Development Configurations in the SLD

When a track is created, its Development Configuration is stored in the SLD. I can see this activity in the SLD's Server log, but I don't see otherwise where I can see a list of Development Configurations stored in the SLD. Anyone?

Hello Randy,
On the SLD main page navigate to Content Browser. On the subsequent page in the <b>subset</b> select "All Classes" and in the class dropdown select "Design Time Configuration". All the development configurations will be listed.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

  • Unable to import Development Configuration at the NWDS

    Hello,
    I am trying to import a Development Configuration at the NWDS after successfully created a track.
    When I do that I receive this error message:
    Client J2E_APPL_D: absoluteLocalRoot
    (='C:\workspaceDC\1\') is already used by another client.
    1. I am the only one who is using this Development Configuration.
    2. There is no such folder 1 under my workspaceDC folder.
    Why is this happening and what can I do to solve it?

    Thank you very much Pascal.
    Problem solved indeed.
    For some reason it is possible to give points at the moment but I promise I'll do that once it will be corrected.

  • Name server not updated in development configuration after change of SLD

    Hi Guys
    Hope you can help me with this one.
    We have moved our SLD from one server to another.
    After this we changed the name server in NWDI and in NWDS.
    In NWDS i removed the development configuration and reimported it, but when I do this, a popup box shows the details of the development configuration and the name server is still the old SLD server. This means that when I start the NWDS I get an error saying that the name server host is unreachable.
    Where do I change this?
    I found out that the name server is setup in the .confdef file under .dtc\0 in the field called name-server-url. If I change this manually in the file, it works. But if I remove the development configuration and reimport it again, I am taken back to the old name server again.
    It seems as if something has to be changed in NWDI, but I can't figure out what.
    Can anybody help?
    Cheers,
    Jacob Vennervald

    Hi Jacob,
    I would proceed as follows:<br><br>
    -  login to your new SLD<br>
    -  go to the technical systems in the landscape area of the SLD<br>
    -  in the filter drop down select AS JAVA<br>
    - check if your NWDI has reported to this SLD in the last 12 or 24 hours, you can check this on the "last update" column<br>
    - if your system has reported to this sld the last few hours this is good if not go to the step "change J2ee to new sld" i will descirbe later.<br>
    - remember the name of the system here. it is like sid on dbhostname.<br>
    -  got to sld administration (link on top) choose content maintenace in administration<br>
    - in the subset filter select "All with instances" as class set SAP AS JAVA Cluster<br>
    - you should find your system there. click on it.<br>
    - in the new screen find a link in the middle top <nr> associated instances -> click it<br>
    - in the next screen you will see the relationship of the technical system to the rest of the sld data.<br>
    - there should be a topic called "hosted application server"<br>
    - the should be an entry like: system landscape directory: sld on sid on server -> click it<br>
    - here you will see the data for this hosted system. You can find the cim/url definig the SLD you will find the roles. Landscape and name server should assigend and so on here you can chage the SLD url. <br><br>
    You can although proceed as follows. This as well requieres you nwdi to report and use this sld in j2ee see below if not.<br>
    - on sld startscreen choose landscapes in the landscapes part of sld<br>
    - select landscape type nwdi systems<br>
    - if there is no landscape you can create one<br>
    - in the landscape ypu can assinge systems. The sld should be availabel to choose.<br>
    - once in the landscape you can view the system and you can change the CIM Server url and the roles there aswell its just another view on the content.<br>
    <br>
    you can although check:<br>
    - open name reservation from develpoment part of start screen<br>
    - here you should find a button about enabling or disabling the sld for nwdi usege. this should be of course enabled...<br>
    <br>
    <b>"change J2ee to new sld" <br>Ok and here what to do or to check if you are not sure if your NWDI uses/reports to the new sld.</b><br>
    - Go to the nwdi server an open Visual admin i asume you are running a 7.0 Di if not let me knoe i can although tell you for CE.<br>
    - ok in VA. select on of your server nodes->services->SLD data supplier.<br>
    - an overview page will show up.<br>
    - select the http settings tab in the lower middle.<br>
    - https settings will tell the j2ee where to report to. Verify the data and change if needed. use the lightinigbolt button on top to transfer data to the sld. have a little patiance if your data is not shown immediately in your sld,. it may take 1-2 minutes until it is shown in the gui.<br>
    - switch to cim client generation tab. those paraemters will tell your j2ee from what sld to read data from. It is important to understand that you may report to one sld but to read from antioher. depending on your sld landscape. The CIm CLient should use the same Sld as your NWDI uses in CMS setting.<br>
    - if all is setup. do a cim client test.<br>
    <br><br>
    Allright. This is all I know on how the NWDI is integrated in SLD. Hope you can resolve your problem wiht this steps.
    <br>
    Have a good time<br>

    Hi,
    Then check whether the dependencies are missing in SLD between Development Configuration (Design Time Configuration) and CMS
    Select the problematic Design Time Configuration from the SLD->Administration -> Content Maintenance ->  Landscape Description and see in details whether Associated Instances  is '0'. If so, delete and set proper dependencies as per the JDI installation doc.
    Then from the CMS, save the affected track. If 'restore system state' is asked for, do it after saving.
    Thereafter, import dev. config in NWDS should work fine.

    I want to import a development configuration in nwds 7.0 but there is no name server found. I have configured the name server in the dtr but i couldn't find the configuration in the sld. Thus the name prefixes aren't transfered to the nwds. How can i configure that?

  • How to delete Development Configuration entries

    I have used document "How To... Setup CM Services" to configure NWDI with CTS+ for a Portal environment.
    My STMS configuration in the CTS+ server looks like this:
    EPU -> EPD -> EPQ -> EPP
    EPU = Upload System
    EPD = Development
    EPQ = Quality
    EPP = Production
    Everything was going ok but by mistake I created the upload system in the CTS+ environment with the option "Create development configuration" and this generated an entry in the Development Configuration of the NWDI which I am not able to erase because the delete option is not active. I have tried to fix it by deleting the system EPU in the STMS of my CTS+ server but even though I no longer see the system in STMS I still see it in the NWDI.
    How can I delete Development Configuration entries? Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    For the sake of completeness;
    Solution: Direct call to Web Service using the Web Service Navigator:
    1)     Call http(s)://<host>:<port>/wsnavigator
    2)     Click on u201CProvider Systemu201D, then u201CSearchu201D, then in the table u201CDIConfigurationServiceViu201D:
    3)     Click on u201CNextu201D, then u201CdeleteDISystemu201D
    4)     Click on u201CNextu201D, then remove all u201CSkipu201D ticks,  set certificate to u201CanySimpleTypeu201D, u201Cpasswordu201D to the password of the system, u201Cuser Nameu201D to the user, u201CsystemIDu201D to the name of the development configuration:
    5)     Click on u201CNextu201D. The development configuration should now be gone.

  • How to import all the configuration for the developed adapter

    After developed the adapter, there are many steps remains to deploy and use in the XI server.
    1)Creating a New Product and Software Component Version in SLD
    2)Define the Technical and Business Systems in the SLD
    3)Define Business scenarios, design Data types and Message Interfaces and etc in Repository
    4)Configuring the Scenario in the Integration Directory
    The four steps above are a little complex, I know there are ways to export and import these object seperately, but how could I export all these objects and configurations in these four steps into one package as a whole and import it as a whole too without import one by one?

    Hello Mints
    Wow - sounds like you've attacked XI from the big end, developing an adapter before doing any XI development!
    There is no way to bundle all these things into a single "package", they all have their own mechanisms:
    1) Products and Software Component Versions can be exported from the SLD into a zip file which can then be imported into another SLD at your own or a customer site.
    2) Technical and Business Systems are specific to an installation or site, so they are never "packaged". They can, however, be "transported" using the SLDs export/import mechanism if you are running a multi-SLD setup within your landscape.
    3) Repository objects <i>are</i> meant to be packaged. Use the export functionality in the Integration Builder to create a .tpz file on the XI server that can be moved to another XI repository and imported. Exports can be done at the Software Component Version level (usual for packaging and distribution), the namespace level or for individual objects.
    4) Configuration is a per-site activity (see point 2). You might, however, include a Communication Channel Template in your Repository export to help customers configure your adapter.
    5?) Don't forget that the adapter must also be deployed using SDM before it can be used!

  • The version 0000000075 of development configuration is now available

    Hi experts,
    when im loging into nwdi im getting pop up with below message , can u please explain what is the verison 0000000075 and why is it asking for that..
    The version 0000000075 of development configuration is now available
    Do you want to update the development Configuration ?
    Regards
    Govardan Raj

    Hi Govardan,
    a track has a server side development config (created as per the domain data settings and track data settings i.e. includes cbs, dtr, cms url, sld nameserver and the software component dependencies).
    It is an XML file you can check in CMS webui -- Track Data -- Build variants -- display development config.
    If you create a devconfig in your NWDS, then this XML file is getting synced to your local space (this is the file called .confdef).
    After this no more sync is getting done, but the locally stored .confdef is used by the devconfig, so it knows, which cms, dtr, cbs , sld to contact, etc. in other words: how to use the track.
    If you change on the server side devconfig (by changing on say cbs, dtr or sld url or SC dependency setup) then NWDS recognizes that its locally stored .confdef became outdated.
    This is why you have that popup that the server side devconf version XY is now available and you can make the locally stored one up to date.
    I hope this answers your question.
    Best Regards,
    Ervin

  • SLD installation - easy and quick configuration to activate the SLD

    Dear All,
    I am installing a SLD in a separate server, base on AS-JAVA usage type.
    I am reading guide from http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-sld.
    After installing the SLD, I read that "You only have to perform the easy and quick configuration to activate the system landscape directory there. No further installation required, only quick configuration to activate SLD in a system."
    My question :
    Is there a guide to perform the easy and quick configuration" ?
    Thanks for your input
    Best regards
    SAP NetWeaverAdmin

    Hello,
    When you define iit as SLD in the installation phase it should come as preconfigured.
    All you need to do is check whether things are active and bring the system to latest CIM.
    Then start adding other system to this new SLD as per standard method.
    Once you finish the installation of the system http://hostname:5<instance number>00/sld needs to be run.
    Check if that URL is active and in administration link check if the SLD is running.
    That should be it.
    Regards

  • Where the SLD is configured and running for entire landscape.

    Hi!...
    Where the SLD is configured and running for entire landscape.How do i find it out
    i guess, it's configured on solution manager. So,how to check? Can anyone please explain me step by step.
    Thanks.

    Hi Irfan,
    SLD is configured using SMSY transaction. You can use SMSY transaction and there you can see what are all the systems that have been added to the Solution Manager System Landscape.
    Different nodes are available for products, systems, logical components in the system landscape.
    Dont forget to reward for useful answers.

    what is the posibility of configuring Universal Worklist and developing iviews in the portal in BI?

    Hi,
    You will be able to see only the worklist items in your UWL window. Please go to  the SAP BW inbox and check if some workflow e-mails are there.
    If workflow e-mails are there, then it is a config issue in your configuration of UWL.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP XI 3.0 - Error while reading the ID of own business system from the SLD

    Error while reading the ID of own business system from the SLD for system Quality (QOC) and Client 100.
    I get this error in the SXMN_MONI.  The business process is that the Interface to send master schedule and finished inventory from the legacy system to SAP to create planned orders in SAP for all Plants.
    I could able to get "SUCCESSFULLY PROCESSED" in development and production.  But only in Quality I getting this error.  Could anyone help me to fix this issue.
    thanks...

    Probably, its due to incorrect RFC Adapter properties in config.
    Go to Integration COnfiguration. Double Click on the Business System for your R/3 system. On the right hand screen, Click  on Service-->Adapter Specific Parameters.
    Check whether the Logical System Name comes up as SAP<SID> and whether R/3 system ID and Client are appropriate.
    If these values are inappropriate, make changes to the corresponding Technical System defined in the SLD. After you have made the necessary corrections, come back to Integration COnfiguration, Double click on Business SYstem for R/3. Switch to Edit Mode. Click on Service-> Adapter Specific Parameters and then click on the Icon between Apply and Cancel buttons, inorder to compare with SLD and make those values reflect in config. Then click on Apply and Save the Business System.
    After this, you can retry sending the message.

  • Error when reading the ID of the business system from the SLD

    Hi,
    I am working on a scenario JDBC - XI - BW (ABAP Proxies). I configured all the steps required to connect XI & BW systems. The SLDCHECK transaction is all green. I was able to connect to SLD from BW using SXMB_IFR tcode too. I was able to look at all the XI Repository interfaces from SPROXY tcode in BW. Created a new ABAP proxy (class interface and method) for the message interface in XI from BW (SPROXY Tcode). Created all required config in XI Directory. Got the message from JDBC adapter, mapping done successfully, and the message failed in the CALL Adapter Step.
    The error is "Error when reading the ID of the business system from the SLD for system BWS and client 100."
    What could have gone wrong. Thanks in advance.

  • Visualizing SAP XI routing configuration across the system landscape

    Hi Experts
    Iam facing some challenges in visualizing SAP XI routing configuration across the system landscape (Development, Quality, Production). Basically routing is based on a field (technical target system). Depending on the environment we have different target systems (different Mainframe DB that represent the same target system) configured.
    Any word/excel/ppt/pdf templates or any comments that could help visualizing routing would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks! Santosh

    Hi Santhosh,
    If you are worrieed about how your Business Systems will change when you move from Dev to QA to PROD for the Configuration in your ID, then the answer is simple.
    You can create transport target for your Business System and so when you migrate the ID objects from dev to Qa and so on, the business Systems will be automatically replaced.
