas of increasing filters limit for a report or reason of the issue.
    Umer

    Thanks Chaknor,
The report i created would not result any error code/msg.
The only reason i put question here is:
My report has around 50 predicates and is returning data without any respect of the predicates i have applied. However if i reduce some predicates (says reduce them to 20) then my report results correct data.
For the time i tried a work around and created two reports using half of the predicates in one and half in two. but i need everything in one single report.
The most important thing is that when i execute report with 50 predicates, the query i get in NQquery log omits many predicates.
Following is what i get in NQquery log
    After removing half of the filters from the report the where clause from the log is given below;
    WHERE ( t120650.patient_seq_num = t120867.patient_seq_num

Is there any limit for records to be inserted in this table...? We are testing performance test and inserted records to this table. So please advise on this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pal

It is restricted only by the space on your disk drives.

  • Is there a character limit for a field in CrystalReports?

Is there a character limit for a field in CrystalReports?
    Hello,
I'm trying to display a long text (+100.000 characters) stored in a MySql database in CrystalReports but CR is not showing the complete text. Is this because there is a length limit for fields in CR?
    Thanks,
    Eddy G.

This is not a great answer, but you can base your report on a SQL Command, then use something like this for the command(MS SQL):
    select
      case when length(table.field) > 65535
          then substring(table.field,1,65535)
          else table.field end as field_part1,
      case when length(table.field) > 65536+65535
          then substring(table.field,65536, 65535)
          when length(table.field) between 65536 and 65536+65535
          then substring(table.field,65536, length(table.field)-65535)
          else '' end as field_part2
    from table...
Then in the report, display both fields where you want the BLOB data.

  • Size limit for files uploaded to htmldb_application_files

    Hi,
Is there any size limit for files which are to be uploaded to htmldb_application_files (and then stored as BLOB in db)?
    Regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
the only limitation is that the BLOB data type is 4GB
    large.
So you can store max. 4 GB data in BLOB.Did you mean BFILE? Depending on the version, size limit is between 8TB and 128TB, as in the 10g2 documentation:
    PL/SQL LOB Types
    C.

  • Extend credit limit for particular term

    On credit management,
If I want to extend credit limit for only particular from-to date, how can i do it?
I know about "credit limit seasonal factor" on OVA8, but this customization can give
only percentage base. I want to extend by amount base.
    BR
    Y.Kaneko

    Hi,
Std SAP provides credit limit to be maintained as a seasonal factor only in %.
In case of amount based maintenance, the same has to be maintained/developed using a custom modification described in [this|credit limit; thread.
