Dropped my ipod in water. They said my wi-fi card is finished... now what ?
I was able to get my music back on, and most of the apps... but no more wi-fi... the guy at the micro-boutique (apple) told me the wifi card is finished and that it would be the same price to get a new ipod than to change the part ... any other solutions ?

Make sure your iPod is off. It probably shut off by itself, but if for whatever reason it’s still on power your water soaked iPod down. Other than this get a bag of uncooked rice. Take the iPod and put it in this rice and seal it in a ziplock bag. The water in your iPod should be drawn out by the dry rice (hopefully) and after 2-3 days, see if there are any signs of wetness.
2 to 3 days is inadequate, try 7, don't seal the bag either.
But don't get your hopes up.

I dropped my ipod in water now it won't work help
I dropped my ipod in water and now it says its needs to be plugged in to itunes but when it is it says its still not and it won't respond what do i do
If you did this recently put it in rice to absorb the water. Uhm if not, try to take it to an Apple store and give them a sob story ahha, maybe they'll give you a break. Good luck (:

okay well i dropped my ipod in water on saturday and was wondering if apple would be able to give a replacement?
The Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage. The ipod has a liquid contact indicator installed in it, so they will know that your device was "dunked". So, you will have to pay the repair price to have it replaced. The following link should give you the amount you will need to pay for your model of ipod.

If i dropped my ipod in water would it still work???
if i dropped my ipod in water would it still work ????????
There are a couple of solutions to that. Most involve silica gel. Silica can be found in little packets at shoe stores and such, it absorbs water and moisture. If you set your iTouch in a bowl of it, and let it sit for 3 days, you may get it back to working.

i dropped my ipod in water ... the backlight will come on when the battery is dead and i plug it in .. but when it is on the home screen it won't come on
After drying the iPod in a sealed container od uncooked rice for a week with changing the rice daily, try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem likely caused by the water. -

I dropped my ipod in water and i have pictures on there that i need! Hellp?
Someone please help me! I dropped my ipod in a cup of water and IMMEDIATLY turned it off and set it in a bad of rice. I havent touched it in a year and it STILL wont turn on or ANHYTHING! I have very important pictures of my father who passed away. How can i get my pictures back?!
- Charge it overnight
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic. Remove any corrosion.
- If iTunes still will not see the the iPod your only hope is a data recovery company. -
Please help me a.s.a.p.- i dropped my ipod in water
someone please help me, i dropped my ipod nano in water and it worked fine for a few minutes, but then it started blinking on and off and then it wouldnt respond to anything and now it is just a screen that says " FireWire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided." please help i dont know what to do, ive only had it for 6 months- is it replaceable/repairable?
Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Let it dry for about a week. Don't turn it on, try to turn it on, or charge it.
After a week, try these...
Resetting iPod
Restore the iPod
If it will not work, you cannot get it serviced by Apple under the warranty as you have voided the warranty.
You would have to do something like this...

Dropped my ipod in water; anything I can do to save it?
My son just dropped his iPod Classic in water; it started making faint buzzing sounds and will not shut off. Anything we can do to salvage it?
Place it in a sealed bag of desiccant or dried rice for a week while changing out the desiccant or rice daily to help absorb moisture from the iPod.
After a week or so, see if you can it to power on and function properly. If not, the water likely already did its damage to the iPod's internal components and circuitry.

I was walking and I dropped my iPod and I picked it up and it was blue so I tried turning it back on and it wouldn't what do I do any help
Try:

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What do you do when you drop your iPod in water, and then your speakers don't work
Please help
Hello,
I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Make an Appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple Store
How did you drop it in water?
Get an external speaker
Hope that helps!
If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)
Cheers!

I can still see everything and it's charging but I read somewhere that if I reset it that it would work again but I'm not sure if that is true and I don't know how to reset it
That happened to my mom's phone. but she dropped it in tea:( If I were you, the best bet would be to put it in a bowl of rice, so that it is covered, and leave it there for a few days. The rice will hopefully soak up all of the water that's in your iPod. Hope this helps!
