Data Source Activation in BI 7.0

Hi all,
I have seen lot of discussion on this subject in this forum but still having a problem. We are on BI 7.0 and Source System is ECC 6.0
I have activated datasource in Source system and replicated it in BW. My datasources are by default going into 3.x Datasources (R3TR ISFS). I read that it will pop for new datasource or 3.x datasource, it did not happen to me. I do not see any such thing in context menu of source system either.
SAP help documents state that "If SHDS is available for the D-TLOGO object in the BI shadow content, the relevant metadata is replicated in the DataSource (R3TR RSDS". Where can I find this shandow content in BI,
Can any one please help to resolve this.

Hi Chaitnaya,
This way is also not working. I am mentioning the steps here.
1. Activate data source in Source System. It is working fine in RSA3 as well.
2. Replicate datasource in BI. It is getting replicated successfully. No popup for confirming type of datasources.
3. It is automatically creating 3.x datasource.
Is there setting that I am missing either is source system or BI?

Hi Kumar,
The status will become Red and Active/Inactive is disable due to Extract structure activated but data source is not maintained. This happens once you change the extract structure to Include additional fields. Please do the below step:
in LBWE, Click on Data source (Technical name of your data source beside maintainance) and you will get maintainance screen, change if you want some thing or else leave as it is and save, Now the status for data source in LBWE will become yellow and activate/deactivate will enable.

Warning in data source activation in R/3

Hi experts,
While activating the data source 0salesorg_attr it shows the
following warning:

Generating DataSource 0SALESORG_ATTR
The extraction structure V_VKORG_BW of DS
0SALESORG_ATTR is a view. This allows no CustApp.
============================================
I want to replicate this datasource into bi.
Anyone please provide me the solution.

hi,
hope u might have tried to change the structure hence might said the warniing, from RSA5 select the DS then Activate/Transfer then in RSA6 do select the required filed and save.
chk the data availabilty in RSA3 and then perform replication process in BI.

Data source activated in RSA5 but error in RSA3

Hi,
I have activated data source 0CRM_OPPT_H in transaction RSA5 in our CRM system and can view this in RSA6. However when I run the extractor checker RSA3, the system generates error ( "Errors occurred during the extraction Message no. RJ012").
Upon debugging I found that this is caused by not having entry in table SMOXHEAD_S for this data source.
Also when I go to transaction BWA1 I am not able to display this data source. Other master data sources that I activated earlier are working fine. Its the transaction data source 0CRM_OPPT_H or 0CRM_OPPT_I that are having issue.
Please let me know any other steps that I may not be doing after activating the Business content data source in CRM system using transaction RSA5.

Thanks again for your super fast reply. This really solved my issue.
However for may days I have been trying to understand this BWA transaction ( BWA1 and BWA5) and figured out some fact( Like BWA5 puts the same entry of smxhead table to snmxhead_s table to make the whole thing work, Also we can extend the mapping in the BWA1 to include additional custom object with out the badi coding( is it possible?) .
But this area still is a mystery and I would like to have a comprehensive article on this adapter layer and BDOC relationship. Is this possible for you to help here.

I am trying to Activate 0CUSTOMER_ATTR Data source at BW side. Its giving warnings
     'Field UMSAT ( Position 76 ): Packed numbers should have an odd number of digits'
while Activating
     "Error when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCBB0CUSTOMER_ATTR in source system "
     "Error when activating DataSource 0CUSTOMER_ATTR "

try to replicate the datasource and then run program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL for this infosource in SE38.
If this does not help take a look at this forum threads:

should be no problem because it is a content object.

Capturing Data Source Activation in a transport

Dear Gurus,
I 'm using the 0TR_LP_1 data source for my data loading and facing the following issue.
In DEV system , this data source have been activated by one of the developer but not captured in any of the transport request.
How can i capture the activation in another transport so that this data source can be activated in QAS and PRD system via transport.

Hi ,
You can fix this issue by following the below steps.
1--> Go to T code RSA6
2-> Find your data source --> Click on Object Directory Entry
4--> Change the package --> It will ask you for a transport
5--> Save it >Double click on your data source> Generate data socrce
6--> Then transport your data source
On the BW side
1--> Replicate data source
2--> If required reactivate transfer and communication structure using standrad programs.
This will solve your issue.

Data Source Activation - Master data u201CSource Not Activeu201D (Func. Mod. based)

Generated an export data source, message appears that it is u201CSuccessfully generatedu201D. I then selected the logical Source system and u201CReplicated all data sourcesu201D
I checked in RSA2 (data source repository in BI) and it exits.
Now that I am trying to use the generated datasource to load another MasterData Char Attributes, I get the error message u201DSource Not activeu201C, I am trying to create a transformation from 1st infoObjectu2019s export datasource to this object (both are of the same type etc)..
I am aware that we can use the program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL but this only works if we can see the datasource is RSDS (which I can not for this Datasource, perhaps the reason being that it is Function Module based? )
How else I could activate it? What other steps I should take or anything that can help me?   Please give your suggestions and I will say THANKS the SDN way.

I had the same problem today with an export DataSource generated on a planning area in our production SCM system.
I debugged running RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL in our QA system for the same DataSource amd saw that the program calls function module RSDS_DATASOURCE_COLLECTION_ACT to do the activation. I ran the function module in production using the same parameters.
Our DataSource is 9A_PRG_PA for source system SCP100. I used SE37 to run function module RSDS_DATASOURCE_COLLECTION_ACT with these parameters:
I_T_OBJNM     9A_PRG_PA                     SCP100
I_WITH_CTO
I_CONTEXT     'ACTIVATE_ALL'
I_FORCE                     X
This made an active version of the DataSource appear, and I was then able to run RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate it properly.

BW 7.0 data source activation - transport?

Hi Folks,
I am a bit confused with BW 7.0 data source. I replicated from my APO system and the data source is created in BW as 7.0 -> I choose background activation.
When I want to create an infopackage for the infosource I tells me that data source is not yet active.
So I went in and activated -> asked for a transport.
Question: do I have to transport the data source / after it is replicated on the next system (TEST)?
Or should the data source be normally active right after the replication?

Data source activation

HI Experts,
we are enhancing the data source 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H.After replicating the data source in bw,we are mapping the info objects with fields in transfer rules.When we are activating the transfer rules in BW it is giving the error no psa data exist for the data source.
and when we go to display data source the Active version is "does not exist".and it is not at all allowing to activate the transfer rules.
I tried RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVE_ALLl,but it is taking long time and it is not coming.
I also go through the sap notes mentioned in the earlier posts,but does not work.
We are using 3.5.Can any one help me how to rectify this error.

we tried all the possible ways to activate the data source,but was fialed.
Now we are deleting the data source and replicating again,as it is already there in production.after transporting the new replicated data source the psa data will be lost.
in order to get the psa data how do i proceed further.
please help me..

Hi,
export data sources of InfoCubes are transported with the associated InfoCube, you should not try to transport the export data source separately. Just pick up the cube and transport it, that should sove the problem and the exprot data source should be there, maybe you need to replicate data sources to see it.

Errors RSAR 374 RSAR 375 Data Source activation

I'm trying to load a hierarchy for the InfoObject 0MATERIAL of ERP into SCM. RFC is already configured and working correctly. From Business Content objects I have copied 0MATERIAL, 0PRODH1 (to 6) and 0PROD_HIER. I then created a Source System is connected to the ERP via RFC and then execute the activation and Replication. Replication was successful, but the activation was not completed and received an error: RSAR RSAR 374 and 375.
RFC work correctly, users are also created to correct. These errors do not give the process the Transfer Rules, which displays an error when trying to change RSAR260 Transfer Rules.
Help to find the solution to activate, or tell my other options for loading hierarchies for 0MATERIAL of ERP in SCM

You might have checked this already , if not:
Check authorization ? when asked to remote logon with administrator user, do you use administrator user ? you may need user with administrator priviledge to create source system. sometimes error message in source system creation didn't indicate authorization issue where actually it's lack of authorization. Test the rfc destination again ? and test authorization is ok ? sm59 - choose rfc destination - menu test >> test & authorization. BWREMOTE AND ALEREMOTE back ground users

Data Source activation error

I have activated 2LIS_13_VDKON, i need to enhance the structure with some fields. WHen i append the structure with ZKAWRT of component type KAWRT (currency field) its not appending and giving me error is check table needed to be given. Infact KAWRT field doesnot have check table. I am doing this in ECC 6.0
can someone help me with what to do?

Hi,
in your enhance structure you have to maintain the TAB currcy/quant fields with the reference table and ref. field (currency) to which your KAWRT refers to.
For instance if it is the same currency than your condition value, you should maintain MC13VD1KON as ref table and WAERK as ref. field.

Difference between Replication and Activation of Data Sources

Once you make the replicate of DS at BW, what ever the struc. for that DS would be regenarated, and accordingly your extraction and setup table struc. would get updated by the latest changes made in the DS.
At the BW side all corresponding communication and transfer structure and PSA structure would also get generated according to the DS struct. per R/3
Need of Replication in other terms we can say
Replication needs to be done is each time you save you datasource in R/3. This causes the timestamp of the datasource to be changed and hence the timestamp of the datasource in R/3 and BW are not in sync. Replication would make the timestamp in sync in both R/3 and BW.
Hence you would notice the error "Timestamp error" when you do not replicate the datasource after changing it.
Activating the data source, activating the structure and make available the dat source to use.

Posting date in AFRU and 2lis_04_p_arbpl data source is not matching

Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue with 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL data source, posting date in AFRU table and in data source is not matching.
For example: we booked an activity confirmation of value 100 on 01.01.2015 posting date, Counter 1, Operation 10
For the same operation another counter is confirmed on 01.02.2015 posting date.
So, in AFRU table:
Prod Order     Operation     Confirmation Number     Counter     PostingDate     Activity
1001               10               8001                             1              01.01.2015       100
1001               10               8001                             2              01.02.2015       0
In 2lis_04_p_arbpl data source, counter field is missing due to which only 1 record is coming which is:
Prod Order     Operation     Confirmation Number     Counter     PostingDate     Activity
1001               10               8001                             1              01.02.2015       100
In data source, activity of value 100 is coming on 01.02.2015 date instead in AFRU table it is booked on 01.01.2015 posting date by which we are unable to match the value in query which is based on posting date.
Please help on this.

Please check on which date the production order has status as "completed".

Replication of generic Data Sources

Dear experts,
I am asked to create a generic data source in the Application component Specific to a set of Generic data sources.
To meet this in RSA6 I have created a node with XXXXX name of Appication component.
Now I have created my generic data source in RSO2 with this XXXXX Application Component and the data source creation is successful in the source system ( So, In RSA6 I see my data source under my newly created Apllication Component XXXXX)
Now when I try to replicate my data source in the BW system:
I do not see my ApPlication Component in my source system tab.
Also I tried replication of the data source at source system level.
I am unable to replicate my data source.
Is there anything else I need to do to see my XXXXX application component in the BW system and to replicate my data source.
Could anyone please help me how can I do my replication.

you did't specify which source your extractiing the data from, you should find it inthe specified folder, for example if your SD data you could see it in the underlying folder of SD, check it once under SD, MM components or still if you do not find , refreash the window, come back to DWB(RSA1) and then go to specified folder/Appl Comp,
when you replicate datasource some times you could't see it untill unless you refreash the window, if you still do'nt find it replicate again the datasource
here is the step for replication
1.first install wat r the cubes u want.
2.go to data source.right clik the data source.
3. it will show replicate the data.
4. replicate the data.
5. before u use rsa3 and check whether that data source having the data or not.
6.use rsa5 and check the data source activated or not.
7.create infopackage.
8. upload the data.
