Delegate calendars from exchange in Calendar

Dear All,
I'm having this strange issue since upgrading to Mountain Lion. I see all calendars from my delegates (via an exchange server) in my calendar screen. I can unselect my own calendar in the menu and my appointements would disapear, but I can't unselect all my delegates calendars - all of their appointements are permanently visible. With 8 calendars permanently visible - I can't see my own appointements.
The interesting thing is, these get only updated when I open a delegate's calendar via "Window - name of delegate". A second window pops-up with that calendar only, and the data is added to my main screen. Drives me crazy - this used to work perfectly under Lion.
The Apple support desks claims it's normal...
Anybody here has the same issue?
Thanks!

Hi All,
This solved my issue (and maybe yours).
Went to calendar preferences, Accounts, selected the exchange account, hit the tab "delegation" and selected show for all of them.
Even though they were all showing already, I now could unselect them in the "calendar list" and they would disapear.
Hope this makes sense.
Yeay...

  • Outlook Calendar invite - Not able to send from exchange server.

    Hi,
I am not able to send outlook calendar invite from exchange server. But if i installed outlook on my local machine/server it works fine. Below code the i used to build calendar invite for your reference.

Help me to send calendar invite without installing outlook on the specified server. Please do the needful.

    Hi
It is probably that the stuff you doing is for outlook and because outlook is not installed it cannot find the classes.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Recurring calendar event bug from Exchange

In Outlook, we can create a recurring meeting for things like the first Monday of the month, or the 5th of every month.  But if we schedule a meeting to occur the second weekday of every month, it appears wrong on our phones for every date except the very first one.  In other words, each subsequent month is wrong.  For what it's worth, we also get incorrect results on Android phones.  But Windows phones handles it properly.
Has anybody else run into this on their iPhone, and if so, did anybody find a solution other than creating a bunch of individual meetings to hit the proper dates??

Just following up if anybody else has run into this bug in the way the iOS interprets certain recurring calendar events synched from Exchange?
To experience this bug, create a recurring event in Exchange (via Outlook) and set it to occur the second weekday of every month.  The first month on your iPhone/iPad will be correct, and every month after it will be very wrong.
Hopefully Apple can fix this at some point.

  • Getting calendar events from exchange 2003

We have a requirement of getting the calendar items from exchange server 2003 using web dav , jakarta slide
initially we made a connection and retrieve the mail items from server
we use search method of org.webdav.lib.httpclient.method.search method to search and retrieve the responses
can any one say how to build an XML request for retrieving calendar events from exchange and how to parse the search method response from and retrieving it.
it would be more helpful if any one throw some light on this

  • Calendar Free/Busy permissions being ignored for users migrated from Exchange 2003, fine for new users created on Exchange 2010

I have uncovered a situation where it seems the free/busy permissions are being ignored for users that were migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
I have the default permissions set to only show Free/Busy Time, not Details.  However if I look at the calendar for a users who was migrated from the old Exchange 2003 server, I can see details.  If I look
at a newer user who was added directly to the Exchange 2010 server, I (correctly) only see the times and "Free" or "Busy", not the specific details.
I verified the permissions on the migrated mailboxes many different ways (Exfolders, cmdlets, etc) and all signs point to only allow showing Free/Busy Times, but alas, I can still see the Details as well.
My users are using Outlook 2010.

    Hi,
Does this issue occur on Outlook only or both Outlook and OWA?
Since you have double checked the permissions via multiple methods, it seems there is nothing problem on permission. Please make sure the migration from Exchange 2003 server completed successfully.
If in OWA everything goes well (cannot see details), it should be an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I suggest re-create profile to refresh the caches.
    Thanks

  • Sync: old calendar events deleted from Exchange

    Hi,
we have 8 users of Blackberry 8330 who are synchronizing with Exchange 2003 via Outlook 2007 and Blackberry Desktop Manager v5.0_b028.
For most of them, all is fine, but two users recently noticed that all non-recurring calendar event older that 2 months have been erased from Exchange. Moreover, one of these users noticed this morning that an event that she could see yesterday in Outlook, dated 2009-11-07, was erased this morning during the synchronization.
What can be happenning here, and is this behavior configurable?
    Regards,
    Marc Delisle

I found the problem was a setting on the SLVR for deleting events in the phone's datebook after the set amount of time passed.

  • Get Public Calendar from Exchange

The "experts" said it can't be done, but we downloaded Add2Exchange from diditbetter.com and set up syncing relationships between our Private calendars and our Public calendar, where all our corporate appointments are kept. Now our Public info syncs with our iPhones. GREAT STUFF! You also can use the software to sync Private/Public Contacts and Tasks.
We are in our 21-day trial period, but it looks like we will be purchasing this Exchange add-in. If you need iPhone access to your Public folders, have your Exchange Administrator look into the program.
Just thought I'd share this for those who want to know how to sync with Public folders.
BTW, I have hated the iPhone since getting it last year, but the 2.0 software has significantly changed my opinion. It's pretty darned cool stuff now.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to add a public folder outlook calendar to a SharePoint site.
I recommend to overlay an Exchange calendar on a SharePoint calendar.
There are two articles for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2010, it still works for SharePoint 2013.
Overlay a SharePoint calendar with a calendar from Exchange or SharePoint
    SharePoint and Exchange Calendar together
In addition, you can manually drag and drop the appointment from your personal calendar to the SharePoint calendar.

  • Unable to add delegate calendars in iCal

I'm using OS 10.6.7 and am on an Exchange 2010 server and have it hooked into iCal. It shows my calendar just fine, but when I go into preferences->account->delegation and hit the plus button to add a delegate, I can enter a username of a delegate into the appropriate field, but when I click away (hitting the "enter" key just goes down a line, which is odd for when I'm entering what should be a single-line item) , the text I've just entered disappears and I'm left with an empty list. So, effectively, I cannot add a delegate exchange calendar to iCal.
I know that permissions for the exchange calendar are correct serverside, because I can view the delegate's calendar just fine from Exchange webmail. It's just in iCal that it won't add. Any ideas? I have tried deleting and re-adding the exchange account in iCal, and that doesn't help.

iCAL (Calendar) may be unable to access a shared calendar if the person's access to it is defined using a group that contains another group to provide access..  The access must be an account within the membership of the group not a group entered as a member of the group.
For example: SharedCalendarA has a group named All-Teams with Reviewer access.  All-Teams has a Red-Team, Green-Team, etc groups listed in it.  PersonA's account is listed in Red-Team.  PersonA may not be able to access ShardCalendarA since All-Teams is being used to control access.  However, if Red-Team is used instead access will work.  It seems iCAL is unable to resolve access for security groups within groups.  The group being used MUST have the person's account listed in it.
I thought this is worth passing along since Outlook 2011 for Mac and OWA work with groups within group access but iCAL may be having an issue with extra level security access.

  • ICal opens with Delegate Calendar

I made a few changes to my iCal installation, trying to retrieve some Exchange calendars that I have shared access to and get my calendar colors to match on my iPad and iPhone.  Now when I open iCal, it defaults to a shared Google calendar, rather than my main calendar view.  What did I change, and how can I change it back?  I've already tried closing the program with the main calendar view open, no change on the next open.

Found my own solution right after posting my question...I selected my delegate calendar from the window menu, and simply "closed" it.  Now iCal opens with the main calendar view.

  • Some Google delegate calendars won't appear within iCal

Strange.  My main Google calendar syncs just fine with iCal.  So does the Google Holiday calendar (which is a delegate.)  I added the St. Louis Rams and St. Louis Blues calendars as delegates.  They appear in the delegate window in iCal preferences and, when I checkmark them there, also appear in the calendar list within iCal.  Trouble is, the actual events contained in the sports calendars are not displayed in iCal, for example, a Rams game scheduled for Sunday at 4:05pm doesn't appear at all.  I did check and those events are displayed correctly on the web-based Google calendar.  Any ideas as to a fix are appreciated.

Similar problem here. I can select the delegate calendars within iCal, but it simply doesn't sync any events for the delegate calendars. I'm also returned an error if I try to manually subscribe to the calendars, e.g. using a direct link from the Google calendar settings.
Either way, I think it's all related to a known block Google have implemented to deal with an iCloud conflict. Keep an eye here for a solution...although it's been several months already obviously:

The iPhone select utility should get things rolling on any iOS devices. See:
    https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect
NB. You must do it individually from each individual iOS device.

  • Can't see delegate calendars on iPad

    Hi,
I have Mountian lion 10.8.5 server, iCal server.
I am not able to see the delegates calender on iPad.
    Thanks,
    Prem

Was experiencing the same problem. Was using Exchange calendars with delegates. I just updated my iPad and just received iPhone 4s. Delegate calendars do show on iPad but not on iPhone 4s. Exact same calendar account settings on both. Thought it must be some glitch in iOS5.0 for iPhone.
Decided to change iPhone back to GoogleSync for delegates. Just had to go to https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect and choose which calendars to sync. Disabled my original Exchange account on iPhone. All sorted now.

  • Getting alarms for events in delegate calendar, but alarm not set in event

I use iCal as a front-end to Google Apps calendar (gCal). I am using the CalDAV interface to gCal. I set up iCal to sync 1) with my gCal and 2) with 2 other gCals, of business associate, via iCal delegates. This is mostly working. In iCal I see the events for all 3 calendars and syncing seems OK.
The problem is that for one of the delegate calendars, I get Alarm pop-ups for every event scheduled by that colleague. In most cases I am not an attendee in the event. When I look at the event settings, in this delegate calendar, the "Alarm" is set to none.
I'd really like to stop getting this extraneous Alarm pop-ups. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Actually, not quite ditto. I am not using gCal. I have a CalDAV server, with two calendars served, my wife's and mine. Each of us is a delegate of the other. On iCal on her computer, she has "ignore alerts" set for all my calendars, and this works. However, she gets the alerts on her iphone. I cannot find an option to "ignore alerts" for the iPhone calendar app. What am I missing here?

  • How do you delegate calendars in the new iCal?

The ability to delegate calendars was significant in deciding to roll out Leopard in our studio. However, I find no documentation in iCal or the manual regarding how to do that. What gives?

Yes, Apple's support site says look at iCal help but there's nothing in there about delegation.

  • Delegate Calendars wont show in wiki?

10.6 server will not show the delegate calendars via the wiki access but ical brings them up fine.... Solutions?
    Ditto with ical on Iphone4s....

I've got this problem too. And I use the same tactics described here: delete the folder: user/Library/Appication Support/iCal; plus the preference file: user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist. I have also deleted all events that repeat indefinitely (including the American Holidays calender I subscribed to).
When I restart iCal, at first I see an empty weekly panel, with just two start-up calendars, Work and Home, showing in the pane at the left. Then after 6-8 seconds, my other calendars appear, and the weekly panel fills with events. Everything has been restored.
However, if I close and re-open iCal, I have to go through the same process to get my calendars and events back.
This is a pain in the neck. Does Apple know about it?

  • ICal Syncs From Exchange, but not To Exchange -- funky Console error.

I'm the IT guy troubleshooting a user's MacBook Pro 15" (not unibody) with Snow Leopard. The Mac users in my company have been having near-constant trouble with their email and calendars almost since the day they switched, first with Exchange 2003/Entourage and now with Exchange 2007/Snow Leopard (guess how I feel about those "Enterprise Ready" ads!) -- random show-stopping issues like this have plagued them and I delete and resync something almost weekly. (By comparison, the hundreds of Outlook users on my server have never needed to delete and resync. Blackberry users occasionally, iPhone/WinMo users almost never.)
Calendar items in iCal don't get synced up to my Exchange 2007 server, however creating an item in Outlook Web Access (i.e. directly on the server) get synced down to iCal just fine. I've tried refreshing, etc.
In Console, there are repeated error messages saying "save failed" ... "Items cannot be deleted from alarms." Unfortunately it seems I'm the first person known to Google to have this error (yay!) hence the post here. Your advice in resolving the issue is appreciated because I'd rather not wipe his iCal and resync from Exchange, given that an unknown number of appointments haven't yet synced up to the server and thus data would be lost.
Below is the full error message from Console, which repeats once every minute. The only differences between errors are the UserInfo which appears to increment. The appointment in question, "Call Adam Hird" from 9:00 to 9:15 on 11/19/09, looks fine in iCal except that it appears to have been renamed "Call with Adam Hird" with a location (a 10-digit phone number with hyphens) added (which iCal might not like, since the appointment name is just followed by a long dash "--" and nothing. Removing this doesn't appear to solve anything.) and the time changed to 9:00-9:30. It doesn't appear to fix itself when I change its time to 10:00 (again I don't want to delete anything since that might "fix" the problem without actually solving it.)

Despite my reservations, the user needed his calendar to sync ASAP, so I deleted the Adam Hird appointment. Then I thought "might be a good idea to back it up so I can help Apple Discussions troubleshoot!" so I pressed Cmd+Z to undo the deletion. Apparently this unstuck the clog-- the test appointments that weren't syncing up to Exchange deleted themselves (oops) and the Adam Hird appointment reverted back to its Exchange state (9:00-9:15, no location). Further tests show that syncing now works fine with no Console errors.
Any ideas? Consider this a bug report, I guess...
