Droid 3 Camera issues I am running into:
 -  -  First  - If I can start the camera without it causing the phone to crash.... (how do you disable the "Droid" sound on reboot - getting VERY annoying)
Try Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / All Tab / Camera / Clear Data to resolve camera issue....  To disable startup sound try disabling Settings / Sounds / SD Mount or something along this.
 -  -  I have to use a task killer to keep the camera from burning up the battery after using it. - WHY????
I understand where you coming from but I would use System Panel instead of a task killer, a number of users helped me see the light of not using a task killer.
 -  - I bought my phone to keep in touch via skype with my son @ college - but now learn that the droid 3, with it's front facing camera DOES NOT WORK - (not on the Verizon-specific Skype - what a lame app), but using  the real Skype app... on a video chat, the Droid gives a black screen, not my image.  ???   From what I see online, same response from other video chat tools.   This was one of the biggest selling points for me!!!  Am more than mildly annoyed at this one.
That strange because the Droid 3 is supported on Skype's site.
Previous phone was a Droid 2 - with none of these problems....  appears that the Droid3 was released before testing and fixing issues.

  • Droid Charge Issues

I have only had my Droid Charge for 2 months and I absolutely hate it!  It locks up all the time and I have to take the battery out.  Then it switches to 3G where I live.  Now, it won't charge.  I charge it every night.  Charged it last night, barely used it today and it's almost dead.  It's been on the charger for 2 hours now and is still showing a dead battery.  I have about had it with this phone.  Of course Verizon is absolutely no help!  They're the ones that talked me into this phone.  I wanted the Iphone and they said this one was way better.  It's a piece of crap!!!

I haven't had the opportunity to read through all of the Droid Charge Issue posts but it appears that we are ALL having similar problems to an extent....
I have had my charge since May and if memory serves me correctly, I had it replaced once within the initial month or so of having it
I have ALWAYS had an issue with 4G coverage..I've always been told that it's due to a lack of a connection in my area but friends in my home are able to get 4G service and I can in certain parts of the home. I was actually getting 1X service which is just RIDICULOUSLY unacceptable for what I paid for this phone.
Lately the 4G/3G service in my home has not been AS BAD but still is not great. I never had a signal at work and was told it was due to the structure of the building as the service was designed to work outdoors, really?? so I'm going to sit outside and make phonecalls and get the internet connection I need?! umm  NO.
my Biggest complaint recently has been my phone freezing, the screen during off during a call in which i need to use the dialpad and cannot get the screen to come up and the CHARGE's inability to CHARGE!!!! When I use my wall charger (YES the SAMSUNG charger that came with the phone) or a cigarette lighter charger in my car the phone goes back and forth from charging to not charging. I have to move it a million different ways for it to charge and cannot guarantee that it will charge during the night. Due to the nature of my job and the situations that I am put into while at work, I need my phone to be RELIABLE and CHARGED at all times! I cannot deal with this charging issues. It was not happening as recent as two months ago. I noticed that my car charger worked fine and then one day would bring up the message asking if I want to access the media or mass storage instead of charging it. The mere sound of the beeping going from an uncharged to a charged state every second without any movement is making me what to end my contract.
Verizon needs to do something. I have not turned my phone in yet because I am NOT WILLING To pay all of the money that I do to be sent a REFURBISHED phone that was turned in for the same issues!
    ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I was also talked out of buying the iPhone back in May (of course theres little profit on them for VZW!)

  • Droid X issues...Not a happy customer :(

I am having a few issues and I just wanted some input on my problem. I originally purchased a Droid 2 Global and didn't love it as much as I thought so I returned to the store and did an exchange for the Droid X. I like the device for the screen size and the camera quality (which is stunning!). Keep in mind I have called technical support before going to the store for each new phone.
My first Droid X would randomly take black blank images when using the camera and I use the camera a lot since I have a 14 month old niece living with us and we like to capture lots of memories This one also had dust under the screen. I had the phone less than a week and when I took it back to the store they immediately swapped it for another brand new X.
The second one a few days later had the same intermittent camera issue and dead pixels on the screen. I took it back to the store again and they again replaced it with a new X.
This third X appears to have no screen issues but the camera issue persists. I called technical support who apologized about all the issues and asked if I would talk to a Verizon Technician who logs issues with phones into a database so they can work on fixes and see if there is a trend in the issues I am having. I agreed to do so. I got to a nice woman who took all my information and logged the issues. She said they have had a few customers call in with the same exact complaint but it wasn't frequent because she believes because it works some of the time they don't bother calling. She then asked if it would be okay with me if she conferenced a Motorola Technician into our call to also log the issue with them. I agreed. Motorola got on the phone and got the MEID numbers for all threee phones and my email address and he said they have quite a few complaints about the same issue and that they appreciate the feedback. The woman from Verizon then asked if Motorola had any input on when and if there would be a fix. He said they didn't know what was causing the issues so there was nothing as of now and we relieved him from the call. She then asked me if the issue was bothersome and I said yes it was but I really like the Android system and all that. She said if it bothered me I should take it back to the store again and have them move me to a different Droid device, such as Fascinate or back to my Droid 2 Global. I was already aware that you get one swap from a device to another device in 14 days and I had already done that. She then told me that because of the issues this swap was considered different and that she would note the account so that when I went to the store they would go ahead and do it without issues. She was very nice and recommended a few phones for me and I left for the store....
I got to the store and walked in and they asked me how they could help me. I said it was a long story but technical support troubleshooted the phone with me and the phone has had the same recurring issue as the others. She pulled the account up and saw the notes and said oh they want you to move to a different device. It so happens to store manager was sitting there playing a game on his Galaxy S Tablet and asked if I used the camera a lot and if so I would like the Incredible or the iPhone 4. I said I didn't want an iPhone. I wanted another Droid. He looked at the notes and the account after offering me whatever Droid I wanted since they were all 199.99 or less like I had paid and then said that I had already did an exchange and that he refused to do another swap. He then also said about the X having a mechanical shutter and sometimes they stick but to deal with it and to not bring the phone back until the camera "refused to take pictures alltogether".
I am so upset. I looked like a complete idiot and he made me feel so stupid. He talked to me like a little kid. They also accessed the account without any verification other than asking me what my cell phone number was. They never had me verify the last four of my social like they should have as well.
I then called customer service again and they immediately saw that the store should have honored what the representative noted with Motorola and that they should have did the exchange without an issue but they could only do refurbished devices. She tried to offer me a Droid Eris...It's retired and she wouldn't refund the 199.99 I paid for the phone regardless.
Any ideas on what to do? I am so upset
    Justin

What I have learned that this type of issue usually comes from the stores location, I know it shouldnt make a diffrence but some employees in curtian areas seem to approuch customer service a bit wrong, did you try tp go to another store, I know its a pain and you shouldnt have to do this but this is just a trick that works for me?  I hope under this situation that this was just a situation with bad management.
Now as for the issue you are having with camera is kind of strange one because I use my camera pretty heavy without any issues so far... Knock on Wood..
Good luck on getting everything straighten out...

  • Droid Replaced 3 times

I am on my 3rd Droid & I'm having the same issues that I've had with my previous Droids.  I was assured that when they sent me this replacement if I had any problems with it they would replace it with a different cell.  I just got off the phone with Verizon & was told that they would only send me the exact same Droid as a replacement unless I wanted to purchase a Pre-owned phone at a discounted price.  I'm so frustrated right now - I just need a phone that will work all the time.
The problems that I'm having are:
    Phone freezes up
    Won't hold a charge
Sends text messages to the wrong people
Touch screen stops working when I'm texting
Any ideas what I can do?  I've already done the hard reset a few times & taken the battery off several times, deleted apps, etc.

Don't give up, it just takes a while to get someone to listen to you. Yesterday morning I unpacked my fourth replacement DROID from the FedEx shipping box and on the very first phone call it malfunctioned. Of course it was a refurbished unit.
I called my local Verizon store and while they've always been wonderful, the only thing they could do was offer to send a fifth refurbished handset to me. I called Verizon to discuss other options since I was not confident that another of the same thing would really fix anything.
Here's what I think is the key: Don't let your call be transferred to technical support! As best you can, stay on the line with Customer Service. In my experiences--
Customer Service Representative staff: caring, attentive, polite. Solution oriented
Technical Service staff: argumentative, dismissive. Blame oriented.
My phone call yesterday to John in technical support was a nightmare. He scolded me for being ungrateful that I got a $700 retail phone for $99 when I began my contract. He lectured me using ridiculous analogies like purchasing a new car and such. He insulted me by pointedly refusing to acknowledge that there may, in fact, be a problem with the equipment; suggesting instead  I didn't understand how to use it or was intentionally causing the issue. He talked  over me, explaining in detail the steps involved in Verizon's quality control process and how they only send out "like-new" equipment, even after I said I didn't care to hear about all that. He ignored for 25 minutes my repeated requests to speak to a supervisor. He actually stated  it didn't matter that I'd carried Verizon service uninterrupted since 1998 replying "Well I've worked for Verizon for a number of years." and then telling me it was "not any business of yours" when I asked him how long he has worked for Verizon. After 45 minutes of listening to this jerk and not losing my temper I finally cracked and used a single bad word, my actual sentence was: "You just cut me off [again, while I was talking]. You don't have to care but you do need to be ******* polite." At that point the he hung up on me, I shouldn't have cursed and I don't blame him for ending the call. I do blame him, however, for the 45 minutes of useless garbage he gave me before that point.
I was more stunned than angry and called back immediately while I felt I could still be level-headed. I spoke to Tanya in Customer Service and in less than five minutes she suggested an option that, while it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, was fair. And more than that, she listened and understood that I was simply frustrated to have four phones not work as expected.
This isn't the first time I've called Verizon in the twelve years I've been a customer but I only realized yesterday that I'm consistently disappointed when I deal with Technical Support and generally pleased after dealing with Customer Service.
I'm going to stay a Verizon customer, I'm still glad to have them as my brand and I don't think changing carriers will mean I'll never have to deal with lousy employees again. Keep trying and if you feel the person you're talking to isn't listening ask to speak to someone who will listen. A contract works two ways not just one and if you've done what you're supposed to do, it's not unreasonable to expect the same of the other party. Good luck, maybe on your next call instead of a "John in technical service" you'll get to talk to a "Tanya in customer service."

  • Internal hard drive replacement issue...(a bit wordy)

I am the second user of this white core duo MacBook - the boss's hand-me-down.
The original hard drive was almost full when I received the unit, so after using it for a while I decided to replace the internal drive. I have an external WD 320GB "My Passport" formatted for Mac use that works just fine - it keeps the Time Machine backups on one partition and a Carbon Copy Cloner image of the original internal drive on another.
I recently bought a WD 250GB Scorpio Blue (WD2500BPVT-00ZEST0), stuck it in the computer, formatted it (Mac OS Extended (Journaled), GUID) as a single partition and put the CCC image of the original drive on it. All was good. New drive booted and functioned as expected. Four days later it failed (question mark appearing on restart attempts). The disk utility applications in four different OS's failed to recognize the disk. Short story is WD sent me a replacement, but 320GB rather than the 250 - a WD3200BPVT-00ZEST0.
I eventually got the new drive partitioned and formatted and installed Snow Leopard from my update disk. All this transpired with the drive docked in an external USB dock.
During the OS install I took the opportunity to set it up in my name rather than my boss's name. (was this a mistake and the source of my problem, I wonder?)
I can boot from this newly built drive when it is docked, BUT NOT when it's installed internally in the laptop. It is recognized as an available start drive during restart, and I get the "apple", but the spinning wheel keeps on spinning without actually booting (or at least I get tired of waiting and the fan keeps spooling up - I eventually just turn the power off).
Is this drive, at 320Gb, too big for this laptop to use internally? (but the 250GB one worked)
Did I make a mistake in creating a different default ID (me rather than the boss) while installing the OS? Is the laptop "remembering" the user setup from the original small drive somehow and refusing to work with the new drive's new user?
This is my first "Mac" experience and I really like the way the OS treats me and the "look and feel" of the GUI, but this has been somewhat frustrating. (I WILL stick with it though, I plan on buying a new MBP next summer.)
Am I forever destined to live with the tiny original drive and be relegated to carrying around Passport drive to get most of my data files?
I now have three drives I can boot from, but I'd really like to have the big new one actually usable from inside the laptop rather than sitting in a dock (with all it's cables).
    Thanks for reading this far.
    Dave

    OK, so push ahead...
    He's dead, Jim.
The hard drive works outside of the laptop.
Your USB enclosure probably runs slower or something.
Has there been some (unknown to me) change in the specifications of 2.5" SATA hard drives since the original one was spec'd for this laptop that renders the newer ones unusable?
I prefer to have other people keep up with this stuff instead of me. I buy pretty much all of my equipment from OWC. If they sell it, it will work with your Mac. Even if you don't buy from OWC (but you should), if you buy the same model numbers that they sell, you should be fine. OWC doesn't sell this drive. For me, that would be a red flag.
(WD claims their "advanced formatting" is OS X compatible without the realignment required by certain versions of Windows, but is it possible this is a hardware related issue with the MacBook?)
OWC does sell the "regular formatting" version of this drive (WDGWD3200BEVT). Perhaps it only works in newer machines. The WD support page also mentioned that cloning can screw up the drive. I never recommend cloning except in some very specific circumstances. I do that not because I know something, but because I don't. I'm not entirely sure what those clone tools are doing underneath and if they've been tested on these new drives.
Maybe put it back into the enclosure and partition it again into a single volume. Make sure to use the GUID option. Don't do anything else with it. Put it back into the Mac and try again. If it fails again, get a different drive.

  • HTC Droid DNA issues after update to 4.2.2 (Software Version 3.06.605.4)

Since updating my HTC Droid DNA to 4.2.2 last month, I have several recurring issues:
The camera crashes (not every time, but often enough that it's VERY annoying) when taking HDR pictures (normal ones are OK)
After a reboot, the keyboard reverts to the Google default, instead of my choice of SwiftKey
On the plus side, battery life appears to be improved.
Is anyone else having these problems?  Any suggestions on how to debug/get them resolved?
      - R

The 4.2.2 OTA update for our phone is garbage. I broke my DNA took it back to best buy once i recived the new one i Stupidly downloaded the update.

  • Jerky Playback & asset replacement issue

    Hi,
Just downloaded the trial version in order to see if it corrects some things I needed on 1.5
So appart from the better responce and added features wich are great I have 2 problems (so far!).
Problem No1 is that the playback of the mpeg (*.m2v) file on the timeline and DVD Preview is very jerky and unstable. I used the same assets in 1.5 and playback is fine there.
Problem No2 and major for me is that when I replace assets in a previously created project the asset length doesn't adjust automaticaly. That is not a problem if the asset beeing replaced was longer since I can drag the end of the replacement asset on the timeline, and it snaps to the right length. But when the asset beeing replaced is shorter than the new asset there is no way I can drag the end of it to he new duration. Only way is to delete the m2v from the timeline and re-enter it, but that deletes all chapters and links to allready created menus with it. Is there anything I can do about that? I use asset replacement every day and this is a major drawback for me. I will have to stick to 1.5 for the time beeing...
Anyhow thanks for a great piece of software wich I was much expecting and sure to buy soon.
    Cheers
    Christos

    Christos.
For the asset replacement options that are not working as you expect, try this:
    PROBLEM:
When replacing an asset in a timeline that is longer than the original, it is not always possible to extend the duration of the new clip by dragging it.
    METHOD:
    1. Create a new project.
    2. Import an .m2v file and it's corresponding .wav file.
    3. Make a timeline with these assets.
    4. Click the .m2v or .wav asset in the project window, press Ctrl-H, and replace it with an .m2v file that is LONGER than the original. After importing notice in the timeline that the new length is the same as the old one.
    5. Drag the tail of the replaced clip to extend its duration.
    RESULT:
When you drag the tail of the .m2v or .wav file to extend the duration, the clip 'flickers." If you release the mouse when the clip "flickers" off or when the mouse is beyond the maximum duration of the clip, it reverts to the original duration. The same behaviour is exhibited when trimming the clip.
Note: Although .avi files exhibit similar flickering, you can extend or trim the clips without issue.
    EXPECTED:
The duration of the clip should always be extended or trimmed to the point where the mouse is when the button is released. If the mouse is beyond the maximum duration of the clip, the duration should be extended to its maximum (like PPro).
    WORKAROUND:
    1. Position the CTI at the desired out point.
    2. Drag the tail of the .m2v or .wav file as close to the CTI as possible while it still "flickers" on.
    3. Zoom in on the tail of the clip and repeat step 2 until the clip reaches the desired duration.

  • Droid keys issue

Same exact thing started on my original droid ~3 days ago.
Home and Search buttons do nothing in virtually all apps, but are working mechanically.
Camera Button doesn't bring up the camera, but works to take pictures.
All options except Power Off disappeared from power button menu.
Screen unlock pattern gone and can't be re-initiated.
Phone doesn't ring but goes to voicemail.
There's clearly some bug in an update somewhere that I've been able to avoid until now.  I have all app updates on manual, and am running Android 2.2.3 from Nov 2011.  That only thing I can think of that may have triggered it was I activated a Live Wallpaper.
Would sure be nice to have this figured out so we don't have to do a factory reset every time somebody catches it.

Thanks to the moderators for creating this thread for me.
I guess my reply to the main thread on this topic was deleted because the thread goes back to 2010 and my reply bumped it.  I can understand that.
I just thought it made sense to post it on the thread on this topic because then people that are trying to help can see the whole history of the issue and that it goes back to 2010 and numerous people are still getting exactly the same issues.
That way people understand it's a known issue that we're looking for help getting resolved and not that somebody left call forwarding on. hehe.
You can see the thread by searching for "Droid Home key not working, along with other things."
    Any help is appreciated.

  • HELP Droid 3 issues

Two Issues and a comment, hope someone can help.  This is my 2nd droid 3 (less then a year old) first one lasted 3 days and it was only a refurbished one at that.  Anyway, On 6/29 I got a text msg that state I must click on my verizon data widget to update my usage I dont have that widget, nor can I find it.  Also, seems that my text messages are no longer being received. Can anyone offer any help.  Thanks

    1) Very odd, don't know about that one.
    2) Try setting your facebook sync settings to sync all contacts (within the facebook app), give it some time to sync, then do the join process again.  Those particular contacts may not have any similar info (email address, phone number, etc.) so it may not recognize they are the same person (especially if you have a slightly different name for them, like I have my mom listed as "mom", and her facebook profile has her full name).  This should allow you to at least search for them.  After they are joined, you should be able to put it back to sync only existing contacts so that your phonebook isn't full of facebook friends that you are never planning on calling.

  • Replacement issue file

If you've ever noticed that when you're box has completed its boot sequence, it clears the screen? Or that little line that says "ArchLinux 0.7 (blah)..." right before you login. Well that is replacable and I've made a custom color issue file to match the way the init scripts colors look:
    http://www.theradixpoint.com/dist/issue
Just replace your /etc/issue with this one and log in and out on your virtual consoles to see the difference. You can also cat the file to your term to see it.

The folks at the Genius Bar would be the ones who would determine if your phone will be replaced under warranty. You would not be bothering them by making an appointment. It's what they are there for. The appointment itself won't cost you anything.
    Best of luck.

  • X201 Screen Replacement Issues

    Hello,
I recently developed a black screen issue, where the screen would not light up due to backlight issue, and the lid close was not recognized.
When I sent it to repair, I got it back with a new screen, LG LP121WX3 TL A1.
The repair guy told some other control chip/fuse was also replaced.
However, even though the screen works fine, the lid close event is not recognized.
I found out that the hall sensor and the Magnet under the keyboard are missing.
Also, as soon as I install Intel HD graphics, the screen turns black/blank.
It boots up normally till the login screen, then a bright white frame, then black, then again a white flicker, and completely black again.
However, windows is running normally in the background.
My only solution now is to go into safe mode and run using Standard VGA driver. Since there is no HD graphics driver installed, no sleep function too.
    I have tried 3 fresh installs, win8 win7 win8.1.
Fresh install on a brand new HDD, infinite number of different drivers, everything.
When I run ubuntu, all these issues are not there, sleep funtion etc works, though lid close is not recognised there too.
Can anyone please post a solution to this?
I noticed in the hardware manual that the FRUs are 42T0709 and 42T0715.
The FRU of the current screen is 42T0710.
But, on this same forum somewhere I read that the LP121WX3 is a valid replacement for this model.

May I ask you to create a new topic for this? I'd like to avoid hijcacking rakeshrakoo post since his problem was totally different. It may also help members with similar problems as yours.

  • G585 Screen Replacement Issue

Right odd one this - I'm after replaceming the screen on my G585. I took out the old one & pugged the new one in, I mounted in the frame & it was woking so I powered off the laptop and replaced the bezel. When I turned it on after replacing the bezel I get no picture anymore. Ive tried putting the old screen back in but that dosnt work now either. Iv resorted to using an external monitor so at least I know I SHOULD be getting an image on my laptop screen.
The old screeen was a LG LP156WH4 (TL)(N1) - I swapped it for a LP156WH4 (TL)(N2). Would that make any difference? As I said it was woking until I reattached the bezel???

  • Trackpad Replacement Issue

    Hello,
I purchased two blackberry trackpads to replace the one in a Blackberry 8530.  I installed the pad but discovered that I couldn’t boot up the device upon installation.  If I place the old, broken trackpad back into the Blackberry, the device boots fine (but, of course, the trackpad doesn’t work).  But when I put in either of the two trackpads I purchased, the blackberry does not boot up.  I spoke with the dealer who sold me the pads and no one else has had an issue with them and he's offered to send me another pad, but it's highly unlikely I received two defective pads.  So, I was wondering if anyone has encountered something similar.  I just find it extremely strange that the old pad allows for the device to boot up but the new pads (which are the correct make and are compatible with modles up to 9300) don't.  Any ideas or suggestions?  Thanks!

The process is quite easy.  Take the battery out, remove the plate covering where the pad is situated (and also puts pressure on it), pull out the old touchpad and put in the new one (of course, attach the pad to the board).  Takes less than 2 minutes in total to do.

  • Droid 3 Issues

    * Favorites widget on home screen - after setting up contacts for quick dials, some of the contacts, when selected for dialing, call another contact in my phohebook???
    * Corporate email sync - why can you only sync 30 days of email? On my old Droid 2 (with FROYO), I could sync my entire email account contents.
    * Also calendar appointment changes made on another device do not sync the changes on the Droid 3?
    * Also when texting or emailing, after hitting the spacebar once, the cursor takes off spacing until you hit the backspace key?
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have a similar issue. I got mine yesterday -- and my cell standby is consistently at 35-40% and my time without signal has never been over 10%. When I got it yesterday, I had to recharge it twice, and I don't think I used it more than an average user would. So anyway, I recharged it and took it off the charger at 9-ish this morning and I was down to 50% battery usage after 4 hours. The only thing I'd done was text a few times and play Angry Birds for 10 minutes tops. I somehow managed to make it last the rest of the day, but that was because I barely touched it and only texted a total of maybe 50 times.
I haven't tried the *228 option yet because I'm afriad I'll do something to mess up my phone further. But if someone could help both of us out, that would be awesome. I'd hate to take this phone back because I love everything about it except for the battery life. I mean, it's still under warranty and I have another what, 12 days to take it back to the store, but that's a huge hassel that I really wouldn't have liked to deal with in the first place.

  • Droid X issues + Verizon policies complaint. FED UP

So I've had my Droid X since I think July or August of 2010 and I've had a manual reset done on it 3 times at least and switched to a brand new Droid X and now after all that's been done I'm still having multiple issues. The main one being it randomly restarts all the time and, half the time, the top quarter of the screen is unresponsive. It's laggy, whenever the screen switches to landscape it freezes, the volume for the alarm doesn't even work, etc. I've lived with those same problems for the past few months and now I'm fed up with my Droid X.
I've talked to multiple Verizon reps and my options are to either make a claim to the insurance company (because I'm past my one year warranty) and pay $100 for a new one, which to me is illogical. Why would I pay 100 bucks for a phone I know does not work to my standards to only get the same device for a 3rd time. The other option is that they would allow me to get an early upgrade under the restriction that I cannot get the iPhone 4s or any 4g devices. Maybe I'm just not seeing it but how does Verizon largely benefit from that restriction. I know they signed a contract with Apple regarding the iPhone 4s but for other 4g devices that's their own policy. If I'm going to be stuck with a device for at least another 20 months under a contract I personally would want to get the best device out there at the moment. Why is Verizon restricting us from getting a 4g device? At the end of the day they sold a phone, why do they care if it's 4g or 3g or whatever the case may be? So basically I'm stuck with this piece of crap until my official upgrade is due.
I just think Verizon's implementing a bunch of new bull policies, they've become so picky. For example they got rid of their annual contracts, the 30 day return policy is now at 14 days, and now they won't even let me upgrade to a 4g/4s phone under valid reasons. In most cases, 4g devices are more expensive than 3g devices so I'd be paying more anyways, it's not like everything's the same. My phone is having problems and their solutions as to go about fixing it are few and on top of that, have restrictions.
    Anybody feel me?

Yeah but shouldn't Verizon give their customers the benefit of the doubt? That is some crappy customer service compared to other wireless carriers.
The number of people who go through the trouble to play "musical chairs" with phones and go for an early upgrade should be relatively small compared to the number of customers that don't. I spent hours talking to a Verizon rep, if my phone didn't have any problems why would I waste my time trying to get an early upgrade? None of my family and friends have played musical chairs or gone for an early upgrade before and I'm the first one in my family who has ever gone for an early upgrade. + We've been customers for years. They have to make some exceptions to their policies based on customer history..
Laptops, cameras, etc. are a completely different case. We're not bound to a contract so we have the freedom to go buy another one without having to pay service for a camera or laptop or whatever the case may be, so that's not even relevant. You act as though I'm not going to pay for a new device and I want one just for the fact that it's "newer." Not the case, my phone is actually having problems and if they're making me pay for a new device I'd want the best out there at the moment if I'm stuck with it for at least another 20 months. If they're losing money either way why are they restricting us...
