Database reset alert
I have been getting an annoying popup from iSync titled "Database Reset Alert", saying that
"Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts and Calendars were detected and have been repaired".
"The next sync for entourage 2008, address book, entourage, iSync, .Mac and iCal may take longer than usual".
I have done the following to try and fix the problem:
1. in iSync preferences I "Reset Sync History..."
2. I disabled synch in Entourage 2008
However the popup still comes every 10 or 15 minutes and is extremely distracting. I have looked in this discussion group and saw that some people had the same problem but the problem was resolved when they reset the sync history from the preference menu, but that did not work for me.
Thanks,
Ivry
My MM, iPhone, and iCal info is correct, however, my Address Book and Entourage addresses only lists the persons' name and no other data. Entourage calendar has no data. I'm trying to advanced sync from MM to computer.
I receive the same message:
"Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts and Calendars were detected and have been repaired.
The next sync for iSync, iPhone, Address book, iCal, .Mac and Entourage may take longer than usual."
Very frustrating! I'm afraid that if something messes up MM, I've lost my info. Anyway to backup MM info while waiting for a fix on the inconsistencies issue?
The first sync with MM worked.
Thanks,
Meg

How To Disable Verify Database Message Alert
How To Disable Verify Database Message Alert?
I have a VB6 open Crystal Reports using Crystal Reports XI R2 (SP5) and almost every time I open a report, I get an alert message about the table has been changed and I have to click "Ok" to make it goes away. Is there a way to disabled this alert or set default to "Ok" so I do not have to click this message every report. Thank you very much.Hello,
You must verify if the database has changed so you can't disable the message. CR must match what the DB is using or the reports will fail or return wrong data.
It's odd that even after verifying the DB in the designer your app still needs it to be verify the report. You did save the report correct?
Also:
Dim CRApplication As CRAXDDRT.Application
Dim Report As CRAXDDRT.Report
Is the report creation engine and you should be using craxdrt.dll. You need to be licnesed to use craxddrt.dll and this may cause problems for you later when deploying.
Use:
Dim CRApplication As CRAXDRT.Application
Dim Report As CRAXDRT.Report
The mapping is not a switch you can turn on or off but it is Event driven. You need to add code to the viewer section to capture the event if the mapping event fires. Then you can set it to the way you want to use it.
I suggest you purchase a case on line and get to the Report Design team to figure out why when you verify the report your app still thinks it needs to be verified. Something going on in your report that the forum makes it difficult to debug the problem. You can't attach files to forums.

Dear SAP Gurus,
We are getting the following error in Check Database in DB13
BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: LOG_BUFFER, value: 14254080 (>< 4096,512 KB)
The current Parameter : 14254080
We have change the parameter as per SAP Note#830576, still the same error is comming.
Kinldy Help.
Thanks in advance.Hi Vijay,
Are you trying to change log_buffer to a smaller size and you can't? If you on Oracle 10g, you won't be able to reduce log_buffer as according to Oracle Metalink 351857.1, "The Log_buffer Default Size Cannot Be Reduced In 10g R2".
If you are concern about the warning in DB13, go to txn DB17 to change the condition will help to get rid of the warning.

Warning in DB13 Check DB "BR0970W Database administration alert"
Hi
We have an alert message in DB13 when we check the checkdb log. Log details are as below
BR0970W Database administration alert - level: WARNING, type: CRITICAL_FILE, object: /oracle/EPR/sapdata10/btabd_11/btabd.data11, value: (max_size) 30466040 KB (> 29439485 KB)
This warning is for all the datafiles; I did just give the sample log above.
Can you please suggest and help resolving this issue?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
The issue here is that there is no enough disk space for the datafiles to extend. In this case you can turn off the auto extend or Increase the disk space of sapdata10 or decrease the max_size or you can move some of the datafiles to other directory or filesystem.
You can turn off the auto extend while the database is online. After turning off the auto extend, you need to monitor the datafile/tablespace size periodically.

Thanks for your reply.
I checked in SE14, the table VCSMONITOR is Transparent table and the Status is "Not Actve" (Exists in the database).
List of all indexes (constraints) of the table
Index name Unique Short description
0 X Primary index
There are no secondary indexes
Checked for this table/objec in ECC/SRM/BW systems, in SE14 it reports as "object does not exist".
Could you guide me further please.

Dear all:
Running the CheckDB in the transaction DB13 and i get the following
message of error:
"BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM, value: TRUE (<> FALSE)"
Other Details :-
OS :- Win 2003 server
DB :- Oracle 10g
So please help on this issue.
Thanks.
RegardsHi,
Oracle allows customers to use advanced block checking features to enable a higher protection against hardware and software problems.
Also with block checking/checksum turned on, it is absolutely necessary to verify your database. Enabling this feature will only find blocks which are touched (read into the SGA).
Advanced block checking can be enabled by setting either
db_block_checksum = true
or
db_block_checking = true
The reason for this warning is given in the following SAP Note 923919 - Advanced Oracle block checking features
Default recommended by SAP is TRUE.
If this information is helpful please reward points.

BR0978W Database profile alert
Hi,
DB02-----> Check DB it's showing these warnings.
Please checks it and suggest me.
BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: DB_WRITER_PROCESSES, value: 4 (<> 1)
BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: LOG_CHECKPOINT_INTERVAL, value: 0 (< 300000)
BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: OPTIMIZER_FEATURES_ENABLE, value: 9.2.0 (<> 8.1.7)
Regards
S.PrasadHello Prasad,
Well the parameter recommendation is depends on the database version and SAP release version.
Using the relevant parameter notes for the affected system (Oracle 9i and lower: Note 124361 and 180605 (BW); Oracle 10g and higher: 830576), check whether the settings (<curr_val>) you are using are actually correct. If so, use transaction DB17 to change the <check_val> test values for the affected parameters to the correct <curr_val> value, to avoid future unjustified warnings. Alternatively, you can also deactivate or delete the checks in DB17 (Active = "N").
If warnings are issued correctly, you must adjust the parameter settings in init<sid>.ora (and, if necessary, the other configuration files included there using IFILE).
Best Regards,
Madhukar -

Hai Experts

BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: OPTIMIZER_INDEX_COST_ADJ, value: 20 (<= 20)

KHSHello,
Please, read slowly the message you are getting:
K Hari Shankar wrote:
> BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: OPTIMIZER_INDEX_COST_ADJ, value: 20 (<= 20)
Lets try to understand it.
1.- It is telling you that your parameter is currently set to 20 (and that is a correct value as per relevant SAP note that you have checked)
2.- it is telling you that the current value is lower or equal to a specified valued to be checked against (<=20)
so, what could be the "problem", your parameter setting is OK, and the check is telling you the true, but you do not want the "warning"
perhaps the check is not properly configured?
of course 0.o
it should be checking if the value is different than 20, not lower or equal to 20
therefore, you have to change the check
this is done with DB17, go to that transdaction and change the check (perhaps it is DB16, right now I'm not 100% sure which one is display and which one is for change) -

You are getting some warning messages for different functions which are already performed.
such as,
dfa Alter data file
tse Extend tablespace
which are done by BRSPACE program.
You can ignore these warnigns.
If you check trx DB14, click 'Function ID's you will see where each one comes from.
Run, Clean Up Logs Job from DB13.
And Please Weekly Schedule/Run DB13 T-Code and Run Job - Clean Up Logs.
Using the cleanup parameters in the Initialization Profile init<DBSID>.sap you can determine how old the objects are before they are deleted.
The check conditions are specified in the control table DBCHECKORA. You can change these with transaction DB17
