Designing Work Center & Assigning in Routing For Textile Industry

Dear All
  There are around 20 Looms in weaving.As per clients requirement to map indvidual Loom efficiency each loom is considered as indvidual work center.In routing its possible to assign only one work center.
  Kindly suggest me how to map this scenerio.The client requires machine wise output.Should i raise 20 Production orders for indvidual Work centers.

Maintaining Individual Capacities in the workcenter,
Prerequisites
Individual capacities are used in capacity planning for more detailed resource planning. For instance, you can divide a machine capacity into several individual machines and maintain an available capacity for each machine. Capacity requirements can then be distributed among the individual capacities. If you do not maintain an available capacity for an individual capacity, it is calculated from the operating time of the capacity to which the individual capacity has been assigned.
Individual capacities have the same capacity categories as the capacities to which they are assigned.
In order to be able to create individual capacities the CapCatPers indicator for the capacity category must not be set in Customizing.
Procedure
Assigning Individual Capacities
On the header screen choose Goto ® Individual capacities.
The Assignments to Individual Capacities screen appears.
Define the individual capacities.
Maintaining Available Capacities for Individual Capacities
In the Assignments to Individual Capacities screen place the cursor on the individual capacity whose available capacity you want to maintain.
If the Maintnd indicator has been set, then an available capacity has been maintained for this individual capacity.

    Made to Order Strategy:
    Every times customer sends the specification of product. Specification format as given below:
    Ex. 80x100/154x80*3-118u201D 4/1 Twill
    Details of specifications:
         80: Count of EPI (Ends Per Inch)
         100: Count of PPI (Picks Per Inch)
         154: EPI
         80: PPI
         3: Insertation
         118u201D u2013 Width in Inch
         4/1 Twill : Design of Fabric
    Operations Details:
    1 Warping
    2. Sizing
    3. Weaving
    4. Quality Inspection
    5. Packing
    As Is Business Process:
    There are mainly four production lines viz. Warping, Sizing, Weaving and Quality Inspection. For all the production lines the individual machine work centers will be as listed below with brief description:
    1.     Sectional Warping:
    A kind of Warping specially used to prepare fabrics for shirting. In sectional warping dyed yarns are used to prepare warping beam. The end constraint of sectional warping is 720 ends at a time. The actual capacity of Sectional warping is 800 MTR/min.  This activity is job work for DEESAN group.
    2.     Direct warping:
    Direct warping process is used to prepare warping beam. The end constraint of warping is 1088 ends per beam. Machine width of the beam in 2200 mm, speed of warping varying from 300 MTR to 1200 MTR per minute depending upon the construction required. It has backup procedure for next round. Uploading speed   for single yarn is 8 yarn / min / person.
    3.      Sizing:
    Sizing process is used to prepare specific number of EPI/ beam as per the requirement of construction. A calculated no of warp beam used to prepare a single sizing beam. Speed of sizing 45 to 55 MTR / minute depending on the requirement of fabric.     
    4.     Preparation of Drawing:
    This process is used to preparation of new drawing for the loom machine. Drawing includes frame & reed. It will take 12 hr for 2 persons to prepare a single drawing i.e. 8000 ends per shift. This activity given as job work to some group of people.      
    5.     Weaving:
    Two types of weaving machines used are CAM and DOBBY. Fabric to fabric PPI is varying, the capacity of loom machine depends upon the PPI so the capacity of loom machines varying with the type of fabric. CAM is used specially for plain fabrics.
    6.     Quality Inspection:
    The beams of fabrics coming from looming machine are inspected on Inspection machine. 100% fabrics are inspected on QA machine for further grading, which is then bifurcated in Export, Local and chindi type.
    7.     Rolling:
    Rolling machine is used for rolling of inspected fabric on card board rolls according to the quality of fabric. A roll contain of maximum 350 MTR of fabric. Which are then packed with LDPE followed by HDPE with appropriate coding on rolls.
    Material Requirement:
    For ex. 80x100/154x90*3-118u201D 4/1 Twill
    Order Qty.: 20000 M
    Currently they are using single level BOM.
    Formulas for calculate raw material requirements as given below:
    Warp wt / mtr = (EPIWidthCrimp) /(1693*Count of EPI)
              = (154 * 118 * 1.025)/(1693 * 80)
              = 0.137524
              = 0.138 Kg/Mtr
    Weft wt / mtr  = (PPIInsertationWidth * Crimp) /(1693*Count of PPI)
              = (9031181.025)/(1693100)
              = 0.192891
              = 0.193 Kg/Mtr
    Total Qty req:
    Warp = 0.138 * 20000 + add 5% loss
         = 2898 KG
    Weft = 0.193 * 20000 + add 4% loss
         = 4014 KG
    Packaging material requirement :
    1. Paper tube = Total order qty / approximately for 300 m 1 paper tube required + 5% loss
              = 20000 / 300 *1.05
              = 70
    2. HDPE sheet = No. of paper tube * 0.4 KG
          = 70 * 0.4
         = 28 KG
    3. LDPE sheet = No. of paper tubes * 0.15 KG
              = 70 * 0.15
              = 10.5 KG
    Chemical consumption in terms of yarn on KG basis. Its combination of 4-6 chemicals depends on construction to construction also material availability.
    Note: We will consume chemicals against cost center.
    Production planning at execution time:
    Sizing and warping calculation:
    1.     Sizing :
    EPI per inch = 154
    On loom will be = 154 * 1.025
               = 157.85
    Total no of ends for 118u201D width = 157.85 * 118
                        = 18626
    Add one more ends per 1000 ends = 18626 / 1000
                        = 19 ends
    Total no of ends  = 18626 + 19
              = 18645 for  sizing
    Warping :
    Warping m/c capacity of output is 1088 Ends per set/beam.
    Speed of machine 300-1200 MPM.
    So for sizing we need 18645 ends. Now we want to calculate no warp set required for sizing & no. of ends per warp set.
    Ends required per set = 18645 / 18 = 1036
         i.e. 18 * 1036 = 1 Sizing set
    We need total yarn on KG basis
    Issue related to BOM:
    1.     How We can feet below 2 issues in BOM
    a.     we want to calculate RM(Yarn) material requirement in Unit of  u201CENDu201D
    NOTE: Procurement of Raw material Unit- KG as well as it depends no. of ends required for warp set / beam. i.e. its multiple of yarn cone required for 1 warp set.
    As per Bom of Raw Martial Unit- Ends (EA)
    b.     Also we want to calculate no of warp set required for sizing and no of ends required for warping process.

  • Dynamic work center assignment

    Hi,
    In our process for each process (operation) there are more than one physical work center.
    The assignment of the order to each work center is decided only at the time of operation execution.
    How can we map this scenario?
    Can we change the work center during the confirmation at operation level?

    Dear Ramakanth,
    1) Yes , when you enter order number & operation number, system will pick the work center
    from Prd order in CO11N
    2) Now just change the work center as required, system will not stop you
    3) coming to costs, Variance will be calculated for changed work center

  • Work Center Changes need data for previous and new work center

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement as the organisation is going through RESTRUCTURING. In ECC in Plant Maintainance they are changing Work Center. E.G.
    Work Center OLD : ABC
    Work Center NEW : XYZ
    Now the requirement is I have data for ABC already coming in BI Prod. Env. Now when they will change ABC to XYZ the new data will come for XYZ.
    Reporting Reqmt:
    Data In Cube
    Work Center     No. of Maintainence Orders
    ABC                             10
    XYZ                             20
    When user run the report it should and gives input in Work Center variable as " XYZ" then
    XYZ -- 30
    Presently it is showing
    ABC --10
    XYZ --20
    They have list of OLD Work Center mapping to NEW Work Center.
    Now, Can anyone tell me is it possible to achive this scenario.

  • Work center assignment HR - PS

    Hi everyone
    is there anything else to do to assign work center in HR except what I've already accomplished:
    1. work centers have been created in CR01and customized in OP42
    2. via T-Code PO01 I assigned a work center to a position (connection A!003).
    What else should be done? How can I see the work center in organizational plan (PPOSE) besides Detailed description of an object???
    Will PS team-members be able to observe my work center from HR in their T-Codes???

    you cannot see ur work center directly in the Org.Structure.Please use this report RHXSTR06 which will give the existing work centers that are assigned to ur Organization Unit.

    1. Go to PP01,  Select the Object Person, and Check the Infotype 1001 Relationship, Select Overview and check the
    the entries, whether the Person is related to any Work Center.
    2. Or note down the person, Position Number in IT0001,  Go to PP01, Select the Object Position, Give the Position Number, and  Check the Infotype 1001 Relationship, Select Overview and check the the entries, whether the Position is related to any Work Center.
    You can check either way,  if you have assigned the Person - Work center relationship you can use the first one
    If you have assigned the Position - Work center relation ship you can use the second one.

    The main question is Which product family should be implemented Discrete or Process and which modules of that family?

    You need to use a seperate Nomenclature for all the Finished products, which are uniquely identified. This is possible with Oracle Inventory module.
    Like 9999999colxyz
    Numeric represent year/mont/date (if reqd)
    Col represents Actual color of thread/wool
    xyz represents Any other attribute of the thread/wool
    So you can use this kind of Item codification for better tracing and marketing.

    i need few informations  regarding work center.
    1. Can we create Resource (for process industry) similar to that as Work center which we create for (discreate industry)
       can i use the workcenters (CR01) instead of Resource(CRC1) to my master recipe. is there any impact by using workcenter instead of resource to master recipe..?
    2 In foundry we are using some Iron Plates for resting of Moulds. And these Plates we are having in limited numbers in Foundry.
    Arond 30  Now  i want to create a resource for this..? How to consider this Plates for resource..? Whether M/C or what..?
    We are planning to carry out Proper scheduling and capacity planning for this resource.
    3. And May i know how to carry out Proper scheduling and capacity planning of resource.. So if capacity is not available ,i should be not able to go-head even with the releasing of order. How to carry out this. Is any customization required.
    4. Can we create combined resource  Ex: Crane  and laddle.
    I need to create these two resource has single resource ..is it possible..? may i know how the costs/ time to capture.?

    Yes you can with Usage Type 009.But there may be diffienece in Standard Value Key and Formula Key  which will be used  for calcuating activity  and also Capacity Reuiqemenet .

    A resource is plance where certain operation will happend sequentially as per Master Recipe or Routing .If you have Plate where you carry our certain engineering optiaon rather utlising thoem at requorce to excute the opration , then you can very well create them as resource or work centre .This Resource /Work centre will be having optaion , material , scheuling , CRP etc .Do u think that u will doing the same for Plate ??

    Yes you can  if both of them are intregal part of the resource /work centre as per as Setup , Machine , labour hrs is concern based on selection of Standard value Key and Formula Key .Wor centre or Reosurce cost captured through Actvity type ( KP26  with fixed or variable rate aginst costing elenemts) and Formula Key as assinged in the reosurce or work centre -Costing tab .

    In the forum I found that you had used some "drops", that require a password to view.
    In these forums, the only links I post are public (help.sap.com) and from SAP support (service.sap.com/support).  SAP Support is mostly available only to customers and partners of SAP.  If you meet these criteria, and need a login for the SAP support site, contact the license administrator for your company's SAP licence (this is usually a Basis person).  If you cannot locate this person in your company, contact Service Marketplace directly (service.sap.com/mp).  Alternatively you can contact your local SAP Sales office and speak to your account administrator.
    Maybe it would be a better idea to group all standard solutions in one place.
    I expect it will be so...in Nirvana.  Here, life still entails suffering.
    With respect to your detailed questions, I would have a hard time answering, I have never used recordings in LSMW to create work centers, I always use standard batch/direct input.  I suspect that the VGEXX items are the units of measure from CRHD, I suspect LARXX items are activities from CSSL, and I couldn't comment on FORXX items without doing some research.
    This is the SCM PP forum.  You might get more answers posting this in the ERP PP forum SAP ERP Manufacturing - Production Planning (SAP PP) , since work centers/routings/recipes/BOMs are more or less irrelevant in SCM.

  • Employee Responsible for a work center

    Good Morning,
    We use Project Systems in order to do project management within SAP.  We use the work center to define the team structure.  I know that there is a place to maintain the person responsible for a work center in the config, but the entry here is a text field.  We are trying to link the owner of a workcenter back to the reporting structure that can be pulled from HRP1001, and a text field makes it more difficult to track this back to the HR side.  We currently enter the name of a manager in this field, and if there is no other place to define the person responsible using a pernr, we'll have to start using this field to enter personnel number.  This will allow ABAP to pull the pernr and trace it to a position number on HRP1001.  I'd like to keep the manager name in this field if at all possible though.  Any help will be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

    Assign the Rates for an activity type & cost center combination using T code KP26.
    In the input screen of T code KP26 ,enter version as 0, from period 1 and to period as 12 and the Fiscal
    Year as 2009,enter the cost center, activity type click on overview screen (F5) & enter the per hour Rate
    After performing this in work center assign activity type & cost center
    should be assigned. Then while creating routing/task list this work center can assigned for performing
    as per the operation time, whichu2019s used by the work center, the cost is getting calculated.
    Overhead cost is the indirect cost which's spent during production.
    So when the cost rollup is taken using T code CK40N (or else using CK11N estimating & CK24 for

    In my scenario im grouping the similar m/c to a work center
    say for ex. 4 lathes m/c into a single work center as LatheALL and also the indiv cap as 4
    my customer wants the traceability in which m/c the job is done
    So i had designed in such a way that
    1 LatheALL -4 cap(this will be additional wc)
    2. lathe1 - 1cap
    3.lathe2 - 1cap
    4.lathe3-1cap
    5.lathe4-1cap
    in the routing only latheALL will be given., this will help customer in planning
    when going for operation confirmation i will give confirmation for that operation and will confirm as lathe1or lathe2  or etc.. this will help prodn dept for traceability in which m/c the work is done
    this is method i have informed to client .,
    pls advice is this approach is correct ?
    also suggest by giving confirmation for another work center will the capacity for the original work center will be reduced

    yes, during confirmation time to enter the orginal actual work center, this suitable for your client requirement, do the settings for OPK0 - change the confirmations parameters (0410 or 0420)

  • Activity Types for a Work Center

    Dear Experts,
    I have done KL01 and KP26 transactions. That is I ahve defined the activity and assignes a cost conter to it.
    Still, when I am trying to enter the activity type in costing tab while creating the work center, the system throws an error as "No activity types are assigned to the cost center XXXXX, controlling area XXXXX....."
    The Msg No. is CR 091.
    Please guide me to find out where I am missing something?
