Delete all cost center

Hi all,
I use LSMW to create all cost center for system. However, all cost center have codename wrong, so I want to delete all cost center and create again. Can I? How by? I have many cost centers so I cant use KS04. Please help me, thanks very much!
P/S: some cost centers have data posting on it.

For cost centers that have data in them you can not delete them. There are two options
1. Block those cost centers : Go to the control tab in the cost center master data and check all the boxes there.
2. In case its a non live system and if you do not have much data then you may delete the transaction data with transaction OKC3 but the problem is that it would delete each and every data posted in CO. After this you can delete the cost centers using OCK4 or KS14. This is not a recomended approach and you should only use it only when you can do away with the data posted if that is very less. In this process you may loose important test data in you need them.

How to delete a cost center hierarchy

Hi all,
We are having a issue regarding the cost centers. The cost centers have been assigned wrong cost center numbers. Now the client wants a set of new cost center numbers to be used in the system. In order for that to be done I thought may be if I can change the cost center hierarchy that has been assigned to the controlling area in OKKP transaction we can assign new cost centers to the new hierarchy and solve the problem.
But the system does not allow us to assign a different cost center hierarchy from the already existing one when cost centers are assigned to it.
My issue is how to delete the cost center hierarchy.
If that is not possible how can we remove the cost centers assigned to the cost center hierarchy ( is this possible)
Last question can we delete the transaction data posted to cost centers.
Points will be assigned to all the replies.

Hello Sarada,
If the requirement is to track new cost centers only going forward, then you may need to create new Cost Centers, block old cost centers. Create a new node in the hierarchy saying "Old-do not use".
If the requirement is to have the history transactions reflect the new cost centers as well, then you will need to undertake a project for SLO (System Landscape Optimization) which will replace this data at table level. This is a major project in itself and the programs are proprietary to SAP.

How to delete the cost center line item data of particular cost center and only one cost center is exisiting for that company code.
Is there any way to delete the line items in that cost center.
Can data archiving & deleting can help us..........
does it have any effect over other cost center data....

Archiving & Deleting the Cost center line items

My requirement is to delete the line items in the cost cneter as of today, but when i tried to archive & delete the Cost center line items using CO_item,i aam sucesfull in deleteing the past data, but the data of the last month and currenct month i was unable to ........
when i tried in the spro>img>controlling>general ontrolling>archiving>prepare archiving for co line items
i set the resident time to 0,but i was unable to delete the line items.what colud be the reason and what is the way to delete the currenct data also from the system.

I think SAP help says that the period for which you are planning to delete or archive data may have to be locked.

i needed to complete transaction okeon , but it showed me a message " society have duplicity" . Because of putting it duplicated cost center. And this cost center already has input values.

Can I find out, with user has deleted all cost estimates with CKR1?

ich have a major problem: all our standard material don't have a cost estimate any more, because a unknown user has deleted all current cost estimates. Can I find out, with user has used the CKR1 transaction? And much more importend: how can I solve the problem? Do I need to re-calculate all the material?

Hi,
you have to make the costing run, marking, releasing again but thats not the whole work.
If there are PP-orders that have been created based on the old/deleted plan cost estimates, the variance calculation will not work as the plan cost estimate is missing (even if the new one is released in the same period).
Thus variance calculation is not possible for those orders... You have to settle the whole balance to receiver object by removing the variance key in PP-order. Try first for one particualr order to see if there are some other problems that need to be solved during month-end-closing.
How to find out who has executed CKR1 (SAPCKR1): Check authorizations for (hopefully) a small number of user who are allowed to use CKR1.
Use T-Code ST03N, in the left upper window double-click "total" (maybe click a day if you can imagine which (possible) date it was). In lower left section open "user and settlement statistics" and then click "user profile". Now go to each possible user and look for T-Code CKR1.
This can be time-consuming but its worth a try...
For the future: restrict CKR1 to a very small number of user (and they should be well trained...). I once had a company (with poor authorization concept) but CKR1 was blocked in SM01 and a ZCKR1 was created and in this Z-transaction USER-name was checked (if SY-USNAM...) so only the use names named in this Z-program were allowed to use ZCKR1. Not the best way but sufficient for them...

Error in Cost Center Hierarchy

Dear all,
When I delete all cost center in standard hierarchy by tcode OKC4, some cost centers still appear in cost center hierarchy with activation status is "red". How to delete all cost center with "red" activation status in this case ?
When I check these cost centers by tcode KS02 or KS03, the system raises information "No data exist" but when I create cost center with the same code by tcode OKEON, the system raise error "Cost center already exist".
So how to solve the problem ? I want to clear all the cost center in standard hierarchy and create again in DEV (No transaction data existed).

Hi,
Go to OKEON - Menu - Extras - Hierarchy-Master Data - Comparison and see what's the output. Genrally, you are not supposed to delete cost centres from the standard hierarchy.

Cost Center Groups can be deleted using the Message Type COGRP1.
Please populate the Message Function (MSGFN) as '003' in the Segment E1COGH
Please make use of the required logic from the report RGSALECC inorder to create Idocs for the same.

Deleting cost Center.

Hello All,
I want to delete few cost centers. these were reated before Go-live , but now the user staes that they will not be required and can be deleted. No Transactional data has been recorded against the same. the problem that i face while deleting the Cost center when i run the deletion in Test mode using transaction KS04. it says that " Deletion not possible (usage is in table T811C) "

In cost center Master Data, KS03, with your cost center, enter the page and then through the following -
On the Title Bar - Environment - Where Used List - Fixed Assets
It would show, if assets are assigned, the number and details of the assets.
In the same way check your cost center and its environment.
I tried using a cost center which had assets and it wouldn't delete as values (Fixed Assets) were registered with it.
Moreover, the Table T811C and its details can be checked in SE11. The blue highlighted are the fields which have values in your cost center.

WF_Batch id deletes cost center from euipment master data - IE02

how to trace this.. we have checked some of our equipment master data that wf_batch id has deleted its cost center..how can we work from this..how to trace which programs/function did it.. is it purely coming from workflow ?

there is an error, should be:
Loop at it_tab.
refresh it_cost.
or:
'BAPI_COSTCENTER_CREATEMULTIPLE'
should be outside loop it_tab....

I executed the test run in KS04. I can't delete the cost center as it already has posting till period 07/30/2008. ( I had mentioned this before as well)
Is it that I'll have to wait till the end of the validity period to delete the cost center? If yes, then do I have to change the validity to say todays date and then delete it?
The postings to this cost center have stopped since August. No one posts to this cost center. So I guess there is no need to block the postings.

Now when other team see cost centers it display all data booked there but my client want to restrict some HR data from them
In my project there are 151 roles that can display cost center dat including HR data,
Now my requirment is how can I restrict only HR data belongs to a cost center
I mean to say they should be able to see all cost center data exept a cost center containing HR data.
Please advise how to get solution

while using KS04 transaction , if user deletes any cost center , the cost center is to be populated in that report ,
main requirement is to fetch data of deleted cost center in the hierarchy
but the main problem is that when i delete the cost center , the detials in CSKS table will automatically deleted
