Difference in planned depreciation value because of wrong positing of unpla

Hi All,
1.     Unplanned depreciation has been posted in last fiscal year.
2.     Amount posted in IGAAP was higher than IFRS value.
3.     Now planned value of depreciation in being calculated by system is not equal for both books (IFRS / IGAAP) because of difference in unplanned depreciation posted in last year.
Example "
IFRS -01 AREA- 765431.89
IGGAP-02 AREA- 765431.78       = 0.11 difference in 01 and 02 areas.
T.codeABCO i posted unplanned depreciation in 01 area after posting 01 and 01 unplanned depreciation amount are same but Planned depreciation values show 0.11 difference.
Please suggest what steps needs t be followed to settle this difference of depreciation in both books.
Thanks in advance

Hi Kishore,
please check if area 03 = - 01 + 02 and you have special settings in OADB for area 03.
In this case the system  makes roundigs to fulfill this settings.

  • Planned depreciation value for each period

    Hi,
Where can I get the planned depreciation value for each period? I need the fields for customised report.
    Thank you

    Hi,
You can get the dep planned values for the each period by using SAP standard report S_ALR_87012936.
In the selection screen of that report, click on All selections button on application tool bar. Then you will be able to see the all the available fields for selection.
    Choose evaluation period as Month.
Now execute it. After getting output, you need to go for change layout and adopt fileds like Dep 01-2010, Dep 02-2010, Dep 03-2010....Etc till Dep 12-2010.
    This will fix your requirement.
    Thanks,

  • SAP Planned Depreciation Values

    Hi,
Can anybody suggest how can I bring the total planned depreciation values (month wise).
I would like to know the structure, table or function module.
We have tried with function module ANEP_AFARECHNEN but notfetching the results.
I know ANLC table shows the values but only for the years that are roll-forwarded by the system.
But, I want the planned depreciation values for complete life of the asset.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
For depreciation planned value by month, it should be calculated using the total value from table ANLC by double checking program AW01N perhaps storing in work area within the program.
As for depreciaiont posted monthly from acquisition up until now, table ANLP shall gives the details monthly.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Display planned depreciation values for depre areas

    Hi,
I have 2 depreciation areas, 01 for book and 04 for local depreciation.
How do I display the periodic depre values for 04 in asset explorer posted values tab  if I don't want to maintain a derived depre area?
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi,
if area 04 does not post, you will not get any info on the "posted" values tab. Simply because this area does NOT post to G/L then.
Only parallel depreciation areas, or real depreciation areas which are part of the definition of a POSTING derived depreciation area get also period values stored, this is the exception.  But a standalone real depreciation area, which does not post and which is not parallel will not store period depreciation values.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFRENCE BET WENN PLANNED DEPRECIATION AND UNPLANNED DEPRECIAT

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PLANNED DEPRECIATION AND UNPLANNED DEPRECIATION

    Hi
Usually depreciatio is planned for all the assets from the date of purchase of the asset based on cost of asset, useful life of asset, scrap value , etc.
In Planned depreciation we depreciate the asset as per our planned figures for the entire life of the asset
where as in unplanned depreciation, depreciation is not as per our planned figures, it may vary due to fire, theft, partial damage, etc.
Here not only the depreciation amount but also the useful life of the asset will be effected.

  • Planned Depreciation Reports by period

    Hello SAP Experts,
Currently we use Asset Explorer (AW01N) to see the planned values for an asset by period before depreciation is run.  We need to make many manual depreciation adjustments and would like to know if there is a report that lists all assets in a company code with the planned depreciation value by period.
I thought this value is calculated real time (ad-hoc) and is not stored anywhere in a table or no such report exists.
Does anyone know of a report or a table where I could these values?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jessie

    Hi Jessie,
Try using S_ALR_87012936 - Depreciation on Capitalized Assets (Depreciation Simulation) .
There are a couple of standard variants - 1_SAP_1_LINE and /SAP_1_LINE - calculating the planned depreciation for 5 respectively for next 12 periods.
    Hope this helps

  • FM for Planned depreciation amount  for assets

    Hello everyone,
Is there any FM / method (FM other than 'AM_SHOW_POST_DEPR') to find planned depreciation values of assets.
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi,
These values are calculated during the deprieciation run.
Dont think you have any standard fm's for this.
you can go through transaction s_alr_87012004  & s_alr_87012936 for more details

  • Rem order plan value exist for  difference between  PO & GR value

    Dear Experts ,
In PS  report S_ALR_87013558  it is found that  the difference between Service PO & GR value is reflecting in Rem. Order plan.
    against the WBS.
According to my understanding the difference between Material PO value & GR value reflects as outstanding commitment. Hence I assume that the same should happen in case of Service procurement also.
Kindly let me know whether the reporting is correct or not.
If the reporting is incorrect, then what could be the reason for the same and how this problem can be tackled.
    Regards,
    Vishal

    Hi
Check if you have ticked remaining order plan value updation under costing in customization (both check boxes). If those are checked your plan value becomes assigned values always and if there is any residue it will be there under plan value.
Also note that for service PO, once all entry sheets are posted, for final entry sheet user should click FINAL ENTRY in SES. It will remove any residual commitment.

  • Depreciation value not shown under the tab 'posted value' in AW01N

    Dear experts
I have in chart of depreciation US GAAP book(posted to G/L), local GAAP book(not posted), book to post difference of two GAAP(posted to G/L), and local tax book.
In AW01N, the ordinary depreciation value is shown correctly for all books in the first tab 'planned values',
But on the second tab 'posted values', depreciation value only shown for the US GAAP book.
I'm thinking it maybe relavant with posting to G/L or not, that means only book with posting to G/L is shown with deprecation value on the second tab.
But something strange is in another chart of deprecation, deprecation value is shown for US book, local book.
Could someone comment how to control deprecation value shown or not on the second tab by local book?
    Best Regards,
    Nicole

    Hi,
If you would have mentioned it as a "area post in real time" it will show you in the aw01n. If not, it will not show. Because, the tab specifies the posted values which means how much depreciation posted to GL.
As you have put "area doesnot post" for the local book, it will not show the balance.
    Thanks,
    sravankumar

  • How to clear planned depreciation amount

We had a purchase order that was incorrectly coded to post to an asset account, instead of an AUC, so when invoice receipt was processed, the asset was posted with the value.
This asset was capitalized in Aug 2006 (although the first depreciation was not run until Nov 2006).  It had a useful life of one year.  So, when the invoice receipt was posted in August 2007, the net book value of the asset was zero and there were no future planned depreciation amounts (the first depreciation run posted 4 months worth of depreciation amount).
In Asset Explorer, the posting from the invoice receipt (MIRO) showed 'Ord Depr' as $73k, but when we reversed the invoice (using MR8M), this posting showed 'Ord Depr' as $121k.   The difference is $48k and the system is showing this as the Planned Net Book Value.   This is causing the asset to have 'planned depreciation amounts' for the next few months, even though the Posted NEt Book Value is zero.
Why does the invoice reversal showing a different Ord Depr amount from the original invoice (both have the same document date and posting date)?   And how do we clear out the $48k?
    thank you,
    Lanny

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for the answer.   Yes, I can see from the period in depreciation key why the system is calculating the $121k when we reversed the invoice.    I think the question now is how do we fix this so the asset will not have the 'planned' depreciation amount?   I changed the value in Expired Useful Life in the asset depreciation areas so that all 12 months of the asset life has expired.  I then use AFAR to recalculate depreciation, but nothing happens.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Planned Depreciation Changed - Recalculation of Depreciation

When we are displaying any asset through AS03 system shows message " value of Ordinary deprec. have changed in dep. area 01 in fiscal year 2009 for all the assets.
If we click on the message system shows following diagnosis
Values for Ordinary deprec. have changed in dep. area 01 in fiscal year 2009Message no. AU390
    Diagnosis
Depreciation terms were changed in depreciation area 01 since the last time depreciation was recalculated. The values for Ordinary deprec. that were saved in the database in fiscal year 2009 are therefore different from the newly calculated values by an amount of                                               22.33-.
    Procedure
Check if the newly calculated values are correct. If they are, then carry out a depreciation recalculation. You should be aware that if you recalculate depreciation, new values could arise for all open fiscal years, and these would then have to be posted to the general ledger by means of a depreciation posting run.
If, on the other hand, you want to keep the values that are saved in the database, you have to set the depreciation terms back to how they were at the time of the last depreciation recalculation.
To see a comparison of the old and new values, you can use the Display dep. calc. function in the asset value display or the Recalculate values function in the Asset Accounting menu.
                Proceed
And if we click on  Proceed  system take us to transaction recalculation of depreciation (t-code AFAR).
As per the diagnosis given in the message depreciation is recalculated whereas we have not run recalculation of depreciation (AFAR) but we have changed the useful life of Asset Class 2260 & 2265 from 12 to 10 years. and transferred few assets within company code by transaction code ABUMN.  Is this happening because of that ?.
We are surprised that till last depreciation run (period 5) business were not getting any such type of message and from period 5 onward system started showing this message.
I was just checking planned depreciation for F.Y. 2009 of few assets and found that depreciation is not calculating properly.
I have run AFAR in test mode and taken list of recalculated assets and also checked the recalculated depreciation manually and found that depreciation is calculated properly. Now we want to run AFAR in final mode but before moving ahead we want take concern from asset expert that we are going on right track or which another steps to be taken to resolve the same.
One more thing I have noticed that if we run AFAR from F.Y. 2008 in test mode when F.Y. 2008 is closed system shows message  "Error in Dep. Calculation"  for all the assets related to F.Y. 2008 and before and when we open F.Y. 2008 and run AFAR again in test mode then system shows message   "Error in Dep. Calculation" only few AUC assets.

    Hi Paul,
    Thanks for quick response.
I have ran AFAR in test mode in F.Y. 2009 when F.Y. 2008 is closed and checked that deprecation is calculating properly but the assets pertaining to F.Y. 2008 and there before are showing in error "Error in Dep. Calculation. I have ran AFAR in testing box by opening F.Y. 2008 and seen that system is not showing any error.
Now my question is, if i will open F.Y. 2008 in production system and run AFAR and repeat deprecation run for recent period what will be the impact in last F.Y. 2008.
    Thanks,
    Vishwa Dikondwar

  • Deleting Planned depreciation.

    Dear Experts,
Is it possible to close the FI-AA year without postin the planned depreciation?
    The issue is as under:
the acqusition value of asset is 30000, chargable @ 4.75% depreciation.
depreciation were posted upto 11th period, then we change the depreciation key (20%) as per the AS rule for that year. System shows a adjusted value in 12th period (which we dont need), to meet our requirement (depreciation for that year should be 30000*20%=6000) we passed a unplanned depreciation in 12th period, we get depreciation 6000.
But for the particular period 12th only system is showing one more planned depreciation, which we dont need at all. Unless we post that planned depreciation, system will not allow to close that year.
since we cant reverse the posted depreciation, is there any other alternative to close that particular year without posting that wrong planned. we have already posted depreciation for 12th period but again it is showing one more 12th period with planned depreciation.

    Hi Ajay,
Thanks for the helpful answer, but we dont want to post any document in the closed fiscal year.
when i'm assigning the depreciation key zero to that particular asset the extra planned depreciation is getting dissappear.
is it the right way to do so, does it going to effect in future.
    please suggest.

  • Negative planned depreciation this year

    Hi all,
When entering acquisitions for this year, we' are getting a negative planned depreciation.
    Can anyone assist?
    Mohsen

Well I'm trying to reproduce in my demo enviroment - because for normal assets I'm getting a positive depreciation for the rest of the year (which is correct). I'll explain what I mean:
    Asset acquired on 1.1.10 @ 10,000
Straight line depreciation @ 120 months
The depreciation for this year (because it's December now) is 1000+ve
This will then reduce the NBV to 9000 when the depreciation runs which is fine.
This is what is happening in my demo system which is correct - and also should be happening at the customer too. But with them, they're basically getting a 1000-ve as opposed to 1000+ve - so it'll end up appreciating the value instead!
We just cannot see why this is happening...

  • Plan hash value for two queries!

    Hi,
    DB : Oracle 11g (11.2.0.3.0)
    OS: RHEL 5
    I have two question:
    1. Can two queries have same plan hash value? I mean I have below two queries:
    SELECT /+ NO_MERGE */ MIN(payor.next_review_date)*
    * FROM payor*
    * WHERE payor.review_complete = 0*
    * AND payor.closing_date IS NULL*
    * AND payor.patient_key = 10;*
    and
    SELECT  MIN(payor.next_review_date)
    * FROM payor*
    * WHERE payor.review_complete = 0*
    * AND payor.closing_date IS NULL*
    * AND payor.patient_key = 10;*
When I tried to review the execution plan for both queries, the plan hash value remain same. Does it mean that execution plan for both queries are same? If yes, then how Oracle understands or changes the execution plan based on hint. If no then what plan hash value represents?
    2. If the execution plan with hint and without hint is same except for a given query except no.of rows and bytes. Does it mean that query with less rows and bytes scanned is better?
    Thanks in advance
    -Onkar

    Hi,
there are two different things. One is EXPLAIN PLAN, which is how the optimizer thinks the query will be executed. It contains some estimates of cost, cardinalities etc. There is also EXECUTION PLAN. It also contains all this information regarding the optimizer estimates, but on the top of that, it also contains information about actual I/O incurred, actual cardinalities, actual timings etc.
So if a hint is changing optimizer estimates, but the plan stays the same, then impact on query's performance is zero.
If the actual numbers are changing, this is probably also irrelevant to the hint (e.g. you can have less physical reads because more blocks are found in the buffer cache the second time you're running the query, or you less work because you don't have to parse the statement etc.).
Actually, most of optimizer hints don't affect optimizer estimates; rather, they try to get the optimizer to use a certain access method or a certain join order etc. regardless of the cost. So you must be talking about such hints as cardinality, dynamic_sampling etc. If that's not the case -- please clarify, because this means that something wrong is going on here (e.g. an INDEX hint may work or it may fail to work, but if it fails, optimizer estimates shouldn't change).
    Best regards,
    Nikolay

  • Difference between Unplanned depreciation and Manual depreciation

    Hi Experts,
Any body tell me what is difference between Unplanned deprecation and Manual deprecation in Asset accounting.
    Reg,
    Raj.

    Hi,
First of all an asset will have dep keys.
These dep keys have the control for calculating the automatic depreciation.
If you maintain a a normal dep key, this will automatically forecast the depreciation for the open FYs.
Apart from the above planned ordinary depreciation, you can post unplanned depreciation also, if any unforeseen conditions happen.
For ex: on 31.08.2009 your asset's NBV is 5000 (after aug dep run also), but if you feel that (client) this asset's value is further down according to the current market value, you can pass a unplannned depreciation (ABAA) for an amount of 100. So with this transaction your asset's NBV as on 31.08.2009 will become 4900.
by passing ABAA, system will not post any accounting doc, since it creates and AA internal document. So you need to do a repeat dep run for the aug period, then the system will check the asset for any unposted planned/unplanned depreciations to it. So at this point system will pass that amount to accounting
But where as manual depreciation is concerned...
you cannot post any unplanned dep to an asset, which is having dep key, that does not forecast planned dep values for the open FY.
dep key MANU is the standard dep key, which will not forecast any planned dep to it.
Check the above said standard dep key for credentials of it.
    Hope you understand...
    Thanks,
    Srinu
