Downloaded tv programs won't play

Hi,
Downloaded a series of TV shows from the History Channel. They appear on my iTunes and they appear synced on my iPod. However, when I try to play them on my iPod, nothing happens. I have others that play, but none of the 5 parts play. I get my start arrow, as if it will start, however I get a black screen for 30 seconds and then the screen reverts back to the selection screen.
Any thoughts of where to go from here??
Thanks.
Frank

You have posted this in the wrong forum so you may not get the replies you need.
This forum is for 'iPod with colour display' which may sound like your iPod, but it is actually the iPods that got the first color displays (was also called the iPod photo).
The 'iPod with color display' does not actually play video at all.
You must either have a 5th Generation iPod or an iPod classic. Try posting your question in the forum for the iPod that you have.
Hope that helps,
Ian

    Hey megatony87,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are having authorization issues with a purchased album on your computer. The following article may help to resolve your issue:

  • Song downloaded on iPhone won't play on MacBook on same account...

I downloaded two songs on my iPhone 4S today, when I opened up my MacBook Pro both songs had been automatically downloaded onto the computer. I played the first one no problem. The second song asked for me to authorize it to play on this computer, I entered my apple ID, it accepted it and said this computer is authorized (3 out of 5 authorizations allowed). I tried to play it again and the same authorization tab pops up- I've tried it multiple times. I consulted apple support online and followed instructions to delete an SC Info folder and restart, I did that and I had to re-authorize the entire computer after, which I did and that's fine. That one song still won't play- what's up?? How do I fix this??

Okay, I contacted Apple and they had me sign out of iTunes on both my iPhone and my computer. Apparently the song was locked in the download queue somehow, and signing out and in let it restart the download.

  • Downloaded from iTunes, won't play in iDVD

I have some mpeg4 files that I downloaded from the iTunes Library online. I am attempting to use them in an iDVD project, but some of them will not play. Some others will play. The ones that won't play in iDVD will still play in iTunes.
The files that don't work seem to have a little padlock in the upper left corner that I cannot get rid of.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Curt,
The tracks that won't play in iDVD, were those tracks that you imported from a CD? Or did you purchase and download directly from iTunes?
If you can’t play a song purchased from the iTunes Store, you may have exceeded the number of computers on which you can play your purchases.
Unless the song is an iTunes Plus version, you can play an iTunes Store purchase on up to five authorized computers. After you authorize five computers (by playing purchases on those computers), you can’t play the songs on a sixth computer until you deauthorize one of the five authorized computers. (For instructions on deauthorizing a computer, click the first link below.)
If the song is available as an iTunes Plus download, you may ugrade the song at the iTunes Store.
If you're listening to a shared library or playlist, iTunes skips iTunes Store purchases if your computer hasn't been authorized to play them. To listen to a purchased song in a shared library or playlist, double-click the song. If your computer isn't authorized to play songs purchased by the person who is sharing the song, you'll need to enter that person's Apple or AOL account ID and password to hear the song.
You might be trying to play an AAC file that was not created using iTunes or downloaded from the iTunes Store. Songs you download from the iTunes Store or import into your library using the AAC encoder are encoded using the new MPEG-4 AAC format, and play in iTunes and on your iPod. Other AAC files that you find on the Internet or elsewhere won't play in iTunes.
If you’re trying to play a song on a CD that you burned using iTunes, make sure the equipment on which you're trying to play the CD is appropriate for the disc's format. For example, if you burned a CD-RW disc, you can play it only on your computer and some newer CD players. If you burned an MP3 disc, it should work in your computer and on special MP3 CD players, but not on standard consumer audio CD players. You can't play DVDs burned using iTunes on most consumer DVD players.

  • Downloaded CC programs won't stop running trial version.

    Hello,
I recently became a member of the CC; however, prior to becoming a member I had downloaded and was running trial versions of Illustrator, and InDesign.  Upon becomign a member, I removed both programs, assuming it would erase all information allowing me to download the CC version rather then just the trial.  Though after downloading the programs and installing them correctly, I am still notified that the trial version has expired and I am prompted to pay more money for another membership, and to license the product.  When I clicked on license program I was prompted to enter a valid serial number.  This whole time I have been logged into the CC, so I would assume that its not having these issues because I'm not logged in.  Please help asap.  Thank you for your time.
    Aaron C.

    Hi Challa91,
Please refer the following help document on where creative cloud ask for serial number.

Please let me know if doesn't worked for you.

  • Paid for download, now it won't play on my iPod

I downloaded Anthology by Frankie Valli and 4 Seasons, cost $15.99. I have to manually transfer as I have changed computers and cannot sync automatically to my iPod or will lose over 1500 tracks already recorded. I have been doing this successfully for a long time. Today when I thought I had transferred I got the message that this albumn could not play on my iPod. Don't know if this is the only one because it was recorded a long time ago or since I just downloaded the iTunes 7 update, all future downloads will only play on my computer.
Help someone. Also I am out the $15.99 as I don't listen to music on my computer!!! I donwload specifically to play on my iPod

    Chris:
thank you so much. You were right. Now the album is playing on my iPod. I owe you a great big thank you.
Thanks again. I am a grandmother and not totally up to date with all this technology and so as I take one step forward, I take 3 steps back. Thanks to people like you, I am muddling along

  • Downloaded video but won't play through

I downloaded Drive video from Incubus and the video stops playing at 20 seconds in. Can I download again? Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Windows 7.

  • Movie didn't download properly now won't play

I downloaded a movie but it didn't download properly - its showing on my computer as separate .tmp files. I opened it in itunes and it says 'this film cannot be played on this computer'. I can redownload it but I will have to pay $70 for internet quota as I am in a remote location. Can anyone suggest a way to repair the file? It is the same size as the movie (4.7GB) so should mostly be there.

You should be able to download the app again and not get charged a second time. Unlike music and other media content, you can download applications more than once. Just go through the normal buy process and it should allow you to download without charge. I'd suggest trying it through iTunes on your computer this time rather than through your iPhone.
If you continue to have problems, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Contact page and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • What to do with a downloaded song that won't play?

I bought a full album in the iTunes store, but there is 1 song that keeps asking for my username & password, and even when i put in the credidentials the song doesn't play.
I allready de-autorised my mac en autorised it again but no progres

Try this: delete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persists, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • Download from itunes won't play

I downloaded a episode of the Office last night, and every time I try and open it up I have to validate my computer, and once the validation is completed successful, all I can see is a grey screen, but the bar across the bottom shows it as playing with time counting down. I even tried to open it with Quicktime and still got nothing. Turning off my anti-virus didn't help either.

I have the same problem. Setting up a new Macbook Air.  When I try to download anything I get the error 45054. Tried repairing permissions, etc.

  • I can't find download for movie rentals, says downloaded but I won't play.

    Need help fixing this issue.

No, in the Video app there is no download option.  You download a movie from iTunes, where it should appear in the Video app and you watch it from there.

  • When i go to play a recently downloaded song, it won't play. It just goes back to the artist's songlist. What do i do?

    What do i do?

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Delete the song and redownload it by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
