Date view changes
Hi
I am in process of changing description of Data view in planning book.
i am not able to save the description and getting massage as
maintain time for columns visible from field.
i have a tick on visible field and the dates are blank.
what i am suppoze to do , and what will be impact of this
please help

If its DP planning book you can have tick on visible field and from field information from which you want to see the period visible in APO DP planning book.
For example you are expecting sales history for last 3 year than tick on visible field and put the date like 01.11.2007
if you do not put the date, it will now show you the data in past.
If its SNP planning book , do not use this field but directly put time bucket profile.
I hope this will help you to solve the respective issue.

Can't view changed data in journal data

I have implemented JKM Oracle 10g Consistent Logminer on Oracle 10g with the following option.
- Asynchronous_mode : yes
- Auto_configuration : yes
1. Change Data Capture -> Add to CDC, 2.Subscriber->subscribe (sunopsis),
3. Start Journal
The journal has been started correctly wothout errors. The journalized table has always the symbol "green clock". All is gook working.
And then i inserted 1 record in source table, but i can't view changed data in journal data. I can't understand why journal data was generated.
There are no errors.
Help me !!!Did your designer was on the good context ?
Look the list box at the top right of the Designer interface.
You must have the same as the one where you define your journalization. -
I am trying to change the view in CAT2 worklist and data entry area from days (like Mon, Tue, Wed etc) to date view (06/03, 06/04, 06/05 etc) in the columns.

Go to
SPRO -> IMG -> Cross-Application Components -> Time sheet -> Cats Regular -> Set Up Data Entry Profile
Select the profile and click on glass.
Then in general settings check Display Weekdays checkbox
It determines that the system displays the days in the time sheet worklist and data entry section as weekdays (MO, TU, WE, for example). In the data entry section, the date is displayed in addition to the weekday.
If you do not select this option, the day's date appears in the format 01.01 or 01/01. This format is recommended if you use this profile to enter data daily or monthly.

I am changing certain fields in planning book and date view for a particular planning area I want to know how to transform the changes in to quality system for testing, I think I have to transport this, but I have not done this before

To add to what Amol has said , you have to make sure you back up the data in the quality system before releasing your transport . You have not mentioned whether your planning area has time series key figures. If it does then you are going to lose the value of your key figures. To recover , you can backup your data to cube , migrate the changes , and then reload the data again from the cube to the P.A .

Order changes in Monthly and Weekly Data View
Hi,
I need some of your suggestions for my problem below:
I have a planning book with two data views (1 with monthly bucket and other with weekly bucket).Now I create three forecast orders in the weekly data view as below:
Quantity Date
10 05.11.2007
20 12.11.2007
30 19.11.2007
So I can see the sum as 60 in the monthly data view. Now I try to modify (deduct by 5) the forecast order from the monthly data view. So the sum 60 changes to 55 but when I see the details of the order it looks strange to me.

Please let me know what is the logic behind this?
But if I perform the above calculation for the category 'HG' as above I get the result like this.

This is possibly because of the settings in the planning area for the time disaggregation of the Key figure
Can you go Planning area administration and see what the setting is in the key figure disaggregation tab?
I think it needs to be P for proportional distribution and will use previously existing proportions for new quantities.
instead in your case it is ignoring previously exsisting proportions and distributing afresh. Am not sure what type that is (K?)
the F1 on the time based disaggregation field will give you a better idea.
if you want to know why the 11 and 5 are there at the ends and 13 is in the middle buckets, it is because the storage buckets for the weeks have 6, 7,7,7 and 2 days and 55/30 multiplied by these days is how the number are calculated.

I wish to insert data into a table only when the value of the inserted data has changed. Thus, in a time series, if the value of the data at time, t-1, is 206 then if the data to be inserted at time t is 206, then it is skipped (not entered).
If the value of the data at time t+1 is 206, it is skipped also; until the value changes, so if the value at t+1 was 205, then that would be inserted, and if at time t+2 the data is 206, it would be inserted too.
What is the best way to do it without increasing overheads?This view works:

History and Future Bucket of the Data View
Hi Experts
As per my Client Requirement Planning for the Next year Jan 2010 u2013 Dec 2010 which Starts in the second Quarter of the Year 2009.
They need historical data (Historical Time Bucket) of Last 3 years in the monthly bucket and Future bucket for Jan 2010- Dec 2010.
My query in this regard to design Data view which need to Show Historical periods of Last 3 yrs from current month and Future Bucket as Jan 2010-Dec 2010 to input the Forecast.
The next planning Cycle would start in the second Quarter of the 2010 to forecast for the Jan 2011 to Dec 2011. When they plan for the Year Jan 2011 u2013 Dec 2011 the data views should be automatically roll or update with future bucket Jan 2011-Dec2011 and History Bucket with three years in the monthly bucket from the Current Month.
Please give your Valuable Suggestions with regard to above requirement.

Assume that we are in the Month of June 2009, My planners start the planning process for the Jan 2010 - Dec 2010.
If i take 1 year it wont help me , Future Buckets will be till May 2010.
If i take 17 Months as the Future Buckets , Future buckets are displayed till Dec 2010.
Till June 2010 In between Planners can have Revision , and may again change the Forecast.
Suppose Assume that we have revision in the month of March 2010 , Here Future Buckets are displayed till October 2011.
How to make my data view time bucket in the synchronized with future Periods.

Bind multiple fields to one node in data view
I have a need to have an interactive form where data from a single data source is displayed in multiple fields on the form. In addition these fields are open for input. I have bound the multiple fields on the form to one node in the data view. The data is being displayed in the multiple fields. This form is being routed thru workflow so various agents are updating the form. The problem that I am having is that the form only seems to allow input in the first field on the form but not the other fields that are tied to the same data source. For example, field A and field B are bound to node SUMMARY. I can add/change/delete data in field A but not in field B. After I have done some entry in field A, I can then sometimes make changes in field B. We have a requirement that field A be enabled for agent #1 but field B is invisible. Later in the workflow, agent #2 needs to make final changes on a "summary" page so agent #2 had field B enabled.
Does anyone have any idea how to correct this data entry issue so that data can be entered into either field that is tied to a single node?Having multiple fields in the backend is not an option. I will not go into the business reason in detail but the last page of the form contains a final version of data pulled from various locations on the form where the data on the other pages was input by multiple agents in the process flow. The last agent in the workflow needs to put the "finishing touches" to the data and should not have to search all over in the form to find the appropriate data fields.
I have found 2 possible solutions and would like to know if anyone can recommend one over the other.
First solution - bind multiple fields on the form to one node in the data view. This seems to work correctly on the form and data can be entered into either field, with the data being passed back to the webdynpro context in the one node in the data view (corresponding node in WD context).
Second solution - the node/attribue in the WD context must have the same name as a DDIC element. The node in the data view must have this same name. The field names on the form must also have the same name. Define the binding for the field names as Global. I have not validated that the data is passed back to the WD. -
How to get rid of the "mil" in Data View's large Display meter
Hi, there! I have two analog voltage inputs that I am having signal express V2.5 to collect data on. The first input is scaled to inches while the second input is scaled to pounds. For some reason, as i bring up the large display in Data View, the meter will show this "mil" thing. It won't go away until the scale reaches 1.0000. For instance, if the scaled signal is less than 1.0000, it will indicate 900mil, 800mil, 50mil 1mil, and so on..... This really created alot of confusion for my lab.
I am hoping if you guys can tell me a way to make 900mil to become 0.900, 50mil to 0.050, and 1mil to 0.001

Sorry about this. I don't believe there is a way for you to change this in SignalExpress 2.5. However we did add this ability in SignalExpress 3.0. Most displays now have a property page, including the Large Display, which allows you to specify the format and precision shown, including to remove the SI notation. By right-clicking on the Large Display and select Properties, go to the Format & Precision tab, and select the Floating Point option (instead of SI notation).
Again, I'm sorry to say that this option is only available in SignalExpress 3.0+.

Modify the data source of a data view web part
I have a dataView web part deployed in a template in multiple site collection. This dataView hasn't any query set up, so it loads a lot of items and this is slowing down my system.
Now I want to programmatically put a query overriding the existent (empty) one and I'm doing like this:

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to change the data view web part datasource programmatically.
We need to override the databind method like below:

Data view web part to display the most frequently accessed pages based on the user that is logged in
I am working on a project in which I would like to display the top 5 most accessed pieces of content as links, based on the user that is logged in. Our MOSS 2007 implementation has subsites for all regions that we do business in, as an example North, South, East, and West. When a user visits the North region homepage, I would like a web part to display:
Hello, <username>, here is a listing of your most accessed content:
Link to One
Link to Two
Link to Three
Link to Four
Link to Five
So each user would get a customized list based on their content access. We are not using my sites, but these would not work as we want the list to display on the home page of the region site.
I am thinking that a data view may work here, but I am not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.If you are running MOSS you may want to take a look at the Relevant Documents web part too.

Transporting only data views in TSOBJ
Hi,
We have three data views in a planning book. We changed macros for one of the data views and want to transport only that data view to production. we actually don't want to transport one of the other two left, since that was a test view we created.
When I go into TSOBJ and create a request, the system is picking up planning books in transport and in SE01, I can only see the planning books.
Looking at the thread below, I thought I could go into the transport request and delete the other two data views.

I have recently used this option what Aparna specified for one of my macro changes. I can also confirm that this transport of only the relevant macro book will work fine.
If you are using the macro in some background job, then do remember to also transport the background job by using TSOBJ.

Live View CS4 vs Live Data View CS3
In DW CS3 I was able to edit php pages in Design View with
Live Data View turned on. Without it the page did not display
properly. This made life easy adding content to clients web pages
(the main stay of maintaining web sites).
With DW CS4 this functionality appears to have been removed
or perhaps I just cannot work out how to get it.
Adding lots of content in code view is a pain - can anyone
tell me if and why this has changed and has DW become a tool for
fanciful coding at the cost of being the workhorse it used to

To access Live Data view in CS4, select View > Live Data
or use the
keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+R/Shift+Cmd+R.

Using CVS in SQL Developer for Data Modeler changes.
Hi,
I am fairly new to SQL Developer Data Modeler and associated version control mechanisms.
I am prototyping the storage of database designs and version control for the same, using the Data Modeler within SQL Developer. I have SQL Developer version 3.1.07.42 and I have also installed the CVS extension.
I can connect to our CVS server through sspi protocol and external CVS executable and am able to check out modules.
Below is the scenario where I am facing some issue:
I open the design from the checked out module and make changes and save it. In the File navigator, I look for the files that have been modified or added newly.
This behaves rather inconsistently in the sense that even after clicking on refresh button, sometimes it does not get refreshed. Next I try to look for the changes in Pending Changes(CVS) window. According to the other posts, I am supposed to look at the View - Data Modeler - Pending Changes window for data modeler changes but that shows up empty always( I am not sure if it is only tied to Subversion). But I do see the modified files/ files to be added to CVS under Versioning - CVS - Pending Changes window. The issue is that when I click on the refresh button in the window, all the files just vanish and all the counts show 0. Strangely if I go to Tools - Preferences - Versioning - CVS and just click OK, the pending changes window gets populated again( the counts are inconsistent at times).
I believe this issue is fixed and should work correctly in 3.1.07.42 but it does not seem to be case.
Also, I m not sure if I can use this CVS functionality available in SQL Dev for data modeler or should I be using an external client such as Wincvs for check in/ check out.

I think you will find that in Data Modeler's Physical Model tree the same icons are used for temporary Tables and Materialized Views as in SQL Developer.
