Display window icon in diffrent resolutions.

I have written some aplications where i use the " setIconImage( ImageIcon ) " funktion.
The problem is that the icon used is displayed on the window in res. 16x16, on the window bar in XxX (depending on bar size) and when you press Alt+TAB in 24x24 i think. This means that you can not hava an icon there is sharp in every resolution. If you use a 24x24 icon the small icon becoms blury and the other way around.
So my qustion is if there any way to set an icon there is sharp every where it is shown like in other aplications (C/C++) ?
Maybe it is posible to overwrite some funktion used indirectly by the OS like :
getIconImage(int preferred_res)
or maybe add some listener to the window and then setIconImage() arcording to the curent state ?

Do anyone know how this works in linux eg. gnome where it seams fine for other non java programs.
And as far as I know linux programs don't use *ico files. I have tryed to use different png files form linux programs but with no luck. Maby the png has to have some special feture. Like "no specific resolution" , but i don't know how those png's work.

Digital Input Cannot Display this Video Mode Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 60hz.

HP Pavilion h8-1360t, Windows7 home premium 64-bit, AMD Radeon HD 7570 graphics card.
error message: Digital Input Cannot Display this Video Mode Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 60hz.
I get the error message as soon as Windows opens and the desktop displays. Then it goes black with that message. I've been using the computer for awhile and I had it so that when I maximized a window it would go across both screens. I have two monitors on the graphics card. Somehow I changed the settings so that a program would maximize to one monitor or the other. That is how I want it to work. Maybe I activated HydraVision. Now I have the problem when I start.
Also now when I boot to Safe Mode I get the message that there is no AMD graphics driver installed, or it is not functioning properly. I have tried to update it and the computer tells me I have the most recent version installed. I would like to uninstall it and reinstall it, but I'm a little worried I won't get it installed and be without video. Something like that happened to me once before years ago.
Could someone tell me what I should do please?

In safe mode you should uninstall the driver, then try to boot normal again.
Then check if driver was installed by win7.
If not go go AMD website and download latest driver for your card.

Dng and CR2 files display as icons in CS5

Now I have installed CS5 on three machines - a new installation on WIN7, and here everything is alright - no problem!
Two machines running XP wth a previous CS4 installation uninstalled show up in Bridge with this problem:
dng and CR2 files display as icons!!
Everything is updated, ACR plugin placed as should be, and Camera RAW is working fine when OPENING the file. It is only a display problem, but this is serious enough - you cannot go through your downloaded pictures.
I have tried to follow a solution close to the one given for CS4:

but I am out of luck.
Is it an XP problem, or has it something to do with the previous installation of CS4?
Any suggestions will be great! I have searced, read, tried, searched, tried.... some share this problem, but I haven't seen any soloution.

Disclaimer: The following applies to WINDOWS EXPLORER. I don't use Bridge so I don't know if it's applicable at all to Bridge.
Adobe does not provide a codec for viewing Canon raw files as thumbnails. Canon has one for free but it only works on a 32 bit Windows system.
Early this year I found a free download for displaying raw file thumbnails that works on an x64 Windows system. Since that time the author realized there's a real demand for this software and has started charging for it. In any case, I find it works very well.

Safari not displaying certain icons and background music while viewing

I'm new to Mac OS.
I tried to view a website I used to visit but the 27" iMac wouldn't display certain icons and the background music when Windows 7 could.
I recalled when I was in the Windows 7, the internet Explore brought down a small yellow bar from the top page asking me whether I'd like to install the ActiveX so that the site can play back the backgound music, java script and so on.
I downloaded and tried the Google's Crome and the Firefox browsers but they were the same as the Safari.
Is there a remedy for it?

If you could post a link to the site it would help.
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari / Preferences and select the Security tab.
Where you see: Web content: Make sure the top 3 buttons are checked. Relaunch Safari and try that site.

After installing Mavericks, CS 6 Photoshop won't keep a display window viewable to open a file

When I try to open a Photoshop file from both a dropdown (File > Open) or command O, the display window will stay open for a brief moment before closing.
On occasion I'll get the error *** -[_NSArrayM objectAtIndex:]: index 39 beyond bounds [0 .. 38]
Other times the error will say Could not complete your request because of a program error.
Other time there is no message.
The computer I'm running is MacBook Pro with Retina display, 3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

I found a solution to my issue, hopefully this helps others:

Can Mail display an icon to show me messages that have attachments... I have tons of emails organized... sometime I have to find an attachment and I have to key through each message to see it there is an attachment.
Is there a way to just show me like entourage or other programs do?

Check under the View menu for an Attachment option and select it. That should place a new column in the message browser window with an icon if there is an attachment.

No windows icon when using option on restart

I just installed Windows on my Macbook 10.5.3 using Bootcamp without any difficulty. However, on startup, while pressing the option button, the only choice I am given, is Macintosh HD. There is no Windows icon. It doesn't matter if I boot out of Windows or Leopard. The only way to change OS's is to let the computer boot up and then go into system--> startup disc and then restart. Any suggestions?

Did you ever get resolution? I'm having the same symptoms/results. My nano 3G won't charge anymore no matter what I use (portable charger, USB port on several different PC's...) I'm thinking this happens to many thousands of iPods. They are prone to early failure. Limited warranty. No user serviceable parts. And we just go out and buy the latest model to replace it.
I didn't even use mine that much. Maybe it's time to find a more reliable brand (heresy I know...).

Ok, details of installation below, so when I try compose an email, I just get a compose window icon stuck in the windows
taskbar can't actually enlarge it and use it. If I restart in safe mode with all addons disabled, then it works fine. But
If I restart normally and manually disable addons/plugins, then close and start normally again i.e not safe mode, it
breaks, so does not seem to be an addon or plugin but rather something with the configuration.

This is our standard for applications. I'm trying to put together a demo showing how an existing application
would work in JSF, so I won't be able to talk others into using JSF, unless I can get the validation to display an
icon instead of text.

OK, I noticed a bug in my validate method. This is updated to fix the bug, and to include the recomendation about background-image:

hi experts.
i have done all the settings to display the iconic tool bar in the web. the settings i have done are like this.
Initially i have created a .jar file with name my_icons.jar and pasted in /forms/java folder.
1) modified the I:\DevSuiteHome_1\j2ee\DevSuite\application-deployments\forms\formsweb\orion-web.xml file by adding
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/icons" real-path="I:\aptd\icons" />.
2) Modified the forms.conf file by adding the line
AliasMatch ^/forms/icons/(..*) "I:\aptd\icons/$1"
3) Modified the formsweb.config file by
archive_jini=archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar, my_icons.jar
4) Registry.dat
default.icons.iconpath=icons/
default.icons.iconextension=gif
i did not get the output.
when i run the form through the browser, i could see throught the bottom of the browser that it is taking

* for diffenent icons name.
but when i run the http://host:port/forms/java/my_icons.jar i could download it.

but sarah i woild like to know that my real path of the icons is in other drive. but pasting the icons in the oracle/forms/icons will work.
why can't the icons take from the the other drive. And also i have created a jar file. Then why can't it take from the jar file without pasting them in the above mentioned folder.

How can I retain the attached .pdf files (displayed as icons) from my word file 2010 to a pdf file?

I have looked for an answer in this forum ... without any good result.
I worked on a Word 2010 file with some attached pdf files. These attached files are displayed as icons on the word file. If you double click on them, you can consult them. This works very good.
Problem: I would like to convert this word 2010 file into a pdf file, which keeps the icons (linked to attached files) active. If I "pdf" this with my current system, icons are displayed as pictures: I cannot open the attached files.
My question is very simple: is it possible to retain these active icons (= to open attached documents) in a pdf file? Which adobe package should I use?

How to disable the Super User menu - (Right click windows icon menu) - Server 2012 R2 - RDS

Can anyone please advise how to remove the Administrator / Super User menu that appears when you right click the Windows Icon (old start button) in Server 2012 R2 - for RDS users. I have searched and been able to disable access to each of these menu items (Control
Panel, Event Viewer, Run, etc). But I am searching for a way to completely remove the menu. This menu also appears when you use Win-X shortcut.

You can try following points, might helpful in your case. Go to
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows
there you will see file called WinX
Right click this file and copy then go to
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows
then paste the file into the folder.
NOTE: replace YOUR_USERNAME with your actual username.
