Dock conversationwindow incoming conversations, without rendering stand-alone before the .Dock() call

We are busy developing a desktop application which uses the Lync 2013 client SDK. One of the features is to dock the conversation window of the Lync client into our own app. At the moment, this is working but the flow is not ideal:
The (incoming) conversation is created and the ConversationAdded event is fired
In the mean time, Lync already rendered the conversation window
The app gets the handle to the conversation window and docks it into a container
This results in a bit of "flickering" of screens, because Lync renders the conversation window, before the app is able to dock it into its' own panel.
I was wondering this behavior could be bypassed in any way.
I know from the samples of MS, when starting a conversation with a StartInstantMessagingButton you can initialize it with a ConversationContextualInfo object, which in turn has a ParentWindowHandle property. This is the behavior that would be IDEAL for our
app, but obviously this only works for outgoing IM conversations. Is there any way to tell Lync that all new conversations must dock?
Another possibility is to tell Lync the spot where all new conversationwindows must spawn. Is this possible?
Does anyone have done this some other way maybe?
One last thing, Our app is already visible before the conversation window, so spawning our app on top (or exactly behind) the conversation window is not possible.
Thanks

Unfortunately no, the UI does not wait for the SDK to proceed with it's functionality.  The best you can do is dock as soon as you can, but as you found it will create a stand alone window briefly before you have the opportunity to dock.

    You said that you wanted the layout to look like this:
    AT&T 2WIRE Router (wireless off) ---> AirPort Extreme ---> NetGear 16-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch ---> ethernet cabling to ports in most rooms --->
    So, we took that at face value....,.but it could look like this if things are more convenient this way, if you prefer:
    AT&T 2WIRE  > Ethernet Switch > AirPort Extreme and other devices.
    - If we include an AirPort Extreme in the overall network setup, are there any potential issues with the 2WIRE router and the AirPort Extreme router "competing" with one another?
    No, if you leave the wireless function off on the 2WIRE.  If you do want the utilize the wireless on the 2WIRE and the AirPort Extreme, then you want to keep them physically separated by 6-8 feet, or a few meters.
    - Do I really need an AirPort Extreme in the final setup?
    No, if the AirPort Express will provide enough range for the network.
    Or if I just want an extra WAP, can I operate two AirPort Express units (with the same SSID) downstream of a 2WIRE router?
    Yes, if both of them are configured to operate in Bridge Mode.  If you are using the "wizard" setup utility in AirPort Utility 6.x, the wizard will do this for you automatically.
    That is to say, could we have a setup that looks just like the image above, but with an extra AirPort Express tacked on to one of the unused ethernet ports?
    You can have as many AirPort Express devices (or AirPort Extreme devices) as you want, as long as each has an Ethernet connection back to the switch.

    I've screwed that up too with txt files and such, but I'm thinking more along the lines of where the 'call library function node is looking for the dll-
    Maybe I'm not helping here, but I think my issue had to do with the name/path field being wrong in the "Configuring Library Name or Path"

  • Rendering a column before the nodeStamp column in an af:treeTable

    I have a requirement to show a column before the nodeStamp column in a treeTable.
    Is there a way to achieve this?
    Code looks like the following -
    <af:column id="t3c1" width="50px" headerText="#{dbdiscoveryuiBundle.SELECT}" align="center">
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox .... />
    </af:column>
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:column id="t3c2" rowHeader="unstyled" headerText="#{dbdiscoveryuiBundle.TARGET_NAME}" width="80%" align="start">
      <af:outputText ...." />
    </af:column>
    </f:facet>
    Expected order -> Checkbox first followed by OutputText
    NOTE - Making rowHeader=true is not an option because of accessibility violations
    Thanks,

    Hi user,
    Do you need the header for the select one choice? you could so something like:
    <af:column id="c1">
                            <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1" layout="horizontal">
                                <af:selectOneChoice value="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.inputValue}"
                                                    label="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.label}"
                                                    required="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.hints.mandatory}"
                                                    shortDesc="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.hints.tooltip}" id="soc1">
                                    <f:selectItems value="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.items}" id="si1"/>
                                    <f:validator binding="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.validator}"/>
                                </af:selectOneChoice>
                                <af:outputText value="#{node}" id="ot1"/>
                            </af:panelGroupLayout>
                        </af:column>
    But that will be all in the same column so I guess you tried that already.

  • EJB lookup works in embedded OC4J but not stand-alone

    I use JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 to develop a combined web & EJB application. The EJBs are deployed on a 9.0.3 iAS server on a different machine.
    The EJB lookup is in a helper class that's called by the servlet. For EJB lookup, I use the class "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory" as described by the OC4J servlet guide (http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97688_10/generic.903/a97680/develop.htm#1003973). So my code looks like this:
    Hashtable map = new Hashtable();
    map.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    map.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ormi://server:port/app-business");
    map.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
    map.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "password");
    map.put("dedicated.rmicontext", "true");
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext(map);
    Object thing = context.lookup("MyEjb");
    EJBHome feedback = (EJBHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(thing, "com.company.ejb.MyEjbHome");
    The last insert into the map (map.put("dedicated.rmicontext", "true");) wasn't mentioned neither in the servlet guide nor the EJB one. But without it, I'd always get some "domain is null" error.
    Now this code above works flawlessly in the embedded OC4J of JDeveloper. But it always hangs in the "Object thing = context.lookup("MyEjb");" line when executed either in a stand-alone OC4J (the one from JDeveloper launched through the batch file in [JDeveloper directory]\jdev\bin\start_oc4j.bat) or in the OC4J in iAS.
    Does anybody know why this happens or how to fix it? I know that there are other ways of EJB lookup in servlets but since we also have plain Java classes for testing purposes that access EJBs, this seemed like the simplest thing to do for both Java classes and servlets.

    I was referring to the java client case where this optoin is not required. In general for web clients one doesn't use the rmi initial context to find the bean. This is because the bean and the webclient are both packaged in the same application. One defines the ejb-ref in the web.xml for the bean and then looks it using the default initial context. Something like
    Context ctx = new InitialCOntext();
    ctx.lookup("bean ejb-ref-name");
    However if you must use rmi for accessing the bean from the web client then the dedicated connection property is required.
    For java clients you would setup the rmi context environment.
    Since you are trying to use a common utility class for both java and webclient I would recommend that you look into packaging the java client as a j2ee application client. Basically in that case you would be able to define a ejb-ref in the aplication-client.xml and use the default initial context in code for both the cases.
    Hope that helps
    Dhiraj

  • Stand-alone JNDI lookup of an EJB in an Enterprise Application (EAR) build

    Hi All,
    I am having some difficulty doing JNDI look up an EJB 3.0 Bean that is part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) build. Below are all the related codes:
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Local;
    @Local
    public interface Hello1Local {
        public String getHello1();
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    @Stateless
    public class Hello1Bean implements Hello1Local {
        public String getHello1() {
            return "I am Hello1 Bean!";
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Remote;
    @Remote
    public interface Hello2Remote {
        public String getHello2();
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    import javax.ejb.EJB;
    @Stateless
    @EJB(name="ejb/Hello1",
         beanInterface=Hello1Local.class,
         beanName="Hello1Bean")
    public class Hello2Bean implements Hello2Remote {
        @EJB private Hello1Local hello1bean;
        public String getHello2() {
            return hello1bean.getHello1();
    There is no problem looking up Hello2 Bean using an Application Client such as the following:
    public class LocalHelloApplicationClient {
        @EJB(name="Hello2")
        private static Hello2Remote hello2Bean;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            System.out.println("hello2Bean.getHello2(): " + hello2Bean.getHello2());
    }There is also no problem doing JNDI lookup (from a Stand-Alone Client the same bean if both Hello1 and Hello2 were created by themselves. ie not part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) build. However, I am wondering whether it is possible to do JNDI lookup of the same bean (Hello2) that is part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) built. Below are the type of JNDI lookup entries that I have tried without success:
    public class StandalonePojoCallHelloWorld {
        public static void main(String [] args)
            try
                InitialContext jndiContext = new InitialContext();
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("ejb.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.Hello2.remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.ejb.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication-ejb.Hello2Remote");
                System.out.println("hello2Bean.getHello2(): " + hello2Bean.getHello2());
            catch (javax.naming.NamingException ne)
             ne.printStackTrace();
    They all came up with the same error message:
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication-ejb.Hello2Remote not found

  • AMF connection working on browser, not in stand alone player

    Greetings,
    I'm trying to communicate my SWF file with PHP using Zend_Amf. I compile the flash side using Flex SDK 4.
    Whenever I try to run the swf using the stand alone player (the projector), I always get a NetConnection.Call.BadVersion event. However, when running exactly the same file thorught the player of the browser (even not thoguht a server, just using the file:// kind of address), everything works OK, so I know my code is not completely wrong.
    I thought this could be related with the security sandbox. However, I added the folder where my swf file is to the global trusted folder; and actually made sure that Security.sandboxType returns "localTrusted". How ever, that didn't fix anything.
    So I'm out of ideas. Any suggestion on where to look next?

    Here's my code, in case its needed (it's a pretty straightforward hello world example):
    PHP SIDE:
    $a = new Amf_Model_Test();
    $server = new Zend_Amf_Server();
    $server->setClass('Amf_Model_Test');
    echo $server->handle();
    class Amf_Model_Test
    * return string
    public function greet()
        return "hello";
    AS SIDE:
    public class main extends Sprite
    private var _resp: Responder;
    private var _nc: NetConnection;
    private var tf: TextField;
    private var _gateway: String;
    public function main()
    tf = new TextField();
    tf.width = 500;
    tf.border = true;
    tf.borderColor = 0x0000FF;
    addChild(tf);
          _gateway = 'http://cms.loc/amf';
    _resp = new Responder(onResult, onFault);
    _nc = new NetConnection();
    _nc.connect(_gateway);
    _nc.client = this;
    _nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onNetStatus);
    _nc.call("Amf_Model_Test.greet", _resp);
    private function onNetStatus(event: NetStatusEvent): void
    trace(event.info['code']);
    tf.text = "Status = "+event.info['code'];
    private function onFault(result: Object): void
    tf.text = "Fault = " + String(result);
    private function onResult(result: Object): void
          tf.text = "Result = " + String(result);
    In my browser, I get "Result = hello", as expected. In the stand alone player (which is exactly the same version) I get "Status = NetConnection.Call.BadVersion".

  • Incoming payment without Customer

    hi,
    May I know how to enter incoming payment without customer, and knock off the payment with an invoice later on?
    Thank you..
    Regards,
    Catea k

    Hi,
    Without knowing the customer you can keep track of the amount which you had received.
    but you can do like this for Which document  A/R  or A/p invoice the amount was received in this case you can collect teh amount by selecting ON ACCOUNT. and keep track of the vendor / customer balance.

  • Stand Alone Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010

    I wish to use the stand alone product to edit Crystal Report .rpt files created with Visual Studio 2010
    Is CR 2011 stand alone.product the right tool?
    Using CR 2008, I receive a warning message if I open a .rpt created al VS 2010.
    Likewise, if I import the edited .rpt file to VS, another message pop ups saying that it will be updated to a newer version.
    Thank you in advance
    Edited by: Roberto Mirelman on Oct 21, 2011 2:59 PM

    You are correct.
    CR 2011 reports can be run in CR for VS 2010.
    Technically you can still use CR 2008 to edit your reports and shouldnt see any problems other than getting the prompt all the time.  I am not sure if using CR 2011 will cause prompting as well so you may want to try it our using the trial version first.

  • Skin menu won't work in stand alone published project

    Morning
    I created skin with a menu, but when I published it
    as a stand alone (.exe) the menu doesn't link to anything... I've
    double ck'd my links and all are OK. The links I put in to other
    project via a 'button' work fine. It's just the skin menu that
    doesn't work. Help! Thank you
    Bev

    Hi Jef,
    thanks for your answer. There were noch errors while installation, and, as I have said, the bridge ist working within Photoshop as "Minibridge" Trying to start bridge itself still fails.
    I was also using the above mentioned loganalyzer, he returned a message, that everything is ok with the install.
    any further ideas? I am concerned, that maybe the download from the Adobe-Site could be corrupt and/or incomplete???
    Best regards,

  • How do I create stand alone smaller?

    All,
    I need to be able to store in Stand Alone mode in a web
    folder. Unfortunately, I cannot use HTML as I can only store one
    file per folder. Therefore, I "think" Stand Alone is the only
    deployment option. My 5 minute full motion (it needs to be)
    software simulation is now 22 Meg. A heafty load considering I need
    to be able to create probably 25 more of the same length.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks!

  • Is eployment to IAS 10.1.3 the same way like to OC4J 10.1.3  stand alone ?

    Hi All,
    We are about to deploy our ADF Faces + BC application into IAS 10.1.3.
    Until today we have never tried the real IAS 10.1.3, so far we develop , testing and deploy for testing using OC4J stand alone.
    The question is : Is Deployment to IAS 10.1.3 the same way like Deployment to OC4J 10.1.3 stand alone ? is there anything spicific ?
    Thank you for your help,
    xtanto

    Hi,
    yes, it is the same. Just create an ApplicatioNServer connection in Jdeveloper and deploy the software. Be aware that if you use JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 you will have to install teh ADF runtime libraries first. If you deploy to OracleAs 10.1.3.0 then you should be fine
