Defective phone & tardy service

I've have a sony vivaz that i have purchased four months ago. I immediately had problems with phone hanging. After two months the sound wasn't working. I gave the service center for repair, they fixed the sound but not the hanging problem, i do not even use the memory card to avoid the hanging and use basic features and yet i still have the problem. i returned the phone the day after they had serviced it cause the issue wasn't resolved. After waiting for a month after the 1st time i had given it to the service center, the phone is still unusable. In that time I had to keep calling the service center and customer care. they said they'd arrange a call back or inform me of the status of my phone. Nothing like that happened.
After I returned the phone the second time they send me back announcing there is no problem with it. Unless it hangs in front of them I cant give the phone to get fixed is what the customer care guy told me and the service center insisted that the phone had no problem.
I have spend a big amount on that phone thinking Sony is a good and reliable brand. But from my experience, your product is incompetent and service is tardy. The phone looks like its an year old and its hinges and surface are chipping
I cannot use that phone as it hangs every 20mins and to a point where i have to take out the battery and switch it on again.  Even a micromax would serve me better atleast for the first six months whereas with your product I was already having issues from the time i purchased, unfortunately, i did not have the time to return it or deal with the situation immediately.
As for your service, everyone seems happy to just give me false assurances and blatantly leave the matter as of being of no concern.

Hi, I have posted on the website before about the defective phone and crappy service..... After running around for 3-4 months,back and forth to the service center, making numerous phone calls to customer care and exchanging emails with sony support, i have a really crappy phone that hangs even though i dont use a memory card nor do i have more than 2 applications besides the inbuilt ones. I was asked to get a work order number last month but the service center wudnt answer or their phone would be out of order, i had asked the customer care to talk to them and they said they would call back but nothing.
Finally i got a call after about 2-3 weeks askin me to pick up my cell phone and they were unwilling to give me my work order number which i was waiting for so i could mail it to sony support. i went to collect my phone which is an even worse condition than before, even physically the hardware is fallin aoart and phone wont stop hanging. I asked for my work order number which they said they couldnt give, so when i called the customer support they said that service center was no longer an authorised one and im being asked to go to another one after 3-4 months of making rounds about 4-5 times and each time finding my phone in a worse condition, if it cant be fixed please return a part of the amount or replace the handset. I work 6days and barely have the time or money to be doing all of this.
I am not willing to go to another service center so that i would get back my phone in a worse condition. I want someone in charge to look into the matter and make sure that there is follow up from your end. I understand that no one has anything to lose except myself. but as another human being please try and put yourself in my shoes. As a big brand, is it worth it to be causing people so much inconvenience and false assurances. Isnt it your responsibility as a service and product provider to make sure every customer is satisfied no matter how small or insignificant they maybe??
Kindly note i bought this phone 7-8 months back out of which it has been at the service center for about 4 months.

    Sorry budone but this phone is nothing but junk. You should not have do master resets at all time of the day. I have done that, pull the battery all to no avail. Judging by the amount of post on this topic as well as on the HTC site, there is an obvious problem with this phone that HTC and Verizon refuse to address. No phone should randomly reboot for no reason at all. Whether it be doing a phone call, text, surfing the internet or using the navigator, the phone constantly reboots. What makes things worse for me this is my only phone. If an emergency should arise, I'm out of luck. There is no way that a person should go without phone service for 10-12 hours at a time.
    The phone is junk that I wouldn't wish on know one.

I was able to make calls, now when I get this message, I can't connect to cell service, which defeats the point of having a cell phone!     Hi! I got in touch with AppleCare last evening finally. They helped me clear the data blockage or whatever. It sounds like this is an issue they are aware of, because they said the phone was not defective. However, it happened again today and it took several times of me doing the resetting of the network and hard staring the phone before the problem cleared. It is just frustrating because it is hard to go without cell service for long periods of time. And no, I have not done anything with the SIM card. I don't know what it is or how it would be accessed on an iPhone! This might be something Verizon wants to take a closer look at with Apple.

  • Defective phone return mistake

    I recieved a new phone in the mail via verizon to replace a defective phone.  I made a mistake and thought that I had 5 days to send the defective phone back after activation.  Well after struggling with activiation and backup assistance I realize it was 5 days after recieving the new phone I was suppose to send it back.  My question is am I really going to get charged the 600 dollars or whatever the crazy amount is for reading one word wrong?

    Get the defective phone back to them and they will waive it off (that is if they even charged it in the first place)... in all likelyhood the charge won't even show up on your next bill as they typically either cycle before the charge is applied or you will get the phone to them before the bill is cycled.

    I have been unable to access my purchased music on my new computer (the old one crashed before I could back up my purchased itunes music). I clicked "check for purchases," and received one of several television shows I purchased and NONE of the dozons of songs and albums. When I clicked "check for purchases" again, a box came up that said "all purchases have been downloaded for this account." Does Apple really not allow you to recover your purchased music in this situation? Does Apple really put profits ahead of customer satisfaction to the extent that they've eliminated phone customer service for itunes altogether? Well, I know the answer to the second question from research is yes. How sad. But can anyone help me with the first Q? Is all my purchased music really gone permanently? Thanks. -Matt

    Apple's policy is clear: iTS purchases can be downloaded only once. It is your responsibility to make back-ups.
    That being said, at their discretion they have made one-time exceptions to this policy. You can ask for an exception by submitting the form at the bottom of this page:

  • Failure login "IP Phone Agent" service

    Hi! I have an issue. When I try log in the IP Phone Agent service I get an error: "selected service IP Phone Agent isn't active. Select another service IP Phone Agent".
    The service URL seems correct: http://ip_address_UCCX_server:6293/ipphone/jsp/sciphonexml/IPAgentInitial.jsp and the Cisco Browser and IP Phone Agent Service is started and has a status "IN_SERVICE".
    What is the problem here?
    We use UCCX Premium 7.0(1) and CUCM 7.1.5

    Go through the tech tip below and confirm the configuration. If every thing seems to be good then it might be a issue with the CTI manager service on CUCM and you will have to restart that service.

    Following is the order  to follow to restart the CTI service
    a) In CUCM cluster first stop CTI service on all subscribers
    b) restart the service on publisher
    c) Then start it on all subscribers.
    After the CUCM CTI service is up on CUCM cluster  restart the IPPA service in UCCX

    I know some one else would have gone through this pain...
    Last October 2010, I ordered SE Xperia Mini Pro from a website. I was still exploring the features I found that one side of my ear phone does not work. I tried several other ear phones but still couldn't hear. So I opened a ticket. The agent confirmed that my handset is under warranty and SE will repair it.

    I am at total lost. This handset comes with 1yr warranty and this whole year around I have been sending and receiving the phone from the repair centre. Now its close to its warranty expiration and I am not sure what to do. I wasted my money on SE. I have not thought of SE service being such pathetic.
    Not sure who will answer me. Not sure if my phone will ever work. Not sure what the warranty will be on it. Not sure when SE will realize that their customers are suffering due to their bad phones and services.

    I have called Verizon over and over again and it seems that your representatives get my story wrong every time. I returned a defective phone to your warehouse in Fort Worth, TX and it was delivered on August 26th 2014. I have called numerous times and provided the tracking info many times and I am still getting messages that a fee has been applied to my account.
    I have doneseek  some research on the internet and it seems that your company is doing this to many of your customers. If this is not resolved and I am charged for a phone that has been returned, I will seek legal help and contact the news. I refuse to pay $599 for a phone I returned.

    My sons phone was defective got a replacement from verizon.  Followed directions and was returned to Fort Worth Texas.   On November 3 2014   Was sent text on Nov 14  I was going to be charged if not returned.  Called they began a "ticket" to rectify the situation.   Today 12/27 spent over 3 hours.  Listening to someone tell me no mind you this is the third supervisor.  It is not Verizon's fault or responsibility until the phone is checked in.  And a refund can not be issued until it is.    We have begun the process AGAIN but that was only a few hours ago what did they expect them
    To do.   So this has been going on for 2 months.   The proper ticket was only issued today.  again not their fault.  Who's fault is it?   This is insane.!   $449 is not chump change.  Did it ever occur to verizon to change procedure?!   How many customers have been fed up and just paid this?!

  • Verizon provided me with a defective phone, won't make it right.

    Okay, here's the scoop.  I purchased my X online, received it on August 9.  Purchased a combo case/holster and screen protectors the next day from a Verizon store.  The day after (Aug 11), I noticed that my camera button was missing, even though I had not taken a single picture (was too busy playing with all of the other doo-dads!).  Went to a Verizon store, and they immediately ordered my a replacement, which arrived the very next day.  Great, right?  Well, almost.
    As soon as I powered up the new replacement phone, I noticed that the backlight on the "home" button wasn't working.  The backlight for the other 3 hard buttons (menu, back, search) worked fine, just not the "home" button.  Now comes the kicker:  According to the paperwork that came with my "new" replacement phone, I am only allowed ONE new replacement during that first 30 day period.
    So let me get this straight...I pay $200 for the latest & greatest phone.  It breaks in less than 2 days.  They replace it quickly (yay!), but the replacement is defective from the very beginning (boo!), and I'm {word filter avoidance}
    ?  So now I can only get it replaced under warranty with a "refurbished" unit?  I actually suspect that the first replacement WAS a refurbished unit, not new.
    Luckily, the phone works and the lack of back-lighting on the "home" button is more of an inconvenience than anything, but I am still not a happy camper.  Especially after being a Verizon Wireless customer for nearly 20 years now with 5 phones total on a family plan!  IMO, I should have a comletely "working" "new" phone in my hands, as that is what I thought I was purchasing less than 30 days ago.

    Yes, but since they already replaced it once, they will only replace it this time with a "refurbished" unit, not new.  And of course, they have nothing in stock, so they would have to ship the "refurbished" one out as well (which doesn't bother me at all...I just feel that I should be getting a new one, not "refurbished").

    Broadband OK, phone line down 7 Jan; did all recommended checks before reporting fault; told to expect repair of "BT Network" problem by 1700 10 Jan; "engineer allocated" message received morning of 10th; since then no rectification, no info depite website promise of updates..each time I try to track fault, it still says repair by 1700 10 Jan and no way to find out what Openreach may or may not be doing since then. Apalling. Can anyone advise how I can find out what's going on or whether I've been forgotten?  Mobiles don't work in these hilly parts.

  • Apps Don't Always Load - Phone or Service Issue?

    I have the iPhone 4S (AT&T as my provider) and awhile back when I did the software update iOS 5.1.1, I am now running on 4G. Now, I've heard many things about 4G - that it doesn't make your phone load any faster, it's not really 4G, etc. However; even with full bars when I try and run my apps (i.e. Instagram. FaceBook, games, basically anything require an Internet connection), it often "times" out and cannot load the app. I also have trouble sending and receiving e-mails, and text messaging as well as with Safari. I have had to turn off iMessaging because it always fails to send. I'll get error messages saying my connection has timed out, cannot refresh feed, server cannot be reached.. Obviously when I am connected through Wi-Fi, I have no issues but when I am only connected through 4G/Edge. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Is this a service issue with AT&T or is it my phone that I will need to bring in to Apple to have them check out?

    Thanks for the suggestion, and I realized I forgot to include that I have tried exactly that! I've tried to reset my phone as well as restore it to factory setting hoping there was some glitch and it'd be gone by doing the reboot but nope. It's just frustrating because I can see I have good signal yet my phone isn't working like it should be. Plus, it's not like having the iPhone is cheap!

    Oh, yes, the Apple store will either install that cheesy, annoying screen app, or tell me I can replace my phone - only 1 1/2 years old - come on, Apple! - for a hefty price since the warranty is over and my cell contract still has months to go. Oh, and I've purchased AppleCare several times on other products and never needed it because I am careful with my electronics! Apple has gotten enough money from me for AppleCare in the past, and why would I have expected Apple to have a shoddy product (well, I might now). Thanks for responding, though.
