Display Chinese Language

In the struts-config.xml I set
<message-resources parameter="test.view.TestResources_zh_cn"/>
The TestResources_zh_cn.properties file contains the Chinese characters for the keys. Next I go to the Internet Explorer to set the language to Chinese[zh-cn] by moving it to the top of the list. But when I run my web app, the keys (labels) in JSP page are not displayed in Chinese, but in ??.
How can I solve the problem
Thanks
Scott
I did set the following in the JSP page:
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=GB2312" %>
<% request.setCharacterEncoding(“GB2312”); %>

My OS server is windows 2008 sever (English).

    Hi Bobo,
Is this a Windows or a WEB app?
    32 or 64 bit app?
Which Font did you select, try using a Unicode True Type font like MS Ariel Unicode in the report object Font properties as a test to see if that works.

  • Chinese language pack on English-language Nokia E7...

I'm based in Manila and just bought a Nokia E72 cellphone here locally in the Philippines. The unit is labeled E72-1.
I needed a cellphone which can display Chinese-language (both Traditional & Simplified Chinese) characters.
Unfortunately, this E72 I bought here only has the English language.
I've read that the Nokia E72 in Hong Kong / Taiwan / Singapore can display both English and Chinese language.
Is it possible to have the Nokia E72 add a Chinese language pack to display Chinese characters? I really need the Chinese display capability since I regularly have contacts who send me important SMS messages with Chinese characters.
If it's not possible to add the Chinese character display capability, I may be forced to let go of this Nokia E72 and perhaps have to order it instead from Hong Kong (or perhaps Taiwan or Singapore) where I presume the Nokia E72 there will have the English + Chinese display capability built-in.
Although not as important as the Chinese-display capability, I would also like if it could have Chinese language input capability installed on this E72. Is this also possible?
Note that I don't need the phone system menus/commands to be displayed in Chinese language (and actually prefer them to be English language). I only need the phone to display/input Chinese characters in the SMS messages.
Please advise so that I can make a decision as soon as possible, whether to let go of this locally-bought E72 with only English language and instead procure a unit from abroad with the Chinese language display (and input) capability.

I'd like to add some more information which may or may not be exactly useful for those who have the same issue as mine:
Adding as much Chinese as possible on the E72 without Chinese language pack:

Mobile dictionary language packages Translate words into the language of your choice. Add new languages to your pre-installed Mobile dictionary application from Mobile dictionary download page >>Text-to-Speech language packages and voice packages
Let your phone read your messages out loud with Text-to-speech, a tool which allows you to listen to text messages, multimedia messages, and emails. To utilize your Message Reader application download language packages and voice packages at the Text-to-speech page >>
    1) Using the above page, one can download Chinese dictionary (Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions available).
It seems that after installing both dictionaries for the Mobile Dictionary application, I can fire up the Mobile Dictionary app and choose Target language to Traditional and Simplified Chinese.  The Traditional Chinese characters don't seem to display (some characters display while others are "square boxes"; but the Simplified Chinese characters appear to display correctly.)
So, it appears that the dictionary app can display Chinese characters (at least Simplified Chinese) after installing, although the SMS messages still display "square boxes" where there are Chinese characters.
    2) Download Chinese [Mandarin] (or Chinese [HK]) language text-to-speech.  Now even though the E72 doesn't display Chinese characters (they show up as square boxes), I can use the msg reader to read those "square boxes" messages and it will read them in Chinese.  So at least, that's one way of having Chinese read back to you although the characters themselves can't be displayed.  (Set Language Detection to "On" in the Speech settings so it automatically recognizes Chinese; or one could also set the Voice Language to Mandarin Chinese so that even the voice prompts are read in Mandarin Chinese -- however, if Language Detection is set to "Off", it will try to read English SMS messages as per Chinese pinyin -- ie. incorrectly.).
One bug I notice is that for Chinese character email messages (Nokia Messaging). If I set my Language to English, but set the Speech setting of Language Detection to "On", and then activate the "Listen/Read" email messages, then the Msg Reader will hang up the phone. I had to use a utility called JBakTaskman to forcefully close Msg Reader (if don't have JBakTaskman, then have to turn off the phone and turn it back on).  So it looks like while the Language Detection can auto-detect Chinese characters in SMS messages and read them properly in Chinese, it seems to hang up in Email Messages.

  • Problem when displaying smartform in chinese language

    Hi ,
I have copied a standard smart form into Z smartform and added few fields in it  as per the requirement .
When I display form in english or german it prints correctly .
when I print it in Chinese it prints the workarea name which I am using to print the values of the fileds .
    it prints as below
    &wa_vbak-budat&
please help , I tried changing the font type and size but it still shows the same.
    Regards,
    Gayatri Hemnur

    Hi Gouri,
The first step for translation is that u have to change the regional settings in your computer. Or You should logon with Chinese language.
If you have done that already, i think the problem may be that in the reoport the length of the field is smaller than the space required for the chinese characters.
Even if it is done i think you can try doing this, go to se63 translate the field once again and save it. I think this should solve your problem.

  • Zen Micro- CHINESE Language Display quest

Hi, i am looking to buy a Zen Micro really soon.
but i have a question regarding it displaying CHINESE CHARACTERS.
does anyone have problems doing so, or any suggestions or warnings?
do i have to have CHINESE Windows for it to work?
    thanks.

I have mp3 files with ID tag information in traditional Chinese and the information displays on my Zen Micro without any problems. If you are using WinXP then you don't need a Chinese version - English WinXP is capable of displaying and manipulating Chinese data. Note that on WinXP you need to set default character set for non-unicode characters to either traditional or simplified Chinese, this setting should match the setting on your Zen Micro or you'll end up with gibberish.

  • Chinese Data Fields not displaying Chinese Characters

    Hi There,
Wonder if someone can help. We are currently running reports in Crystal 8.5 but are in the process of upgrading our business systems to latest version and this includes converting all our Crystal 8.5 reports to Crystal Reports XI R2 SP4.
During the process we are experiencing some difficulties in displaying Chinese characters, which have previously worked fine in version 8.5. The system we are running Crystal from has Oracle client 11 installed and the OS system locale is set to Chinese PRC. Our application is displaying Chinese characters properly and if we have any text fields on the report, these are also displaying properly when changing Font to Arial Unicode MS. The only thing that doesn't display properly is the field data which after checking has the correct Chinese data stored in the database. For some reason Crystal 11.5 doesn't seem to be transferring the data correctly which points to some sort of encoding problem.
Is there something I am missing here or is there something else I need to install for this to work?
    Any hep would be appreciated.

What is your Oracle database's language set? Is it set to UTF-8 or non UTF-8 (such as American_America.WE8ISO8859P1" )?
There is a similar issue tracked under ID ADAPT00528561 (Crystal cannot display non-UTF-8 Chinese characters from an Oracle database ) and has been fixed and you should set the following registry key to make it effective:
Set the following registry key "UseOSLocaleForConversion" to "Yes" under:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Database\Oracle

    Thanks

For starters, you shouldn't use the 8859 encoding since it only supports single byte representations. You should be able to successfully use UTF-8. Then to actually display the characters...or to type them, make sure you have an input method editor (IME) that supports the language - in theory if you are using a Chinese Win2k, you already have this with windows - just use the right font (I think MS Gothic should work) to show the characters. You might want to consider switching to Swing.
    Good luck

  • I just got a nano 7th generation but came in  chinese language and don't understand

    Hi
I new at this, I just got the nano 7th generation. Took it out of the package and discover that is in chinese language and don't understand and don't know which one of the setting in the one for changing the language.
    Can anyone help one
    Annie

    Hey there amontalvo,
It sounds like your default language needs to be changed on your iPod Nano 7th gen. These instructions should help you get that reset, from the following article:
    iPod: Changing the display language
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1824
Reset your iPod—Depending on how much you've used your iPod since selecting the language, simply resetting your iPod may cause it to forget the current language setting, enabling you to select a new one. See How to reset iPod for instructions.
Note: When you reset your iPod, all your music and data files are saved, though you may need to reset some customized settings.
Update your iPod software—If you haven't updated your iPod software recently, use the latest version of iTunes and update the iPod software.
Go to the main menu—Disconnect your iPod from your computer, then press the Menu button until the menu title says "iPod," regardless of the language displayed. This means you are at the main menu.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
